Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, “Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.” He said, “Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!” Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the furnace of blazing fire; he responded and said, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, come out, you servants of the Most High God, and come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego came out of the midst of the fire. The satraps, the prefects, the governors and the king’s high officials gathered around and saw in regard to these men that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men nor was the hair of their head singed, nor were their trousers damaged, nor had the smell of fire even come upon them.

Albert Pike had promised his Masonic allies in Europe that they would have three world wars to consolidate the world power of the Canaanites. We have now seen two of those world wars, and, as promised, the first world war was to set up a Communist regime, the second world war was to raise it to the status of a world power, and the third world war is planned to destroy both Communism and Christianity in a great orgy of annihilation. This coming war is intended to be the final death knell of the people of Shem; after its conclusion the Canaanites will reign unchallenged throughout the world."

Humans are not generally capable of multiple generational grand scale global conspiracy. But go ahead, believe what you want.

The truth however is much more universal, humans fall and lose their soul connection, and seek power over others. Fundamental morality attuned to spiritual connection to the Divine is the only real solution, and operates most effectively within a limited government power framework of individual liberty educated to God given rights.

David, I agree with your overall statement, but would like to add some different perspectives:

1. There’s evidence to show that humans are capable of global conspiracies. Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie and others created our modern world. This was confirmed by Generals and Congress. There’s also the conspiracy of modern medicine which can be traced to one family. These are examples of how humans can lead global conspiracies and here are some pieces on them:

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/donating-to-a-good-cause-how-billionaires

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/rich-people-do-magic

2. Totally agree 1,000% with this here: “Fundamental morality attuned to spiritual connection to the Divine is the only real solution,”

This was phenomenal and I wrote a piece on reasoning and how that’s our connection to the Divine. I feel you may really like this piece here: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/reasoning-the-language-of-gods

Lastly: “and operates most effectively within a limited government power framework of individual liberty attu education to Hod given rights.” — this is the definition and ideal state of true liberty and autonomy for humanity. We can agree that governments and ruling classes will not give this up willingly, ultimately going back to point number 1 of a global conspiracy of human enslavement with a whole slew of characters over time.

Hope this helps paint a different perspective.

Frankly, I don't give a damn what the "left" thinks about this or anything else. This was the President doing precisely what we elected him for, Making America Great Again. So, find a spine and stand strong against any stupidity from the left - push back with ferocity on any of their damn whimpering, whining, and gas lighting - of which we can expect tons. He is using American power to benefit the USA and really the world.

I do not subscribe to QAnon, the Illuminati and other theories of far ranging and long lived conspiracy. But I sense a more modern (post WWII) deliberate attempt to control western government that to me smacks of US, British and Israeli intelligence. I think Epstein, or maybe more accurately Maxwell, was/is the manager thereof but not the ultimate decision maker. Nor do I think it was just about pedophilia or sex trafficking. I think the ultimate currency was blackmail data of any kind.

daverkb's avatar

I think very much the same as do you. And some of us want to know who is behind all of this. There is obviously a hidden hand of supra-agency behind what has gone on in the West for the entirety of my life reaching far, far back into the very early twentieth century and beyond.

And then there is Whitney Webb and One Government Under Blackmail. In my world the intelligence agencies are the instrumentality, but not the prime moving. Machado. She was the one who actually won the last election in Venezuela.

She will have the support of the vast majority of the Venezuelan people.

Jeff Lynn's avatar

Wrong! Michado did not run for office and she supports the man most beleive won the last election, Eduardo Gonsolvez Urrutica!

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I guess if I'm "wrong" so are you.

Machado ran as a candidate in the 2023 opposition primaries and won a landslide victory with over 90% of the vote. However, Venezuela's Supreme Court upheld a 15-year ban on her holding public office, preventing her from running in the July 2024 general election. She subsequently backed Edmundo González Urrutia as the unity candidate, who the opposition claims defeated Nicolás Maduro by a landslide.2012 Presidential Election: Machado ran in the first-ever opposition presidential primary in February 2012. She placed third with approximately 3.7% of the vote, losing to Henrique Capriles Radonski, whom she then supported in the general election against Hugo Chávez.

Sooooo, did she run? That would be a yes! Was she lawfared by the bought and paid for V "Supreme Court". That would also be a yes.

