As seen by His reception in Israel where he was rejected by the religious establishment, it is up to the people rather or not to accept Him. If My Kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews..."
The implicit idea that the Lord's "favor" on a specific people is license to kill those not so favored is anathema to everything Christ taught. Such behavior will be judged by the King who now sits on His throne at the right hand of the Father as the judge over all the earth and history.
I really do agree with this. But I also agree that each one of us, nations included, have a right to defend ourselves from those who wish to use their own religion to grab a license to “wipe from the face of the earth” all those who are identified as Israel. It works both ways.

I agree we all "have a right to defend ourselves" from actual attack. But we do not have a right to attack someone else because we are afraid of their beliefs, even if YOU believe they want to “wipe (you) from the face of the earth”. Your definition of "defend" seems to go beyond defense and enters the prohibition of The Sixth Commandment against murder.
“Seems to” are the key words here. I do not support that. When another religion actually teaches in its doctrine that they need to wipe you from the face of the earth, that’s not enough in my book to preemptively attack.
But when they spend decades attacking you and your citizens and cozying up to terrorist organizations to undermine you with terrorist attacks, while they lie and deceive the world with propaganda - and then do an outward 9/11 or 10/7 attack, a response is necessary and nobody gets to dictate how proportional that response is - as they never do for themselves. There’s a double standard in this world.

I’m tired of people being bullied ruthlessly and then when they fight back using the same tactics as the bullies because nothing else works, they get labeled as the bully while the bullies feign innocence. It’s happening in our own political landscape right now, and it happens the same way between countries at war.

If we look at the history of the past couple thousand years, we’ll see that, in actuality, everybody was killing everybody else. The Roman pagans killed about 2 million Jews in the city of Jerusalem when they fulfilled Jesus’s prophecy about one stone of the temple not standing upon another, which would not have happened if they had not rejected Jesus.
God said “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and because you have rejected knowledge, I have rejected you…” and I think that because of this, Israel is pretty much SOL. Even still today.
But following the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. The Jews, in conjunction with the Roman pagans, began to kill the followers of ‘the Way’ (later name changed to Christians). And then after Constantine stopped that and Christianity began to be accepted by the Roman Empire, the Christians turned around and started killing the Jews and the pagans (go figure) while at the same time the Roman Christian empire was busy killing Muslims.
That lasted until Muhammad came along and kicked some Roman catholic/Christian butt and took over Jerusalem. That lasted for a few hundred years and then the catholic/Christians mounted their deadly crusades and killed some Muslims again. I don’t know what the Jews were doing at this time, but I have to assume they were killing somebody.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the King James Version Bible, but for those who prefer the KJV over any other, may I remind you that there is not a single J in the original 1611 version. No Jeremiah, no Joshua, no Jesus. There were also 81 books in the original version, not 66. You’re reading a modern REVISION of the original 1611 translation. My point is, as with science and just about everything else in life, including the Bible we know and love today, nothing is as you think it is.
Well, old English is definitely spelled differently than today. I have a copy of the 1599 Geneva Bible which predates KJ and was first published in 1560.
I’ve referenced the Geneva Bible as well Phil, and find it to be pretty cool. Here’s an item of interest from that old book;
When the new ones refer to “powers and principalities in high places”, the Geneva used the words “governments in high places” (go figure, why the change?)

My understanding of that passage "powers, principalities in high places" speaks to a hierarchy of dark spiritual forces. like Governor, Mayor, Councilman, etc. or military Lieutenant, Captain, Colonel, General, Major, etc.
I can only point out that the original words were highly "inconvenient" for the rulers and governments.
And you raise a good point. Based on the totality of Scripture, God is concerned with our "behavior" as His law demonstrates, not our "conversations". Again, the original words were too inconvenient.
The original “governments in high places” is explicitly saying that civil government is subject to a higher law, God's law. This is something that was even acknowledged in the Declaration of Independence but ever since then, America has done everything possible to avoid and bury the truth, that the State is subject to God's Law.
The SCRIPTURES from the Scripture Research Institute and the BOOK OF YAHWEH from the House of Yahweh are the only 2 non-paganized, non-falsified versions I have found. They both retain the Father's name and the Son's name, unlike all the variations of the KJV.
Hi Jeff. Although I am not familiar with the 2 versions you mentioned, I kinda like your implication that all the other versions are paganized and falsified. However, I have enough faith in God to think that there’s nothing in them that he don’t want in there. I’m sure it’s well within his power to control the content within the versions, although I think that some of them are certainly not worth reading at all.
What interests me, though is your claim about them retaining the father‘s name and the son’s name.
I like this verse in proverbs 30:4; “Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know!”
There seems to be much confusion and no real agreement among the religions of the world as to what those names are. For example, the leaders of the Jehovah witnesses in their Insight on the Scriptures books admit that the name Jehovah is simply man’s best guess.
Seems like the Jews won’t say his name, I’m not sure if they even know it, and I don’t know enough about Muslims to know where they got the name Allah.
Anyway, the part of that verse that I like the best is this; “What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know!” I’ve often considered what is God‘s name, although we’re pretty sure of what the son‘s name is, with the only argument being about what language you’re gonna say it in.
But what really is the father‘s name? And who named him? ‘God’ is obviously a title and not a name so when somebody says ‘God damn’, they’re actually not taking God‘s name in vain, seems to me. So we have, l think, a conundrum. How can we possibly take his name in vain if we don’t even know what it is?

