Good morning. I want to post this here today - yesterday one of our C&C family reached out to me and offered to help me with my past due internet bill for which I had received a disconnection notice. Because of their help that is now paid. They told me they were "paying it forward" from help they had received this year from one of us.

I am sincerely grateful for their help, they know who they are. And I am grateful for this wonderful family we have here. Thank you.

In thinking about how spirituality helps those in need of help beyond traditional medicine, Alcoholics Anonymous is a perfect example. The success of the program often hinges upon one’s acceptance that a Higher Power is in charge of the universe and that if you let that higher power be in charge instead of trying to be the director, and instead concentrate on helping others by doing the next right thing, life will be much more enjoyable and fulfilling and the need to medicate oneself with alcohol fades away. AA is quite well accepted by doctors as a successful and life changing program.

AA is very well accepted and very effective. Other spiritually based programs include Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreats for healing after abortion, and a once-a-week program for abortion recovery, SaveOne. With Rachel's Vineyard, research by a doctoral student using before and after testing showed that the Rachel's Vineyard weekend was associated with statistically significant reductions in PTSD symptoms and shame, and statistically significant improvement in self-esteem. The doctoral student originally wanted to do the research on the SaveOne program, which gave similar excellent results, but her time was short and she was having trouble getting enough participation, to get results from enough women. So she switched to Rachel's Vineyard because they have numerous weekend retreats, and the program is complete in one weekend. So it was easier for her to get enough participants to complete the project with Rachel's Vineyard - she got data from 7 sites in U.S. and Canada. Both Rachel's Vineyard and SaveOne will take men or women or couples in their programs. Rachel's Vineyard is usually in a weekend format which can be Catholic or Protestant (two separate leader manuals, one the Catholic "Impramatur" and the Protestant one has very few differences, but was vetted by Protestant pastors. SaveOne is usually once a week similar to a Bible study with a workbook, though it can be done one on one, and their office in the Nashville area often gets contact from other countries where there are no resources to help, and they will work one on one by phone or zoom to work through the program. With Rachel's Vineyard there is always one mental health professional on the weekend, and a priest or minister plus lay leaders / helpers, and with SaveOne it is led by lay people like one would with a Bible study, though sometimes it is led by ministers. Both Rachel's Vineyard and SaveOne have been translated into many languages. Rachel's Vineyard retreats are being held in Russia, mainland China and Taiwan, and SaveOne also is being done, quietly, in China. Rachel's Vineyard is perhaps in as many as 70 other countries, while SaveOne is in 30 countries, and both in numerous languages. If anyone knows anyone who had an abortion, there is more info online, at rachelsvineyard.org or saveone.org and make sure they know there is "no judging. I have seen with my own eyes that sometimes when info is posted online about these healing programs, that people will say hateful things, that those who have had abortions do not deserve to have peace after that - and I won't repost some of the real ugliness that I have been shocked to see - but people do not realize how many women have abortions they do not want, including women who have experienced intimate partner violence, sometimes with violence and threats of violence from the baby's father, forcing the woman to have abortion, likewise, women who are enslaved in trafficking often have multiple forced abortions, minors are forced by parents - there is so much intimate partner violence, and so much coercion that even ACOG (American College of OB/GYN) which is pro-choice, and actually I would say pro-abortion, even ACOG says that there is so much violence and coercion during pregnancy that all women should be screened for this at the first pregnancy visit, once a trimester, and once in the post-partum period. Anyway, it's well known that many women have abortions they do not want, because of coercion or pressure from others, and for women who bonded to their baby, who wanted their baby and had an abortion instead, they have a much higher risk of depression and suicidal thoughts and behaviors, also risk of PTSD. Many women believe it is the unforgivable sin and it can be a lot to carry, and for some, it can persist for decades. And so many people have had abortions already, that people you know had abortions even you don't know they did - women had the abortion, but women and men both feel the results of that in many cases. For those who want to end abortion, a really good way is to help people to heal. Because when women and men have healed, their not ashamed to talk about their experience with abortion, and they often are instrumental in helping people to find better options. When everybody gets healed, it helps to heal our society. You can be a healer by just having a conversation about the above - talk to friends and say, I never knew this... women on every continent are seeking healing from their abortions - men are going to these retreats - and there's no judging. It is so important to say "no judging" because those who have had abortions or been party to an abortion always have a huge fear of being judged - and if that fear keeps them from getting healed, keeps them from knowing that God never stopped loving them... Well, always on Rachel's Vineyard at least some of the "team" have had a past abortion, which is important to know, because then you have a sense that there really is "no judging." Sheila Harper who wrote the SaveOne workbook publicly tells the story of her abortion and all that followed, she had the gun in her hand to shoot herself and was interrupted - but many of her group leaders also have had abortions, and those who have not had abortions are more the exception, but you can lead groups or co-lead without having had an abortion, but a lot have, so there is no judging. There is a lot more that I can't share here, too much, but these are other examples, but not as well known as they should be, of another type of spiritually based recovery programs. Not quite like AA in that, people do stay in AA for a lifetime, but after abortion, women and men heal and move forward, and don't keep coming back - though some choose to 'give back' by becoming leaders and helpers, starting new retreat teams or new SaveOne groups because it helped them so much, they want to help others. For those who are Catholic, get a copy of Evangelium which is available online, and read paragraph 99. Pope JPII prophesied that women, when helped to recover after abortion would become the most eloquent witnesses to a new way of looking at life. The two programs I mentioned are not the only ones, but these two abortion recovery programs both have some very important and unique features that I like them very much.

