Glad that was cleared up but it was the least of my worries. I'm of the opinion that the best way to keep everyone honest is to call out concerns with Trump's actions if they are inconsistent with biblical standards or with what seems like a poor choice for the cabinet. In that spirit I took a lot of heat for my criticism of the Secretary of Treasury choice because he is an unrepentant homosexual who claims to be married to another man. There were a lot of better choices that wouldn't exalt sin the way this one did but Trump went with him, a man obviously defiant of God's laws with no intention of turning from his sin. We all sin but the key is that we continue to struggle against them not give in and then institutionalize them as "married" homosexuals do.
You have justification on your side to be offended by flagrant degenerate Biblically despised behaviors ... and in particular those destructive of the family, that being a man and a woman and their issue. And this being so for tens of thousands of years.

They do say things out loud all the time, every day, and release statements directly to those they need to hear it, but the legacy media does NOT print it if it doesn’t fit the narrative they have constructed. If you are talking about a sound, Biblically based church, you have about as much chance of finding one as winning a prize at a carny sideshow. Most preachers spout a woke, Hippie-love version of the Gospel or an escapist, minimalist theology called dispensationalism that forever keeps it's pew-sitters praying for the apocalypse... and tithing and supporting "the Jews".
He is right about one thing though, it is extremely hard to find a biblically sound church today that is not captured by secular ideals. We used to belong to an amazing church that had a pastor who was the real McCoy. He and his top teaching pastor could convict Satan himself they spoke with such eloquent truth. He even spoke to the homosexual lifestyle with immense love but sound unwavering conviction to God’s word, and would not budge. Radicalized liberal women’s and LGBTQ agendas reached in and used the MeToo movement as well as other fads like shaming Christians for what they were taught to destroy the church from the inside out, and caused him to leave. Tolerance and “love thy neighbor” have been weaponized against Christians to shame and silence them, and most congregations fall for it. I’ve not found such fearless, sound teaching since he left. My heart breaks for him and I miss him so much. Every church I try to attend spends most of their time pandering to these secular topics rather than bravely teaching the truth. The members are like fluttering geese and blind because they are leading the shepherd rather than the other way around.
Part of my research when searching for a church was to ask about their song service. If they brag about the praise team we don't even visit. Mostly because our son prefers a traditional service. We attend an awesome church.

Or any other country with a strong national faith. The true danger is how the Islamic faith is completely taking over entire countries founded on a different religion specifically because of weak minded individuals like this one. This is why we will always stand strong for ours.

I HAVE noticed quite a few must have blocked the one I muted today because nobody is seeing my reply under them. 🤣 I know for a fact how many here would agree with what I said and reply themselves, but they just aren’t seeing my reply to do that. That’s the only downside I see, is it can give the infiltrators the wrong impression that more people are agreeing with them than actually do. Jerry, regarding #2, could you cite a reliable resource and provide us with a list of names of the legal American citizens who were part of the mass deportation process?
In #2, the reference is to the deportation of 282 individuals to an El Salvadoran prison, under allegations that they were all members of the infamous Venezuelan "Tren de Aragua" gang. It has since emerged that at least 8 of these were women, that many of the detainees had no criminal record, and that some were legally present in the USA and had registered with ICE pending asylum proceedings.
Apparently, I should have said that some of these were sent to prison for doing nothing more than having tattoos.
To some extent I was conflating this situation with the cases of the students at Columbia (Mahmoud Khalil and now Yonseu Chun) who are indeed being deported because of their views on the genocide in Palestine, and in spite of their standing as green card holders.

It's a tough situation if there were deportees who should not have been deported. However, one is often judged by the company one keeps. If a Roundup of Venezuelan gang members was made and some non-bangers were also caught, well, one can argue that they should have chosen their companions more wisely.
In watching "The First 48", I've often seen a situation where one person commits capital murder and ALL THOSE PRESENT were tried for Capital murder, and often sentenced.
Where do any of these articles say these were lawful American residents? I seem to be missing it. I see a lot of claims from both sides and no evidence from either, either. I had a woman on my massage table last week who told me she carries her passport around with her all the time because ‘Trump is rounding up and deporting anyone who isn’t white, regardless if they’re a citizen or not.’ FWIW, she’s the lightest skinned black person I’ve ever seen in my life and is also the most race-obsessed person I’ve ever spoken to, even though she vehemently says otherwise.
She also told me that I need to listen to a wider variety of news sources like she does, instead of just FOX. She listens to NPR every morning and also the BBC news, because it’s important to know what the rest of the world is saying about the US. BTW, ‘they all hate us now.’

