Ah, the law of unintended consequences - Dems and RINOs shot themselves in the foot by rejecting Ed Martin! 😂😂 Now they will be faced with the rejected Martin firmly ensconced in a role that narrows his focus to precisely the issues the the Dem miscreants thought they had avoided. I’m hoping for the Big Bang of prosecution to explode on the guilty parties. KaBoom 💥

The Tillis rejection of Martin is most important for the why. It's about narrative and writing history. If the false narrative of an "insurrection" on J6 isn't challenged and replaced with the truth of what happened that day now, on Pres. Trump's watch, it will go down in the history books as an "Insurrection" that future generations will believe.

The rejection of Martin is a recognition that a majority of the US Senate, including Republicans, believe Pres. Trump and his supporters are guilty of attempting an insurrection that day. Some may have publicly 'forgiven' him and accept that voters re-elected him *despite* that. But they continue to believe or parrot that an insurrection happened. And support the prosecutorial and judicial abuses directed at MAGA who challenged the rigged and stolen election of 2020.

Pres. Trump mustn't stop fighting for the truth to prevail. Lest the history books forever teach future generations that lie of an "insurrection" as truth. Tillis and others who continue to promote the Big Lie must be challenged. I call upon Pres. Trump to host a rally in North Carolina that targets Tillis and promotes a viable primary challenger. Put Tillis in the hot seat for MAGA to take on. Send the message to R's who promote that lie. Create consequences. If not now, while Trump support as POTUS is high, then when? To not do so is to concede the lie becoming taught as historical fact.

Proof that our 'work' is never done. Need some good 2026 replacements to fire up the base to turn out for mid-terms. Our 2 MO senators - Hawley and Schmitt have not been perfect, but neither of them bought the 'insurrection' story. But any of them who are not on board with the swamp-draining agenda need to go!

In other Congress news, found it interesting that Thomas Massie was the only House member to vote against the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act, which passed the House 406-1.

“It’s just another example of us trying to stick our nose in another country’s business and write their laws,” Massie told Fox News Digital after the vote. “And at the end of the day, they’re gonna do what they’re gonna do, and it’s just sort of a virtue signal over here.” I don't disagree that we have limited control over China's internal actions but curious if you KY C&Cers see this as a publicity stunt for being the lone NO vote, or a truly principled stance.

Expand full comment
79SmithW60's avatar

Not from MO or KY, but I like Massie on most things. This one is a mostly symbolic vote, and I get his "get out of everyone else's business stance" (which is very Constitutional).

Where the US Congress can make a difference would be to stop allowing US companies (I'll pick on just two but there are thousands (Apple and Nike) from using slave labor in China to make their products. Put a 1,000% tariff on any US company that makes goods in China. Hit them in the wallet, and you will change behavior, both of the companies and of the CCP. All the virtue signaling in the world does not change behavior. But of course, Dems and RINOs are happy to do that because it maintains status quo of the slow destruction of the USA, while they get more wealthy (and stay in power).

Agree on Schmitt and on Hawley (he has been a hawk for the proxy war in Ukraine), which is a disappointment. Overall, I'd rather have both of them than 90% of the other "R" senators (Paul, Lee, and Johnson are the obvious exceptions as they are the most constitutional of the group).

Expand full comment
Donna in MO's avatar

I fell in love with Massie in 2020 when I learned about his PRIME act, which would make it easier for small farmers to sell beef and pork directly to consumers. At the time he had tried to pass it for years and not sure if it is still out there or not. Dug into all of this when there was alarm over shortages, and the system definitely favors corporate ag and appreciate his willingness to fight for changes. But some of his votes do leave me scratching my head.

His no vote on the organ harvesting does make sense, agree it is mostly just virtue signaling. I have boycotted Nike for their slave labor for over 20 years, learned about it when my kids were in elementary and battled them whining that they wanted Nike gear like their friends had.

Very smart bill. Also, surprisingly had "bipartisan" support from some Dems, including the Maine delegation.

He was working on raw milk too in 2024. https://massie.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=395642

You would think that both those bills would have sailed through the House and Senate, but Big Agra captures politicians just like Big Pharma.

Putting corn (ethanol) into our vehicles is lunacy, but it has bi-partisan support from the corn belt. It is terrible for engines (especially small engines) and less "efficient". Even Pres. Trump campaigned in Iowa touting ethanol...

Right with you on Nike. Haven't bought a pair of Nike's in close to 30 years. At first it was because they changed their sizing (made them smaller and they didn't fit right) then after that, like you, because of the slave labor.