Another program is a Post Abortion Bible Study for women called Forgiven and Set Free by Linda Cochrane. She also has a companion study exclusively for men called Healing a Father’s Heart. Couples can go through the study together using their respective guides as women and men have different hurts. It is an eight-week once a week program.

Many women in the early 70’s after the horrific Row v Wade decision had abortions. There wasn’t ultra sounds offered back they. A glob or cells, not a baby and other lies were promulgated.

It was exactly what I needed. It was painful thinking about what I had done and can never take back. So many lies told to get women to murder their own babies. Circumstances are different for everyone but no one really rejoices in it as some people on TicTock or other social media platforms pretend to. It will catch up with them and presents itself with other destructive behavior.

Jesus heals. Jesus forgives. Confess and repent and you too will be set free from the guilt, shame, and the weight of what you really did. Yes, even abortion is forgiven with the blood of Jesus. He took our sins upon himself and gave us his righteousness.

Thank you Martha for bringing this up.

Never take back the guilt because it is covered by the shed blood of our Precious Lord and Savior Yeshua! I too suffered with recurring guilt over a poor decision made in my youth (before my salvation). A dear Christian friend corrected my heart and mind by reminding me that I was suffering from a guilt for an act that is GONE from my Life Book in Glory. She just went to meet Yeshua 2 years ago and I thank her every time I remember her sage, Christian advice.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I met Linda Cochrane and Sheila Harper at a conference in 2008. They were each supposed to do a breakout session about their programs, and they decided to one joint session together because "it's not a competition." The key things in any of the effective after-abortion programs are always healing in the relationship with Jesus if one is "out of fellowship" with him, or meeting him for the first time; doing activities that help to process the grief which usually involves a Memorial Service, or in SaveOne a "Night of Honor" to honor the memory of one's child, forgiveness of others who may contributed to the bad things that happened, pressure to abort etc., and then being able to heal in relationship to oneself. There are several programs that do this, each one with some unique features, but these things in common. Sheila said that she experienced her own healing through Linda's book, so of course she loves it, but God led her to do something just a little bit different. Very few programs will take men and women together, but it really does work out well that way, and that is something the Rachel's Vineyard and SaveOne both do, and they are in more languages and more countries than any other program. SaveOne is the only one I know where you could call from anywhere in the world, and as long as you speak English - which could be half of Africa, and also New Zealand and Australia - or any remote part of U.S. or Canada where there is no group, and they will find a leader to help you by phone or by zoom within 24 hours, and also for those who want to be leaders, that online training plus having a mentor makes it very easy to get started. But "Forgiven and Set Free" is a good program, and a social worker, Susan Layer, did a small research project on it when she got her master's degree, and it also showed statistically significant reduction in two categories of trauma symptoms, and significant reduction in shame. It's a good program for sure and overall probably has been used more than any other since it came out in the 1980's. It was everyone's go to in the early days. The first.

