🗞💬 *WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 💬🗞
📈 Scholarship condemning lockdowns is slowly, steadily increasing, a relentless “drip, drip, drip” that must amount to a sort of Chinese water torture for anyone truly concerned with the future of public health. On Thursday, the Manhattan Institute’s City Journal ran a story about the failures of lockdown policy:
It’s not just some heterodox musings by a conservative think tank. The article described two substantial new analyses of near-universal lockdown policies enacted in every country but one (Sweden, the control group). Both reports concluded lockdown policy made little or no difference in saving lives, but had massive destructive effects.
The first analysis was published in book form, after researchers reviewed over twenty thousand separate studies. Think about that number, twenty thousand. That is a LOT of lockdown studies. The book, authored by three respected economists and published last month, was simply titled, “Did Lockdowns Work?”
The answer is no. “Most likely lockdowns represent the biggest policy mistake in modern times,” explained one of the three authors, Lars Jonung of Lund University in Sweden.
The second report, authored by three former White House economic advisors, was published in February, and compared U.S. states’ rates of covid mortality, excess mortality, and lockdown policies. After adjusting for a bunch of variables, like age distribution, they found NO statistically significant benefit from lockdown restrictions.
But non-covid excess deaths increased by +100,000 annually and worse, disproportionately hitting working-age adults. Excess deaths were only one of the negative effects. Rates of smoking, drinking, and obesity also increased. States with more stringent pandemic restrictions had bigger declines in their economic output and higher rates of unemployment.
Lockdown effects were, perhaps, hardest on our children, who now suffer from permanent learning loss as well as excess mortality and booming anxiety disorders, as indicated by a raft of recent headlines, like these from the UK Telegraph:
From the Belfast Telegraph:
BBC:
The BBC article reported an unlikely connection between childhood Type I diabetes and lockdowns: “Some scientists believe it is possible that lockdowns and physical distancing during Covid meant many children did not get sufficient exposure to germs and missed out on this additional protection [vs. type 1 diabetes].”
Each of those articles was based on one or more new studies showing the profoundly harmful effects of lockdown policy on kids. Sadly, U.S. corporate media, having sold its soul for twenty pieces of silver during the pandemic, largely remains silent. For now. And the CDC is suicidally sticking to its lockdown guidance, along with the W.H.O., which is still pushing them, hard, in its odious new “pandemic treaty.”
But the weight and momentum of twenty thousand studies is unstoppable, and a correction is inevitable, though it will take some time for that to happen. An entire generation of government officials who were all complicit in lockdown mania must — and eventually will — be replaced by new, uncomplicit officials whose hands aren’t dripping with children’s blood.
That’s when accountability can start. It WILL happen. It IS coming. It is as inevitable as corporate media horror stories about climate change. Those of us alive and remain will never, ever forget.
🔥 In a similar vein, the Wall Street Journal ran an op-ed yesterday headlined, “Covid Censorship Proved to Be Deadly.” The sub-headline explained “Government and social-media companies colluded to stifle dissenters who turned out to be right.”
Being a stifled dissenter myself, I was glad to see it in print, even if just in the editorial section.
The author sensibly pointed out that forbidding doctors from recommending effective alternative treatments and hiding the fact of recovered immunity is not only unethical and droolingly moronic but led to countless preventable deaths:
Legions of doctors stayed quiet after witnessing the demonization of their peers who challenged the Covid orthodoxy. A little censorship leads people to watch what they say. Millions of patients and citizens were deprived of important insights as a result… Excess mortality in most high-income nations was worse in 2021 and 2022 than in 2020, the initial pandemic year. Many poorer nations with less government control seemed to fare better. Sweden, which didn’t have a lockdown, performed better than nearly every other advanced nation.
The article quoted Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman, who in 1969 famously said “Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts.” Truer words were never spoken. So I guess all us of contrarians were doing science all along. Who knew.
Gosh. How many times over the last three years have I written about the dangers of ceding decision-making to experts? Historically, “experts” as a class were only supposed to INFORM our decision making, not MAKE decisions for us. That key historical distinction seems utterly lost on our friends from the left, and our present woeful circumstances constitute the best evidence of why we’ve never before put “experts” in charge of anything.
One editorial is not enough, not by a long shot, but it’s a start. Even though corporate media is still valiantly trying to defend official “disinformation censorship,” the truth, like water, keeps relentlessly finding ways to seep out. And — we aren’t seeing too many full-throated defenses of pandemic policy, are we?
Tick, tock, experts.
💉 This week, British journalist and TV personality Fiona Phillips, 62, announced she’s been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. She initially thought her crippling anxiety and brain fog were just menopause symptoms.
Phillips, who said her family has a history of the disabling disease in older years, told reporters “It’s something I might have thought I’d get at 80… But I was still only 61 years old [when it started].” Her husband reported Fiona has qualified for trials for a new Alzheimer’s drug and they are hopeful she’s not in the placebo group.
She’s keeping a positive outlook. “Martin is stabbing me every night”, laughed Fiona. “My poor stomach is full of pin marks.”
We pray for Fiona’s rapid and complete recovery.
