Most politicians are bad husbands. As a boyfriend, they say the right things, do the right thing and are very appealing. Once you marry them...BAM! Someone totally different emerges.
Franklin, the linked to article is good and I wish more people held these perspectives, and moreover firm understanding.
Unfortunately, the States and the central government of federation are no longer an assemblage of constitutional republics, nor a republic ... nor even anything close. The complex designated as 'the United States' is an empire and located somewhere a comparative timeline as to the period in which Augustus assumed power in Rome. Yes, both Augustus and American presidents of recent decades have employed the language of the republics, but only when it suits convenience to ambition. The American early law has been subverted, usurped and replaced with something more akin to Universal Commercial Code, and with this codification transiting it is no accident that the people, once lodged in Liberty, are now being themselves slavishly tokenized. American, in effect, are becoming mere commercialized units economic abstraction, effectively dehumanized. In fact, I became aware and incensed at this transitioning when I took the time out to read the Windows 11 end user license agreement. I became so incensed at what I read that it caused me to migrated to open source Linux. And no regrets there because I am sick and tired of being owned by corporations and relegated to end user slave class status.
I am not sure that the writer fully understands what money is. Currency is not money. Only money is money. And in the Constitution for the United States, and even in the Constitution of the United States, money is only precious metal coinage and nothing else. The paper 'money' used under the United States constitutions (government of federation) were certificates of claim. That is, one could on demand present any certificate at the United States Treasury in exchange for for money, coinage in gold and/or silver. The bank facilitated this arrangement so that people did not have to travel to Washington, D.C to redeem notes (certificates).
Safe to say, Americans live outside the constitutions save in name only. Any pretense otherwise is the ruling classes' favorite game of Fool the People.
Whose millions? Ours. Paid for with generations' worth of blood, organs, and bodies. Still his own special Hell.
The administration of Justice is the sole province of God. Our response-ability is to acknowledge wrong-doing, clearly separate ourselves from it, realign ourselves with virtue, and pay conscientious attention to the waxing and waning of Truth, both in ourselves and others.
Source please? I searched around and found other names on the patent but not Fauci. AI says Dr. John Mascola, Dr. Barney Graham, and Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, as NIH researchers but Moderna took the NIH to court over this because they say their own scientists conceived the genetic sequence. Would like more information if anyone has it.
Not a moment's rest or peace from God exacting Justice in His own way, time, and wisdom. Waiting for the hammer of Justice to drop. Never hearing the bell of freedom. Nevermore belonging to the human family. Never again feeling love, only fear, envy, doubt. Never again speaking a truth or feeling its power to heal.
I don't believe that even registers with him as he has no conscience. His ilk love him and he gets accolades all the time still touring around the US being paid for speaking engagements. Yes, God will take care of him in the end but to see visible justice here for the millions he killed and maimed would be satisfying.
Do you truly think the ongoing accolades reach his twisted heart? Are the payments ever enough? I agree that for the rule of law to be carried out in the U.S. will be satisfying and a model for Peace and Justice. Healing of humanity requires this. Anything short of this carries on the damages.
Yes. But even they may repent and He, in His infinite Mercy, may forgive them. Only He can judge as to whether their repentance is genuine or not. So, that’s why He judges who exactly goes to hell or not.
Hunter gets a pardon when Joe swore he wouldn't issue one and Hunter is seen in close proximity to the autopen in the closing days of Biden's Whitehouse days so, did Hunter apply the magic pen to his own pardon? A harder question is "Who's buried in Grant's tomb?"
I agree, but would only add the caveat: "anything President Autopen signed without corresponding WRITTEN authorization demonstrating clearly that the actual President Biden authorized the signing of said document WHILE demonstrating that he understood the contents of what was being signed" should be considered null and void.
High school biology lesson. Staph P., is a bacteria. Vaxs and quaxs (mRNA) are suppose to be for "Virus"
Cannot create immunity for an entity that does not exist. None are even said to be useful for bacteria... Immunity is far too complex a topic for the "comment" section
Jax is such a mixed city. So many really nice and also historic areas.
But also enormous zones of hood decay. I don't see how those people sit on their front porch all day when there's trash floating along the curb. They just don't care.
We're about to make a visit to Green Cove Springs. All this time and we still haven't been.
this is what the christian bible has to say about feeding the poor and hungry. I truly hope you meet up with the god you profess to believe in.
MATTHEW 25:31-40
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, “I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (NIV)
True, we should be good samaritans but what about the ones who lie on the applications to receive benefits. Generation after generation they know how to play the game ..... we the hard working tax payers who can not afford the big steaks and seafood at the grocery stores. If you have a SNAP card you can buy all this and all the junk food you can fit in 2 baskets. There are people who absolutely deserve SNAP but if you are an able bodied person who can work then “no” you should not continue to receive benefits. The people who abuse these benefits need to go to jail. ❤️🙏
and you have direct knowledge of these generations of people and their actions? here in texas the benefits for a single person went down to 163$ month. not a lot of room for excess.