Also, just FYI, during the 2019 Political Crisis: Following the 2018 disputed elections, Machado announced she would run for president if interim leader Juan Guaidó called for new elections, though these did not take place, instead they brutally suppressed the will of the people of Venezuela.

Jeff Lynn's avatar

Thanks for the history and you are correct; but when talking about THE election, it wasn't Machado against Maduro.

That Machado ran would be like saying Bernie Sanders ran against Trump in 2016. But the corrupt party machine ousted him in the primary. Even more like Sanders ran against Trump in 2020 and the corrupt party machine placed Biden into the nomination who was then lawfared into the WH by the likes of the PA Supreme Court and the failure of SCOTUS to even hear cases due to "Standing", but that is just my opinion of 2020!

Here is some interesting data to add to the discussion, from my "discussion with ChatGPT":

Evidence Showing Significant Support

Polls and Political Standing Before 2025/2026

A poll reported in March 2025 indicated that a majority of Venezuelans trusted Machado (alongside Edmundo González Urrutia) to lead the country, with figures around 62 % expressing confidence in them as leaders and Machado having strong approval ratings.

infobae

🔴 Evidence Suggesting Mixed or Negative Views

Other Polls and Perceptions

There are reports showing decreased public support or rejection of Machado’s role within Venezuelan politics, including a poll that suggested a majority rejected her opposition role (possibly tied to disagreements over negotiation strategies).

teleSUR

Some social-media posts and informal figures circulating online claim very high unfavorable views, but these aren’t verifiable as reliable or representative data.

Reddit

🟡 Influence of Contextual Factors

Political and Institutional Barriers

Machado was barred from running in official elections by Venezuela’s Supreme Court due to disqualification, which impacts both her ability to be a formal candidate and how polls might be interpreted.

El País

International Recognition

She won the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for her struggle for democracy in Venezuela, which boosts her global profile and may influence perception domestically among some groups.

NobelPrize.org (My note: you may recall she also publicly called for President Trump to receive it.)

Statements by Political Figures

U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly doubted her support among Venezuelans, but that is a political statement and not an independent survey of Venezuelan public opinion.

India Today

⚖️ How to Interpret This

There are credible indications that Machado has strong support within significant parts of the Venezuelan opposition and among many Venezuelans dissatisfied with Maduro’s government.

However, support levels vary across polls and over time, and there are also credible reports showing less popular support or rejection among broader segments of the population, especially when measured by different polling firms or under changing conditions.

Venezuela’s political polarization, restricted electoral competition, and institutional challenges (like disqualification from elections) make measuring genuine public support more difficult than in stable democracies.

📌 Bottom Line

Machado is a highly prominent and influential leader within the Venezuelan opposition, with documented periods of strong support among many voters who oppose the Maduro regime.

At the same time, public opinion is mixed, and reliable data do not point to universal or overwhelming support across all segments of the Venezuelan population.

daverkb's avatar

Maybe so Dan. Whatever went down in Venezuela was both an inside as well as an outside job. And if it wasn't, I'd be very surprised. How this shakes out will tell us a lot of what really is going on in Venezuela. At the very minimum some very important people decided that they could no longer afford Maduro and cut a deal.

This is epic as the shadow cast reaches through out the Americas and it could well be a setback for China which could magnify. Regime chance in Venezuela signals that other countries like Panama and Mexico must tread more lightly and labor in further due consideration of the interests of the United States. I am looking to see what kind of legs this amazing event has.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I very much agree that it is a tremendous setback to Chyna's efforts to undermine the USA. And, clearly, it is one of the reasons President Trump did it.

I figure that Trump could not make this a voter machine/steal the election(s) thing because that would be fuel ignition beneficial to Radical Marxist Globalist propaganda machine. But maybe some of this will come out in the court and then it is not Trump saying. It would instead be court saying.

With all of this going on a lot of brash behavior is apt to go out the window and onto tippy-toes. Panama and Mexico will take note. And the effects will spill over into the rest of the Americas. And guess what? I may relax some as it is possible that a lot of my mining stock just got safer to hold. And it will be interesting to see how gold and silver react. I would not think much, but I never pretend that I know things shoe-in sure.

I do not know entirely what is going on in CIA, not many people do. Trump cannot just whack CIA but he certainly must bring them under full control. It cannot, must not, continue to operate as it has.

