A Florida federal judge strikes the CDC’s transportation mask mandate and it looks like it will stick; and the government’s top vaccine expert raises serious doubts about boosters.
Follow the money. Dr Offit is a millionaire from a patent he owns for a vaccine on the CDC’s childhood vaccine schedule. As a result of the covid jabs, parents are more vaccine hesitant than ever before. Florida Health Department released a statement in 2021 that childhood vaccination rates for infants was down 14.1% in the beginning of 2021. I saw the statement from the health department but have not thoroughly vetted its claims. However it makes intuitive sense that parents would be less likely to vaccinate their children after the covid jab public debacle. Dr. Offit would certainly be negatively impacted by a reduction in the number jabs given to children. At this point, he is probably realizing that the covid jabs are harming his credibility and undermining the public’s faith in vaccines. In the coming months, I expect to see Dr. Offit and other childhood vax beneficiaries reverse course on the covid jabs and begin a campaign to reinforce the public’s faith in vaccines. This should create some interesting internal conflicts among pharm companies.
You forgot to mention that in addition to no masks on planes and the cruise lines dropping jab mandates, we also need the testing requirement to re-enter the US to go away. Then travel will really turn around. I know many people who refuse to leave the US for that reason alone, including myself. I refuse to have to be tested when I have NO symptoms to enter my OWN COUNTRY.
I remember seeing the airlines themselves fall on the mask issue like dominoes and thinking "whoa, this might actually stick, they wouldn't be jumping on this if it didn't." I hope I'm intepreting things correctly. Worst-case scenario is that the Feds *do* plan to fight the decision but the airlines are throwing in their lot with the People in a bid to make it even more politically risky to make a fuss.
I'm inclined to see this as a very good thing so far. If mask rules had been allowed to quietly expire on their own, there would be more of a notion in the minds of petty tyrants that they reserve the right to bring those policies back this fall. But if there's a court decision saying "nah, this isn't your call" then it's a cleaner break. So not only would it mean masks are going away, but they would be going away in a context friendly to accountability.
Anyone who says Judge Mizelle is too young to make such an important decision should be redirected to recent age-related issues like sex education in preschool, letting pre-pubescent children make decisions about gender-changing surgery, lowering the voting age to 16, and on and on. Hallelujah and Praise the Lord for Judge Mizelle’s wisdom. 🙌🏻

I was around when the first vaccine for rotavirus, a generally obnoxiously but very survivable profuse vomiting and diarrhea illness in children, was put out. It was pulled shortly thereafter because it caused intestinal obstruction in a minority of patients. Like, the incidence went from 2/million to 4/million, or something like that. Don’t quote me, but it was {compared to the harm of the current injections} a small increase. And yes, of course, any increase and the vaccine needed to be pulled. And it was.
Apparently, according to the book, Offit had been working on another, different rotavirus vaccine. Guess what? He was on the panel to approve rota#1, on the panel to pull rota#1, and that paved the way for his rotavirus vaccine to have full market share. Which it now does.
And, oh, by the way, his vaccine, according to references in the book, has the same incidence of post-vaccine intestinal obstruction!!! 😱😱😱. Adverse events range from 953-1,689/year and include everything from fever and diarrhea to immune deficiency, seizures, respiratory illness, and death!
So. I wonder what on earth Paul Offit is up to?
It is indeed remarkable (1) that he even WOULD say these things and (2) that he COULD say these things.
He could be finally seeing reality. Maybe those of us who participated in letter campaigns to the FDA and CDC re jabs for kids <5 got through to him (he was on the list of people to contact).
He, along with others, could be setting up Fow-chi to be a fall guy - let Tony take all the heat, get him out of the CDC, let him bear the wrath of the incensed and injured public while the rest of the scientists and doctors issue statements like these as means of self-protection when the public comes for them? Meanwhile, they simply install another cockroach in Tony’s place once Tony is gone.

It will be helpful to have his words on record and in NEJM at that. Maybe ordinary drs who refuse to read anything but what comes down from god on high will be more open to considering this information now.
