However, I love the cheekiness of “if I ever meet this columnist, I will be sure to encourage her to smile, too. Should I add, “babe?” 🤣 If life problems could only be this simple once again.

Maybe this falls into one of the renaming fads, the micraggression. The "smile" comment that comes from a stranger, out of nowhere, bugs me most because stranger has no idea of what a person is going thru. They may tell themselves that they are being encouraging, mean well, or that a person is unaway that w/o a grin, the stranger sees a scowl. The ensuing comment to 'smile", followed by " it's not that bad" or similar is just unwelcome at that point, versus a more empathetic start with hello, followed perhaps by a comment that acknowledges the surrounding context. I have gotten this comment from male acquaintances, not just men on the street. I almost would be less bothered by random street weirdos asking me to perform facial expressions than by having a man I knew and would otherwise be conversing with about normal things say this to me. I like your much more socially appropriate suggestions for getting women to smile authentically. Kindness leads to smiles.

I've spoken to many that have said they aren't getting any more covid shots. But there are others that are still brainwashed. One of my double-jabbed neighbors, who is in her mid-60's, told me she had recently been hospitalized for cardiomyopathy, which her doctor told her was from a virus. She said she was getting the booster because her doctor said she could not chance getting covid. I tried to talk to her about the shots but she shut me down. Said she had to do what her doctor advised. Then told me her husband was getting his 4th shot after work.
It's crazy! My friend's nail tech had a client that passed out while waiting the 10 minutes after her covid shot. Was taken by ambulance to hospital....never woke up after shot..was in a coma....and died.
The spin seems to be: All these adverse effects are Long Covid or compl;citations from the virus, but certainly NOT the shots. I must admit its a pretty good tactic, even though it does not hold up to any amount of scrutiny…..