According to ChatGPT, here are the key priorities of CIA Director John Ratcliffe in his leadership of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) under the current administration, based on his public statements and reporting on agency direction (number 4 is a big one! I would say all of them are spot on.):

🇨🇳 1. Prioritizing China as the Top Threat

Ratcliffe and his deputies have clearly identified the People’s Republic of China as the CIA’s foremost strategic challenge, focusing on its technological, military, and geopolitical competition with the U.S. and its allies. The agency under his leadership is meant to emphasize intelligence collection on China’s activities and capabilities.

🕵️ 2. Strengthening Human Intelligence (HUMINT)

Ratcliffe has emphasized reinvigorating human intelligence — recruiting and deploying human sources — as a core mission of the CIA. He stressed this focus in his confirmation hearing and strategy outlines.

Senate Select Committee on Intelligence

📊 3. Clear Mission Focus and Execution

In his confirmation testimony, Ratcliffe stated his priority is to set clear agency priorities and demand relentless execution of the CIA’s core mission: collection, analysis, and covert action where authorized. He emphasized adherence to mission over other distractions.

Senate Select Committee on Intelligence

📉 4. Aligning the Workforce With Strategic Priorities

Ratcliffe has taken steps to reshape the CIA workforce to better fit the administration’s national security priorities, including offering voluntary buyouts to encourage agency personnel changes and aligning staffing with the strategic focus areas.

KMTR

🛫 5. Modernizing Intelligence Capabilities

There’s an emphasis on updating the agency’s technical and analytical capabilities to handle modern global threats — including technology competition and emergent global security dynamics. While specific tech initiatives aren’t always public, the push to focus on China inherently encompasses tech-related intelligence priorities.

Axios

📜 6. Transparency and Information Release

Under Ratcliffe’s direction, the CIA has also been involved in executing presidential directives for transparency, such as releasing historical records (e.g., concerning past events) when directed by executive order.

B Smith's avatar

Not sure that makes sense. You don’t trust them but you use them for intelligence?

I hear that consistent refrain now but it’s just plain silly. Trump is going to do right by Venezuela because 1) he can, as demonstrated by many domestic policy successes and 2) he loves being loved even more than he loves money and earning the affection of South America is hyuuuge.

Donna in MO's avatar

"Doing right by Venezuela" assumes that he (and more likely, his administration) actually have an understanding of all that is going on there. Maduro was a figurehead in a lot of ways - there are numerous powerful centers of control, over oil, drugs, intelligence, and then the Chinese, Russian, Hezbollah and other enemy states who have influence there. Trump is a big picture guy, he will not be able to provide a dissertation on the complexities of influence and power in Venezuela. He will make the decision, but based on what his advisors brief him on. Delcy Rodríguez has rivals, and her capitulation to Trump's demands makes her vulnerable. She is between a rock and a hard place and her brother is really the mastermind. Long knives will come out, this movie is not over.

Quite a "psyop", raping people, murdering, burning babies alive, taking hostages.

I think Iran is/was behind it so you have to know ovomit's and biden's support of Iran gave them the means to support the psyop...

I am uneasy as well as I read General Smedley Butler's essay 'War is a Racket.' And sadly, the blankets stories were real dating from the mid-1700s. It is similar to stories of infected corpses being thrown catapulted into strongholds on the Eurasian continent.

Padrig's avatar

War is a racket, but this isn't war. This is the way military operations should be handled.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

You must be a mark kelly sycophant. I suppose your bullshit statement will shortly be followed by another claiming it was an unlawful order too? Here I will answer that concern, it was.

Wise Old Woman in the Woods's avatar

I didn't openly oppose Bush and his 'you are either with us or against us" rhetoric that opened the door for the Iraq War. I dismissed those who raised the alarm bells to my regret. And I am now certain that the Patriot Act that was to point outward soon swung in. I went to as many gatherings to protest the lockdowns as I could. My calls now drop mysteriously to certain friends. So I am jaded. And I have no idea who Mark Kelly is. I do my own reading such as General Smedley War is a Racket. I came across his work after reviewing the Justice Holme's opinion in Schenck v. US decision with the infamous one cannot shout fire in a crowded theater. That standard was soon overturned as Holmes understood how the government could justify censoring anything.