I watch Fox more now than before, but I hadn’t turned them on once for a full decade or more until after the election, but mostly just this past month. So that means I got everything I believe and understand from independent journalists, podcasts, and Substack first. And it has allowed me to recognize when “corporate” is controlling a Fox anchor, or purposefully ignoring key news. They ARE still like the other stations in what they give their attention to, and they don’t venture into covering any story that won’t be talked about on the other stations, but they DO give the conservative perspectives on most programs. No where near as edifying or thought provoking as an independent journalist’s podcast.

While the 1st Amendment of our Constitution prevents establishment of an official religion by Congress, that doesn’t imply complete removal of God from country.

One other point regarding complaints about mass deportation. Those complaining that it is haphazard or disorderly seem not to recognize that their illegal entry was just as disorderly and massive in scale. Reversing that would mirror how they entered. I’d say that there is a distinct difference. During Biden’s term law firms didn’t stand up when they should have when violations of the law were not only evident, but were in clear violation of the constitution itself. And still they remained silent for political purposes. But today they aren’t standing up BECAUSE there is no clear violation and they KNOW the law cannot back them up. It’s not political at all. Their politics can’t be wielded this time, at least not easily. I’m sure some will be pushed into action by articles/“warnings” like this, but most know it will be career suicide for their firms. As an immigrant turned citizen, I fully expect those who want to become citizens to go through the same legal procedures that I had to. Any other country in this world does NOT pay for housing, phones, utilities or food. You get nothing if you can’t pay for it yourself.
The US constitution does not require American citizens to pay for any illegal aliens in any way. They don’t have rights until they properly go through our immigration process. We need to question original intent (spirit) versus language (letter) approved by the Convention. Unity for national defense was the urgent issue. With respect to the Citizenship Clause of the14th Amendment (which you quote), the intent was to reverse Dred Scott, which decided black people were not, nor ever could be, citizens. In other words, the clause was limited in scope.
Further, when looking at the transcripts of the Congressional debate of the 14th Amendment, there is a wide variety of opinions on what the Amendment meant and what they were actually voting for. For example, some voted for it because they thought it was solely limited to granting citizenship to slaves. Some took the Amendment to mean people could only become naturalized citizens if they were not under jurisdiction of a foreign power (e.g. diplomats, visitors, people who have not renounced the nationality of their birth, and it possibly even would disallowed dual citizenship).
My point - people look to the Federalist Papers for guidance on the intent of the Founding Fathers with respect to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. When looking at the intent of subsequent Amendments, Congressional debate fills the same role. And when looking at the debate of the 14th Amendment, there is no consensus. People voted for that Amendment for a wide variety of reasons, some in conflict with each other. Subsequent SCOTUS decisions have attempted to clarify the issue, but as with Dred Scott, those are just barometers of the political winds blowing at the time.
No, those rights are afforded to United States citizens, not everyone who comes into our country. Especially not if they have violated our sovereignty and laws by crossing our borders illegally and without permission, and many have been committing additional crimes and have not acted in a manner beneficial to our society. Under ordinary circumstances due process matters, but Trump cleverly called the illegal immigrant issue an invasion and a national security threat, thus making mass deportations legal.
One way might be that if the individual is already in custody for having committed a crime; another way might be if the individual had already been arrested for committing a crime and then was released back onto the streets; another way might be if the individual is a member of a gang like the gang that showed up here in order to break into the homes of professional football players; another way might be if ICE records already showed that the person was a catch and release at the southern border. Crossing illegally automatically is a crime and I suspect we already have documents showing at least some of them were guilty of illegal crossings. Another way might be to discover whether the individual arrived in the country legally, having done all the paper work for that process. If they don't have that paperwork, that probably means they crossed illegally, already a crime.
And these are just a small example of the many ways they have to discern. Will one or two accidentally get caught up in the rounding up? I’m not so sure, but if so it WILL be corrected. And I’d rather have a handful wrongly deported than a handful being raped and murdered by allowing millions who entered illegally to stay. Really stupid their priorities are so out of whack and purposefully blind to the past.

