HHS and CDC to make a major announcement on children’s health today.

For decades the left has always said it’s all about the children, it’s all about the children. If I never again see Nancy Pelosi’s twisted face say that again it will be monumental in itself. Throughout Nancy’s reign in the House children have gotten sicker and sicker. You never hear the left say things have gotten so bad with 72 vaccines injected into the arms of “the children” that now 1 in 31 kids end up with autism, this putting the mRNA child kill shots to the side. I’d love to see the Florida Policy put in place, parents and their doctor decide what THEIR CHILDREN are to receive for vaccines. These lying hypocrites, it never had anything to do with “the children” and everything to do with lobbyist money and their stock portfolio! J.Goodrich

It IS about the children…brainwashing them, indoctrinating them, separating them from their families, and turning them into property of the state. Mission NOT accomplished.

UPDATE WITH CORRECT LINK. Country singer John Rich (whom I had never heard of until recently, not being a country music fan) teamed up with the Department of Homeland Security to produce a 2 hour presentation on how we can protect our children from online predators. Well worth watching and passing on to parents and grandparents! Also listen to the song he wrote to draw attention to this plague. He’s also one of the owners of the new bank Old Glory Bank. We switched to it last January after our previous bank refused to let us use our money to buy crypto out of “protecting us”. That’s not their place, even if we lose money. It’s our choice to take that risk. I was so appalled by the big brother intrusion to my financial freedoms I switched banks. Old Glory protects our rights and freedoms and does not do what all the big banks do. It’s sometimes difficult when there is no brick and mortar branch in our state (they are in OK) but I like both him and Ben Carson (the other owner) so much I believe in them and want their bank to succeed.

I first heard of John Rich when he was on Tucker over a year ago to promote his prophecy song, which he said the words came to him from above all at once and all he did was put it to music. It was a good interview and… I didn’t know he was on Tucker again recently

The Marxist abolition of private property includes children, thus the abolition of the family. The equality of communism is a bulldozer that has left millions dead - approx 200 million in the 20th century. They say it takes three generations to forget.

Which I understand, is also the reason why Rome waited about 70 years before "developing" a conquered territory (e.g., Corinth, Carthage). 3 Generations--so those who had experienced the horror were no longer alive.

There's also an estimate of a 250-year cycle between valid democracies. Ours, of course, is totally invalid as we descend into the destructive end of another 250-year cycle. While we all appreciate Trump's wins this year, the forces of evil will not drift back into the shadows, which is why I reluctantly expect dark times ahead.

The article is void of any real “meat” or any actionable solutions, but I see how it can ring true for those who blindly scroll. But for those of us who are active in local and state politics and see what is actually happening on the ground, I don’t agree that we are being manipulated. My legislators have legalized child mutilation and chemical castration. They say out loud that once a child enters a government run public school, they are the property of state. They have codified abortion into our state constitution and made abortion legal up to and during the time of birth - without medical exceptions. You can be fined or risk losing your job for misgendering or deadnaming a student or coworker. While there is truth to separation and manipulation, there is also evil that must be fought.

Would you pass the info on to Jeff. If he's not familiar with the info in the book, it's pretty illuminating.

The Brown suspect is dead, but the real investigation has just begun. Brown and Providence leaders were tone deaf in celebrating last night when they offered no helpful information for 5 days, invited suspicion with their poor communication, and let the suspect escape into two other states who along with the feds got the job done as Rhode Island flailed. Wise Old Woman in the Woods's avatar

what do you make of a middle-aged guy, sliding into the old side, with a sizeable paunch executing 2 young students and a professor?

David K Thiel's avatar

My guess..... He was a failed Brown University student who finished his degree in Portugal and still could not become a successful physicist so he murdered two top students in a classroom he despised and then murdered a former co-student that did graduate and become a successful physicist. The shooters jealousy enraged him.

