Jeff. This article is brilliant today! I laughed out loud on many occasions. Congratulations on being a super respectable and quotable attorney! You made us look good in that epoch times articles. So happy my friend told me you have to read this column 4 months ago.

May God give you the health strength and wealth to carry on. God bless you!!

>> Republicans have traditionally been the party who stood up for the rights of business OWNERS, while Democrats have always positioned themselves as advocates for WORKERS. What does it mean that Democrats have completely abandoned workers by pushing all these mandates and helping create hellish job conditions? And that Republicans have been forced to become the defenders of those least able to defend themselves: non-unionized service employees?

Some people are probably not going to want to hear this but... thank Trump. Love him, hate him, or have a reasonable nuanced opinion on him (*raises hand*), he drove the Republican party further towards populism. His influence on GOP grand strategy ("Trumpism") has absolutely not waned.

If you had to decide between him and DeSantis...?

DeSantis stays in florida and he will have states within more electoral votes than California soon. DeSantis is my governor. I’m an a bread and born Floridian. DeSantis can’t go I am holding on to his leg. 😂

both are great but I would go with DeSantis, as Trump just brings too much controversy. The left would do absolutely anything to try to defeat Trump.

I would really enjoy a 2nd term- for SO many reasons, some purely emotional- but I feel like DeSantis is, as you implied, the less tainted candidate.

OTOH, there would be something to be said for Trump running again, and the left absolutely imploding in all out frenzy against him: eating their own, going off the deep end, committing tons of tactical blunders, offending and turning off lots of ordinary Americans who may have drifted rightward under Biden and covid biofascism...

If you believe the "silent majority" principle, Trump isn't as weak a candidate as logic suggests. I just don't know. I'm glad we have a while to see things move around.

De Santis for President, Trump for Speaker of the House. Good combo.

Will figure it out when the time comes. Not sure Trump is a slam dunk for the GOP nomination if DeSantis steps in. And we would HAVE to have a viable candidate for governor to take his place. Not sure the Lt Gov is up to the task. Need someone with his same cojones.

So long as Florida GOP can materialize the right gov candidate, DeSantis would be a complete winner for the United States, especially since he'll be supported by a GOP Congress. Facts!

We need to get DeSantis to lead on fighting vaccine mandates for children and promoting early Covid treatment. He could be a true champion for children and medical freedom....and put the other contenders to shame.

That's my feeling. Imagine what he can accomplish if Congress is swept by then.

Even my husband, who can't stand most aspects of Trump's personality, agrees with pretty much all of his policies. Helps us have a very happy marriage, as we agree on all financial decisions.

You described my husband and brother and what few friends we have left after being outed as Trump voters and covid skeptics.

Have you or your husband read "Winning Bigly" by Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame)? It's a fascinating, deep-dive analysis into Trump's persuasive skills and strategies and how they played out in the real world, and is ENTIRELY non-partisan. It's very much a "love him or hate him, but check this out" take.

Sorry, the proper title is "Win Bigly: Persuasion in a World Where Facts Don't Matter."

But at the same time, the resulting Trump Derangement Syndrome has helped formerly critically thinking people on the left to become even more so. Anything Trump said, no matter the matter the truth, was seen as a lie by most of my left-leaning friends. That's why I can't even talk to them about ivermectin. It's not just the horse paste propaganda, but they equate it with hydroxychloroquine -- which in their minds is as insane as drinking bleach. What is strange is they seem to have no problem with the vaccines he helped push through now that a new administration has embraced them. Trump really helped destroy the ability many on the left to think clearly and behave consistently. We desperately need a true populist who will unite We the People against Them the Corporation$. Not each other.

"Trump really helped destroy the ability many on the left to think clearly and behave consistently."

I think that media/social media created TDS by brainwashing The Left with anti-Trump rhetoric.

Expand full comment

Same with vaccine mandates...complete brainwashing and virtue signaling.