On the other hand, the Bible also talks about the poor in the Law. That one of your tithes was to go to the orphan and the widow. (In other words, the LEGIT poor) Also, if you harvested your field, you were to leave the corners and whatever dropped for the poor. (But they actually had to come work to get it!) Genius!
The tithe went to support the levites, the priests & judges. They were no doubt distributing to the poor.
Levites also ran the sanctuary cities of each tribe, where manslayers would flee for refuge until the death of the high priest. There were lands around these cities that were for the use of the levites.
Soon you'll need a smart phone to get groceries and access to any govt service once you deploy the TrueID app and comply with all the requirements (vax status, etc).
I was responding to someone else. Ellen Mayer. She said she had a REAL phone and I can't afford one anymore, because it costs too much. I still have a desk phone, but it's a new fangled phone. 😉😂
and we need to look at what SNAP subsidizes in poor health outcomes: Soda and all those sweet treats and ultra-processed products should not all into the category of "Nutrition"!
I wrote this on another substack: the poor go for quantity, not quality.
They will be screaming like stuck pigs if you take away their ultra processed food. A roast for one meal costs $25+. They can get eight or more frozen dinners for that same amount of money. I can't necessarily disagree with their thinking, especially if they have a few children and both parents are working.
Free phones used to be given out to recipients of SNAP benefits. They were called Obama phones. I knew a guy who had 5!!!! of them. I’m not sure if this is still the case.
We buy the cheap $50 pay as you go phones from the store. They usually last us at least 5 years. Then pay like $15/mo to use it. $50 phone works just fine...
I'm always stunned at the amount of applications people have on their phones. I use it for texting, occasional calls and getting directions. My phone is many years old but still does all I need it to do.
I'm sure there are thousands, or even tens of thousand of such people. But I don't like it when low income people are smeared with such a broad brush.
Unless you have a study that says some fairly large fraction of people on food stamps are using high end phones, please don't say that. I think most people on food stamps are using a phone that probably was worth $150 to $300 when new, and they are using a prepaid plan like tracphone (if that still exists).
By the way, we are doing moderately well these days, and are not on food stamps. We just upgraded my husband's phone from an old antique to a Samsung S23 FE that cost $210 on the resale market (note it's a 2 year old phone). I am feeling the pull to upgrade my Iphone XR after realizing how crappy the camera is, and in light of the fact it's a 7 year old phone. They are expensive though - I'm looking at a Iphone 12 or 13 and still balking at the cost.
No one resents helping the working poor....what they resent is what is blatantly supporting people who do not want to work...who fulfill requirements to find work by getting some employer to sign that they interviewed the person...been there...had people come in just wanting a signature....these people have no personal pride in self-sufficiency....anyone who doesn't know of these people (not recent phenomenon) is living a sheltered life....look at how people today cannot tell the difference between wants and needs...their wants come first and their needs are taken care of by the taxpayer...sorry...I do not mind helping the working poor but the rest can take care of themselves the old-fashioned way...get a job...any job...take pride in yourself...your inner self...
My take on today's cell phone conversation (pun not intended). It is a government tether, a tracking device, a listener and a watcher. Have you noticed how many food businesses offer a free 'app' where you gain privilege for frequent use? I'm sure they don't sell your habits to an A I data base.
Your phone is also your wallet, queue cashless society music. The better the camera the easier to pin-point where pictures are taken and create digital databases of the faces in that picture. Date time location and settings are already hidden in the picture data.
What could be better than a fancy mobile phone? No phone at all. How about a permanent phone embedded in your hand 😀! Forever charged and constantly updated. No one can steal it...without dire consequences to the owner anyway.
It's a brave new world, one where we have lost our anonymity, our privacy and independence. The slow comfortable and fun ride to full control.
LOL. I'm for kicking out all the illegals. And I'd happily go to Europe and send some Muslims straight to the loving arms of their 72 virgins, if given a chance to join up in a Reconquista. I'm in favor of three strikes and you're out laws, telling the Blacks that they are to blame for the communities dysfunction because of their illegitimacy rates, and so on.
I'd be in favor of reforms like only allowing healthy foods to be purchasable with EBT.
But a lot of you seem to think that poor people or people on assistance are freeloaders - period. That's just wrong.
Why don't you try to figure out how much a semi-skilled person can expect to make per hour and then go work out a budget, using current apartment rates? The math doesn't work out.