SaveOne is having its 25th anniversary this year. SaveOne has a "Summit" for leader every year, but one year it will be in U.S. and the next year in Europe, usually Vienna where the European headquarters is. This year being the anniversary year, it's in the U.S. and is expected to be a huge celebration. The global headquarters is in the Nashville, TN, area. Info on the 2025 SaveOne Summit is here: https://www.saveone.org/saveone-summit It's at Murfreesboro, TN, near Nashville. I don't know if you would know of any of the speakers - Georgette Forney is head of Anglicans for Life, and also co-founder of "Silent No More" which is women who speak publicly about their experience with abortion - women who suffered from their abortion and want to be "truth-tellers," Cindi Boston is I think Vice President at Heartbeat International which is pregnancy centers, maternity homes and adoption agencies in U.S. and globally, Brad Mattes is with Life Issues Institute, Chris and Sonya Horswell are coming from Vienna - they are heads of the European SaveOne, Allan Parker of Justice Foundation and it's outreach to women who had abortions which is Operation Outcry. The women of Operation Outcry speak publicly about their abortions - not everyone does, but many do, and they are a really good group. SaveOne, besides the after-abortion ministry which is how they started, also does ministry to those who have been sexually abused, because often, it's both. Women were sexually abused and then had abortions - but they have a Bible study, Finding You, which uses prayer and Scripture to heal from the abuse. It's meant to be a once a week Bible study for 10 or 12 weeks, but I was in a situation where a church district particularly wanted a weekend retreat, so I did use "Finding You with their group, and it was beautiful. Anyway, for anyone within driving distance, it's not a terribly expensive conference - it's $149 including meals for the whole Thursday evening through Saturday late morning - or just $25 to come for Thursday evening only, with the meal. But they frequently do online trainings for both SaveOne and for Finding You, and it's usually a 3 hour training, or half a day, and then they will assign you to a mentor who can answer questions etc. as you get started. IF you had a desire to be able to help others in this way. Before I had gotten with SaveOne, I had done more than 50 Rachel's Vineyard retreats, and those are amazing. You train by going on a retreat, and then by helping... have to stop, but you can learn more at the websites.

PS, near the end I meant the Catholic document Evangelium Vitae, paragraph 99, by Pope John Paul II, in which he said, "I would like to say a special word to women who have had abortions... the decision may have been shattering and the wound in your heart may not yet have healed..." but basically trust God who is ready to forgive... and that the women will be the most eloquent witnesses to a new way of looking at life.

This is lovely. We did something somewhat similar yesterday. Some of you may be familiar with the rock band, The Mavericks, one of my very favorites. They have a fall tour scheduled, and my husband, my friend and I had tix for their 11/2 appearance in NJ. Sadly, their lead singer and songwriter, Raul Malo, has been fighting cancer for over a year, and last month announced a big setback, forcing them to cancel a bunch of shows, including ours.

We then became aware that Raul’s wife has started a GoFundMe to help cover Raul’s significant medical costs, which are drastically increasing given his latest issue. While I detest GoFundMe for its leftist bias (Canadian truckers), we all immediately agreed we would donate the entire $360 ticket refund to Raul and Betty. Even though I recently left my job and money is a little tight right now, there was not even a question that we would help in this way. It is the least we can do to give back to a gifted artist who’s shared so much joy with us through his craft. (And we know that musicians usually don’t have 401(k)s or decent medical insurance.)

Things are not looking great for Raul, so if you are inclined to send some prayers his way, I know he’d appreciate it very much. May God continue to bless the C&C Army!

