Good news about military mandates and ... high interest rates; new study explains missing updated jabs; Epstein becomes a verb; discontent at the health agencies; Putin's latest speech; and more...
Good morning, and Happy Friday! Your roundup today includes: some good news about military mandates; why higher interest rates are actually good news; a new study explains the absence of new jab types; a new verb hits the mainstream; discontent at the agencies; does a major Putin speech make sense?; and news on inflation, Biden hit hardest.
🗞 *THE C&C ARMY POST* 🗞
🪖 I’m speaking this morning at the Moms for Liberty National Conference in Tampa, Florida, which is why your roundup is a little abridged this morning.
🗞*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞
💉 In great news on military mandates, yesterday a federal judge in Ohio certified a national class action lawsuit against the Air Force, and issued a 2-week restraining order barring enforcement of the covid vaccine mandate against any airmen seeking religious exemptions.
The Court ordered the Air Force to file a memorandum by July 21st “identifying why this Court should not grant a class-wide preliminary injunction.“ The preliminary injunction is the one you want; it lasts for the entire case until a final decision. Because it’s now a class, the injunction applies to the entire Air Force and not just the individual plaintiffs.
We need more like this. Great job to all the attorneys who are working on the case.
💉 Remember how Moderna and Pfizer always said that their mRNA platforms were so great because they could just quickly reprogram them to mint new variant-specific versions of their vaccines whenever we needed them? And how the president of Pfizer said in December that they’d have an Omicron-specific version out as soon as January or February?
And then … nothing happened?
I’ve wondered several times on the blog about where those promised variant-specific vaccines were hiding. Well, a new study seems to provide some answers. The bottom line is, the new versions are here but they DON’T WORK.
The study, quietly published earlier this year, bears the somewhat opaque title, “mRNA-1273 or mRNA-Omicron boost in vaccinated macaques elicits comparable B cell expansion, neutralizing antibodies and protection against Omicron.” It weighs in at a blockbuster 66 authors, including NIAID and NIH scientists.
The researchers compared the rates of waning antibodies in monkeys after being vaccinated with the original mRNA jab to the rate of waning antibodies after vaccination with the variant-specific version. They were surprised to find that there was no additional benefit from the new vaccine version over the original, even though the monkeys in both groups were infected with Omicron and not the original Wuhan strain.
They concluded, “Significant and equivalent control of virus replication in lower airways was observed following either boost.”
So that wasn’t good for business, and explained why we haven’t seen any variant-specific versions. But then things got even more interesting. The 66 authors invoked OAS, original antigenic sin, as a LIKLEY potential explanation for why the newer drugs don’t work against the new variants. Likely.
The observation that boosting with either mRNA-1273 or mRNA-Omicron resulted in the expansion of a similarly high frequency of cross-reactive B cells likely stems from the principle of original antigenic sin, otherwise termed antigenic imprinting, whereby prior immune memory is recalled by a related antigenic encounter.
For new readers, original antigenic sin is a problem observed in some leaky vaccines. What happens is, a person’s immune system gets locked into its original response and never learns any new responses when it encounters variants. In other words, because of the leaky vaccine (the “original sin”), the person’s immune system only makes antibodies to the ORIGINAL viral strain, and never updates its antibodies at all to match new variant types, like an unvaccinated immune system can and will easily do.
In other words, injectees’ immune systems are no longer trainable against the disease.
Because the locked immune systems spur genetic development of the target virus, over time the original antibodies become increasingly less effective against new variant types. This can leave the vaccinated people in a really difficult spot. In bad cases, it basically makes them into AIDS patients as to the particular bug they got vaccinated against. In other words, they become immunocompromised to that particular disease, doomed to keep catching it over and over, with each case getting more and more severe.
Since the OAS issue was not the authors’ primary research objective, they didn’t chase it down to prove whether OAS caused the failure of the variant-specific jabs or not. They could have, but they didn’t. For some reason.
But they did say, “likely.”