Juju's avatar

That narrative is too contrived for me but the one they will be using. I got the feeling by all the video footage of him in the neighborhood that he was hired by someone. He behaved that way. He even became spooked for his own safety when he came across that second guy and quickly moved away around the corner. I have a hunch that second guy may have been hired too, to get rid of the evidence of the first shooter, but they want to say the investigation is now closed rather than continue to find that second guy and interrogate him. I believe there is much more to this story and we will never find out the truth.

Susan Seas's avatar

You mean the same as the last … how many stories are there now that we never find out the truth of. 😑

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby? Please tell me the playbook is not repeating...

Lynne Morris's avatar

I have not seen anything other than he and the MIT prof attended the same program in Lisbon, then the shooter was at Brown from 2000 to 2003 in the physics department but did not graduate. His last known address was in Miami. No work history given yet. But he had credit cards.

PapayaSF's avatar

One of the things that still puzzles me: Why did he do it in that order? Wouldn’t the grudge against the MIT guy, being longstanding and personal, be his first priority? Then, if he gets away, he can shoot up a classroom at Brown filled with students he didn’t know. It feels like Ella Cook was targeted, and was (for some reason) a higher priority than the MIT guy.

Evangeline's avatar

My thought too. Pathological jealousy

James Goodrich's avatar

Something is seriously wrong here. Israel has been here in the states investigating the killing of the MIT professor. I have heard Israel received intelligence that Iran wanted to strike back for the Israeli and U.S. attack on there nuclear program. So many questions. Why would this guy have a storage unit in Salem NH? Why didn’t he go back to Florida? Why would he kill himself? Was he in Salem to get paid? Many witnesses said the shooter yelled Allah Hu Akbar, when asked why, like so many questions, wouldn’t they answer the question. The town president, and the police chief were both DEI hires, that pretty much explains the idiocracy of all those press conferences.

Wise Old Woman in the Woods's avatar

what that man yelled seems pretty easy to establish. And where are the interviews with the kids who weren't executed? It is all very strange. I read about the Iran connection but it seems very suspect to me.

Willing Spirit's avatar

Very strange. And what’s the connection to the MIT professor that warranted his murder?

PapayaSF's avatar

That I can imagine. They went to college together decades ago, so there was probably a grudge. But why that classroom and the people in it? Did he have a grudge against Ella Cook, or was she a random victim?

Willing Spirit's avatar

How much of a grudge does it take to murder people? I’ve lived long enough to know what grudges are, but I’m not killing over them.

PapayaSF's avatar

You’re more psychologically balanced, so old grudges don’t drive you to murder/suicide.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

He was a damn student.

Essay33's avatar

He was a student over 20 years earlier. Not last year. It's extremely strange that he'd show up after 2 decades to kill students.

Evangeline's avatar

God Bless America's avatar

And supposedly he put ten bullets in her head. That's beyond crazy.

Wise Old Woman in the Woods's avatar

a current student or former student? I thought he was a former student. And what is the connection with the MIT professor. Were both from Portugal?

Beckadee's avatar

They were both Portuguese and both studied Physics at the same Portugal university starting around 1995. Killer was a former student at Brown. I don't understand why he seemed to target Ella Cook, shooting her in the face and reported another 7 times. We will probably never know those details. I hope her parents sue the shit out of Brown and other students wake up and leave.

Juju's avatar

No they attended a college together in Portugal.

Cousin Clem's avatar

I'm not quite sure how anyone can stop someone who is hell bent on killing people. Unless you want to seal off campuses and make everyone who steps on to a campus go through an airport scanner, people that want to kill, will do it. To scapegoat the president seems a bit odd but if it makes people feel better, have at it. What is a person sitting in a completely separate office on campus (if she was even there that day) supposed to do when a nutjob decides to shoot up the place?

Occam's avatar

The outcry wasn't about stopping the killer, it was about how the authorities were seemingly protecting someone/something.

Also, they left the doors propped open on weekends to provide sanctuary for those who wouldn't otherwise have access - any guesses who they might have been talking about?

Juju's avatar

And they failed to have adequate security cameras that could have allowed them to solve the case in under 24 hours, saving the life of the MIT professor. The president is definitely deserving of the ire.