I believe it is a contract, which gives them $70 billion to invest in their “ wonderful and exciting” cancer, drugs, and mRNA vaccines. They want to use the deadly mRNA platform for just about everything. They use our tax money for research and development. I don’t know why they needed our money when they made over $100 billion on the Covid jab. I recommend the book The Pfizer Papers, where the authors compiled information from the trials after they Pfizer was forced to give it up in court, even though they pleaded they needed 75 years to release the results. The main focus of the trials? Was it respiratory health ? heart health? No, it was on reproduction, and the damage to pregnancies, sperm, count, and motility, etc. And the results were very bleak. Even before Covid, over the years Pfizer was found to be criminally guilty and coughed up billions of dollars in penalties. Of course, no one even goes to prison when they cause death and destruction . What happened is not surprising, since Trump‘s chief of staff has serious ties to Pfizer. Did you see the look on Kennedy‘s face? Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful Trump is in office, and very happy with about 95% of what’s been happening! But Pfizer is not our friend.

Thankfully our side has (mostly) finally seen the light on this issue.

God bless Jenny McCarthy. She was one of the only ones (and I mean *only* ones) of any public stature to stand up against the vaccine pharma cartel back in the mid-2000's when autism was first skyrocketing. Many so-called conservatives (stooges for the multinationals in reality) gleefully mocked her as an air-headed bimbo. Anyone who actually took the time to listen to her quickly realized she was very well-informed and articulate, and obviously intelligent.

We have been so lied to by our side for so long it really is unbelievable. We know the left are liars, that's a given. But how many have had the reckoning that our side was nearly as bad? Clowns like George Bush, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, John McCain, and Mitch McConnel are/were obviously corrupt, yet we continued to support them. Even worse we believed what they said without even bothering to see if it was true.

The autism/vaccine issue is what first made me realize that conservatism had been completely corrupted. Reagan was duped into signing the pediatric vaccine liability waiver, in good faith I believe, but disastrous still. His strong defense morphed into never-ending wars on behalf of defense contractors and Israel. His free markets became crony capitalism and wealth transfer to corrupt multinational corporations. The list goes on and on.

Again, God bless Jenny McCarthy, she is one of a kind. And God bless President Trump for staging a hostile takeover of the Republican party and purging these corrupt clowns.

Probably afraid of repercussions. The Right holds most of the cards in the federal government (except for the employees) right now, but the Left still dominates the Media, Academia, and other governments. Could edge into lawlessness as more federal laws are disregarded and not enforced. Hannah Arendt wrote a book called the "The Origins of Totalitarianism" where one aspect of it that she described was the total disregard for legality. A very interesting book!

Of course, California (my home state) is not following the CDC guidelines either. I think liability for C19 vaccine harm is mostly a Prep Act question, which has been extended to 2029.

Up until now, no legal challenges to the Prep Act have been successful. It's so disgustingly corrupt.

Given that issues such as vaccine & educational issues are left to to each state to decide, i think individual states can and will separate on these fundamental differences. California will continue to fall farther behind in education and health outcomes.

I'm surprised Massachusetts has continued to have such strong educational outcomes given their vaccination policies.

My kids are past vaccine checkpoints but i still feel we should move south as I don't see how they can raise their future children in this state. Of course I am torn at the thought of leaving family and friends.

The one that wants to stay thinks he'll just live in a gated community some day and put his kids in private schools. This way he avoids all the craziness.

Today Jeff focused on a hidden essential message and truth. Happiness depends on moral behaviour. Charlie Kirk often brought this up. Thus understanding is flushed out in this article...

"Comprehensive studies on universal happiness (actions and attitudes that always eventually produce happiness) vs pleasure, (defined here as temporary capricious desires that only lead to temporary happiness, and often for that individual simply due to the fact that any desired satisfied temporarily removes a restless want from the undisciplined heart, or base desires that if catered to promise temporary happiness but instead enslave, produce misery and destroy happiness) is NECESSARY for society to survive and prosper. (“Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness.” ~~George Washington)

This philosophy of happiness, is not impractical imagination. Everybody is a philosopher in that one’s ethos, emotions and desires, are inevitably and always one’s philosophy lived. What works can rightly be called wisdom. Giving in to undisciplined unwise desires, or “getting what you want”, has ruined countless lives and cultures. “Desires lead to restlessness, restlessness leads to acts, then the memory all betrayed, lets noble purpose go, and saps the mind, until purpose mind and man are all undone.” There is an additional spiritual side of life that is necessary for lasting happiness. Yet that requires a different understanding of the “epistomolgy of nomunea” and so will be held for a later post.