It was a special election in a very conservative county. I don’t know if the county Republican Committee dropped the ball or what exactly happened, but the D won by a couple hundred votes According to Scott, it was early voting that caused the upset. I’ve had it with the stubbornness of conservatives, always wanting to make a statement by showing up on Election Day. My husband and I go early, in person, to vote.
And since I’m on a roll here, I make it a point to show up for all special elections. Who wants to renew a millage for a library you’ve never set foot in, or for repairs to an elementary school that misappropriated the funds and didn’t do the work when they got the money 10 years ago?

After 2020 we had all these big names telling us that by early voting the cheaters would know how many fake votes they needed to beat us. Then 2 yrs later I started hearing to vote early and seeing all this push to get us to vote early. I said NO WAY!! Then going into 2024 even Trump was saying vote early. I was very confused and everyone I know was confused. We just had a discussion in Michigan what we need to do now for the 2026 elections. Democrats are organizing at every level. The GOP tend to sit on their hands, exhausted after having won a great victory in 2024. The best advice I got from the discussion is what we have been hearing all along; run for local office, and get out there and meet your constituents. The Republican Party in every state needs to get VOTERS OUT and not ignore the Midterms.

I’m not one of those interlopers Jeff called out, but if someone is here legally, and has not broken the law, they are entitled to due process. Or at least that’s my understanding.
That said, if I was a visitor to a foreign country, or even a recently new legal citizen, I would not be vocal or publicly protest my newly adopted country’s positions, no matter how opposed I was to them.
I take umbrage when I hear people with foreign accents complain about this country. I am willing to accept criticism of acting like a nativist, but I think decency and good manners suggest newcomers have not earned the right to complain. Gratitude is the only stance.
The problem is we are deporting the ones that are here ILLEGALLY. The concerns of accidentally grabbing a scant few that are by mistake falls on my deaf ears after more than 6 innocent young women were brutally raped and murdered and over 350,000 children have gone missing into slavery of some kind, or the thousands that WERE arrested for heinous crimes but released into the communities anyway. I’d rather risk accidentally deporting someone WHO CAN RETURN EASILY IF TRULY HERE LEGALLY than risk one other person being raped and/or murdered.
They weren’t clutching their civil rights pearls over any of those victims or protesting the release of criminals onto the streets of innocent civilians when all that happened, or bothering to be concerned over the fact it is STILL happening.

Why? What on earth would make people be so heartless over Laken Riley and over the sheer number of children being trafficked? The fact that the people being deported are their new, illegally installed voter base, that’s what. There is NO other explanation for their disgusting display of indifference up until now when a few might wrongfully be deported.
They care MORE about their new voters (illegal immigrants) than actual citizens. And they dig until they can either find the rare accidental deportation or plant a situation that becomes an accident just to keep all of them right where they are.

He is right about one thing though, it is extremely hard to find a biblically sound church today that is not captured by secular ideals. We used to belong to an amazing church that had a pastor who was the real McCoy. He and his top teaching pastor could convict Satan himself they spoke with such eloquent truth. He even spoke to the homosexual lifestyle with immense love but sound unwavering conviction to God’s word, and would not budge. Radicalized liberal women’s and LGBTQ agendas reached in and used the MeToo movement as well as other fads like shaming Christians for what they were taught to destroy the church from the inside out, and caused him to leave. Tolerance and “love thy neighbor” have been weaponized against Christians to shame and silence them, and most congregations fall for it. I’ve not found such fearless, sound teaching since he left. My heart breaks for him and I miss him so much. Every church I try to attend spends most of their time pandering to these secular topics rather than bravely teaching the truth. The members are like fluttering geese and blind because they are leading the shepherd rather than the other way around.

A few years ago i was involved in my own child custody issues.
I can admit to unrealizing having a few unresolved conflicts during it.
So after $11,000 in legal fees for 9 months of hearings and decisions.
I was awarded sole custody of 3 minor children. With the minefield behind me, I learned a more valuable expensive lesson.