I went from an X to a 12 a year ago and got it as a refurbished for about $350. I haven’t bought a “new” phone in at least ten years when they all started costing over a grand and the phone company stopped comping a new one with a plan extension. And the upgrade requires the old one to actually stop working otherwise what’s the point?
When people upgrade their fairly recent phones for a newer one, the old ones are turned in, checked out, fixed where necessary, and resold by another company for a much lower amount. An AT&T person told me that.
Here’s a tip if you need a new phone. backmarket.com For a used phone. And they’ll take your old device for a reasonable price. I went to them because I didn’t want to go any newer on an iPhone then the 11, for 5G reasons. They have an excellent guarantee and they have all types of used devices.
Do not give the illegals more free medical, they already can get all the free healthcare they need at any emergency room 24/7. Illegals should not get food stamps. Do not refill the SNAP cards.
THE DEMOCRATS are too stupid to shut up and be happy with the massive benefits they already get - such as free rent, free food stamps, free cell phones, and more.
As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road. As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, shouting:
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord;
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”
Thank you, Janice, and good morning! My psalm reading today is #101, and it begins with “I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to You, O LORD, I will make music.”
I led a women’s Bible study on God’s character back in 2010. Many of Louie’s messages and Chris’ songs complemented it beautifully. But mainly we studied what the word says, which made it the most moving experience I have ever been a part of.
Janice, what's your thoughts on the seven deadly sins? Specifically, Envy?
It ties into NVidia. Not the ostensibly benign image-rendering technology. Which is essential technology to the AI/Transhuman/Avatar future envisioned by these dark ones. Rather, that it is technology intentionally named after Invidia. Aka, the all-seeing eye. Envy.
Is it better for us to be manufacturing Envy, the essential technology being used to build the walls of our invisible prison of 24/7 Big Brother surveillance and control than for Taiwan to manufacture it?
The following Stack I wrote a few years ago delves into what NVidia technology really is for. The Stack isn't a straight line to NVidia, it passes through masks, the original "masks" of Roman times: winged phalluses, but it gets there, with detail you may or may not already be aware of.
We have already been worshipping and sacrificing babies and mutilating children on the altar of Baal/Molech for over 60 years. And the so-called ‘church’celebrates Halloween and Easter is based on Ishtar, the god/goddess of transexuality, and MayDay, the worship of the pedophile god, Pan.
That’s what happens when a country decides ‘diversity is strength’. It isn’t. It weakens a nation.
I don't think that where the chips are produced matters. Unless we can regulate it, to stop/slow the progression of 24/7 big brother. I'm really disappointed with Trump's embracing of AI. What little I use it, through accounting software, it seems very unintelligent. Yet they keep adding "new AI", and raising the price for features we don't want or need.
He's practical. If we don't control it, someone else will. It's a smart business decision. Does not mean he loves the nefarious uses of it.
Frankly, aside from chip making, you KNOW what it will be used for more than anything else??? Sure you do. Let's just say a lot of Onlyfans "models" will be out of business. Hope they put some $$ in savings...
Since I have no idea what you’re referring to, I am not qualified to comment. If it is referenced in Jeff’s stack today, I haven’t had a chance to read it.
NVidia. It was explicitly named after "Invidia." The Latin word/concept for Envy. A Deadly sin. NVidia = Envy. Is Envy a deadly sin or not? If it is then why are we celebrating, touting its manufacture in the US? For use/deployment around ALL of society. That Social Credit system, Digital Currency, "make you behave" thing that Larry Ellison boasts Big Tech will do. NVidia is THE essential component to build it.
Janice, I read your scripture shares every day, I know they are some of the most read and liked of all, daily on C&C. But you don't think you're qualified to comment on Envy? A Deadly Sin?
You don't need to be an AI/Big Tech expert to have an opinion on the subject. If Envy, Deadly Sins are being instituted and integrated into our governance the world over, a complete surveillance state, all-seeing eye of Envy is being built out, you're saying that's not a thing that the faith community, Christians are qualified to comment on?
"Oh well, if Satan's work is to be done it might as well be done in my own home so we can profit from it than in the homes of others where they profit from it."
Are you of the "render unto Caesar what is his" adherent believer? No opinion or comment about Deadly Sins? Quaint throwbacks of old that they are?
She actually doesn’t have to read Jeff’s post. She can leave a scripture knowing that God’s Word never returns void. Maybe don’t look at her share for any other reason than to be convicted and/or blessed. Or ignore it, exercise your free will, given by God, thank Him for it.
And sooner than later, choose you this day who you will serve. Quoting an old Rush song…”if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”.
Let her express her freedom here. Some of us enjoy it immensely, as it reminds us, God is the same yesterday, today & forever, and everything was made by Him & For Him.
That even in all the doom & gloom, Jesus provides peace. Let it be.