Roger Beal's avatar

In reality, Brown removed security cameras in several areas of the campus because progressive atudents complained about "police state surveillance".

SHug's avatar

Yes, and they quickly removed all of a students info from their websites, etc. Very suspicious actions, when the supposed shooter from Portugal has no real connection to those students.

>> some social media users widely circulated the name of another student, Mustapha Kharbouch, and alleged a connection to the shooting. This speculation was fueled by the disappearance of his publicly accessible profile pages from Brown-affiliated websites, including one with the Center for Middle East Studies. Kharbouch's own social media accounts (LinkedIn and X) also appeared to be deactivated or deleted.

Official Response: Brown University issued a statement condemning the "harmful doxxing activity" and clarified that removing online material is a standard precautionary safety measure when an individual is being targeted or harassed online.<<

Beckadee's avatar

Yep that was weird. That little shit needed to be doxed. Thank God for the feds stepping in or Sen Sheldon Whitehouse would still be telling people to shut up. So glad I don't live anywhere near that place. 🤣🥴

Dena's avatar

For starters she is supposed to make sure all that can be done is done to provide a safe campus for students. That they know & can identify who is on campus. One failed example is the lack of cameras in the area the murders took place. It’s been reported the college was under pressure to remove certain cameras in order to protect ice from identifying & detaining illegals. The safety of illegals trumped the students safety. This charge needs to be investigated & not swept under the rug. Also, a homeless man ( & prior student) has access to campus & may be living(squatting?) there? Then there’s the botched investigation- they still don’t know what witnesses were in the room where the murders took place. She’s at best incompetent & puts the institution at financial risk when the lawsuits come. The buck stops with her - She needs to go.

FH's avatar

I wonder about mega-lawsuits. From both families of murdered & injured, as well as current students. And if Brown receives federal funding, some/all may be at risk if it’s found Brown administration did not meet conditions.

If all that materializes, the president + senior officials will be forced to leave.

patrick.net/memes's avatar

There is an obvious way to stop someone hell bent on killing people.

A well-armed populace.

patrick.net/memes's avatar

"Recent research indicates that armed civilians are more effective than law enforcement at stopping active shooter incidents, particularly in areas where concealed carry is permitted. A comprehensive study by the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC), updated in November 2025, found that civilians with concealed handgun permits stopped 51.5% of active shootings between 2014 and 2023, compared to 44.6% stopped by police.

The study further shows that armed citizens intervene more frequently, reduce the number of casualties, and face a significantly lower risk of being killed or injured—police are nearly six times more likely to die during such interventions."

The only protection (not foolproof) is to own a firearm & know how to use it.

Robert Vernon's avatar

Almost universally, perpetrators of mass shootings are cowards whose primary criteria for selecting the location of an attack is that they be in an "uncontested" environment. The prohibition of concealed or open carry firearms on universities, churches, malls, etc. is nearly ubiquitous due to liberal orthodoxy, and thus create many, many "uncontested" environments. If educational administrators are unable to provide armed, Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) armed uniformed public safety officers in every campus building, college administrators would be well served to consider authorizing concealed carry qualified students and instructors to be armed on campus, and to vocally advertise this policy.

I'm happy that the Trump administration has reversed the wicked transgender policies of the Biden administration, but unfortunately it's too late for my son, Peter. In April 2024, at the age of 26, my confused son shot himself in the chest out of despair. I believe that he realized that trying to "change" from a boy to a girl was not going to solve his problems, but in fact made them worse.

To add to his confusion, many members of my family were "celebrating" his change, enabling Peter to live in this fantasy world instead of facing the harsh realities of life. I was the only one who refused to call him by his new name or refer to him as "she."

Some in my family still blame me for Peter's death because I did not "accept" his change. But I know in my heart that I was doing the right thing by trying to bring my son back into the light, instead of encouraging him to continue down a dark path.

My wonderful son is dead.

My “nice” post for Friday!