We are in New England, and we get our local meat from Walden Meat (delivered monthly). They are really good.

Expand full comment
Donna in MO's avatar

I had a big year long project in Iowa working with several eco devo entities in 2015 - ethanol/big ag rules that state and owns both sides of the aisle for sure. Began as beneficial for farmer co-ops but big ag had purchased every ethanol plant in the state by 2015, and only survives due to subsidies, it's a crock, but woe to anyone who speaks against it in the state.

I didn’t quite hold my nose but I definitely had mixed feelings about him. Having been a teen in the 80s I had a not very flattering image of Trump (mostly just huge ego and flamboyant not anything that would be a deal breaker but not my cup of tea at all). During 2016, my mom shared with me what she’d heard from him on Fox and other outlets for years and helped improve my impression of Trump before the 2016 election. Plus the lies that I discovered the media had made up about him made me very skeptical of anything they said about Trump. Not to mention that I *really* didn’t want Hillary to win!! 😡 He grew on me more during his first term. I was more enthusiastic about voting for him in 2020 for sure. But I still didn’t love the stream of consciousness rambles (that the media used to make up stuff about what he actually said and meant and twist it to denigrate him), nor the name calling. I think it’s much better this time around, he’s allowing very articulate people like JD Vance and Stephen Miller and sone cabinet members to do more of the talking on policy and he’s doing the rallying and the other things he’s best at. I’m personally very pleased at how he has changed tactics and I like him more now than I ever have.

But you're right, letting the more articulate/detail people speak is a good move - he is not a detail guy - 100% 'big picture' which is why I still rarely listen to his speeches - I wait for the synopsis. Subject: Your Attempt to Block Reform Just Gave It More Power

Senator Tillis,

Your decision to block Ed Martin from his nomination as U.S. Attorney for D.C.—a move many of your constituents viewed as cowardly and disloyal—has ironically turned out to be a blessing in disguise. By denying him a limited, localized role, you unintentionally opened the door for President Trump to appoint him to a far more impactful national position.

Now serving as Associate Deputy Attorney General, Pardon Attorney, and Director of the newly formed Weaponization Working Group, Ed Martin will help root out political corruption and abuse across federal agencies—something Americans desperately need. He will advise on pardons for January 6 defendants, help shape national justice policy, and investigate the politicization of law enforcement under previous leadership.

So thank you, Senator. Your betrayal inadvertently positioned Ed Martin where he can do the most good.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

No ne prays TO Mary, the most Holy Mother of God. The Hail Mary was recited by the Archangel to her. She is the ark of salvation. We Orthodox and Catholics honor and venerate her, as is befitting. Her honorific title OF Theotokos (bearer of God) having been established at the first Ecumenical councils of the united first church.

We do not pray TO her. I wish that some traditions would stop propagating this falsehood. Even Martin Luther maintained a special devotion of profound respect and admiration to her.

Expand full comment
Natalie's avatar

I have seen any number of Catholic prayer books in which prayers addressed TO Mary ascribe to her attributes that should only be ascribed to God and ask her for things that can be given only by God. In fact, I have a copy of one on my shelf that I made to discuss the issue with someone who was considering converting to Catholicism. Yes, Martin Luther and all Lutherans have great respect for her and consider her blessed. However, he said we should not pray to her, that she herself would be upset to think that people were giving her honor that should go to Christ.

Expand full comment
MaryAnn's avatar

As a child in Catholic grade school, I was told to ask Mary, the saints, etc. for what I needed, as if God had more important matters to deal with. A personal relationship with Jesus was not an option. Using an intermediary, like confessing to a priest, was the rule to ‘get to God’. I am so glad I now know the Creator of the universe cares about me and my needs, He loves me, and gave His Holy Spirit to live in me! We serve an awesome God.

Expand full comment
AngelaK's avatar

Yes, and He listens to the intercession prayers of His Mother. Her many miraculous answers to prayers, mine included, and her apparitions are evident. I respect those who don't want to ask her to intercede, but I am saddened by those who do not respect the first Church, the Orthodox and Catholic churches, which ask her intercession to Her son on their behalf.

She is special to Jesus and we honor that. She carried salvation in her womb and agreed to do it when the Archangel greeted her.

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you." This comes from Luke 1:28.

Part 2: Elizabeth's words:

"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus." This comes from Luke 1:42.

Either way, the seat of Peter is filled once again and a 2000+ year institution continues on. Thanks be to G-d!

