Good morning! So happy to be a subscriber now (should’ve done it from the start)! Speaking of J.D., I finished reading his Hillbilly Elegy yesterday and watched the movie last night. Both were excellent.

It is well worth the almost $10 a week! C&C brings me joy each week: first with the daily email from Jeff, and then with the robust comments, lastly getting the bonus Sunday edition is the cherry on top!!!

Just saw the movie - agreed!

And now I understand the Oscar nomination for Glenn Close. She was terrific.

Welcome Julie to full time duty in the C&C family. Like you I stayed in the six day group for a while but soon felt guilty for not being a full sponsor. Nowhere on the 'net' can a person find such abundant information, education and humor in one place. A bargain for sure. Perhaps there should be a C&C scholarship fund to help those truly caught up in this faltering economy.

Yes and yes! I've never actually been a Glenn Close fan, but she was perfectly suited for this and well deserved that nomination. Knowing what I know now it also brought me to tears to see his mom up on stage with him at the convention. wow. who would ever have guessed?!!

Team Clinton versus Team Obama? Neither.

Trump working behind the scenes last week as Biden was out of commission nursing a dry cough. A DRY COUGH 🤦‍♀️.

It has been refreshing to see libsters talk about the convention in a positive light…lights coming on, people waking up. Yes…there is hope!

Thank you, Jeff, for spreading hope and joy💗.

No Democrats want Joe talking right now. How about that Jill, who happened to hit the campaign trail in Pennsylvania last Saturday, same as Trump, and sucked up the real Secret Service Agents? Has she been out since?

Naomi Wolf has suggested in her new substack that Jill Biden should be the prime suspect in the assassination attempt - a really good read and hilariously titled "Lady Mac Biden." ☺️

I’ll have to look for that. A week before the Assassination attempt, a friend mentioned that she saw a report that Jill had been raised a Mafia Princess; like Meadow Soprano.

The Secret Service and the FBI, both coordinated through the CIA, have been caught lying and have now clammed up. These corrupt bureaucracies do not believe they owe their owners (We the People) anything. Their going silent displays the utter contempt they hold us in. That Congress continues to fund these agencies shows how much contempt the people we supposedly elected to represent our interests hold us in. Why do We the People continue to tolerate this?

We the people continue to tolerate this ??? We the peoples elected representatives are mostly owned ( being blackmailed ) by the Intel/criminal justice ( strong on criminal ). Agencies.

Have not finished to the excellent Juan O Savin interview on Nino's Corner TV, but he has several good points. One, I did not know all of the (original) Clinton dirt papers that went bye bye in the Oklahoma bombing were sent there for "temporary storage" before being sent on to their intended destination, DC. Second, he posited the deep state is not so much interested anymore who is becomes president as they are covering their tracks a la Oklahoma and 9/11 Building 7. They want a war , a civil war here, so that in the fog of war, people both forget about holding them accountable, and they can destroy all of the evidence, as has likely happened in the Ukraine. Makes sense.

I think Mr Cabbage is about to be coleslaw. Happy Sunday everyone. This little song comes to mind:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

All the king's horses and all the king's men

Couldn't put Humpty together again

Humpty Dumpty sat on the ground

Humpty Dumpty looked all around

Gone were the chimneys, gone were the roofs

All he could see were ankles and hooves

Poor old Humpty. 🥚

These attempts to dislodge Biden from Jill’s death grip on the presidency remind me of the time I tried to knock a raccoon off a high perch and out of my house.

The raccoon won. I ended up going back to the movie 🍿 I had been watching, and waiting for Mr. or Miss Raccoon to decide to amble back out the dog door. Which at some point happened apparently.

Expand full comment

My husband’s response to a similar invasion was a well aimed pellet rifle and perma-blocking the dog door. Turned out they were using the chimney too. On the roof with a sword (don’t ask) and tossing bricks down the chimney, as it happens, aren’t as fun as they sound. Or as effective. Had to buy a chimney cage to keep the little buggers out. The joys of adulting.

Psalm 23

R. (1) The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

In verdant pastures he gives me repose;

beside restful waters he leads me;

he refreshes my soul.

R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

He guides me in right paths

for his name's sake.

Even though I walk in the dark valley

I fear no evil; for you are at my side

with your rod and your staff

that give me courage.

R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

You spread the table before me

in the sight of my foes;

you anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

Only goodness and kindness follow me

all the days of my life;

and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD

for years to come.

R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

"[N]one of Biden’s neocons ever mention 'peace,' the 'cost of so many lives,' the 'devastated innocent families,' 'ending the violence,' or paving a 'path forward to prosperity.'”

"Only President Trump talks about those things."

That's not correct. So does RFK, Jr. And he is far more likely to have a coherent plan for actually achieving this than Trump.