I HAVE noticed quite a few must have blocked the one I muted today because nobody is seeing my reply under them. 🤣 I know for a fact how many here would agree with what I said and reply themselves, but they just aren’t seeing my reply to do that. That’s the only downside I see, is it can give the infiltrators the wrong impression that more people are agreeing with them than actually do. In #2, the reference is to the deportation of 282 individuals to an El Salvadoran prison, under allegations that they were all members of the infamous Venezuelan "Tren de Aragua" gang. It has since emerged that at least 8 of these were women, that many of the detainees had no criminal record, and that some were legally present in the USA and had registered with ICE pending asylum proceedings.

Apparently, I should have said that some of these were sent to prison for doing nothing more than having tattoos.
To some extent I was conflating this situation with the cases of the students at Columbia (Mahmoud Khalil and now Yonseu Chun) who are indeed being deported because of their views on the genocide in Palestine, and in spite of their standing as green card holders.

It's a tough situation if there were deportees who should not have been deported. However, one is often judged by the company one keeps. If a Roundup of Venezuelan gang members was made and some non-bangers were also caught, well, one can argue that they should have chosen their companions more wisely.

I had a woman on my massage table last week who told me she carries her passport around with her all the time because ‘Trump is rounding up and deporting anyone who isn’t white, regardless if they’re a citizen or not.’ FWIW, she’s the lightest skinned black person I’ve ever seen in my life and is also the most race-obsessed person I’ve ever spoken to, even though she vehemently says otherwise.

No where near as edifying or thought provoking as an independent journalist’s podcast.

As far as whether hell is a literal firescape vs the depiction of burning is a metaphorical description of life apart from God (see C.S. Lewis's book, Great Divorce) is a matter of debate. What is true is that hell is a literal place apart from God. And God respects humans enough to let them choose to live apart from him, if they wish.
I too used to wonder about the "punishment" of hell. And then I came to understand it as a natural self-chosen consequence of life apart from God - I no longer see it as a condemnation to literal flames but to the endless torment that results when I try to live my life on my terms rather than God's.

Those complaining that it is haphazard or disorderly seem not to recognize that their illegal entry was just as disorderly and massive in scale. Reversing that would mirror how they entered. I’d say that there is a distinct difference. During Biden’s term law firms didn’t stand up when they should have when violations of the law were not only evident, but were in clear violation of the constitution itself. And still they remained silent for political purposes. But today they aren’t standing up BECAUSE there is no clear violation and they KNOW the law cannot back them up. It’s not political at all. Their politics can’t be wielded this time, at least not easily. I’m sure some will be pushed into action by articles/“warnings” like this, but most know it will be career suicide for their firms. They see the traps laid by Trump. Their silence has nothing to do with being unwilling to fight Trump. They showed us the past four years they are more than willing to break their oaths to the constitution to do that. They are just smart enough to see that they will lose.

The US constitution does not require American citizens to pay for any illegal aliens in any way. They don’t have rights until they properly go through our immigration process. We need to question original intent (spirit) versus language (letter) approved by the Convention. Unity for national defense was the urgent issue. Green card holders, for examples, have some rights, but are not the equal of citizens. With respect to the Citizenship Clause of the14th Amendment (which you quote), the intent was to reverse Dred Scott, which decided black people were not, nor ever could be, citizens. In other words, the clause was limited in scope.
Further, when looking at the transcripts of the Congressional debate of the 14th Amendment, there is a wide variety of opinions on what the Amendment meant and what they were actually voting for. For example, some voted for it because they thought it was solely limited to granting citizenship to slaves. Some took the Amendment to mean people could only become naturalized citizens if they were not under jurisdiction of a foreign power (e.g. diplomats, visitors, people who have not renounced the nationality of their birth, and it possibly even would disallowed dual citizenship).