So I think the confusion that exists from this portion of the book is based on the fact that he did not say that “my name is ‘I am’”, but instead says “this is my name” after he said; “The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”
The confusion over which vowels to put in between those four consonants for ‘Lord’ is still a problem today in all of the versions of the book apparently. Nobody seems to know for sure which vowels to use. And then you got to question whether or not it’s just that one word that is his name, but should the whole phrase be considered God’s name. The way the sentence is worded, it would seem like that would be the case. Now we could shorten it to just ‘Lord’, as has been done, or we could just call him the God of Abraham, which also works. Otherwise, his name becomes quite a mouthful to say.
I would like to point out that Jesus never told us what God‘s name is, which seems to me to be a glaring omission if God actually has a name.

Jesus specifically says to love God above all, and love you Neighbor as yourself. So because I LOVE GOD ABOVE ALL, I WILL NOT SEEK MY NEIGHBOR's harm.... and I live in the midst of what anyone would call the United Nations.... Asians, Middle Eastern, Europeans, Hispanics, etc. When one is taught that ALL life is precious and created by ONE God, then life is respected and nourished. And you are right about Pentecost. It was the pouring out of the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ on earth that empowered them to bring the gospel to the gentiles thus fulfilling the "Great Commission" to go and disciple the nations.
Your second version of Luke 2:14 is not a revision. That translation is well-attested by the ancient manuscripts and supported by all of the earliest sources. I, personally, believe this reading is correct, because God is a just judge. His favor rests on those who obey his Law and accept his Anointed One. I can’t imagine his favor would rest on those who flout his Law or spit in the face of the Savior. To suggest otherwise is to suggest that God doesn’t care how anybody acts or how they believe. That doesn’t fit any definition of justice.
I agree. I don’t think the version is wrong either. But twisting the words to fit one’s narrative is. I do believe His favor rests on those who accept Christ and walk in His will. Using this verse to wage war is simply an excuse to wage war.

Your statements are correct but I do not believe that is the subject of this text. The context for the heavenly host praising God in v.14 is the preceding passage in verses (emphasis mine)...
10 And the angel said unto them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL PEOPLE.
11 For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
The subject of verse 14 is not God's judgement or those deserving of His "favor". This verse is referencing God's sovereign grace offer of redemption to ALL mankind through the life of His incarnate Son who will be sacrificed for their rebellion. So, technically speaking, the KJV of "and on earth peace, good will toward men" is accurate. God's "good will" is offered to all men. It is up to men to accept His offer of salvation... or not. This is the meaning given in verse 11, a Savior offered for ALL PEOPLE.
I am reading the OT again and the Jews keep messing up yet God continues to show them favor over and over if they will just repent and get back on track. The whole OT is about this over and over and over. I should have started counting how many times the Jewish nation turned against God. It is exhausting. And then what they did in the NT with Jesus. Thank you for giving me a chance to clarify. Lots of Christians get wrapped around the axle when you mention the Law of Moses. And a lot of Christians have been taught that the Law was abolished at the Cross.
My view is that obeying the Law of Moses will not save you. Only the grace of God by way of the sacrifice of Christ will save you. Christ’s atonement for us saved us from the PENALTY of the Law, which is death. It didn’t abolish the Law itself.
So, the Law still exists, and we are still required to do our best to keep it. If the Law didn’t exist, then sin wouldn’t exist, because the Biblical definition of sin IS transgression of the Law. And if sin doesn’t exist, then our Messiah is unnecessary.
1 John 3 goes on to say that “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil,” and “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he CANNOT keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God.”
This passage of Scripture is one of many that lead me to believe that being a child of God isn’t just a spiritual thing. “God’s SEED (DNA) abides in him.” It’s literally a physical thing. We carry His divine genome inside of us. It is the thing that allows us to be drawn to Christ, similar to an instinct.
Yeshua is called the Second Adam because he is only the second human being to ever appear on Earth who possessed a perfect divine human genome in the Image of God. Adam had it before the Fall.
As a matter of fact, I think Adam got his genome from Yeshua, because Colossians tells us that the Son was the first born of all creation. That sounds to me like Yeshua was the very first thing that the Creator made. So, Adam would be kind of like his little brother. 😊
The corruption of Adam’s genome is the reason all of us have been born into sin. We have literally inherited a damaged genome from Adam.
The blood of Christ is our vaccination against eternal death. It is how we will be resurrected. His perfect blood washes us clean of all our sin, i.e. heals our damaged genome and restores it to the original divine genome that was given to Adam.
That opens up an interesting can of worms, though. And that is, who are the children of the devil? Do they carry a satanic genome?
I theorize that there are at least two different bloodlines on Earth: the bloodline of Adam, and the bloodline of the Serpent, as referenced in Genesis 3:15. And maybe there are other bloodlines of other supernatural entities here also, bloodlines that were here before God placed his image on Earth.
That may sound heretical, but I actually think a very good Biblical case can be made for that. Numerous passages of Scripture talk about genealogies, ancestries, seed, wheat and tares, children of God, pagans, giants, children of the Devil.
The story of Cain in Genesis 3 is particularly interesting. If there were other bloodlines of humans on Earth at that time, that might explain why Cain was scared to death of being murdered by other people after God banished him, and it would explain where his wife came from, why he went on to build a city, and why there was already a place near Eden called Nod.
All of this makes perfect sense to me and explains a lot in my mind about what’s really going on in the Bible and why we are here on this Earth, although I suspect the typical Christian would be skeptical, if not horrified or downright angry. It wouldn’t surprise me, or offend me, if I was even considered a heretic. 😊

Timing is often amazing. In the past week or so I have toyed with the thought that we are older than we think; spiritually that is. God didn't create me to be a scholar, not even close. But I think He did give me a capacity to think logically, from time to time anyway.
I say that to mention I know Scripture tells us God knew us before Creation. That's a paraphrase because I don't remember exactly where it is in Scripture. I think the general interpretIon of the verse(s) is He knew He was going to create us long before He did; that may be all He meant but I wonder if He didn't mean more, spiritually. I don't know, but it is interesting enough for me to consider.