💉 YouTube star and frequent jab advocate “The Physics Girl” Dianna Cowern is suffering from months of deteriorating health, to the point she is now entirely disabled. She blames her condition on long covid, not long vaxx, despite having gotten the safe and effective shots, which were neither effective to protect her from viral or vaccinal injury.
No, Dianna, it wasn’t worth it:
Dianna’s popular YouTube channel, featuring videos often collecting millions of views, has slowed down in any new releases over the past six months, for obvious reasons.
The evolving history of Dianna’s last few months of social media posts is a nightmarish catalogue of frightful, creeping deterioration. It started in December 2022 with chronic fatigue and headaches. Now she’s completely bedridden, all day long, every single day:
MCAS stands for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. It is a complex and poorly understood disorder involving abnormal activation of mast cells, a type of immune cell involved in allergic and inflammatory responses. In MCAS, mast cells are overly sensitive and easily triggered, leading to the release of intolerable amounts of various interrelated chemical substances, such as histamine, prostaglandins, and cytokines.
Hmm. I did a little searching, and it didn’t take long to find.
And more cases like Dianna’s:
And even more. Out of 32,492 V-Safe reports in the U.S. VAERS database, there are at least 13 reports of MAST diagnosis following covid vaccination:
I know, I know. I’m only a lawyer, used to looking at evidence, and used to interrogating experts, but I’m not an expert immunologist. So sue me.
💉 Another swimmer drifted into eternity this week. Young Italian doctor and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Paolo Cappare, 42, died suddenly and unexpectedly on June 18th WHILE SWIMMING.
Italian news site Calabria reported that after Paolo’s five-year-old son called for help, bystanders rescued the floundering doctor from the water, and he seemed to be improving at first. But then he seemed to take a sudden turn for the worse and never left the beach. “Rescuers, who arrived by helicopter, went out of their way to revive the victim, but there was nothing they could do for him.”
A quick search, NOT on Google, found it in a Reuters article:
💉 Another cardiologist! Washington D.C. heart doc Dr. Ramin Oskoui, 60, who was named Physician of the Year by Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Awards in 2015, died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 5th DURING CARDIOLOGY ROUNDS.
Think about it. Dr. Oskoui had a heart attack IN A HOSPITAL while SURROUNDED BY CARDIAC DOCTORS. And he still didn’t make it.
Tragically, Dr. Oskoui was an outspoken critic of mask and lockdown policies:
I couldn’t find anything definitive about his jab status. Dr. Oskoui seemed critical of the jabs, and was skeptical of Damar Hamlin’s commotio cordis diagnosis. But, as you can easily imagine, Washington D.C. had a strict jab mandate for all healthcare workers:
Rest in peace, doc. We won’t forget about you.
🔥 Politico ran a story yesterday headlined, “U.S. Approves Cluster Bombs Despite Humanitarian Concerns.”
After weeks of dithering, on Friday, just before the weekend, the Biden Administration quietly announced it will approve cluster bombs in the United States’ next $800 million weapons package for Ukraine, after all.
Official propaganda minister Jake Sullivan explained that the deadly weapons, banned by over 120 countries and a U.S. law prohibiting export of weapons with more than a 1% dud rate, are now unfortunately necessary, to help shore up Ukraine’s failing counteroffensive:
“We recognize that cluster munitions created risk of civilian harm from unexploded ordnance,” Sullivan said during a White House press briefing. “This is why we deferred the decision for as long as we could, but there is also a massive risk of civilian harm if Russian troops and tanks roll over Ukrainian positions and take more Ukrainian territory and subjugate more Ukrainian civilians because Ukraine does not have enough artillery.”
Who cares whether it’s ethical? Not Joe Biden. His ethic is the relentless utilitarian logic of necessity. Children are the largest group of victims from unexploded bomblets. The use of cluster bombs is widely considered by rights organizations to be a war crime.
Sullivan admitted that, even though the U.S.’s modernized cluster bombs have a 2.35% dud rate, Biden can override the U.S.’s export ban.
Oh, and when Russia did it, it was a war crime. Days after the war in Ukraine started last year, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked by a reporter about Russia’s use of “illegal cluster bombs” in the Proxy War. “We have seen the reports,” Psaki replied. “If that were true, it would potentially be a war crime.”
That was then! And Putin is evil! So!
The ultimate victims will be Ukrainians themselves.
🔥 The Daily Caller ran a more encouraging story yesterday headlined, “Rep. Dan Bishop Moves to Overturn ‘War on Terror’ Authorization.”
After 22 years of blanket authorization, a bipartisan group of House representatives, led by Representative Dan Bishop (R-NC), has introduced legislation to repeal the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that has allowed four presidents nearly unlimited authority to prosecute the endless War on Terror.
To be sure, the proposed repeal is a long shot. But it’s progress.
🔥 Finally, to get your juices flowing, here’s something you don’t see every day. Spoiler: he was fine.

"Lockdowns for covid". It shows their view of us since 'lockdowns' is a term used for prisoners who misbehave.
“Most likely lockdowns represent the biggest policy mistake in modern times,”
And that's why these things are being allowed to be published; we're supposed to think it was a mistake.