When looking at the intent of subsequent Amendments, Congressional debate fills the same role. And when looking at the debate of the 14th Amendment, there is no consensus. People voted for that Amendment for a wide variety of reasons, some in conflict with each other. Subsequent SCOTUS decisions have attempted to clarify the issue, but as with Dred Scott, those are just barometers of the political winds blowing at the time.
One is not subject to jurisdiction of, if one walked into the country in violation of its laws. The act of crossing the border shows disrespect.
No, those rights are afforded to United States citizens, not everyone who comes into our country. Especially not if they have violated our sovereignty and laws by crossing our borders illegally and without permission, and many have been committing additional crimes and have not acted in a manner beneficial to our society. How do you discern who is an illegal immigrant, or criminal absent due process?
One way might be that if the individual is already in custody for having committed a crime; another way might be if the individual had already been arrested for committing a crime and then was released back onto the streets; another way might be if the individual is a member of a gang like the gang that showed up here in order to break into the homes of professional football players; another way might be if ICE records already showed that the person was a catch and release at the southern border. Crossing illegally automatically is a crime and I suspect we already have documents showing at least some of them were guilty of illegal crossings. Another way might be to discover whether the individual arrived in the country legally, having done all the paper work for that process. If they don't have that paperwork, that probably means they crossed illegally, already a crime.

It was a special election in a very conservative county. I don’t know if the county Republican Committee dropped the ball or what exactly happened, but the D won by a couple hundred votes According to Scott, it was early voting that caused the upset. I’ve had it with the stubbornness of conservatives, always wanting to make a statement by showing up on Election Day. My husband and I go early, in person, to vote.
And since I’m on a roll here, I make it a point to show up for all special elections. Who wants to renew a millage for a library you’ve never set foot in, or for repairs to an elementary school that misappropriated the funds and didn’t do the work when they got the money 10 years ago?

I think a lot of conservatives are confused about early voting. I was! After 2020 we had all these big names telling us that by early voting the cheaters would know how many fake votes they needed to beat us. We watched them bus in boxes and boxes of ballots in the middle of the night in 2020. So it was drilled early on DO NOT VOTE EARLY. Wait until the day of and go vote in person. Then 2 yrs later I started hearing to vote early and seeing all this push to get us to vote early. I said NO WAY!! In 2020 I voted for the first time in my 50+ years in person on Election Day in a state that was not 100% mail in like Oregon, and it was liberating. Or at least it felt that way. Then going into 2024 even Trump was saying vote early. I was very confused and everyone I know was confused. There was nobody telling us why the message was only vote in person Election Day and then suddenly switched to voting early. It is STILL confusing and every conservative I know will tell you something different. There is no clear message about it. So until they get this issue communicated clearly…..we are divided. Just. How. The. Cheaters. Want. Us!

We just had a discussion in Michigan what we need to do now for the 2026 elections. Democrats are organizing at every level. The GOP tend to sit on their hands, exhausted after having won a great victory in 2024. The best advice I got from the discussion is what we have been hearing all along; run for local office, and get out there and meet your constituents. The Republican Party in every state needs to get VOTERS OUT and not ignore the Midterms.

You must understand that I’m completely unbiased when I say they’re the best kids on the planet. But, is it fair to judge everyone who has faith in Jesus that way? I take umbrage when I hear people with foreign accents complain about this country. I am willing to accept criticism of acting like a nativist, but I think decency and good manners suggest newcomers have not earned the right to complain. Gratitude is the only stance.
The problem is we are deporting the ones that are here ILLEGALLY. The concerns of accidentally grabbing a scant few that are by mistake falls on my deaf ears after more than 6 innocent young women were brutally raped and murdered and over 350,000 children have gone missing into slavery of some kind, or the thousands that WERE arrested for heinous crimes but released into the communities anyway. I’d rather risk accidentally deporting someone WHO CAN RETURN EASILY IF TRULY HERE LEGALLY than risk one other person being raped and/or murdered.
They weren’t clutching their civil rights pearls over any of those victims or protesting the release of criminals onto the streets of innocent civilians when all that happened, or bothering to be concerned over the fact it is STILL happening.
No. They are loudest over the horror of a few legal citizens wrongfully identified for deportation, (I doubt the legitimacy of this, but at most I’ve only heard of two, and out of context without all details,) and ignoring ALL the other horror on the other side of the issue. Why? What on earth would make people be so heartless over Laken Riley and over the sheer number of children being trafficked? The fact that the people being deported are their new, illegally installed voter base, that’s what. There is NO other explanation for their disgusting display of indifference up until now when a few might wrongfully be deported.