I assume when you speak of genomes you mean it in the physical sense; fascinating to consider! But, if it's physical DNA then what about family members? How did the DNA not necessarily apply to some of them?

We are told that once we accept Jesus through His death, resurrection and ascension then we are, spiritually, descendants of Abraham. Not genetically, but spiritually. So using your theory, might it apply in the spiritual sense?

Koine Greek (not the same as contemporary Greek any more than American English is the same as "King James Bible" English) is one of the languages of the Bible. There's also Hebrew and Aramaic.
There are many, many “foremost“ scholars of the Bible, and there have been for thousands of years. The problem is, all of them bring pre-existing biases and differing levels of scholarship to their interpretations and translations. That is precisely why there are over 400 different translations of the Bible in English. That’s not a criticism, it just a reality.
The KJV is a good translation, but it’s not without its problems. Deuteronomy 32:8 is a perfect example. The KJV reads “sons of Israel,” which makes no sense because Israel did not yet exist in the Table of Nations that is being referenced.
The reason the KJV reads this way is because the committee of KJV translators used the Masoretic Text for their translation which dates from 600-900 AD, whereas the Dead Sea Scrolls from 300-100 BC say, “sons of God,” and the Septuagint from the mid-200s BC says, “angels of God.”
Incidentally, the Bible that Yeshua and his Disciples read, studied and quoted from was the Septuagint.

I will say, in addition, that the disagreement or arguments about which version is best is, at best, a distraction, simply based on the idea that reading the Bible is worthless to anybody unless they are seeking God with their whole heart and God is giving them the understanding of what they’re reading. Based on that idea, then the different versions can be used by God to increase the knowledge of the person that’s reading them. Lately, though I will admit that some of the new versions are best left unread, however, I have found versions like the NLT, the NIV, the ESV, the NASB, the KJV, and some others to be useful.
They all share this in common though, every one of them has got some problem. There’s not one of them that’s flawless, no not one. They are each of them like the field that Jesus described the kingdom of heaven to be like where the man was searching for treasure. The field that he was searching in was a field inhabited by livestock so he had to watch where he was walking to avoid stepping in the BS. Reading any of the versions of today’s Bible is the same as searching for treasures in that field

I no longer use the NIV. Much better translations are available. It was revised in 1982 and isn’t the same. The New King James, the Passion Translation, the Amplified Version are just a few of my favorites.

We have bike lanes even in north central Massachusetts, and we rarely see any bicycles using them. Bike lanes also don't work in New England for at least 5 months out of the year (Nov-March).
As someone who rode their bike to school, to work, etc. from Jr high school through law school, I can attest to the fact that snow put me back to walking or on the bus (Minnesota). Also - during all of the time that bikes were my preferred form of transportation, we never had a bike lane and I never had an accident (and I did ride on busy streets). Now living in Grants Pass, OR, bikes could be used most of the year (providing you are in good enough shape to ride up and down the hills), but I have NEVER seen anyone using the bike lanes that they keep adding.
The bike lanes they keep adding here in San Diego no one uses is taking away what was precious parking space. Even in my own neighborhood they took away half of the median parking and then added bike lanes that no one uses taking away even more parking spaces.

As someone who has liven in Eagle for several years I can testify to the fact that people here were, in general, were more sane (conservative). The issue is always the same everywhere. liberal or progressive attitudes and their inevitable actions is the definition of "mission creep", as in all neighborhoods that harbor loons. it's still relatively calm here but my advice is "stay strapped" like most residents do. It is the best deterrent!

I've heard if a lot of people who are struggling with mental illness after the vaxx as well as with long covid. I think it is harder to see.....mental disabilities often are. At first I was just against the mRNA jab because I know one person who died from it and three with heart problems after taking it.

This worldview leads nowhere good. "Let us reason together:" Anyone that believes God created humans that evolved from other species or even that physically change over time into superior versions of humans are by the original definition of the word: Racists. You simply can't have "Survival of the Fittest" without have the "Naturally less fit for survival."
This worldview also inexorably leads to unreasonable conclusions because non-evolutionary conclusions are either not considered, or consideration stops once an evolutionary take is accepted. Consider viruses and the ever fear inducing "super bug." Which is the more reasonable conclusion: 1. Bad bacteria have evolved a resistance to antibiotics. 2. The human immune system is so much depleted that even with the help of antibiotics it is not enough to fight off the infection.
If you accept the first, you are left with trying more and varied ways to kill off the biom, good or bad.
If you accept the second possibility, you seek ways to 1.) stop the decline of the immune system and 2.) look for methods to improve the immune system instead of tricking it into attacking the body it tries to protect.

I first read about this on X and was shocked at the amount of posts painting RFKJr as who is to blame and the attacks on anti-vaxxers. I wish there were an easy way to get more people to read Jeff’s reporting. The lies are dominating even X, and any rebuttals I post land like a lump of wet mud out of the gate given I’m a nobody account, probably purposefully censored in some way too. (I forget the word that describes having your posts buried and hidden from views.) If more people could see an analysis like Jeff’s, we could overcome the power of the lies.