By listening and learning about people’s lives, knowing how we all were brought up differently, I’ve realized that we should never be rigid, hard or judgmental towards others. I have to admit one of the most difficult struggles I fight, is watching self centered politicians take and take, always putting themselves above others at the detriment to our country and all of us that are trying to just survive, but let that go. God give me patience.

I try my best to look at people through their eyes. You never know what people have been through in their lives. We can either see people with eyes of judgement or we can see them with eyes of mercy, eyes of love. The way you see people is the way they see you. Too often we judge people based on our own background, we are all different. We all have strengths and we all have weaknesses. Instead of showing judgement on people, without walking in their shoes, maybe we should try showing mercy.

Here are a couple of stories I hope you’ll love. The first is written by Elizabeth SiIance Ballard. The second story is author unknown.

Back in the 70’s there was a young boy named Teddy. He was in 5th grade and wasn’t doing very well in school. He wouldn’t participate, he was moody and didn’t get along with the other students. His teacher Ms. Thompson always said that she loved all of her students but later she would admit she didn’t really care for little Teddy. She couldn’t understand why he was so unmotivated, why he wasn’t willing to learn. He didn’t play well with the other students, his cloths were always messy and he constantly needed a bath. It got to the point where Ms. Thompson would take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, marking X’s, and finally putting a big F on the top of his papers

At Christmas the students would all bring Ms. Thompson a present that she would open in front of the class. Most of the presents were wrapped in fancy holiday paper with glittering bows, but Teddy’s present was wrapped in brown paper from a grocery bag. When she opened Teddy’s gift up a very plain bracelet fell out with 1/2 the rhinestones missing plus a bottle of inexpensive perfume 1/2 way filled up. Some of the students began to giggle. Ms. Thompson was smart enough to act like she liked it, she put some of perfume on, put the bracelet on her wrist and said oh it’s so beautiful. After class Teddy went up to the teacher and said very quietly Ms. Thompson that bracelet looks as beautiful on you as it did on my mother. And with that perfume you smell just like she did.

After Teddy left Ms. Thompson rushed to the files to find out more about Teddy. She found the paperwork it said 1st grade Teddy shows promise he has a great laugh, but has very poor home situation. 2nd grade Teddy could do better but his mother is seriously ill. 3rd grade Teddy is a good boy but is distracted, his mother died this year. 4th grade Teddy is a slow learner, his father shows no sign of interest in him. Ms. Thompson wiped away the tears and said God please forgive me.

The next day there was a new teacher, Ms. Thompson had become a new person. She took off her eyes of judgement and she put on her eyes of love. Now she understood why Teddy was so distracted. She took him as her personal project and began to mentor him, love him, make sure he felt accepted. Ms. Thompson was the turning point in Teddy’s life.

Years later she would get a letter from Teddy saying Ms. Thompson thank you, I’m graduating from high school 3rd in my class. 4 years later another letter, Ms. Thompson thank you I’m about to graduate from college 1st in my class. Years after that a final letter Ms. Thompson thank you I’m now Dr. Stoddard. I just graduated from medical school. It went on to say I met a girl and I’m getting married and wanted to ask you if you could sit where my mother would sit if she were still alive. Of coarse Ms. Thompson did. She wore that bracelet the one with the missing rhinestones and was sure to put some of the perfume on Ted had given her back in 5th grade. After the wedding they hugged and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Ms. Thompson ear, “Thank you for making me feel so important and showing me I could make a difference”. She whispered back, “Teddy you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn’t know how to teach until I met you”.