Laureen's avatar

You have no idea who Mark Kelly is? You have got to be kidding.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

What in the hell has that got to do with the magnificent operation just conducted to take the Venezuelan terrorist out of power? You made a stupid comment about hurtling infected dead bodies.

Richard Whitney's avatar

Major General Smedley Butler

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."

Cue the current gangster supporters: "But this time it's different!"

Mrs. RW

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

This does jack diddly squat to Make America Great Again.

Nothing in the US will change by taking Maduro, any more than sending weapons to Ukraine/Israel/Taiwan/etc or bombing targets in Iran/Syria/etc at Israel's command, or keeping secret who was actually running Epstein (CIA/Mossad no doubt).

All of the above is same old swamp nonsense

Deporting illegals, sealing the border, gutting regulations

Demanding the never-trump rino's (Graham, McConnell, and their ilk) get with the program on making DOGE stuff permanent instead of taking the RINO swamp side time and time again to pass the gigantic mega-bills that preserve all the US-Aid nonsense spending.

Stop going after the two most MAGA people in Congress (Massie/Paul - both of whom stood by him while Lindsay Graham and other swamp monsters played turncoat because J6)

Stop playing world cop\

Exposing the criminals in CIA/Mossad

THOSE are MAGA things

Cuba next Mr. President?

Jack Bergeron's avatar

Is the action against Venezuela an effort to end the flow of illegal drugs or an effort to control the flow and the revenue it generates? For instance, I have long suspected our CIA benefits financially from the revenue and uses it to fund its clandestine operations. And how much of the illicit drug revenue finds its way into the coffers of political campaigns here? If we really wanted to do something about illicit drug use we should end all our government welfare programs. Our government with its welfare policies incentivizes single parent households. Most two parent households will not qualify for “benefits” such as aid to dependent children, housing and heating assistance, among other benefits. Additionally, the more children a single mother has, the more benefits she will receive. Without a father presence in the household a male child will often turn to a gang for mentoring. Here he will learn about illegal drugs, alcohol, guns and the associated criminal activity. Ending the government’s free giveaways should be the first step in solving the illegal drug problem.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I think it's clear President Trump is fighting on multiple fronts here, it is a complex problem, not a simple one as some suggest. Trump is definitely ending much of the government's free give aways... its really why the left is so howling mad, their gravy train is being cut off.

Also, fentanyl that Venezuela is trafficking into the US on behalf of China has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans…no reason? Mmkay, Jan. I just hope that this regime change goes better than others have in recent years in the Middle East.

Kenpowoman's avatar

An important distinction that's being overlooked is that this is being presented as a law enforcement operation -- Maduro has outstanding indictments in NYC -- with military support, not a military operation from the get-go.

Roger Beal's avatar

Thank you for making an important observation.

Robird's avatar

You understand that is a significant issue I hope.

The precedent of attacking a sovereign country to enforce a warrant in the US can just as easily be directed at a US citizen in this country who has an outstanding warrant in a foreign country. If Canada indicts Mr Trump, are they justified in a sneak attack on Mar-a-Lago to capture him? And yes I know Canada does not have the capability to accomplish this, so spare the

gratuitous dismissal.

The argument that Maduro is like Hitler is also lazy and false.

Maduro was a bad guy. I do not mourn his loss of power. But this action is full on neo-con regime change. I thought Trump fore-swore this reckless behavior.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Sorry, wasn't reckless in the least. Maduro had to go and it is good for Ven, for the USA and for the world that he is gone. Venezuela had already voted for regime change and it was brutally put down by Maduro and his brutal dictatorship and terrorist regime. There were many reasons this needed to occur, you should seek to research and understand them instead of simply writing it off as "full on neo-con regime change and reckless behavior". That is heaving some serious bovine excrement.

Robird's avatar

Good job at adding your own misrepresentation. No mention of “ reckless” in my original statement . If you could be accurate that would be honest.

Please explain how this differs from the neocon operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the ME that were justified as being good for the US and local populations by getting rid of bad guys.

And no response to abandoning concepts of national sovereignty and extradition operative for 3000 years.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

First, you do not get to dictate to me or anyone else how we shall respond to your stupid, woke, childish comments in your pathetic effort to protect specious arguments.