Federal government employment has more safeguards regarding workers rights than a civilian non-union shop. We would always joke it is next to impossible to fire a federal government employee.
I would think that a union would be OK for the technical people - HVAC guys, cleaners, etc. But, it seems weird that admin or support staff would need to be in a union.

I have a wee cat at the vet right now, for a spay. I asked the staff if the pet vaccines they use are made with mRNA technology, and I said do not vaccinate my cat. They just called me and the vets said they will never use those mRNA vaccines. So it is real. And it's very important to ask. I'll pick her up this afternoon.

Are you talking about veterinarians BFM? Rabies is the only vax required by law and even then, you can blood titer instead. You can also get a Rabies vax waiver for aged dogs/cats and those with chronic disease or those that have sustained vaccine events prior even by other vaccine like dog flu, Leptospirosis vax, feline leukemia etc. When vets lost their in clinic pharmacy income to competitors like Chewy and PetMeds, vaccines become very important to sustain income.
I just took my puppy to a new vet and told them he was never having any shots other than the one DHPP given by the breeder. I told her I was a crazy antivaxxer 🤣. She smiled and said no problem and I signed the waiver against rabies.

Pet vaccines are not required by law. The only ‘vax’ mandated, by most states, is rabies. All other vax are promoted by vets (for profit). Even the big grooming establishments only require the rabies vax.
You run into problems if you need your pet boarded (vets and businesses arbitrarily ‘require’ vaccinations). Have a friend or relative take of your beloved pet while you’re away. You’ll be saving their lives.

I think our Bernese Mountain dog died as the result of the vaccines. She was perfectly fine. We left her with the vet while we were away for the weekend and she couldn't get up on her hind legs. I had been confirmed for Lyme disease and she tested negative. I regret so much giving her those vaccines before her 8th birthday! We had to put our sweet girl down the day after her birthday. Horrendous!

Local vet here in my town just moved over to a small practice, as the one she was with was bought out by a big corporation. And policy was ALL cats had to have rabies jab...regardless if indoor only. That's BS! The vet has 4 indoor cats of her own and was "I'm outta here!" Kudos to her.
Agree as far as possible. Rabies is legally required, but I put that off as long as I can. But since I compete with my dogs and because we have lots of wildlife around, I do eventually comply. I also know someone who had a litter of puppies that they did not vaccinate for parvo, and they all died from parvo, so that is another one that might be appropriate to get. Any vets here?

We’ll have to wait and see. A number of states mandate childhood vaccinations for public school enrollment while simultaneously prohibiting religious or medical exemptions. There are many battles yet to be fought in this war. Covid showed us that large numbers of the public actually support mandatory vaccination, so people need to be taught WHY coerced medical interventions are evil. Just had to buy one for a new used car for our son. I haven’t bought a car in a long time nor had a new policy, and our cars have been aging so our premiums go down each year. The new quote on a 2012 used car blew my mind. Way cheaper than if it were newer, but still equal to what I remembered a monthly car payment being! It was surreal. And the average car loan for a new/newer car is what a mortgage used to be! But the property depreciates as fast as a toilet flushing. It’s insane. So glad we coached him to buy older and pay cash so that any remaining financing can easily be paid off in under 6-12 months. It was like we were frozen in time for a quarter of a century and emerged to a highly expensive future.

Sadly, humans have been shown to be terrible "watchers." In airplanes, pilots get lazy on autopilot. Proven fact. I am going to stand back and watch for a while before I get too concerned. The way the internet failures go (including our Starlink), autocars are still a bad idea. I think the more we see them used, the more issues we will see. Just like AI. At least I hope so, because I think it is too soon for driverless vehicles, unless it's the monorail at Disney. I sure don’t want airplanes without two pilots!
Think of the current L2/L3 driver assistance as having a second pilot in the cockpit.
On its own it may not be safer than a driver by itself but paired together you get higher safety.
These systems above are not meant to be 'standalone' they are meant to complement the driver.
I've driven a good 60k miles with basic auto pilot (BAP) and about 2k miles with 'FSD Supervised' as Tesla calls it. Both are L2/L3
BAP is practically flawless on the highway (not hard to keep it between the lines and to maintain safe following distances). Rural divided highways you can usually camp in the right lane so no need to for lane changing ability.
FSD is also brilliant on the highway and on urban expressways with heavy traffic (I had to go through a major city day of the solar eclipse with FSD - it was a very chill experience)
FSD on town/city streets I have little experience with because I almost never used it in town due to the need for a destination being entered - kinda silly to do in a small town
Full on Level 5 no interaction/attention from the driver (Robo-taxi) is probably better than the average human driver now - its just that there are a few ways it would fail that a human would not and that would grab a headline. Even though on net it might be safer, the failures 'bleed' and so they lead.
Jeff you can keep your robot taxi and all the other self driving cars. I for one don’t want any part of them. The issues for public control by govt are just too enormous. If you think the pandemic was bad just wait until the majority of transportation is controlled in some secret data center by some faceless bureaucrats.

