Yes, raising animals is an everyday, morning and evening job plus becoming your own vet. Farmers are not stupid ppl and are the backbone of a civilized country. We prefer to mind our own business and families.
I’d love to have chickens, but the predators around here aren’t just nocturnal. I looked out one morning to see a Fox jump up onto the top of our 5’ chain link fence and nonchalantly walk the length of it like a cat. We had a lot of them this year and the cottontail bunny population is greatly decreased. We set traps but were pretty much “out foxed”! 😂
Out of all the things I've done and purchased for my chickens, the auto-locking automatic door takes first place, by far. Seconded by a remote camera. No more getting up at the crack of dawn or worrying about who will tend them if we were to overnight else where. And checking on them is easily done remotely, just for my piece of mind. Now that the weather is getting colder and wetter, I appreciate my auti door even more.

🤣
We have used the automatic doors and they are a chicken life saver.

Great idea on the remote camera. That will be next.
