In today’s roundup: Pennsylvania’s highest court strikes down the state’s school mask mandate; Colorado’s governor says no more mask mandates in the Centennial State; an Oklahoma judge ends the state’s largest school district’s quarantine mandate; a Belgian court strikes down a local vaccine passport law; a Doomsday Virus update; New Zealand sponsors responsible journalism; DeSantis says he’ll support a pending Constitutional Carry bill; details emerge about Florida’s proposed new office for election integrity; the First DCA upholds landlords’ rights; Governor Newsom walks back his school injection mandate, a little; the freest University in the U.S. creates a new academy for real science; and a new weekly Covid update from Florida.

🗞*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞

👨‍⚖️ Buh-bye! Another mandate bites the dust. Pennsylvania’s democrat-majority Supreme Court struck down that state’s school mask mandate yesterday. Thomas King, an attorney representing the plaintiffs, heralded Friday’s ruling as a “great day in Pennsylvania for the rule of law.” The Court hasn’t issued a written opinion yet, but when it does, I’ll break it down for you if it’s interesting.

🔥 Even as cases are on the rise and the state’s hospitals complain about increasing patient loads, Colorado’s Democrat Governor Jared Polis — no warrior for freedom — declared yesterday that “the emergency is over,” and said that while masks are useful, they are no longer required in the state’s fight against the pandemic. “Public health [officials] don’t get to tell people what to wear; that’s just not their job,” the Governor said.

I wonder what the polls must be showing. Polis seems to be trending toward recognizing that Coloradans can make their own choices. He said, “Public health [officials] would say to always wear a mask because it decreases flu and decreases [other airborne illnesses]. But that’s not something that you require; you don’t tell people what to wear. You don’t tell people to wear a jacket when they go out in winter and force them to [wear it]. If they get frostbite, it’s their own darn fault. If you haven’t been vaccinated, that’s your choice. I respect that.”

👨‍⚖️ Yesterday, Oklahoma judge Don Andrews enjoined the Edmond public school district from carrying out its proposed quarantine plan. The district’s awesome new plan would have forced unvaccinated students — regardless if they tested negative — into quarantine whenever shady anonymous “contact tracers” fingered them as being connected to a positive case somehow. For safety.

But some parents sued the district, arguing the policy was unlawful under state law and unconstitutional under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. The judge agreed. He found the district’s policy to be a witless pretext for a darker agenda. Well, that’s how I interpret his conclusions. He wrote that “the policy of removing unvaccinated-yet-healthy children from the classroom provided no benefit in slowing the spread of COVID-19. The policy did, however, inflict tremendous harm on some of those students.”

No benefit. Tremendous harm.

Specifically, he found that the district’s ill-considered quarantine policy caused “…a wide range of negative psychological and physical effects” on the students, pushing some to the brink of suicide, while interfering with their ability to learn.

Suicide? Ability to learn? Who cares about that stuff! We MUST stop the spread of this virus — no matter what it takes! Even if it poses nearly no threat at all to these students. Even if we have to drive them all the brink of suicide to do it!

The district claimed that a lot of kids weren’t swallowing their injection propaganda. But the judge wasn’t buying it. Observing that the injections don’t stop people from transmitting the virus, he basically called the district’s administrators ignorant boobs. The order says, “there is no reasonably conceivable state of facts that can justify the differential treatment between vaccinated and unvaccinated students at issue here.”

Got that, dummies?

But the best news is the district’s moronic quarantine policy spotlights the pathetic long-term failure of the public school system in Oklahoma. I mean, these school administrators deserve a lot of credit for how far they’ve come on such little cognitive ability. It was brave of them to put their intellectual handicaps on display before the whole country. But they need to be helped, not encouraged.

🔥 You can’t find this story anywhere in the woeful U.S. media, but European media is reporting that a Belgian court found a local vaccine passport law to be illegal under European law. This is the first European court to find passports to be invalid. The court said the local “Covid Safe Ticket” was “disproportionate” (a legal term) and said it could be illegal under other European laws. The local government has to pay a daily fine of EU 5,000.00 until it vacates the law. So.

🔥 DOOMSDAY VIRUS UPDATE. The CDC’s new weekly report details the first 43 Omicron cases in the U.S. You’ll be shocked to learn that 80% of the tragic victims of this heinous doomsday virus were FULLY VACCINATED. Safe and effective!

Lamentably for Big Pharma and the Corporate Media, there was only one hospitalization and no deaths.

And I really hate to tell you this. Buried down in the dense lower paragraphs of the report, it mentions that the lone hospitalized patient was … injected. Of course. Good thing he got that shot! It could have been so much worse!