If we look at the history of the past couple thousand years, we’ll see that, in actuality, everybody was killing everybody else. The Roman pagans killed about 2 million Jews in the city of Jerusalem when they fulfilled Jesus’s prophecy about one stone of the temple not standing upon another, which would not have happened if they had not rejected Jesus.
God said “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and because you have rejected knowledge, I have rejected you…” and I think that because of this, Israel is pretty much SOL. Even still today.
But following the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. The Jews, in conjunction with the Roman pagans, began to kill the followers of ‘the Way’ (later name changed to Christians). And then after Constantine stopped that and Christianity began to be accepted by the Roman Empire, the Christians turned around and started killing the Jews and the pagans (go figure) while at the same time the Roman Christian empire was busy killing Muslims.
That lasted until Muhammad came along and kicked some Roman catholic/Christian butt and took over Jerusalem. That lasted for a few hundred years and then the catholic/Christians mounted their deadly crusades and killed some Muslims again. I don’t know what the Jews were doing at this time, but I have to assume they were killing somebody.
Incidentally, CM, I think you need to look at the Spanish inquisition a little more closely, because I’m not sure if it was focused so much on the Jews as it was just on anybody in general. It was pretty much just the Catholic Church doing what it does best

Don’t get me wrong, I love the King James Version Bible, but for those who prefer the KJV over any other, may I remind you that there is not a single J in the original 1611 version. No Jeremiah, no Joshua, no Jesus. There were also 81 books in the original version, not 66. You’re reading a modern REVISION of the original 1611 translation. My point is, as with science and just about everything else in life, including the Bible we know and love today, nothing is as you think it is.
Well, old English is definitely spelled differently than today. I have a copy of the 1599 Geneva Bible which predates KJ and was first published in 1560.
I’ve referenced the Geneva Bible as well Phil, and find it to be pretty cool. Here’s an item of interest from that old book;
When the new ones refer to “powers and principalities in high places”, the Geneva used the words “governments in high places” (go figure, why the change?)
And this one from the King James Version; in old English, the word ‘conversations’ meant ‘behavior’ and not speech, although the new versions of the KJV retain the word ‘conversations’, they should’ve changed it to ‘behavior’

My understanding of that passage "powers, principalities in high places" speaks to a hierarchy of dark spiritual forces. like Governor, Mayor, Councilman, etc. or military Lieutenant, Captain, Colonel, General, Major, etc.
I can only point out that the original words were highly "inconvenient" for the rulers and governments.
And you raise a good point. Based on the totality of Scripture, God is concerned with our "behavior" as His law demonstrates, not our "conversations". Again, the original words were too inconvenient.
The original “governments in high places” is explicitly saying that civil government is subject to a higher law, God's law. This is something that was even acknowledged in the Declaration of Independence but ever since then, America has done everything possible to avoid and bury the truth, that the State is subject to God's Law.
The SCRIPTURES from the Scripture Research Institute and the BOOK OF YAHWEH from the House of Yahweh are the only 2 non-paganized, non-falsified versions I have found. They both retain the Father's name and the Son's name, unlike all the variations of the KJV.
Hi Jeff. Although I am not familiar with the 2 versions you mentioned, I kinda like your implication that all the other versions are paganized and falsified. However, I have enough faith in God to think that there’s nothing in them that he don’t want in there. What interests me, though is your claim about them retaining the father‘s name and the son’s name.
I like this verse in proverbs 30:4; “Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know!”
There seems to be much confusion and no real agreement among the religions of the world as to what those names are. For example, the leaders of the Jehovah witnesses in their Insight on the Scriptures books admit that the name Jehovah is simply man’s best guess.
Seems like the Jews won’t say his name, I’m not sure if they even know it, and I don’t know enough about Muslims to know where they got the name Allah.
Anyway, the part of that verse that I like the best is this; “What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know!” I’ve often considered what is God‘s name, although we’re pretty sure of what the son‘s name is, with the only argument being about what language you’re gonna say it in.
But what really is the father‘s name? And who named him? ‘God’ is obviously a title and not a name so when somebody says ‘God damn’, they’re actually not taking God‘s name in vain, seems to me. So we have, l think, a conundrum. How can we possibly take his name in vain if we don’t even know what it is?
The church leaders say his name is ‘I am’, however, he didn’t say that was his name. He just told Moses to tell the sons of Israel that’s who sent him. (I think he was a little po’d that Moses even asked him his name, which would be the case, I think, if he didn’t have a name and that Moses should’ve figured that out)

So I think the confusion that exists from this portion of the book is based on the fact that he did not say that “my name is ‘I am’”, but instead says “this is my name” after he said; “The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”
The confusion over which vowels to put in between those four consonants for ‘Lord’ is still a problem today in all of the versions of the book apparently. Nobody seems to know for sure which vowels to use. And then you got to question whether or not it’s just that one word that is his name, but should the whole phrase be considered God’s name. The way the sentence is worded, it would seem like that would be the case. Now we could shorten it to just ‘Lord’, as has been done, or we could just call him the God of Abraham, which also works. Otherwise, his name becomes quite a mouthful to say.
I would like to point out that Jesus never told us what God‘s name is, which seems to me to be a glaring omission if God actually has a name.

Your second version of Luke 2:14 is not a revision. That translation is well-attested by the ancient manuscripts and supported by all of the earliest sources. I, personally, believe this reading is correct, because God is a just judge. His favor rests on those who obey his Law and accept his Anointed One. I can’t imagine his favor would rest on those who flout his Law or spit in the face of the Savior. To suggest otherwise is to suggest that God doesn’t care how anybody acts or how they believe. That doesn’t fit any definition of justice.