What a slick presentation! I don’t believe a word of it. RFK, Jr.is as liberal as Joe Biden and believe me, MAGA is well aware of that.

Expand full comment

I think he is more of a centrist, which is fine with me. He plans to use AI to find and fix waste in government, to use blockchain so anyone can look up what the government is spending our money on, to automatically fire any government employee who lies in their official capacity, and he says he doesn't talk about things he knows he can do it. He talks about the existential threat of our national debt and how he is going to address it. He knows the constitution well and is a fierce supporter of it. None of this seems much like Biden to me - it sounds good, in fact.

Expand full comment

That's doesn't talk about things unless he knows he can do it. ☺️

Expand full comment

His stance on social issues line up with progressives.

Expand full comment

RFK Jr. is not a centrist. He is pro choice which means all the way up to the end of term babies, anti-2nd amendment, green agenda, open borders. If that appeals, then by all means vote for him.

Expand full comment

You are wrong on all of these examples - he is pro choice until the baby is viable without the mother (his most progressive stance), he believes in the constitution (including the 2nd amendment), his "green agenda" is regenerative agriculture which is to improve soils and to remove all subsidies for energy and let a free market win, and he went to the border and saw what a disaster it is and will immediately secure it. This is what his platform on these issues is.

Expand full comment

That’s why we have chocolate and vanilla… you can trumpet him if you choose but I am not persuaded that he is the best choice for President. I like many of his characteristics as a person but I remain a firm and committed supporter of Trump.

Please!! He is a progressive liberal elite with absolutely no experience in this. He is a green deal supporter. He is a climate activist. He voted for Clinton, Obama and Biden and would do so again. He is only concerned about autism in children caused by the ingredients in vaccines which affect the gut which causes the autism. He was for the mandates and for locking people up who refused to go along with them. He treats women shamefully. He is connected to the CIA and Hollywood. His shirtless picture reminded me of Weiner's pictures on his computer. And he decided on an extreme liberal for his running mate. Gag me with a spoon.

I so welcome the truth of C&C at the expense of the obese, manipulated major media alternatives. Boris Johnson and Zelensky both endorsing Trump is telling. With Trump they have a known / an answer. With Biden they are placed on hold while Biden consults his staff for answers. Staff means multiple opinions which means multiple answer possibilities, hence multiple answers. The secret Service and the FBI must now attempt to soft shoe the security denial straight arming of both Trump and RFK, Jr.. Ironically; the only current candidate needing no security is Biden, as he is already toast / written off. My highest praise for the administration "forced to grapple with their worst enemy: the truth".

I've just been thinking about Crowdstrike today-- I didn't know about the Crowdstrike debacle till it was well over. A few weeks ago, ChatGPT gave me instructions that really worked, to finally block Microsoft from ever accessing my computer again and moving all my sh-t around. Never again! There's just a sad little icon at the bottom right of my screen alerting me to available new updates. Haha, you wish, MS!

Nice! I did this exchange with CHTP:

“I own a windows pc. It is my personal computer. What settings do I change to prevent Microsoft from automatically updating the software operating system without me approving? “

ChatGTP

To prevent Microsoft from automatically updating the operating system on your Windows PC and require manual approval before updates are installed, you can follow these steps:

1. Using Group Policy (Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education):

* Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.

* Type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.

* Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update.

* Find and double-click on Configure Automatic Updates.

* Select Disabled to turn off automatic updates. If you want to enable manual updates, select 2 - Notify for download and notify for install.

* Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.

2. Using Registry Editor (Windows 10 Home or other editions):

* Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.

* Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

* Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU.

* If you don't see WindowsUpdate or AU, you may need to create these keys manually.

* Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named NoAutoUpdate and set its value to 1 to disable automatic updates.

* If you want to enable manual updates, set NoAutoUpdate to 0.

* Close the Registry Editor after making changes.

3. Configure Active Hours:

* Even with updates set to manual, Windows may still occasionally restart to apply critical updates. To avoid unexpected restarts, configure Active Hours:

* Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update.

* Click on Change active hours and set the times when you typically use your PC. Windows won't automatically restart during active hours.

4. Pause Updates (Windows 10 Home and Pro):

* You can pause updates temporarily for up to 35 days:

* Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update.

* Click on Advanced options.

* Under Pause updates, toggle the switch to turn it on and set the date until when updates will be paused.

By following these steps, you can control when updates are installed on your Windows PC and prevent automatic updates without your approval. Note that keeping your system updated is important for security and stability, so it's recommended to install updates regularly, but with control over timing to suit your needs.

“Excellent! I will try that. “

ChatGPT

Great! If you have any more questions or need further assistance while adjusting your Windows update settings, feel free to ask. Good luck with configuring your preferences!