Who wrote your previous stupendously weak screed, your mom? What is the second to the last word in it? Oh, that's right, reckless. If you don't even know what you claim to write and then try to cast your misrepresentations on someone else, how can anything else you say be taken seriously. Here's your full sentences so you cannot go back and edit it, then claim you never said it: "Maduro was a bad guy. I do not mourn his loss of power. But this action is full on neo-con regime change. I thought Trump fore-swore this reckless behavior."

That you try to label Trump as a neocon, and don't understand Trump is a Populist Nationalist says so much of why you believe the bullshit you subsist on - and why you have the unnatural, psychotic hatred of him. By the way, how old are you? Where do you live? Are you a he, she or it, please post your pronouns.

In another reply to one of your vacuous, air headed posts, I gave you your assignments for understanding the situation for what it is instead of the gaslighting which you suck up from MSDNC. Go do your homework.

Robird's avatar

Great personal attack, very clever tactic.

Lots of projection and straw man arguments.

Weak reasoning.

You are not a serious person merely a propagandist.

I will not bother to ask you to critically think again as you have demonstrated that is outside your skill set.

Juju's avatar

So … I’m sitting here thinking/wondering: we ALL know there are multi-faceted issues behind Venezuela, drugs, their dishonorable dealings with the oil, interference and destabilization of the US by China and maybe Russia by way of Venezuela, and … the biggie … election fraud in the US - just to name a few. What if one of the best ways to snag those guilty of the election fraud in our government is to get Maduro to spill evidence in exchange for his life? I mean due process leads to discovery, right? He knows much. There “might” be a lot more to all this than simply drugs (which alone is enough in my mind) or “we’re stealing their oil!” (which is low IQ slobber by TDS individuals.)

Starsky's avatar

Read Elizabeth Nickson’s Substack today. Venezuela hosts the servers that were behind 72 rigged elections over the past 20 years, USA, Canada, and Europe.

Valerie's avatar

I read her article too, she’s great!

Robird's avatar

So, those servers cannot be disrupted by skilled hackers?

This is presented as a justification for today’s US strike? Please clarify the logic here.

Robird's avatar

Are you reporting yourself as a bot? Interesting admission. Perhaps you need to be a bit more discerning. If you object to a comment, specific information to respond to the comment rather than a thoughtless accusation is a more civil and even Catholic practice. Do you have a specific objection or just general lack of understanding?

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

It was one of many reasons, delbert. That you refuse to see and understand that says a lot about your reasons to post on here.

Robird's avatar

Who is delbert?

Refuse to see what? What divinations are you revealed by divine power into my motivations.

You claim to be 100% MAGA. One of the core precepts of MAGA is to have no unnecessary foreign wars and waste of US resources for nation building and world police. This whole project is legal through US law, but taking control of another country is not part of a routine law enforcement action. Claiming justification that the Maduro regime is not legitimate is classic military/ intelligence deep state rhetoric to cover destabilization and regime change plots. Just because Trump does it is no excuse for the continued flagrant abuse of US resources.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

YOU are delbert. Try to breathe and oxygenate that single remaining brain cell between your ears.

First, go read the 1989 legal precedents set down because of the Noriega operation - I have faith, Im sure you can find it. Let me know if you can't,

Then read the indictment documents which provided all the predicates for arresting Maduro. Again readily available but let me know if you can't or wont find them because you would rather choose to remain indoctrinated instead of informed and educated.

FTR, I don't claim to be 100% MAGA, I am 100% MAGA. Just because you don't or wont understand that MAGA means Make America Great Again and that means doing what is necessary to restore our country, including removing/arresting terrorist dictators who have and are doing great harm to our country, is your short coming, not mine.

So, please go and educate yourself so you understand the situation for what it is... but I strongly recommend you give yourself a cranial rectumectomy first - you know - pull your head out of your ass and breath some fresh air. I think it will help you see everything much more clearly.

PapayaSF's avatar

There’s a claim the servers were disrupted by good guys in 2024, preventing another steal. I have no opinion on that aspect. The argument is that there are many reasons for deposing Maduro, and that one of them is to get more evidence of election fraud.

B Smith's avatar

Hmmm. Ok. Thanks.

It's well worth your time to understand the situation for what it is, instead of what the ever hating left wants you to believe - so they can stay in power and keep their massive grift going.