Your statements are correct but I do not believe that is the subject of this text. The context for the heavenly host praising God in v.14 is the preceding passage in verses (emphasis mine)...
10 And the angel said unto them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL PEOPLE.
11 For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
The subject of verse 14 is not God's judgement or those deserving of His "favor". This verse is referencing God's sovereign grace offer of redemption to ALL mankind through the life of His incarnate Son who will be sacrificed for their rebellion. So, technically speaking, the KJV of "and on earth peace, good will toward men" is accurate. God's "good will" is offered to all men. It is up to men to accept His offer of salvation... or not. This is the meaning given in verse 11, a Savior offered for ALL PEOPLE.
I am reading the OT again and the Jews keep messing up yet God continues to show them favor over and over if they will just repent and get back on track. Thank you for giving me a chance to clarify. Lots of Christians get wrapped around the axle when you mention the Law of Moses. And a lot of Christians have been taught that the Law was abolished at the Cross.
My view is that obeying the Law of Moses will not save you. Only the grace of God by way of the sacrifice of Christ will save you. Christ’s atonement for us saved us from the PENALTY of the Law, which is death. It didn’t abolish the Law itself.
So, the Law still exists, and we are still required to do our best to keep it. If the Law didn’t exist, then sin wouldn’t exist, because the Biblical definition of sin IS transgression of the Law. And if sin doesn’t exist, then our Messiah is unnecessary.
1 John 3 goes on to say that “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil,” and “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he CANNOT keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God.”
This passage of Scripture is one of many that lead me to believe that being a child of God isn’t just a spiritual thing. “God’s SEED (DNA) abides in him.” It’s literally a physical thing. We carry His divine genome inside of us. It is the thing that allows us to be drawn to Christ, similar to an instinct.
Yeshua is called the Second Adam because he is only the second human being to ever appear on Earth who possessed a perfect divine human genome in the Image of God. Adam had it before the Fall.
As a matter of fact, I think Adam got his genome from Yeshua, because Colossians tells us that the Son was the first born of all creation. That sounds to me like Yeshua was the very first thing that the Creator made. So, Adam would be kind of like his little brother. 😊
The corruption of Adam’s genome is the reason all of us have been born into sin. We have literally inherited a damaged genome from Adam.
The blood of Christ is our vaccination against eternal death. It is how we will be resurrected. His perfect blood washes us clean of all our sin, i.e. heals our damaged genome and restores it to the original divine genome that was given to Adam.
That opens up an interesting can of worms, though. And that is, who are the children of the devil? Do they carry a satanic genome?
I theorize that there are at least two different bloodlines on Earth: the bloodline of Adam, and the bloodline of the Serpent, as referenced in Genesis 3:15. And maybe there are other bloodlines of other supernatural entities here also, bloodlines that were here before God placed his image on Earth.
That may sound heretical, but I actually think a very good Biblical case can be made for that. Numerous passages of Scripture talk about genealogies, ancestries, seed, wheat and tares, children of God, pagans, giants, children of the Devil.
The story of Cain in Genesis 3 is particularly interesting. If there were other bloodlines of humans on Earth at that time, that might explain why Cain was scared to death of being murdered by other people after God banished him, and it would explain where his wife came from, why he went on to build a city, and why there was already a place near Eden called Nod.
All of this makes perfect sense to me and explains a lot in my mind about what’s really going on in the Bible and why we are here on this Earth, although I suspect the typical Christian would be skeptical, if not horrified or downright angry. It wouldn’t surprise me, or offend me, if I was even considered a heretic. 😊

Timing is often amazing. In the past week or so I have toyed with the thought that we are older than we think; spiritually that is. God didn't create me to be a scholar, not even close. But I think He did give me a capacity to think logically, from time to time anyway.

I am reminded of the last generation of young people that got pissed off - 50 years ago when I was a youngster and the youth turned out in protest of the Vietnam War draft.

Lattimore is the foremost scholar in Greek. The language of the bible.
Koine Greek (not the same as contemporary Greek any more than American English is the same as "King James Bible" English) is one of the languages of the Bible. There's also Hebrew and Aramaic.
There are many, many “foremost“ scholars of the Bible, and there have been for thousands of years. The problem is, all of them bring pre-existing biases and differing levels of scholarship to their interpretations and translations. That is precisely why there are over 400 different translations of the Bible in English. That’s not a criticism, it just a reality.
The KJV is a good translation, but it’s not without its problems. Deuteronomy 32:8 is a perfect example. The KJV reads “sons of Israel,” which makes no sense because Israel did not yet exist in the Table of Nations that is being referenced.
The reason the KJV reads this way is because the committee of KJV translators used the Masoretic Text for their translation which dates from 600-900 AD, whereas the Dead Sea Scrolls from 300-100 BC say, “sons of God,” and the Septuagint from the mid-200s BC says, “angels of God.”
Incidentally, the Bible that Yeshua and his Disciples read, studied and quoted from was the Septuagint.
We all bring pre-existing biases and levels of understanding and intelligence to everything we believe. It can’t be helped. I will say, in addition, that the disagreement or arguments about which version is best is, at best, a distraction, simply based on the idea that reading the Bible is worthless to anybody unless they are seeking God with their whole heart and God is giving them the understanding of what they’re reading. Based on that idea, then the different versions can be used by God to increase the knowledge of the person that’s reading them. Lately, though I will admit that some of the new versions are best left unread, however, I have found versions like the NLT, the NIV, the ESV, the NASB, the KJV, and some others to be useful.
They all share this in common though, every one of them has got some problem. There’s not one of them that’s flawless, no not one. They are each of them like the field that Jesus described the kingdom of heaven to be like where the man was searching for treasure. The field that he was searching in was a field inhabited by livestock so he had to watch where he was walking to avoid stepping in the BS. Reading any of the versions of today’s Bible is the same as searching for treasures in that field

When Jesus referred to ‘scripture’, he was only talking about what we call the Old Testament, and any reference to ‘scripture’ used in the New Testament in the same manner that Jesus used the word, has got to be referring only to the Old Testament because there was no New Testament yet!
So the reference to scripture in Timothy and in Peter was referring to the Old Testament, and couldn’t possibly be referring to the New Testament

I no longer use the NIV. Much better translations are available. It was revised in 1982 and isn’t the same. The New King James, the Passion Translation, the Amplified Version are just a few of my favorites.

