He works for a pharmacology firm based in Chicago. We live in NW FL. He is their national director for specialty therapies which includes IVIG, immunoglobulin therapy. IVIG has become a go-to for the vaxx injured who have tried everything else without success especially for neurological issues. But it is very expensive and insurance usually doesn't cover it as it is experimental.

Back when the mandates started, his VP boss asked if he was going to get the shot. My son told him that he was a doctor of pharmacy and that he had looked at the data and that there was no way he or his family would ever take the shot. He said the vaxx made no sense and was all BS. Later he and his team got letters from HR telling them the shot is required. My son created a very simple exemption letter based on the new law that Surgeon General Ladapo and DeSantis had gotten passed and he and half his team sent that in reply to HR.

Next thing you know, they get a letter from HR terminating their employment. He got angry. He called his boss, told him what happened and that according to FL law, the firm was now subject to some heavy fines from the state of FL. His boss said to hang on and he would get back to him. Long story short, HR had sent out the termination letters without vetting it through the CEO or through Legal. When his boss told the CEO what had happened, she blew her stack "dropping the F bomb all over the executive floor." I think the head of HR got fired. His boss called back and told him just to trash the termination letters. My son's team here is the biggest profit center in the whole company and HR tried to terminate them - LOL.

My son said if he had to he would take a pharmacy job in a little country town rather than take the shot.

RunningLogic,

I wanted to thank you again for your recommendation for Dr. William Davis. I listened to many of his podcasts for cholesterol. I’ve taken a very deep dive the last 3 weeks.

I had a calcium score done and it was 0. The only lifestyle change I’m making is eating more fish. I already cut out sugar and processed foods.

The C&C army is a wonderful resource! 🙏❤️

You are very kind but I think you are mistaken, I don’t recall recommending that so I’m sure it must’ve been someone else. But I am very glad you found a great resource and are making good progress! C&C is indeed an amazing group of people with so much knowledge to share!

Ignorant question: Do all pharmacists hold a doctorate in pharmacy, or is that another level in the field?

No great question! The PharmD is a newer addition within the last 20 years. It signifies that we have a better understanding on the anatomy and the pharmacological effect. Before the PharmD, a regular Bachelor of Pharmacy was needed which focused solely on the medications effect and little on the body's anatomy.

Oh! Very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to clarify this for me.

Time flies, Franklin! We had PharmD trainees on our hospital treatment teams when I was in medical school in the late '80s.

If you could do it over again, would you go in to pharmacy? Do you recommend the occupational? Just curious my brother wanted to be a pharmacist for awhile but decided against due to the cost of education.

Ehh... that is a tough one. Being a pharmacist gives me the "credentials" to speak on matters. However, as we discussed, there's a lot within the profession that needs to be addressed. I do enjoy what I do now as I am able to make a difference on medications (like PPIs) but I can't say that is everyone's perspective.

So to answer, personally, I would because I've enjoyed my experience overall.

A female pharmacist friend recommended it as a good profession for a woman who wants to have kids as well as a time-flexible, intellectually-challenging, and well-paying job. Medicine is so demanding that it's very difficult to do part-time or in a time-flexible way. I knew many young women physicians who regretted how their occupational decision affected their ability to be moms.