Unbiased scientific understanding what truly makes content individuals and prosperous societies, and teaching this in our families and schools, would be immeasurably more valuable and lead to spiritual tuned lives and nations. In short teaching the Bible’s ten commandments as “eternal rules of happiness” and showing how these are perfectly reflected in India’s “Satama Dharma” principles, along with understanding the foundational freedom principles of the U.S., would be ideal."

Again... the patient should have the option to choose what type of treatment they receive. Period. This once size fits all garbage is working my last nerve. Senators want more hearings to complain about it. Yeah, right. I've had enough of Senate hearings where nothing happens but sound bites. No special prosecutors either. Just let Bondi go to work and kick some Democrat ass. The Trumpster has her back...

Someone should propose a limit on how many hearings can be done. this is constant and stopping work from being done which is exactly why the libtards are engaging in this.

Good one! This is my cheat sheet, but as you can see, it is pretty thin:

Check the title for bias.

Demand primary sources.

Check the tone. Is the author trying to emotionally manipulate you?

Does the article present both sides?

Look for what isn't said.

Expand full comment
TB's avatar

Another one that Jeff often points out (related to your "primary sources" one):

Is the article reporting on facts they have verified, or are they reporting what somebody else has claimed?

(ie, a "somebody said something" story)

Here’s a good example of fallacious equivocation:

Premise 1: All stars are in the sky.

Premise 2: Some famous actors are stars.

Conclusion: Therefore, some famous actors are in the sky.

Fallacious equivocation is the Democrats’ favorite trick. Yes, it IS a vaccine, because we just changed the definition of ‘vaccine.’ So there.”

“But what the WSJ and the mockingbird media published isn’t real reporting, it’s just a rumor dressed up as fact by repetition. That’s literally textbook irresponsible journalism: running a market-moving headline about autism, Tylenol, and folate without either the actual report or a named official standing behind the claims.

I’m not saying it isn’t true, which is the point. Nobody knows, including the dumb reporters at the Journal. What a stupid story.”

Lying corporate media is on life support. I keep telling you these articles quoting only anonymous sources are pure propaganda. If it fits the narrative, any bad actor can supply willing corporate media reporters who will neither try to confirm or deny the story, but will merely run with it so long as its politically helpful.

I'm so glad they are getting to the root of the problem of "consensus". Those "experts" who literally killed George Washington by bloodletting thought they were doing the right thing. The Nobel prize winner, Antonio Egas Moniz, in 1949 for the lobotomy, consensus thought it was a breakthrough, till he took on the road and literally used an ice pick to lobotomize MANY people and his demise was the infection rate, killing these poor people. The consensus around COVID, of NOT treating anyone, "because we don't know what we are dealing with" was carp!! Consensus is just a few people getting together and saying, "lets do this, or that" and suddenly, it gospel! I'm angry at the medical profession for what they have done!

They have no concept of epistemic responsibility, that one is responsible for HOW one comes to a conclusion. They are swayed by the fallacy of Appeal to Authority themselves, and then inflict it on their patients.

An obstacle to correcting this is their pride. They will not want to admit that it was a mistake to think they "learned to be a doctor" by simply repeating back what they were told.

They confuse the sheer volume of what they learned to repeat back by rote with having been given an education in medicine.

YES! I am so tired of the "take the high road" mentality from the RINO sector that is just playing the shrinking violet and letting Democrats walk all over us. It is NOT 'going low' to stand up for ourselves and call them out on their BS. It can be done forcefully and respectfully, without having to resort to name calling, and it's the most effective way to stop bullies.

I don't give Bondi kudos often, but she has mine for holding her own in this derailed struggle session.
