What amazes me the most about the FL bill, HB 1557, is that it stopped at the third grade! It's a good start, but simply defers the damaging grooming/sexualization of children until they are ten years old...

Jeff C's avatar

Agree, but there's a method to the madness. By making the bill only apply to K-3 it showed just how extreme and deviant those opposing it truly are. Most parents have no idea this stuff is going on in elementary school. It's now been exposed and it shows just how evil these people are.

Get you kids out of public school now, do not wait! Take a second on your house, borrow from the 401k, beg the grandparents for the money, but do whatever it takes. Do you really want these atheist hedonists raising your children behind your back? Can you afford to take that risk?

Edit: fixed typo

Adding that we should still fight to reform public schools but that will take years (if not decades) and things will certainly get worse before they get better, assuming they actually do get better. Your kids will pay the price in the meantime.

Not trying to make anyone feel guilty here, but hopefully some can learn from our experience. We pulled our two teenage boys out a few years ago, and I wish we had done so sooner (despite the fact we are in a very high performing suburban district). They are now in a fantastic small, conservative Christian high school, and we and our boys could not be happier. At orientation the principal stated, "my vow to you is that your children will *never* be taught anything contrary to the Bible".

Wow. And he meant every word of it and the school proves it daily. My wife now volunteers at the school and we are thrilled. There's no football team, band, or metal shop, but who cares? They are being taught by people that love Jesus, and that is everything.

Good on you Jeff! My grands are homeschooled. My oldest son attended public high school in CA before it completely dissolved into nuttiness. With my two younger kids, we could see the iceberg coming and enrolled them in a private Christian high school. It's never a guarantee, because my daughter went to a liberal Christian college and came out a woke millennial, but it may help.

We just helped a family member get our nephew into private school. The school offered some financial aid via their foundation, his family applied for a state school voucher, and we will pool two families' resources to cover the rest.

Our neighbor took a second job, and his wife quit hers so she could homeschool their two children.

How much effort is too much to avoid harm to our kids?

Gender ideology and CRT are destroying our kids and the future of our society. That is why it's so critical to pass laws allowing the education tax dollars to follow the child! That would destroy the control over our children by federal/state Departments of Education along with the teacher's unions...

But in the meantime, just search homeschooling ~ there are a lot of options and supportive organizations out there.

I have not found one private school in Gainesville excluding Christian ones that do not adhere to the woke agenda. Do you know of any? Kids need socialization so the virtual schools have their own issues. Parenting today is probably the most challenging in history. Monitoring technology content, school curriculum, friends and their parents views, the list is never ending.

A private (non-Christian) school would concern me greatly, one is needed that is explicitly Bible-centered. Unless they are holding to the immortal, unchanging Word of God the school risks being swept along with the latest activist demands and fads. The Bible is the rock that keeps a school anchored in traditional values.

Also, just because a school claims to be Christian that doesn't mean it holds to Biblical values. Some of the woke denominations (e.g. ELCA) have Christian schools so parents need to do their research and understand the differences.

I graduated high school in 1987, at the age of 18. I was 17 when I started my senior year, 12th grade, so that means I was 9 when I started 4th grade. 9 years old is WAY too young to have any of this. Heck, even 13 years old is WAY too young. They should have made it Kindergarten through 8th grade. Most 9th graders haven't had sex and parents should be the ones PRIMARILY and EXCLUSIVELY tasked with the role of addressing this topic, NOT strangers to whom they are NOT accountable.

I was wondering the other day whether the chemical soup we all live in today has any bearing on gender dysphoria. Estrogen imitators in all kinds of chemicals people use in their homes, yards, and the plastics we are exposed to, can have an effect on hormonal development. Frogs exposed to estrogen imitators can even change sex, that was proven years ago. Gender dysphoria seems to be everywhere. Hormones really do make us who we are. They have powerful effects. Think of how you felt when puberty kicked in or for women, each month when menses begins. So maybe something is greatly amiss in our everyday environment that is causing such high rates of gender confusion?

Little children most certainly do not need all of these many vaccines. I like Dr. Paul Thomas’s truncated, slowed down schedule instead. For those who choose no childhood vaccines, I think they have a right to refuse them. I do think they are responsible for the rise in neurological maladies we see so much of today including autism, ADHD. Who knows whether they also contribute to gender dysphoria. No one who wants to study it could ever get the grant money to do so. Instead, they are hounded out of academia if they try.