B Smith's avatar

Not sure I quite understand either. But. If it’s true that servers in Venezuela were used for processing US election results, that would raise an eyebrow, wouldn’t it? Why would that be necessary or wise?

PapayaSF's avatar

It wouldn’t be. It’s illegal. The argument is that it was done secretly.

CStone's avatar

I guess we are just supposed to be content with the 60 year "War on Drugs and human trafficking" and on manipulated elections which has kept the lunatics on the left in power over us. As the USA WE ARE GOING TO HAVE FOREIGN ENTANGLEMENT IF FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN THAT THEY WANT TO BE ENTANGLED DESTROYING OUR GREAT COUNTRY. Trump did what needed to be done for years and did it quickly and efficiently with minimal loss of life - NO loss of life or equipment on the American side. Conservative Contrarian's avatar

There's no credible evidence the supply has decreases is there? Eventually the cost might go up but that could mean a few more houses, stores & cars have to be broken into or robbed to pay for the increase.

Are you the guy who thinks prohibition in the 1930's was an effective way to cut down on drinking?

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

There's not? We have witnessed multiple boats loaded with supply destroyed. We have seen China acknowledge their role in stopping the flow of the materials necessary to manufacture. I guarantee closing the border has dramatically reduced the supply. And the ICE operations apprehending those responsible for distribution, CBP stopping more drugs at the border, but I guess you missed all that. There are other operations occurring which you have not a clue about. Are you really that blind?

I don't recall mentioning anything about the prohibition in the 1930s - thats a ridiculous observation, mixing apples with oranges. Are you the guy who has supported the 60 year fake "war on drugs"? Were you profiting from it?

CStone's avatar

I guess you don’t think we can arrest our way out of lawlessness either, right?

Trump Invades Venezuela

Posted Jan 3, 2026 By Martin Armstrong

...The New York Times instantly wrote:

“Mr. Trump has not yet offered a coherent explanation for his actions in Venezuela. He is pushing our country toward an international crisis without valid reasons. If Mr. Trump wants to argue otherwise, the Constitution spells out what he must do: Go to Congress. Without congressional approval, his actions violate United States law.”

What I find most curious is how biased the press is against Trump. Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson sent U.S. Marines and sailors into Central America at least 15 times between 1902 and 1920. The 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama, code-named Operation Just Cause, which resulted in the capture of Panama’s de facto leader, General Manuel Noriega took place the same way without asking permission from Congress. That applies to a declaration of war...

...Trump has the (responsibility of) protecting American lives because of the flood of drugs that have been orchestrated from Venezuela and the Democrats lamenting about killing people on drug boats rather than the concern about Americans dying from the drugs.

Nicolas Maduro and his wife were indicted in the Southern District of New York, the most corrupt court in the land. There is no way they will receive a fail trial. Trials in NYC are always a dog and pony show. The judges do as they are told and the court of appeals is a joke. This is only to make it pretend to be legal instead of just shooting him on the spot.

This is all illustrative of the deep seated polarization in politics. The United States is now so divided, it is like Iran vs Israel. There is no possible way to unite the nation. This is why the United States will eventually divide. Each side sees only their view and there can never be any compromise.

The left are always upset about everything Trump does. SSDD. Perhaps they should be worried about illegals since they are without proper documentation.

You dont' have to be on the left to question military actions that don't make sense. And we have no money. We actually are $36 trillion in debt, but hey, who is counting!

Election rigging courtesy of Venezuela and Serbia is well documented and indisputable.

Emerald Robinson and Patrick Byrne brought the receipts. Not the fake news echo chamber.

Narco terrorism is one way puppet Maduro created massive wealth.

Nabbing him in a precision operation has been announced.

Will that stop either election rigging or Narcotics flooding our country??

Expect the removal of the voting machines to be replaced with ID dependent same day paper ballots. There will be massive protests from the Left.

In your list of suggestions about what to do about the rampant Somali fraud, you missed the easiest, most simple one. Unless the laws have been changed since the '60's, naturalized citizenship does NOT have the same rights as people who are born in the US. You can have your citizenship revoked and be deported for committing crimes. I do not recall there being any specificity about the nature of the crimes, AKA it is discretionary to the government. You might want to check and see if this is still in effect. That would make deportations easy peasy for any number of crimes.