Exactly right, which is why we can't waste time catering to the feelings of people who want to literally tear down our entire society (by their own admission). The media will ALWAYS back the horse their masters tell them to now and demonize threats- they're no more the Vox Populi anymore than Goebbels was.

If DeSantis replaced Trump as the "reasonable" GOP candidate, the media would just give everyone DDS, which would have nothing to do with dentistry this time. And so on.

I don't think such a thing exists. I'm actually fine with a somewhat polarizing leader. Bad ideas are easier to spot for being bad when they're being screamed incoherently by crazy people.

Not so fast, "And that Republicans have been forced to become the defenders of those least able to defend themselves: non-unionized service employees? In fact, Republicans have defended every type of employee there is: from the busboy at Waffle House to head of neurosurgery at General Hospital."....you should have said SOME Republicans! What about the 80 who voted YEA for the Vaccine Infrastructure Modernization Act? How many are standing for the people being held after Jan 6? We have some in my state who say its not 'conservative' to 'interfere' with private businesses re: jab mandates.

But yes, good to see that some of them do have balls these days!

2022 will be a fascinating, and- I believe- amazing emetic for federal government.

I'm very excited for what it means to the biofascism resistance. I intend to ask every candidate I encounter at a town hall meeting for the rest of my life "will you mandate lockdowns, masks, and vaccines if the WHO declares a pandemic for any reason?" and make it clear I've become a (nearly) one-issue voter.

Here's a neat little Readers Digest wrap up of my visit with a hernia specialist yesterday. Don't ask me how, but at some point the topic of vaccinations came up. He was quick to tell me that people who don't get the shot(s) are "crazy" and prattled on and on for what seemed 10 minutes, even uttering the phrase......wait for it....."People are dying." At this point I go into complete mental white out and distinctly hear this odd combination of Twilight Zone and banjo music. As I masterfully feigned deep interest in his incessant blathering, I deftly start scanning the room for an autographed photo of Fauci. Now, mind you, I'm ready to paste this guy to the wall with all sorts of factual information that he is obviously missing, but alas, discretion being the better part of valor, I had to relent. He does come highly recommended and it's probably not in my best interests to tick off the guy that's going to have me splayed out on a table and has the wherewithal to feed my various organs to his cat. Rest assured that when I get to a "safe zone" we will be having a dandy little talk.

Sad to learn that so many physicians are proud Faucists. One MD friend has a wife pregnant with twins. He proudly announced her recent vaccination on Facebook. Another MD friend posted pictures of his 6 and 8 year old getting vaxxed. They both received praises for being such good parents. Absolutely sickening.

Does anyone know if this crackdown on illegal federal mandates will trickle down to regular employers in the Silicon Valley area who feel they are doing us a service to making people get vaxxed? My job won’t let us travel for events or sales calls unless we have the jab..😝👎🏼

Any employer who requires masks, testing or vaxxes is practicing medicine without a license. You could use that as a basis for a lawsuit.

Expand full comment

I am convinced that the solution to stopping employers from mandating the jab is to force those employers to live within their logic. Most of the employers that I've heard about have rules that run along the lines of: get the jab, or get an exemption and be subject to regular testing and masking because "workplace safety." Since the jabbed are catching and passing the virus, then "workplace safety" means that employers have to demand testing and masking for 100% of employees and visitors. Some portion of the jabbed - those who traded an unwanted vaccination for additional workplace privileges - will be quite displeased at the breach of social contract and the house of cards will crumble.

NYC mandate for private sector employees has not been put on hold by a judge. That hold is for city employees, the lawyer choose her wording inaccurately when she broadcast it out. Alex Berenson has the details.

Easy to verify though, especially as the private sector mandate has yet to come out, all we have so far is DeBozo’s Press Release.

Jeff—please double check your New York City info. Berenson made the same mistake yesterday and sent a correction: Attorney Finn exaggerated the scope of the stay, which does not affect the NYC private employer dictate. It affects NYC employees only.

But I’m certain someone will be filing suit on the public worker dictate promptly!