We have bike lanes even in north central Massachusetts, and we rarely see any bicycles using them. Bike lanes also don't work in New England for at least 5 months out of the year (Nov-March).
As someone who rode their bike to school, to work, etc. from Jr high school through law school, I can attest to the fact that snow put me back to walking or on the bus (Minnesota). Also - during all of the time that bikes were my preferred form of transportation, we never had a bike lane and I never had an accident (and I did ride on busy streets). Now living in Grants Pass, OR, bikes could be used most of the year (providing you are in good enough shape to ride up and down the hills), but I have NEVER seen anyone using the bike lanes that they keep adding.
We have bike lanes all over our city, too. People rarely use them.
The bike lanes they keep adding here in San Diego no one uses is taking away what was precious parking space. Even in my own neighborhood they took away half of the median parking and then added bike lanes that no one uses taking away even more parking spaces.
This is why all our vehicles are older, without all the bells and whistles.
I would never ride in one of those, no way, no how.

Blockages from cholesterol is a result of Heart Disease, not the cause. The cause is actually oxidizers, chemicals that oxidize the arteries (not oxygen).

As someone who has liven in Eagle for several years I can testify to the fact that people here were, in general, were more sane (conservative). The issue is always the same everywhere. liberal or progressive attitudes and their inevitable actions is the definition of "mission creep", as in all neighborhoods that harbor loons. it's still relatively calm here but my advice is "stay strapped" like most residents do. It is the best deterrent!
My theory so far is: (1) most libs are in the immediate Boise area (my encounter was with a Meet Up group which included that area); (2) Libs here are much better behaved than elsewhere. I believe this is because they are so outnumbered, they have to be. I'm hoping this continues to be the case.

But, I have no doubt the vaxx has caused a tremendous amount of illness and destruction.....not just physical but mental as well. When something impacts how your body functions, it impacts the brain as well. If you are predisposed to mental health issues, it can land there.

My poor dad is having huge anxiety and insomnia problems, otherwise healthy at almost 93. They have him so drugged up right now, doxaphin and zolof that I am not allowed to visit for two weeks. Yesterday morning he took an extra dose!!!

A good friend of mine was hospitalized for depression. He had battled depression for years but always managed it OK.

I too am a new convert. I was blind and gullible throughout my life and raising my kids. No words can describe the guilt I carry each day over not being properly aware for the sake of my children. I was one of those people afraid to be a conspiracy fool, blindly believing a doctor or pediatrician would never lie to me. Now I don tinfoil clothing and headwear with pride. I doubt the sanity of anyone unwilling to wear a tinfoil hat.
Unfortunately, if they ever COULD come out with a protective shot with no serious side effects I’ll never take it now. The damage they wrought goes so far into the future it’s mind blowing. But worst of all are the lives they willingly killed prior to today, because so many like me were complacent and ignorant. This worldview leads nowhere good. "Let us reason together:" Anyone that believes God created humans that evolved from other species or even that physically change over time into superior versions of humans are by the original definition of the word: Racists. You simply can't have "Survival of the Fittest" without have the "Naturally less fit for survival."
This worldview also inexorably leads to unreasonable conclusions because non-evolutionary conclusions are either not considered, or consideration stops once an evolutionary take is accepted. Consider viruses and the ever fear inducing "super bug." Which is the more reasonable conclusion: 1. Bad bacteria have evolved a resistance to antibiotics. 2. The human immune system is so much depleted that even with the help of antibiotics it is not enough to fight off the infection.
If you accept the first, you are left with trying more and varied ways to kill off the biom, good or bad.
If you accept the second possibility, you seek ways to 1.) stop the decline of the immune system and 2.) look for methods to improve the immune system instead of tricking it into attacking the body it tries to protect.

I have mixed feelings.
Federal government employment has more safeguards regarding workers rights than a civilian non-union shop. We would always joke it is next to impossible to fire a federal government employee.
I would think that a union would be OK for the technical people - HVAC guys, cleaners, etc. But, it seems weird that admin or support staff would need to be in a union.
Regardless, the VA employees were forced to take the covid DeathVax under the federal government mandate. Haven't heard that the union protected the workers against the mandate.

Are you talking about veterinarians BFM? Rabies is the only vax required by law and even then, you can blood titer instead. You can also get a Rabies vax waiver for aged dogs/cats and those with chronic disease or those that have sustained vaccine events prior even by other vaccine like dog flu, Leptospirosis vax, feline leukemia etc. When vets lost their in clinic pharmacy income to competitors like Chewy and PetMeds, vaccines become very important to sustain income.
I just took my puppy to a new vet and told them he was never having any shots other than the one DHPP given by the breeder. I told her I was a crazy antivaxxer 🤣. She smiled and said no problem and I signed the waiver against rabies.

