Now to sum up, all of you be like-minded, sympathetic, brotherly, tender-hearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but giving a blessing instead, for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. For,

“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,

Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

He must turn away from evil and do good;

He must seek peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous,

And His ears attend to their prayer,

But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

— 1 Peter 3:8-12 LSB

But remember: The words of 1 Peter do NOT deny the faithful the use of imprecatory prayer. Read King David's psalms that implore the Lord to destroy David's enemies. See Psalm 137 for just how "imprecatory" imprecatory prayer can be, and still be a legitimate part of holy Scripture.

You are right, it does not deny our right or ability to do that, but the negative consequences can be eternal. The Word makes it perfectly clear the forgiveness is not optional and, at the very least, severely limits the possibility of Imprecations w/o a terrible cost.

God Most High never loses. He allows, He gives men over to their evil desires to suffer the consequences…but He is always working all things together for good to those who love Him, and is always accomplishing His plan, and is always showing favor to those who fear Him, and He knows all and sees all and will judge. Nothing and no one can thwart His purposes and plans. He is working when we cannot see it and is trustworthy, just, and perfect. Everything He promises, He performs. Everything He hates will be destroyed. Everyone who turns to Him will be saved.

Biglino's "The Naked Bible" is a great read... I wish all religious nutrolls here would read it completely.

Your comment reminds me of the hordes that believed the writings of Erich Von Daniken. The guy just made up stuff, even Bible quotes and interpretations, from whole cloth and people ran around quoting his drivel.

As one raise atheist by two school leftist teachers who only let me read and would not buy a TV, when I discovered the living GOD I spent 2 yrs trying to disprove HIS word. I read the books claiming it had errors and contradictions, THEN I read the books by the Bible experts addressing those claims, *THEN* I studied the Hebrew and Greek, (etc) to verify the truth. IN my 50 yrs knowing GOD there have been THOUSANDS of things discovered in math, physics, archeology etc that prove the truth of GOD's word. Metaxas does a humorous and pithy job of hitting the high points in "Is Atheism Dead?". The truly eager to learn will prefer "More Evidence That Demands A Verdict" by McDowell.

A simple syllogism for you to consider:

Is there a GOD?

Is HE all powerful?

Does HE love us?

If HE does, would HE lie to us?

If you can't agree the right answer to those is Y-Y-Y-N

then there is no point in going on. You owe it to yourself to look into the THOUSANDS of undeniable proofs that GOD's word is right...every time.

If you won't do that you are living in a world of argumentum ad ignorantiam. And GOD will hold you responsible for refusing to seek HIM as HE prescribed.

If you do have the personal integrity to seek HIM HIS way than HE will be found. HE always is by those who come humbly, willingly, and open.

satan and his minions are happy to help anyone believe anything other than exactly what GOD says - hence all of the cults and denominations.

We can't know everything here but GOD will open up HIS word and the truth to us AS WE SEEK HIM. This is why the two "Ask-Seek-Knock" passages are written in the GK 'continuous present tense'.

GOD promised to open up truth as things get closer to the end. HE also warns us deception and demonic sign will increase. And HE tells us that those who do not know HIM will not know when HE will return...NOT EVERYONE, just those who do not know HIM.

Yes, my mother seemed somewhat moved toward GOD. My father accepted the LORD as did one of my three siblings. The other two siblings give hints that direction but are less than forthcoming.

Here's a bit more info that may be of interest:

My wife and I, both from crappy homes, were brought together by GOD. We had 4 miracle kids and believed GOD that they would never depart from HIM. They all played instruments, all became world-class athletes, they graduated with 'high honors' minimum, two were 'summa' and one missed by less than a tenth of a point. They adore each other (not something my wife or I ever had). They are all very successful and pay to gather us and their mates together a couple of times a year. We are VERY blessed and GOD is the one who made it all happen as we sought him and obeyed HIS leadings. (www.gravesjudo.com) Click names in upper left area.

And what happened to "judge not, lest ye be judged"?? YOU will burn in hellfire for eternity for threatening me on "GOD's" behalf.

It looked bad if you looked at Jesus being turned over to death by a mob believing the social media of the time, publicly tortured, crowned with branches of 4” thorns, and attached to a wooden cross with a few large nails.

It will get worse before it gets better. Be one of the faithful remnant; there is a good ending even for those who may die on the way.

S*t*n only has power when we let him, in individuals who let him have control, knowingly or not, or who refuse to take control over themselves.

It starts with little things. Especially taking the easy way out of anything slightly hard.

Getting free starts with little things too. Like self denial of little comforts or habits to strengthen the will against suggestions to let bad things slide.

Without spiritual armament it’s rare to get very far. One needs the North Star so to speak, to know where one is going.

maybe... but relying on ancient mythology is a pretty poor "North Star", and can offer no clue as to where one is going...

LOL, the truth of things is never clear to those who do not know GOD.

Had you read the Bible you'd see countless examples of this in both the Old and New Testaments. It is clearly part of our walking in faith to trust GOD when things seem lost.

Even the huge final event, HIS return has been said to be unknowable. Even preachers have taught this. (LINK BELOW) But HIS word makes it clear that GOD's children will know.

Faith is "choosing" to believe. It has nothing to do with emotion or perception. You can certainly look at the massive body of evidence that GOD's word has offered us. Thousands of prophesies that have come true, thousands of proofs discoverer in it later verified by math, physics and archeology.. You can study the unequaled historical evidences in books like "More Evidence That Demands A Verdict" -but ultimately you must make the decision to accept BY CHOOSING TO BELIEVE, that JESUS was born of a virgin, died on the cross for you, and was resurrected. Your choice moved GOD. HE can not bee fooled, HE knows your heart. *IF* you want to know HIM HE will always be found.

If you are unserious, HE will leave you to your chosen end.

Fear is the only real weapon of the enemies of GOD. Hubris and such are nothing more than covers for fear. What if the odds are one in a million, or billion, that I am right? IS it worth the risk to not try it GOD's way to find out?