Expand full comment

Not even most vulnerable. A lot of kids have gender confusion when they are young, it's a natural part of learning who they are. As a tomboy girl growing up I used to say I wanted to be a boy. Not that I really wanted to be a boy, but I enjoyed backyard football and baseball over playing with dolls and still to this day hate wearing dresses. But I am still 100% female and never really wanted to be a boy, I just liked 'boy' stuff. My son went through a phase where he wanted to join cheerleading club my daughter was in. Said he wanted to be a 'girl cheerleader' when he was ~8 YO. He did not want to BE a girl, he just got dragged along to some of her practices and thought it looked like fun. We told him he could sign up as soon as he told us what sport he would be willing to drop (he was already playing football, baseball and basketball) - his answer was 'none'. So we said, no, you have enough to do already, and that was the end of it. He's now 26, married to a woman, and does not even remember this when I asked him about it recently. But afraid that both he and I, were we young kids today, would have been shoved into some kind of path that would not be a good place.

The trans 'community' has the most rigid sex role stereotypes ever.

Expand full comment
CaplT's avatar

Children are naturally curious about where they fit in. Until about 12 years old they are in a latent sexual period where they really only want to know what their parts are, and that a boy grows up and can be a dad, and a girl grows and is the mom. It’s hard enough for a child to imagine her mom as a little girl, much less imagine herself as a woman.

Girls also have to transition from flat chested no-hip children to the changes happening to them and peers. Everyone develops at different times and the ones who are first have different problems from the late bloomers.

The trans marketing leftists take advantage of this and the natural imagination to either want to pee in the woods or to want to try make up.

I am fortunate that our girls PE teacher in HS said to us “it’s natural to be curious about what other (girls) people look like and how you compare. Don’t worry, it will pass, and everyone will hit puberty at some point. You will all be adults, fully developed.”

Wise words.

Julia's avatar

It's a fad supported by $$ and power. Ray Blanchard is a scientist who studied male transsexuals in the 1980s and he noticed that there were 2 types - 1. young, very feminine gay men doing it for social reasons (most of the time you can't tell they're male) 2. middle age masculine heterosexual men with a health condition called autogynephilia, they get arousal out of a mind game imagining themselves as women. Their health condition develops over their lifetime, helped with certain types of porn, they start from transvestism then end up transitioning when they can't control their urges any longer. At this point they have wives and kids, "male" occupations - military, engineering, computers, sports - I bet, you can name some. Some are rich and powerful men and they want the entire world to validate their illusion of being a "woman". There are also medical and pharmaceutical $$ interests. The narrative that kids have "genders" and brainwashing when they're very young serve those interests very well.

CMCM's avatar

My daughter recenly had an interesting talk with a group of men who must have autogynephilia. She and her friends were in a local pub listening to music, and she got into a conversation with several 50-ish men dressed as women. They were clearly men dressed up as women, for what that is worth. They were quite open about how they functioned quite happily as men in their work lives and in most of their daily life, but they enjoyed occasionally going out here and there dressed up as women and having a "girl night out". They emphasized they were not gay, that they were heterosexual.

Same as with masking. A small percentage with mental health problems need a ritual to relieve their debilitating anxiety. A much larger group don't believe in masks/pronouns but wear them to "be nice" and "respect feelings" of the first group. And it's, basically, a disconnect from other people and real problems, when the "nice" person wearing a mask wouldn't notice an elephant of government tyranny in the room.

Yes there is a video compilation on him and the others in his group put into chronological from video on the internet. It is shocking how they removed the gates and signs only one entrance to the property funnel people to the Capitol. People did not know it was restricted. They were told for 45 minutes to move forward into the Capitol and breach the doors.

Entrapment big time. People are in jail for merely being on the property, not even in the building or on the steps.

“If they are finally forced to disclose that Epps was, in fact, a federal stooge, I will mercilessly mock them. For several posts. At least” Whoa! I hope the “at least” part of that statement means that the low-life liars in DC might be held accountable! How about the whole bunch be mercilessly thrown in jail! For a term of no less than that of the innocent American citizens who have been jailed on the basis of lies!

Another great CC morning, Jeff! I wouldn’t be surprised if the leak was intentional because in Seattle up to 75% of classrooms where my children were attending openly identified as being queer and it is fast becoming the strongest signal to being ‘special’ - especially if the kid isn’t a racial minority. Go into any public Roblox world and see how many characters are faceless. Faceless means the avatar is queer. You’ll be SHOCKED that the majority of characters have no face!