🔥 Great news everybody! Higher interest rates! Money ran a story this week headlined, “4 Reasons Higher Mortgage Rates Are Actually Good for Homebuyers.” Isn’t it wonderful how the corporate media can always somehow find a silver lining in the bad news when it wants to? Remember “funemployment?” Good times.
Anyway, the ‘good’ part is: FEWER PEOPLE CAN AFFORD TO BUY HOUSES. I thought those people were also called “homebuyers,” but I was wrong. Since they can’t buy homes anymore, they aren’t home “buyers.” They are home not-buyers, a totally different category, and we’re not talking about whether the higher rates are good for THOSE people.
Anyway, REGULAR homebuyers will “benefit” from a soft market collapsing because fewer buyers are coming around competing for houses. Inventories will build up as frustrated sellers are unable to close their deals, which drives prices down. Who knows, slashed prices might even make up for the higher interest rates. Cash buyers like Blackrock will especially benefit. Finally, scraping the bottom of the good news barrel, Money pointed out hopefully that banks might even “eventually” increase your savings account interest rate by a fractional interest point or something.
So, the headline could’ve been, “Horrible News for Sellers and People Who Now Can’t Buy Houses.” But why be so negative? Look at the bright side!
🔥 The tag “Epsteined” was trending on Twitter this morning, so I checked it out. I was bemused to find it was related to the news that Donald Trump’s ex-wife Ivana, 73, died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday. She was found at the bottom of some stairs in her apartment. No cause of death released. 💉
So anyway, I discovered the word “Epsteined” is now a verb, in this case suggesting that President Trump had Ivana bumped off to advantage himself in some kind of deposition he has to attend this week. It’s nonsense; there’s no evidence whatsoever and even the so-called motive falls apart with three seconds of rational reflection.
But what was really interesting is that even the rabid leftwing Trump-derangement community is now using Epstein’s name as a verb. Like, “oh I guess Hillary Clinton’s assistant just epsteined himself yesterday.” Or, “I hope they have an eye on Ghislaine so she can’t epstein herself.”
In other words, if his name is now a verb that even the radical left uses, that means NOBODY believes Epstein killed himself. Nobody. So, can we all quit pretending?
🔥 “I can’t tell you how many people at the FDA have told me, ‘I don’t like any of this, but I just need to make it to my retirement,’” an anonymous FDA official told Dr. Marty Makari and Dr. Tracy Høeg, who just published a joint Substack headlined, “U.S. Public Health Agencies Aren’t ‘Following the Science,’ Officials Say.”
Another senior FDA official lamented, “It’s like a horror movie I’m being forced to watch and I can’t close my eyes. People are getting bad advice and we can’t say anything.”
Meaning, people are getting bad advice from HIS agency — the FDA.
Makary and Høeg say that they are getting lots of calls from doctors and scientists at the CDC, FDA, and NIH. The agency workers are complaining about low morale, high turnover, and short staffing. One complained, “Things have become so political, so what are we there for?” Another CDC scientist admitted, “I used to be proud to tell people I work at the CDC. Now I’m embarrassed.”
According to the authors, the agency employees have been bullied into silence by rampant cancel culture, so they don’t or can’t say anything about their concerns in their official capacities. Thus, they stay off the office radar, using private Signal chats for mutual support and to vent frustrations.
According to the article, the main concerns expressed by the unhappy scientists are the harms to children from lockdowns, and the recent decisions at the FDA and CDC to approve covid shots for infants and toddlers — without any evidence of efficacy, never mind any evidence that could possibly justify the risks.
I sympathize with their plight, I really do. But America needs folks in the federal agencies to DO SOMETHING. Speak up if you can. Whistleblow. Leak when you can, legally. Find a way to help. Don’t just complain about it. Don’t just wait out your retirement and punch your ticket.
If you take action to help, you’ll like yourself more, and things will work out fine, one way or the other. Just think about it.
🔥 Last week, Russian president Vladimir Putin gave a major speech to his Duma (congress), and said “Everyone in the West must realize we haven’t really started the war yet. If they want peace. We’re ready. Otherwise, we’re game.”
Disinformation!