Veranda Vamp's avatar

Right on. Deportation of people given temporary refugee sanctuary is the only solution. The Somali community is incapable of assimilating and the word “temporary “ must be honored. Trying to accommodate Third-World mentality into our society can only tear at the fabric of our trust-based system.

Laureen's avatar

I want my money back from them first. take whatever they have that is valuable (that is unlikely they have anything) then 5 years of backbreaking labor working for free 15 hours per day. then send them back.

Paul Bozeman's avatar

Seems simple to me. Fed transferred money to state and paid it a percentage to administer the distribution. Just recover all the money sent to MN for this program and let MN decide what and how to proceed. The governor and department heads (and any others that were accountable) should be charged and prosecuted for any and all federal infractions.

Skeptical Actuary's avatar

The fraud is going on in every state with Somali communities. There have been similar exposes in Ohio and Washington state.

There's going to be a lot of fraud in all the blue states, and a fair amount in the red states as well. It just depends on how closely the states are checking.

Laureen's avatar

A follow up on weak men.

Hard times create strong men.

Strong men create good times.

Good times create weak men.

Weak men create hard times.

I believe much of weak men and hard times begin at home with fathers. I had shared this with TriTorch.

Sometimes it’s difficult to talk about fathers. I know so many people that had grown up without a father, or a father that was always at work, a father that was abusive, or a father that abused substances. Everyday I see the results of what a father did to his own daughter, I’ll leave it at that.

I wanted to begin with my father. I’ve always praised my father, he was a great man. I consider myself the luckiest kid in the neighborhood where I grew up, even though he died when I was just 20. He was a WW2 veteran that worked until he retired despite the fact he was 100% disabled from being shot through his back in The Battle of the Bulge. He didn’t drink and was there for us kids, but my father grew up in the depression. In Boston at that time there were no jobs so his father left when he was a small child to mine coal in Virginia. From what I understand my father was angry that he had left and wasn’t around for his mother or his siblings. You can imagine when my father’s younger brother got sick and died at 7 years old, and believed it was from malnutrition , the resentment my father must have carried with him. Many cycles that could have been passed down to us kids were certainly ended when my father married my mother and the 4 of us kids were born, but somethings remained.

Many guys are not very affectionate. Showing affection, they think, is not manly or maybe they weren’t shown affection themselves so now they have a hard time with it. Showing affection to your kids may not be easy for some but it’s certainly manly to do this that isn’t easy. This was one deficiency my father had, though he and my mother certainly provided for us kids and always made sure we were taken care of, he wasn’t one to show much affection.

Parents have the ability to impact their children like no one else can. Without the father’s approval and validation a child will feel a void. Every person needs the blessing from their father. Many adults struggle year after year with low self esteem, working all the time, trying to prove that they’re good enough, all because of their father’s lack of affirmation. Fathers have something to give their children, something that no one else can give. Others can tell them how great they are or how special they are but when a father tells them it holds a much greater weight.

As the father you have the God given authority to bless your child. Every time a father says I’m proud of you, I love you, your beautiful, God releases strength into that child. Value, confidence, security, those are more than just nice words, it’s what the Bible calls A Fathers Blessing. You are helping your child to achieve their destiny. It’s easier to think you don’t need to do this but it’s something that needs to be done. Don’t withhold your love, your affection or your approval.

I believe this one negative cycle passed from my father’s father through my father to me. Don’t let that happen with your kids. Always remember a blessing isn’t a blessing until it’s spoken.

Life is short. It doesn’t matter how old your kids are. A phone call saying, son have I told you how proud I am of you. It doesn’t matter their age, a child will always long for a father’s approval, it’s never too late.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished my father was around to see some of my accomplishments. As a carpenter I’ve fixed up our families houses, I rebuilt our lake house, though we struggle at times I can’t tell you how many times I wished he was around to see it and say good job son, I’m proud of you.

Know fathers, if a young lady doesn’t get the approval from her father many times she will try to get that approval from other men. She will go from relationship to relationship not valuing who she is because she has not been valued by the most important man in her life. You are teaching your daughter how other men should treat her. You’re setting the tone for how she thinks other men should treat her. You should set the bar high. Make her standard high for the man she will one day choose.