Story # 2

There was a farmer whose dog had some puppies. He put a sign on the fence in front of his farm “puppies for sale”. The next day the little boy from across the street came over, he was about 8 years old. He said mister I want to buy one of your puppies. The little boy pulled out a pocket full of change and said I have 39 cents is that enough. The farmer kind of laughed and counted each of the coins and said that’s exactly enough. The farmer called a worker in the barn to let the puppies out and 4 of the cutest fir balls come running towards the boy. He reached down to play with them trying to decide which one to buy. Just then another puppy slid down the ramp of the cage the other puppies had run down. There was something wrong with this puppies back legs. When it ran all he could do is hobble along. The little boy was immediately drawn to it. Without hesitation he said that’s the puppy I want. The farmer was puzzled and said no son you don’t want this puppy there’s something wrong with his back legs, he won’t be able to run and play with the other children. The little boy reached down and began to roll up his blue jeans. When he did it it revealed steel braces on each side of the boys legs with two specially made shoes. He said to the farmer, you see I don’t run so well either. This puppy is going to need someone who understands.

This world is full of people that needs someone that understands. We don’t know what people have gone through. We don’t know the hurt or the pain that they’ve endured. Many times If you took the time to know their story then you may have a different perspective you may not be so critical. If you would first walk in their shoes you would find out why they are the way they are. Sometimes we need to stop, take a deep breath, and remember not everyone is the same. J.Goodrich

oh, that second story brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing.

James Goodrich's avatar

Thank You Anne, I know it’s an exceptionally long comment, so I apologize for that.

Barbara Lee's avatar

Oh James, you touch my heart every week! But though I agree and believe with all my heart in “love thy neighbor “ , I cannot for the life of me understand or feel sorry for the modern day liberal woke Democrats. I have listened to them explain their positions and thus actions and find them so reprehensible as to deserve the same generous treatment being met out to Venezuela drug trafficking boats ie BOOM!💥 I would describe in more detail but after all, we ALL know the list: from medical liars that have sickened out kids to election scamming to protecting criminals. On and on. I DON’T think uncritical acceptance of differences will help the tsunami we are currently in.

James Goodrich's avatar

Hi Barbara Lee, thank You!! I feel the same. I don’t know how to forgive people that make money off of hurting kids. Maybe that’s part of the suffering that comes with the glory, I don’t know?

Barbara Lee's avatar

If I am not mistaken, God does not treat sinners kindly ( the purposeful and unrepentant types). I feel an obligation to forgive those that repent ( and sometimes we have to pay it forward) but none to determined evil doers. As for suffering, I have lots of questions to ask God when I get a chance but I have this sneaking suspicion that suffering is the only thing that breaks the ties that bind us to this world. I’ll tell you of a recent tragedy. Two families of my Amish friends were traveling home in September from a wedding. The van was hit head on and three were killed. The young mother that died with her 2 year old was one of those pure souls you occasionally meet in hidden places like humble farms. Her devastated extended family began experiencing a variety of events they could explain away almost but not quite. She appeared in a dream and talked with a sister. She said heaven was so beautiful she didn’t want to come back. And then to grandparents in an evening cloud dressed in the glory of colors she loved. And then to her 3 year old who kept asking “who is the white lady wearing a cap in the tree outside” and finally to her grieving husband who actually saw her standing before him. She said that he should not grieve for her as heaven was beautiful beyond description and she felt nothing but love and happiness. If there is suffering for souls, it isn’t for those pure ones who slip this mortal coil without a sense of loss but with compassion for those of us left behind.

James Goodrich's avatar

That is a sad but an uplifting story all in one. I posted this a couple weeks ago, it’s the suffering I was referring to. Though who really knows, I have faith I know that. Well here goes, you may have read this so I apologize for reposting

ALWAYS TRY TO DO THE RIGHT THING

We all have negative aspects in our personalities or in our lives that we have to deal with, many on a daily basis. It could be greed, an addiction, a bad habit, not treating someone right, a critical spirit. Anyone of these things can hold us back. God always wants us to strive to achieve a higher level. Any time we go higher part of our flesh has to go lower. If we are going to share in Christ’s glory we have to share in his suffering. There is a suffering that we as believers are supposed to endure. It’s not tragedies, sickness, living poor, broke, defeated, no, 1st Peter 4 tells us what it is. It says if you are willing to suffer for Christ then you have decided to put aside your wrong desires.