BTW, I never knew you could get a waiver for aged dogs and cats. My vet was always hellbent on giving my animals the vaccines no matter how old they got.
Pet vaccines are not required by law. The only ‘vax’ mandated, by most states, is rabies. All other vax are promoted by vets (for profit). Even the big grooming establishments only require the rabies vax.
You run into problems if you need your pet boarded (vets and businesses arbitrarily ‘require’ vaccinations). Have a friend or relative take of your beloved pet while you’re away. You’ll be saving their lives.

I’m done vaccinating my pets. Nope.
I think our Bernese Mountain dog died as the result of the vaccines. She was perfectly fine. We left her with the vet while we were away for the weekend and she couldn't get up on her hind legs. I had been confirmed for Lyme disease and she tested negative. I regret so much giving her those vaccines before her 8th birthday! We had to put our sweet girl down the day after her birthday. Horrendous!
I'm so, so sorry! I believe you are correct; those vaccines cause death and severe health problems for our furry family members. It makes my blood boil! Local vet here in my town just moved over to a small practice, as the one she was with was bought out by a big corporation. And policy was ALL cats had to have rabies jab...regardless if indoor only. That's BS! The vet has 4 indoor cats of her own and was "I'm outta here!" Kudos to her.
Agree as far as possible. Rabies is legally required, but I put that off as long as I can. But since I compete with my dogs and because we have lots of wildlife around, I do eventually comply. I also know someone who had a litter of puppies that they did not vaccinate for parvo, and they all died from parvo, so that is another one that might be appropriate to get. Any vets here?

We’ll have to wait and see. A number of states mandate childhood vaccinations for public school enrollment while simultaneously prohibiting religious or medical exemptions. There are many battles yet to be fought in this war. Covid showed us that large numbers of the public actually support mandatory vaccination, so people need to be taught WHY coerced medical interventions are evil. Ironically, many who supported mandates were damaged by the mRNA shots and thus hoisted by their own petard. Too bad people often need to learn their lessons—in this case ethical lessons—the hard way.

Just had to buy one for a new used car for our son. I haven’t bought a car in a long time nor had a new policy, and our cars have been aging so our premiums go down each year. The new quote on a 2012 used car blew my mind. Way cheaper than if it were newer, but still equal to what I remembered a monthly car payment being! It was surreal. And the average car loan for a new/newer car is what a mortgage used to be! But the property depreciates as fast as a toilet flushing. It’s insane. So glad we coached him to buy older and pay cash so that any remaining financing can easily be paid off in under 6-12 months. It was like we were frozen in time for a quarter of a century and emerged to a highly expensive future.
We had to buy new furniture this last week due to an, er, dog/chipmunk encounter. Anyway, shocked at the prices. Found a sale at Lazy Boy. Yay!!
Bought some end-of-summer sandals the other day, the sale price was $79!! Regular shoe prices are $140 and up! And that’s just average quality.

The liability insurance for this, the latest foray into comfort/loss of freedom, will be structured the same way the Federal Vaccine Court is set up. Remember "the government is here to help".
They'll just create a legal entity that holds that risk. Maybe a self insurance arm of some sort.

Just like insurers assess how various safety features impact claims and adjust rates accordingly they assess the quality of self drive tech and assess those impacts on claims and charge the operator accordingly - better self drive tech = lower rates for the operator.
If your vehicle is determined at fault, your insurer then reviews the case and decides if they think the vehicle made the wrong choice or not - assuming no user input - and whether or not to pursue a case against the self drive mfg.

If moment of distraction also coincides with an 'oh poop' moment - lives are saved.
The computer might not (for example) interpret that Jersey barriers are closing a lane whereas a driver would not be fooled.
Sadly, humans have been shown to be terrible "watchers." In airplanes, pilots get lazy on autopilot. Proven fact. I am going to stand back and watch for a while before I get too concerned. The way the internet failures go (including our Starlink), autocars are still a bad idea. I think the more we see them used, the more issues we will see. Just like AI. At least I hope so, because I think it is too soon for driverless vehicles, unless it's the monorail at Disney. I sure don’t want airplanes without two pilots!
Think of the current L2/L3 driver assistance as having a second pilot in the cockpit.
On its own it may not be safer than a driver by itself but paired together you get higher safety.
These systems above are not meant to be 'standalone' they are meant to complement the driver.
I've driven a good 60k miles with basic auto pilot (BAP) and about 2k miles with 'FSD Supervised' as Tesla calls it. Both are L2/L3
BAP is practically flawless on the highway (not hard to keep it between the lines and to maintain safe following distances). Rural divided highways you can usually camp in the right lane so no need to for lane changing ability.
FSD is also brilliant on the highway and on urban expressways with heavy traffic (I had to go through a major city day of the solar eclipse with FSD - it was a very chill experience)
FSD on town/city streets I have little experience with because I almost never used it in town due to the need for a destination being entered - kinda silly to do in a small town
Full on Level 5 no interaction/attention from the driver (Robo-taxi) is probably better than the average human driver now - its just that there are a few ways it would fail that a human would not and that would grab a headline. Even though on net it might be safer, the failures 'bleed' and so they lead.
I have a friend who is legally blind, who has been driving a Tesla for several years now. As far as I am aware, he has had no problems.
Jeff you can keep your robot taxi and all the other self driving cars. I for one don’t want any part of them. The issues for public control by govt are just too enormous. If you think the pandemic was bad just wait until the majority of transportation is controlled in some secret data center by some faceless bureaucrats.