As we have learned our government tried its best to inject our bodies with harmful chemicals, they spray our food with poison, poison our atmosphere and divide us against one another, I think the most basic knowledge should be learning how much parents impact their children’s life. Knowledge is power and we should be aware that our childhood and the decisions our parents made have a lot to do with the rails that have been set that guide our lives. J.Goodrich

Deb's avatar

Very wise words. And over the years our government has done its dead-level best to dissolve the family structure! God gave us the family and it is to be a blessing and guide for our total civilization!

I have 4 adult children, all of whom made it home from the four corners of the globe this year for Christmas. Deo gratias.

Each of them (three men and a daughter) are acknowledged leaders. I could not be more proud of them, and I told each of them so.

Yesterday, I was standing in my front yard when a neighbor struck up a convo about my son’s Corvette in the driveway (he left it there temporarily while going on a cruise.)

Her son is a US Marine officer, and my youngest is a Senior NCO just back from the Far East where he led a USMC Augmented Force protecting the President in Tokyo.

I remarked “I honestly admire and look up to each one of my children.”

And they know it because I tell them so.

Quran 5:33 - The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. Nothing will change, except who is peddling the majority of the drugs. Even if they totally shut down the drug trade out of venezuela (which isn't a very big drop in the bucket ) - the vacuum will quickly be filled and it will be business as usual.

Happy New Year! Have a laugh (or two):

Three writers, Frank, Ben, and Carl, who were attending a author’s convention, booked a three bedroom suite on the 75th floor of a hotel.

Upon arriving back at their inn from the convention, a mortified receptionist told them, “I’m terribly sorry, but all the elevators are out of order. Until fixed, you will have to hike the stairs.”

Now, Frank was a teller of funny stories, Ben was a conjurer of spooky stories, and Carl was a crafter of sad stories. The three of them concluded that, to make the trek to the top more tolerable, Frank would tell the other two his most hilarious stories while they climbed from floors 1 to 25, Ben would intone his scariest stories from floors 26 to 50, and Carl would regale them with his saddest stories from floors 51 to 75.

They began the arduous climb to the tippity top story, and Frank banged out the zaniest yarns he had ever put to paper. By the time they reached the 25th floor, Ben and Carl were howling hysterically.

Then Ben started to intone his spooky stories. By the time they hit the 50th floor milestone, Frank and Carl were wide-eyed and hugging each other in fear.

Then the spotlight was turned on poor Carl, and just as he started to narrate his most sorrowful sagas, he shrugged his shoulders, looked down in sadness, dug his hands around in his pockets for effect, and it then struck him that he had just had the inspiration for his most mournful tale yet:

“I’ll tell my saddest story of all right off the bat,” he says looking up: “There once was a man named Carl who left the hotel room key in the car...”

....

A grumpy drill sergeant was addressing a squad of twenty-five exhausted men and said:

“I have a nice cushy job for the laziest man here. Raise your hand if you are the laziest.”

24 tired blokes quickly raised their hands, and the sergeant asked the other man “why didn’t you raise your hand?”

The man replied: “Too much trouble raising the hand, Sarge.”

“Mom, don’t get alarmed, but I’m at the hospital.”

....

“Son, please. You’ve been a surgeon there for 8 years now. Can we start our phone calls differently?”

....

Little Kate (on phone): My daughter is having high fever and sadly she won’t be able to come to school today!

Teacher: Who is this?

Little Kate: This is my mother speaking

Skeptical Actuary's avatar

That story of the hotel with the broken elevator reminded me of the time I stayed on the 3rd story of a place with broken elevator. I extended the stay one day, and found out when I got back to the room that the key card didn't work. I used my cell phone to call the front desk and made the guy at the front desk bring up a new key card. I really should have tipped him, but didn't think about it until I checked out, and he wasn't on duty then. They cut my room rate in half for the stay.

It wouldn't have been too bad if I still had good knees and a heart rate that didn't spike to 140 or so when climbing stairs.

The Russians told Trump to back off it and now there's a bunch of c17s heading to the UK as the ship steams back to Europe to evade sanctions. I think Trump is starting to show some backbone.

I've already been to Ukraine once before under Trump and performed assistance ops and even got a medal and a gift (piece of a KA52 they shot down and some armor from a destroyed russian tank) from them for my work