The suffering God is talking about is saying no to our flesh. When you resist temptation, when you bite your tongue and don’t tell someone off or say no to forcing dangerous vaccines in children to make a profit, or when you swallow your pride and forgive someone that hurt you. Your flesh will tell you this is not right, this is not fair, let me take the money. Many times it’s uncomfortable to make the right decision. We have to suffer through that period of not getting our way. When God asks us to do something hard, he asks us to walk away from a friend that is polluting our life, he asks us to be more disciplined in what we watch, God is never trying to take something from us He’s trying to give something to us. Whenever God is moving you away from from something He’s always moving you towards something better. God has our best interest at heart. If we will be willing to suffer through being uncomfortable, not getting our way, then our character is being developed. As we grow as we mature, Gods blessings will be released.

Whatever you feed is going to grow. If you feed your greed, if you feed your addiction, feed the jealousy, feed the bad habit, the hot temper, you just give in whenever you feel like it, it’s going to become stronger. You see, you need to change what you’re feeding. The next time you’re tempted, take a deep breath, step back and pray, God I’m asking you for your discipline, turn around and walk away.

When I started running my business I stopped hanging around with the people I grew up with. Most all of them stayed on that same wrong path, drinking, drugs, causing trouble, I had moved past that life. This didn’t go over well with them. They tried to pull me back, they tried to get between me and my family. They did things, they lied to me, and as hard as it was, being alone, losing my “friends” I stepped away, Without me even knowing why God had shown me the truth. I still see these people, some are even family. I realize now God had forced me to move away from them. 40 years later many of them are still feeding the same addictions, the same bad habits, the same poor choices.

Haven’t we seen this process in a large scale with the medical establishment and the government that ran it. It’s incomprehensible to see how so many chose greed over people’s health and well being. It seems obvious they ignored the conviction they felt inside. They chose their greed over honesty. Even if they were unaware forcing people to do things against their will, taking people’s freedom, taking away their ability to make a living can never be the right decision. It seems they ignored what God had brought to them for so long, that they became numb to that conviction.

It may be difficult but it’s always better to make right choices and be uncomfortable for a while than to keep going the same way and miss your destiny, the ultimate destiny being what comes after this life. The pain of discipline is temporary, but the pain of compromise is permanent.

One of the best prayers we can ever pray is God help me to stay sensitive to your voice. God help me respond to Your conviction. Help me not to go against my conscience.

Love this:

Men are men. Men can never become women. Women are women. Women can never become men. Children are innocent and they need our protection. It takes organized effort to deny these fundamental truths. Sadly, we’ve seen such efforts succeed from time to time. The denial of fundamental truths can destroy nations from within. At the root of the evils we face, such as the blurring of the lines between sexes and radical social agendas is a hatred for nature as God designed it and for life as it was meant to be lived. This ideology does not just deny biology, it declares war against it.

As part of the Biden administration’s war on nature, this department perverted the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. They pretended that gender dysphoria was a disability to force healthcare providers and programs to mutilate minors. Without the reforms Secretary Kennedy made today, more children would be coerced into life-altering interventions that many will deeply regret.

Thankfully, President Trump and Secretary Kennedy are stopping this madness and stopping the war.

Crazy how this statement of simple fact/belief is so outrageous for some

I suspect most Americans understand this and support it. It's been a while since it was safe to say something against progressive orthdoxy without being punished.

I hope we'll see this grow into a tsunami of people returning to reason.

The Touch of the Master’s Hand, By Myra Brooks, 1921 [Modified]

Twas battered and scarred ● And the auctioneer thought it ● Hardly worth the while ● Of any who bought it

But he held it up with a smile.

“What am I bid, good people”, he cried ● “Who starts the bidding for me?” ● “One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?” ● “Two dollars, who makes it three?” ● “Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going, going for three,”

No paddle stirred a single degree

From the back of the house an old bearded man came ● And he bowed and he picked up the bow ● Then wiping the dust from the old violin ● And tuning it up, just so ● He played a melody so pure and sweet ● As pure as the driven snow

With serene angelic tempo

When the symphony cleared, the auctioneer asked ● With a voice that was reverent and low ● “What now am I bid for this old violin?” ● As he aired it aloft with its bow.