Is there someplace we can go to get our trillion dollars back for these injections? Just asking.

🔥 New Zealand’s frightful Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says her government will pay journalists to write government-approved articles about Covid-19. Because government-sponsored media has always worked out well in the past. Just ask ze germans and the Russians. Good luck, Kiwis!

🔫 In a shot heard around the liberal echo chamber this week, Governor DeSantis agreed that he would sign HB 103 if it reaches his desk. The bill would remove any licensing requirement for concealed weapons for Florida citizens. The Department of Agriculture would still issue licenses so that Florida citizens can carry in other states that recognize “reciprocity.”

Permitless, or “Constitutional” carry has ridden a wave of momentum in red states — five states have adopted it so far in 2021. Texas become the largest state to do so back in June. In fact, Florida is one of the few remaining states where Republicans control all branches of the state government that has not yet enacted the policy.

When asked if he’d sign the bill, DeSantis remarked simply, “of course.” If it passes, get ready for a new round of hysterical anti-gun nonsense in national media.

🦸‍♂️ Politico Florida reported that Governor DeSantis is preparing a five-page bill creating the Office of Election Crimes and Security, with an initial $6 million budget. Under the bill, a new statewide prosecutor would be appointed by the Attorney General, and would have primary jurisdiction for “enforcement and prosecution of election law violations and election irregularities.” The prosecutor would take over investigations referred by local prosecutors and law enforcement.

🔥 Last week, Florida’s First District Court of Appeal upheld a lower court ruling that landlords can still evict deadbeat tenants notwithstanding the CDC’s so-called “eviction moratorium.” This is great news. While it’s tragic that some folks can’t afford to pay rent, it isn’t fair for society to impose the burden of charitable assistance on private landlords. If the CDC wants to pay people’s rent for them, it has plenty of money to do it. Your move, CDC. Put your greasy, chocolate-stained money where your big fat mouth is.

💉 Governor Newsom seems to be walking back his “first in the country” injection mandate for school kids. The nearly-recalled governor made the remarks during an interview on Good Morning America this week, where he was promoting — of all things — his new children’s book. Newsom said that uninjected kids shouldn’t be kicked out of school after all, but rather, they should be fine-tuned:

“We need to fine-tune all this, this is iterative. … We want to keep the kids in school. … We don’t want to see 34,000 kids sent home, quite the contrary. And that’s why I’d say you have to accommodate. And I have all the confidence in the world the school board will work to accommodate.”

He was referring to the largest district in the state, LA County Unified School District. The golden-state governor also signaled that exemptions would be accommodated liberally when he stressed that his mandate “includes PERSONAL exemptions, not just religious and/or medical exemptions, so there’s plenty of latitude for families to make decisions.”

🏫 Hillsdale College, the only major university in the U.S. that doesn’t accept federal funding, announced yesterday that it is creating a new “Academy for Science and Freedom,” to “combat the recent and widespread abuses of individual and academic freedom made in the name of science.”

Its initial set of fellows includes heavyweights like Scott Atlas, Jay Bhattacharya, and Martin Kulldorf. The Academy’s mission will be “to educate the American people about the free exchange of scientific ideas and the proper relationship between freedom and science in the pursuit of truth.”

Science has a long way to go to reclaim its credibility. It sure seems like science is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Big Pharma at this point, so Hillsdale has its work cut out for it. But this is the right idea! More, please, and faster.

📊 *COVID IN FLORIDA AND ALACHUA COUNTY* 📊

As I predicted, the numbers are now showing the incipient winter wave in Florida. Get ready for corporate media’s hype machine to come back online with a loud BANG! and thick clouds of black smoke.

The clearest sign is the jump in cases from 10,892 last week to 13,350 this week. That’s the highest number of reported cases since mid-October. Positivity also ticked up to 2.6% — which is also mid-October levels. Unsurprisingly, cases per 100K increased to a similar point, now at 61.6, up from 49.6 last week.

There was one helpful sign; Florida’s “R-naught” seems to have settled back down to 1.03 from a spike of 1.54 the week before. This suggests maybe that the 1.54 figure was anomalous. Any number above 1.0 predicts cases will continue to increase.

Another odd figure is the report of national hospitalizations, which fell by almost half to 1,142. This seems like it has to be a mistake; like some of the data wasn’t reported or something. I’ll keep an eye on it.

As I’ve been saying: prophylaxis, early treatment, and education. Let’s beat the fourth wave. If you haven’t had Covid yet, start taking Vitamin D and maybe stock up on some horse dewormer, just in case.
