"Justice Thomas was Judge Cannon’s law clerk."

Judge Cannon was Justice Thomas's law clerk. Regardless, outstanding round-up. I am particularly grateful for your rational breakdown of the Trump decision. I kept shouting, "That's not what it means" as local liberals were plunging to their death from nearby bridges and tall buildings.

At first I thought Jeff made a mistake too. But then I realized he was saying Thomas was acting in the way a law clerk for Cannon would act, i.e., providing an outline and script to knock down Smith's position.

Thank you. So much for my knee-jerk attempt at humor. I knew Judge Cannon was super-smart in law school and a law clerk, so I just assumed.

From Wikipedia: "From 2008 to 2009, Cannon served as a law clerk for Steven Colloton, a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in Iowa."

Wouldn't it be great if a President who nominated a SCOTUS Justice could also, at will... remove them? I think Koward Kav and ACB would both be gone when TRUMP returns...

I would say I've been mostly pleased with recent rulings. Even if our own case was a disappointment. I just seem to notice ACB ruling the other way a bit on some key issues. Weirdly, KBJ sometimes makes rulings like she has some integrity, and not playing politics on the bench. But then also she rules via the party lines ensuring she is a crazy liberal.

I'll also be watching my neighbor with the 'yuge Trump and Gadsden flags who spends the weekend shooting AR-15s with his sons on his farm. The demonic influence is from Satan and it is everywhere. People need to get ka-boomed out of their complacency and see what is happening in the world and how their media does do exactly as you said, subterfuge and propaganda. The more netflix crap watched, the less sensitized people are to the truly evil. It has been going on for a long time...frogs in the pot analogy and all that. I know what I know and I don't need to read about it, but I do realize some people have NO clue what lives in their midst. And...just because I might choose to NOT read about so called subterfuge does not disappear the realm of principalities and powers that are truly in control of this spiritual battle happening right now. Ignorance is bliss, but it doesn't win the war. Thanks for the input...I appreciate it.

Tell me, someone please...when did the "military/industrial complex" morph into the term "neocons"???

Expand full comment
John Cougar Misanthrope's avatar

I like this explanation from a post by Thomas Gallagher on Quora:

"Conservatism is a political philosophy that values tradition and established practices over social progress and new ideas. This isn't saying it's purely reactionary; anyone who believes recent developments in a particular area were harmful and should be reversed could be considered conservative in that area, e.g "I hate how cellphones have destroyed face-to-face communication!" In the United States, conservatism has traditionally identified with keeping with the spirit of the Founding Fathers; limited government, non-intervention in foreign affairs, a free market, and strong personal liberties.

Conservatism typically switches between parties; depending on the time, the coalitions they build, and the ideas that are popular. Now, Republicans are considered more conservative, but that wasn't always the case.

Neoconservatism (and the older conservatism, now called Paleoconservatism) represent an offshoot of conservative thought that emerged during the Cold War. Since Communism, the antithesis of all conservative ideals, seemed to be rapidly growing in strength during the 50's, many Conservatives began to question the wisdom non-intervention in other countries, a school of thought already badly discredited by World War II. Their brand of "New" Conservatism placed great weight on the strength of the military, the interaction of industry and the government, and a powerful investment in industry and science. As a result, many tenets of Paleoconservatism (older conservatism) were dropped; Government spending vastly increased, personal liberties were tempered with security concerns, and many wars and coups were started in the aim of increasing American power, although a strong moral puritanism remained.

Neoconservatism reached its peak under the administration of George W. Bush, but became deeply unpopular as a result of the Iraq War and the financial meltdown.

So to wrap this up,

Conservatives: Back to Basics (Tea Party)

-limited government

-restrained spending

-moral values

-free market

-smaller military

-strong personal liberties

Paleo-Conservatives: Democracy with a Heavy Dose of Patriotism (Most Republicans now)

-limited government

-restrained spending in theory, often deficit spending

-moral values

-free market

-strong military

-certain liberties emphasized (Strong moralist streak)

Neo-Conservatives: America the Powerful

(Cheney, Bush, Reagan)

-big government

-deficit spending

-moral values

-military-industrial-financial complex (big business)

-strong and very active military

-heavy government surveillance, strong police

Basic overview, enjoy!

Perhaps but what I meant is that our culture went through a fundamental and obvious morality change..I remember it clearly through television (everyone was having sex from the older ladies on Golden Girls to Frasier) and pop music took a sexual turn . Religious observation was being replaced by Sunday morning sports practice for children, brunch or jogs for adults. (I remember my Priest being upset about that.) Church going, Sunday school, was no longer the 'thing to do'. Clinton was talking about his wife's necromancy practice of communicating with Eleanor Roosevelt as if it was something everyone did. And his WH antics...

no one will forget, especially the children who were exposed to it and according to a middle school Principal I knew, emulating it behind the bleachers in groups.

Soros started buying up journalism schools and media outlets after Clinton in 2003 and the NWO agenda was in getting a foothold. The next year, the EU consciously removed all mention of its Christian foundation from its constitution.

All this on the surface. God only knows below the surface what was going on.