Hushed-tones began their flow

“One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?” ● “Two thousand, Who makes it three?” ● “Three thousand once, three thousand twice ● Going and gone”, said he!

Now the master returned to his seat

The audience cheered ● But some of them cried ● “We just cannot understand why! ● What changed its’ worth, so drastically? ● Swiftly, came the reply:

“The Touch of the Master’s Hand.”

And many a man with life out of tune ● All battered and bruised and boxed-in ● Is auctioned cheap in a thoughtless room ● Much like that old violin

A mess of dejection, a plunge of despair ● A lament, then he travels on ● He is going once, he is going twice ● He is going and almost gone

But then the Master comes along

And the foolish crowd never can quite get ● The worth of a soul and the change that is set

The Left’s on again, off-again relationship with ethics and morals seems a bit dubious to me, if not nakedly opportunistic and self-serving.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

They are always on "off" when it comes to morals and principles.

The Imaginary Hobgoblin's avatar

Well yes...to us they're always off, but they seem to think they occupy the highest ground when it comes to morals.

Trump’s response to Rob Reiner's murder was not the best, especially given the context. (I’m no fan of Reiner, for obvious reasons, but what a horrifying way for a civilized person (let’s not forget his wife) to have his earthly pilgrimage snatched from him). While they were ill-timed and wide of the target, Trump’s remarks weren't even in the same ballpark as the Democrats' brazen refusal to stand and recognize a child with terminal cancer, a freed American hostage, or the murder of Laken Riley who was brutally terminated by an immigrant invader. Health experts Jimmy Kimmel, Keith Olbermann and Howard Stern - to name just a few - wished the unvaccinated to DIE. Contorted pumpkin head, Kathy Griffin in 2015 thought toting around a severed bloody prop head resembling Trump was wholly appropriate. (She reposted the image in 2020, recanted her coerced lame apology, and is back on tour in 2025). I would say that Democrat Jay Jones’s comments about killing Republicans and watching their children die is light years more ugly and revealing than Trump’s comments….and he paid dearly…. by WINNING AN ELECTION AS THE NEXT ATTORNEY GENERAL OF VIRGINIA. Democrat Bennie Thompson referring to the shooting of 2 National Guard troops as an “unfortunate accident” was monstrously vile and disgraceful. And lest we forget the absolute jubilance of the Left after the assassination of Charlie Kirk was, and still is, particularly disturbing.

Barely a day goes by when I don’t witness an effigy of Trump being mercilessly bashed, stomped, dragged through the streets and/or set on fire. He’s repeatedly the target of lies concerning every imaginable topic, hauled through the courts on totally bogus charges and has survived two assassination attempts. I remember the marked and full-throated disappointment of the lunatic fringe on both occasions. Imagine, if you will, what the response would be at the news of a SUCCESSFUL Trump assassination? The ensuing lurid street party with all manner of bureaucratic fraudsters, pompous Hollywood creeps and low brow street urchins would be covered from coast to coast in all its sickening barf bag worthy glory. I wonder what Rob Reiner - a most rabid hater of all things Trump - would have said about that? I guess we'll never know…..but I have my suspicions.

While not necessarily appropriate - Trump’s comments reflect a genuine 100% visceral response. I’m not sure I would have fared much better than he did given the totality of the circumstances. It reminds me of a batter at the plate that continually gets beaned by the pitcher to the point of absurdity. Everybody’s got a breaking point.

For proper context, here’s Mr. Childers moonlighting on youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xWk0TCrkLOs

Carrie's avatar

Thank you for saying that. I too believe Trump could have left out negative comments about Reiner…. But then I shrugged my shoulders and moved on, because in the big scheme of things, most of his presidential actions have been good for this country and its people. I wish those on our side would practice a little deflection like the left. Instead of responding to a leftist by saying Trump was wrong in his statement, respond by saying how awful the violent murderous left is. In our case the deflection is based on truth.

