A Canadian Trucker protest update; an unexpected Reuters headline; tons of mandates falling; and the Florida Senate passes a great pro-small-business bill.
"Does Covid work differently over there somehow?" Covid works in a myriad of different ways. It's really quite remarkable. It knows when to start and stop, when to travel horizontally and when to travel vertically, when to strike while your walking but take a break when you're sitting down, when to pause the closer it gets to a red state and blow up when it crosses into a blue state, etc....
Trudeau is pretty rookie for a tyrant. He using all that harsh language and trying to bully the protesters with his usually litany of racist/sexist/misogynist bullshit. His incompetence may actually be useful for a change, the country may yet turn against him
Denver lifts mask mandates - but not on schools and daycares?
What on earth is it going to take to get kids out of masks??? What is the nature of this obscenity, this sadism? I have no words...

I can't recall who it was that first told me about Coffee and Covid, but I have to say it's been like a lifeline thrown to a drowning person. Being the only person in my medical facility who has successfully fought off the shot with an approved religious exemption, it's been a very lonely time. I constantly have to put up with comments about how patients are stupid and "deserve what they get" if they are unvaccinated and contract Covid-19, or I have to listen to staff berate patients when they answer "no" to the screening question "Have you been vaccinated against Covid-19?" Yet the one time I truthfully answered a question posed by a more open-minded coworker, I was soon after brought into the boss' office. I was told I was "making people uncomfortable" with my rhetoric and that I should "consider my words more carefully." Thank you, Jeff, for talking me down off the ledge daily.
"Great Britain announced yesterday that it is canceling its vaccine mandate for healthcare workers."
Hey, Great Britain, can you now tell us how you're going to cancel the vaccine itself in the bodies of the healthcare workers whom you forced to take the jabs in the first place? How, exactly, do you unring THAT bell?
In regards to โ RUSSIAN MISINFORMATION CAMPAIGNโโฆ this is so classic ๐ As a Russian immigrant who has relatives and friends back in Russia, I can assure you that Russia have been laughing out loud about this bogus statement. It's a shame this had to go on for so long - my neighbors in Mask-a-chusetts seem to really like their costume!! It's incredible to realize how easily people can be talked into doing such absurd things and will only stop when the "authorities" tell them to (or will they?). Group-think is a scary thing!!!
โ Are you spotting a pattern of any kind in these stories? I donโt know, itโs so hard to tell. Oh well. I canโt wait for that State of the Union in a month. How about you?โ
Yep.
He is going to gloat about how everything has gone back to normal under his watch. And unfortunately too many people on both sides of the aisle are going to buy it. I continue to be amazed by the numbers of people who are generally on the R side of the aisle but simply donโt know or see the extent of the bizarreness that continues swirling around COVID and all things related.
Of course, we wonโt be back to normal until all the States of Emergency both state and federal are declared done, until the EUA testing and injections and drugs have been made to go through proper trials and legitimate approval. (The home test sitting in my closet was granted EUA status based on testing in a grand total of 350 sick people, of whom 83 were PCR+. My understanding of Kochโs Postulates of infectious disease says that when diagnosing a new disease, one should isolate THE INFECTIOUS AGENT - not merely bits of that presumed agent. These tests should be studied in comparison to VIRAL CULTURES, not in comparison to PCR. And with such a tiny number of PCR+ people, we cannot possibly know the true accuracy across all the age groups studied, as only a tiny fraction of PCR+ people were children.)
I am glad for reversing of the insanity. But I absolutely am not pleased with the duplicitous reasons behind it.
People have to stay vigilant and hold those responsible to account, even after things have returned to normal. We cannot allow this to happen again. We must elect red elephants instead of blue rinos. And stay involved and alert and aware.

I'll believe it all when Leana Wen loses her job at CNN and the TSA drops the damn mask mandate on airplanes, etc. I'd love to be able to fly with my special needs kiddo again. While we seem to have finally won the day on cloth masks (I've been saying they didn't work for two years now and losing friends over it) it seems the Branch Covidians have doubled down and moved to the more cool and stylish N95. "sigh" I see people in my area wearing them, and wearing them improperly, all the time now. Is there a term for being sad, angry, and amused all at once?
I know many people who for whatever reasons felt compelled to comply with โvaccineโ mandates. Once these mandates are lifted, theyโre going to be pretty sore, especially if they catch C19 anyway. No way to LIFT that stuff out of their systems. Mandates were always illegal coercive instruments to get shots in bodies - to what end?
Oh, and then there's the story of the poor employees at Hershey. This company really needs to hear that we're entering an endemic so they stop releasing employees based on v status.
There is a simple explanation for this sudden retreat: The US Economy is what Professor Michael Hudson calls a โFIRE Economyโ, Finance, Insurance and Real Estate and the Insurance Industry insures both plus they insure Peopleโs Lives, and since people are suddenly dying at a 40% increased rate, the Life Insurance sector will soon be Bankrupted. That will collapse the House of Cards pretty quickly, hence the sudden appearance of Ivermectin as the Savior of the Insurance Industry, plus the end of the mandates. Now it should be clear to everyone that the Public Health Crowd and the Government, except for Floridaโs Government, is a Clown ๐คก ๐คก ๐คก Show ๐ ๐ ๐คฃ ๐คฃ ๐คฃ that should have thought of this two years ago.
The County Council President here in Faucistan is now telling the press they probably won't renew the mask mandate when it sunsets on Feb 21. The comment didn't get much attention, and of course they can always backtrack. But if they follow through with it, thousands of Covid authoritarians' heads are going to explode from sense of betrayal.

VA Tech dropped its vax and testing mandates too. :)