Before I saw this comment, I knew you were a catholic. There is nothing in the Bible about praying and worshipping Mary as a co-redeemer. Praying of the "rosary" isn't Biblical. Adding words to the Lord's Prayer isn't Biblical. Telling Jesus he needed a priest is blasphemy. And Peter wasn't the first pope. Sorry. That isn't what the Bible says. And how can Peter fill that roll anyway when he was married per the Bible. And Catholics removed the 2nd commandment to get around that little idol issue. Very convenient. But it works out well since you are told not to read the Bible. You can. God inspired the writing of it for everyone. Look up "Proclaiming the Gospel" by Mike Gendron to help you. You are believing a false gospel led by a false prophet. The Bible is true and the true Gospel.

Within 0.2 square miles of territory, the Vatican owns billions of dollars worth of art and rare books, but has borrowed to the hilt and runs a steady $ deficit.

When Latin Americans in droves left the Catholic Church and chose Apostolic churches instead that catered more to the poor, a Pope from Argentina was chosen to shepherd the flock back to the original Church.

When Trump started reducing foreign aid, an American Pope, a long-shot, was chosen. Is it always about the money? Well, at least we will be able to understand his accent.”

Came here to say the same thing, Mary Ann. The Vatican bank is the most notoriously corrupt bank in the world. Of course they are reeling from having our tax dollars ripped out from under them via USAID and Catholic Charities. And CC is 100% complicit in trafficking, and for that alone I don't blame anyone for walking away.

Francis elevated 108 men to Cardinal in his 12 year reign, stacking the deck with like minded liberals so I had no hope we'd get someone conservative. Having raised my family in the Chicago suburbs, in Catholic schools, no less, the corruption in ours, and surrounding dioceses was off the chain. We have one of the largest collections of canceled priests - holy and great men who fought against the jab, lockdowns, etc, sacrificing their entire vocation doing the right thing (including my own pastor of 20 years Fr James Parker). Chicago's Cardinal Cupich is one of the most egregious clergy in modern history. Seeing him on that balcony with Prevost smiling ear to ear, gave me real sadness.

Just looked it up. There are currently 251 Cardinals, but only 134 eligible to vote in a papal concave. The ones who were ineligible to vote were ineligible simply because they had turned 80 before the recent papal vacancy. So beyond a doubt Francis stacked the deck, having appointed 108 out of the 134 voting. Maybe he appointed a few more conservative cardinals in the mix? I don't know. I keep thinking (to myself), "Is this what is really happening? Does Trump represent an American oligarch push back against the international banking system composed of the British Crown/City of London, the Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland (the Rothschild's bank) and the Vatican? Is this finally payback for the 1912 slaughter of the American oligarchs on board the Titanic who opposed their debt based monetary/slavery system and the subsequent 1913 Constitutional coup under the globalist Wilson that enslaved all Americans to their phoney banking system?"

I keep musing on this question but here is someone who is actually saying it out loud. History moves in cycles and for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. America has been enslaved to the international banking system via the Federal Reserve and the Federal Income Tax for over 100 years which has now driven America to the brink of bankruptcy both individually and nationally. The globalists have had their day, staged an actual Marxist coup of the USG via election fraud and imposed an attempted mass democide of the American people via a militarily deployed kill shot/medical "experiment". I have to think that the American oligarchs who care about their own survival as well as the survival of what we call America have had enough and began a program over 15 years ago to prepare for this day of retribution/liberation. Are we in the middle of the biggest war on American soil since the so-called Civil War?

I know. Too much to hope for, right? That's why I kept my thoughts to myself until I saw this video. Ah to be a fly on the wall of history! It's like waiting for the next episode to drop in your favorite TV series.

Now don't get me wrong. I have no illusions about America going back in time to what we use to be in history. The constitutional republic ceased to exist a long time ago. Whatever the US evolves into in the future, it will be something different. And the USG is not about to give up their empire. It may get scaled back and made more manageable and the geo-political priorities may be realigned as Marxism is finally rejected by the USG as a "raison d'etre". That alone would make me happy.

My guess is the the USG will become more of what we are seeing in the changes right now. Today, governance is being accomplished PRIMARILY through Presidential Executive Orders (rather than through legislation) much the same when ancient Rome ceased being a republic and Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon to become emperor to the cheers of the Roman citizens. I expect that the USG will become (or already is) an authoritarian government not unlike the government in today's Russia under Putin.

And again, better a benevolent authoritarian government rather than a nihilistic, satanic dictatorship bent on the subjugation and destruction of it's own people. Those are the choices we have recently faced.