Vance exhibited a good example of this recently re the vanity fair article where Wiles called him a conspiracy theorist and allegedly said other negative things about him. He responded by saying “yes I’m a conspiracy theorist and they’ve all been proven correct…” then he listed examples. He brought the receipts off the top of his head.

RunningLogic's avatar

People focused so much on the “mean” parts of what he said, that when I read the actual statement, I was surprised to see he also expressed sadness about what happened.

I think it would be an interesting exercise to get AI to compile a list of all of the vile and vicious things Reiner had said about Trump, his family and his supporters to compare with Trump’s statement.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

Apparently, Reiner was part of the "soft coup" along with the likes of Brennan and Clapper; I saw that he met with them. I'm sure Trump knew this. And reading Trump's Truth Social post he clearly shows he has a heart and does not gloat at someone's death, even Reiner's. The haters refuse to acknowledge that.

RunningLogic's avatar

I liked a lot of Reiner’s films but he was a pompous, self important, angry and vile person about anyone who disagreed with his political views. His death was horrible and sad. He doesn’t get a free pass on how he treated people in life because of that, however.

SHug's avatar

I am disgusted. Not by DJT said, which was simply unkind, but by Reiner himself and all the whitewashing now going on since he was killed. Do not forget - Reiner was a "close associate" of Epstein and visited Epstein island around 20 times. That may be where he & his wife got so close to Barack & Michelle. I've seen suggestions that he was abused himself as a child by his own father, and may have carried on the family tradition with his own son. I do not know. But he became a disgusting pig with his political rants and his self grandizing certainty that he, and only he, was right all the time; and not just a "meathead", which was Archie Bunker's term for a liberal, white guy.

rolandttg's avatar

I have listened to Al Franken's cruel roast of him, and a few other things, and it does not seem unlikely that he was abused by his father, as he abused his son. Would explain a lot.

SD Scott's avatar

This is how I see it. Too many children of celebrities turn out whacko. Like Chet Hanks - and Tom Hanks has all but outed himself.

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

Can we now admit that Archie Bunker was not just foolish?

SD Scott's avatar

Archie was right all along. Even though the show was like a psy op aimed at dishonoring tradition and fracturing families.

I’m even cynical enough to suspect that Reiner’s TDS may’ve been a propaganda move to influence the TV show’s many fans politically.

However, if Reiner was an Epsteiner, he would have personal reasons to oppose DJT in order to keep his own crimes concealed.

Peace's avatar

If Reiner is so mean to people in public, I can only imagine what went on, in the relative privacy of his home, with his son as he was growing up.

kittynana's avatar

@SH- I highly doubt he was abuse by his father. They had a very close relationship and you can see it in clips of them together.

Their report was so damaging, so bad, that yes they weighed the backlash of showing it against the backlash of not releasing it and saw that they would never recover from the fallout of its results if it were released - that’s how bad it must be. That alone should rattle their base. But as always they believe it’s easier to spin the forward-looking narrative than handle the truth being exposed.

Definitely an interesting roundup today. I can't imagine how bad that post-mortem report for the (D)ifferent party must be to choose _not_ to release the details after swearing it would be made public. Not surprised by that, but wondering how many will just shrug and move on.

I was glad to see Dugin get a conviction, though at least one commenter noted that it was partly because it was a Federal case so pulled in jurors from counties that were less likely to be sympathetic to the case. It was also really easy to see this judge blatantly abusing her office on another 80-20 issue. Now if we could get the _rest_ of these often unelected and rarely accountable judiciary members to face similar scrutiny and trials.....

The bigger news - looking forward to HHS completely destroying the "gender affirming care" industry and those who have pushed it. It's time to protect kids from those who want to harm them for ... social clout? money? both? As far as I know, there's still a TX dad who has been sentenced to jail or pay for his wife to "transition" their son (when she fled to CA with the kid). I feel for these kids who have parents pushing this nonsense on them and greatly respect people like Chloe Cole who are speaking out on their real experiences at the hands of the butchers.