The rest of his speech, I mean disinformation presentation, shows Putin has been paying very close attention. Here’s a small snippet:
The ruling classes of the Western countries, which are supranational and globalist in nature, realized that their policies are increasingly detached from reality, common sense, and truth, and they have started resorting to openly despotic methods.
The West, which once declared such principles of democracy as freedom of speech, pluralism and respect for dissenting opinions, has now degenerated into the opposite: totalitarianism. This includes censorship, media bans, and the arbitrary treatment of journalists and public figures.
These kinds of prohibitions have been extended not only to the information space, but also to politics culture, education, and art — to all spheres of public life in the Western countries. And, they are imposing this on the world; they are trying to impose this model, a model of totalitarian liberalism, including the notorious cancel culture of widespread bans.
Guys, listen. We are making it WAY too easy for Putin to criticize us. Totalitarian liberalism! Not only are we making ourselves easy to criticize, but we’re also making it super easy to divide us. I find myself resonating strongly with the concept of “totalitarian liberalism.” It’s crazy that we’d ever get to a place where I would be tempted to sympathize with Vladimir Putin — even a little.
Anyway, there’s a lot more, but good luck trying to find any of it in corporate media. For some reason. It can’t be that Putin is shaming Joe Biden, who is not making many inspirational speeches about the big picture, or even that give anyone any hope or anything. It can’t be THAT, because, well, c’mon man!
Okay, look. Biden might not be good at giving speeches, riding bicycles, walking up the steps into AF1, remembering what to do next, or even staying awake, but at least he’s good at … … sorry, I forgot what I was going to say.
🔥 The new inflation numbers came out this week and they’re not good. They’re quite bad, actually. Despite the fed’s interest rate hikes and reduction of the money supply, U.S. inflation still shot up to 9.1% — the highest rate since the horrible Carter years back in the 1970’s.
Remember last July when Joe Biden promised us that “Our experts believe and the data shows that most of the price increases we’ve seen are — were expected and expected to be temporary. . . . There’s nobody suggesting there’s unchecked inflation on the way — no serious economist.” Remember when he said that? Haha, good times.
ZeroHedge’s article on the news bore the snappy headline, “The Inflation Monster That Our Leaders Have Created Is Voraciously Eating Away Our Standard Of Living.” The article points out that while, or possibly because inflation is skyrocketing, real wages have fallen for 15 straight months.
But hey, at least we don’t have any mean tweets anymore! And I can’t wait for Money’s newest article, coming out any day now: “Six Ways Inflation Produces Surprising Benefits.”
Have a fabulous Friday and I’ll see you back here in the morning.

Jeff, I know your speech today will be informative and inspiring! I know we all wish we could be there!
And now here are some good words from God via King David who hadn’t even met Joe Biden:
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.
— Psalm 27:13-14
"I sympathize with their plight, I really do. But America needs folks in the federal agencies to DO SOMETHING. Speak up if you can. Whistleblow. Leak when you can, legally. Find a way to help. Don’t just complain about it. Don’t just wait out your retirement and punch your ticket."
Jeff, you are so right about this (as well as many other things). These people need to speak up. By sitting by and watching things unfold, things have really escalated. Covid shots for 6 month olds have been authorized. People have been mandated (and the military and healthcare workers are still under mandates) to get these shots. Some areas (NYC, for example) are planning to mandate covid shots for all school kids and daycare kids to attend this fall.
Silence has allowed this to snowball. Maybe these federal agency workers are not getting the Vax and not letting their kids get it. Maybe they are telling close friends and family members not to get it. Maybe they have fake vax cards, etc. But if they continue to sit by, things will also continue to progress. Eventually this crap could be given to us all by force. AND their fake cards, etc will no longer protect them because "the powers that be" will know (by a scan or somehow) if a person has really gotten the covid shots. They must speak up!!
Many of these federal agency workers are probably horrified by the atrocities of the Holocaust. They may wonder how that could have happened. Well, it happened because people like them saw things that were wrong and didn't speak up.
Too many sit by and wait for someone else to do something. They wait for a hero to swoop in and save the day. You don't need super powers to stop wrongdoing.