I was just hoping she had some insights. Or that others familiar with the subject would reply, inform. That obviously didn't happen. The other commenter here piled on for their own reason.
I'm just surprised nobody cares. Even the very religious Trump supporters don't care that we are being herded into a world of 24/7 Envy. Sodom and Gomorrah loom larger and larger on the horizon. Maybe they're all looking forward to Rapture?
I didn’t read yesterday’s post until today. I was simply too busy. You are not alone in your concerns for the growing evil in the world. My gut and my spiritual antennas are both pinging at the flurry of ‘peace’ deals, as well as the ‘love of money.’ I also recently watched a video compilation of Trump obfuscating around fairly direct personal faith questions in a way that demonstrates he is not saved. I am coming to the conclusion that Trump is a kind of Nebuchadnezzar…someone ungodly but powerful used by God to bring about God’s plan. I see much of what is happening preparing the world for the one world government and one world religion of end times prophecy.
And to answer your direct question, yes, envy is one of the deadly sins. Yes, a powerful and wealthy company mocking the world with a deadly sin as its name is a red flag, especially one with the technology that will likely be used to ‘mark’ the world when the time comes for that. The spiritual game board of life will one day be set for a one world government and a one world religion. The question is when. My gut says soon and that Trump is making a lot of moves that help that process. Now, is that a goal of TAW worth celebrating over or weeping over?
I posted under her verses in hopes she had some insights as to what they actually mean? What the teachings of Christianity, specifically the Seven Deadly Sins would say about deal-making and negotiating with the Sins?
Maybe you're right, she just plucks verses and gets lots of likes for them without engaging in discourse about the meaning of the Bible and biblical teachings. I was hoping....
LOL! Yeah, that'll happen just like you describe! Every single bad thing government does starts out just. like. that.
The Patriot Act was just to nab the bad Islamic extremist terrorist. Then, whoops, before you know it its used to spy on a presidential candidate, plandemic truth tellers (and seekers), parents testifying at school board against transinsantiy, mememakers and anyone else who challenges official narratives.
Nope, since NVidia is moving stateside now it will be monitored and regulated so none of that will happen. You've convinced me just by that assertion. Even though under Trump the Patriot Act is still being used to spy on and prosecute ordinary Americans, so much more monitored and regulated now that the "right" CiC is in office! Let's ignore the fact that there will be a different CiC soon enough.
I'm sure you think that all that monitoring and regulation of NVidia will never allow ENVY to be unleashed on the US in a bad way, they've got that Deadly Sin under control no matter whoever is in power. Smh.
Right? Think about the "LOGIC" of what the USG is doing. We are PAYING illegal invaders to STAY. IE, a criminal breaks into your home and then you pay him not to leave! Hello!!!
I have always hated halloween. It always seems so weird to invite demonic forces into your house and give them candy. Yeah I know these are little kids, and the parents don't give it much thought, but still this is a satanic weekend. At some point we need to understand that Halloween is a high holy holiday of the satanic religion. It's not just any old holiday. I always thought that Jehovah's witnesses and that ilk were crazy, but the more I looked into the holiday and the way that the elitist satanic people celebrate this day, the more I realized we've been duped. Hold your kids parties at home. Do not send them out onto the streets to walk up to strangers homes and beg for candy. It's so dangerous, and we all just cavalierly do it. Crazy crazy.
Many independent or non denominational churches sponsor harvest parties to allow parents and kids an alternative to halloween. Search one out in your locale, many are fun, educational, and fun for kids.
I have never liked Halloween either, even as a child. Going house to house begging for candy just felt wrong. My brother, otoh, could make his candy last from one H’ween to the next. 🤢
...Historically, the intense division between fundamental political factions is not just a symptom of a republic in trouble, but the very disease that always kills it. The fall occurs when the conflict shifts from “how should we govern?” to “who are we as a people?” and is fought with tools outside the established republican framework.
Intense polarization is the warning sign. Political disagreement shifts from policy-based to identity-based...
The crazy thing is what they are spending this EBT on. I just saw reports from whole foods that you can buy lobster tails and caviar with EBT cards. Also that the EBT cards are being sold by the recipients to wealthier people, it's all out of control. Very few of them are going to starve. Unfortunately it's the mothers with young children who have no men in the house who are going to be impacted the most. But you heard Chuck schumer, he said that this is an opportunity to use all of this suffering to get their way with providing 1.5 trillion dollars to illegals. So it's all part of the Democrat game. And the RINOs. Can't leave them out!
Not so sure they would leave Lori, especially women with children raised in the prison of Islam and sharia. How they came state side is a question, but by my limited knowledge, a Muslim woman would be better off on the street or better yet at the door of a Bible teaching church seeking help and security than returning to a home where they would probably be murdered in the name of Allah.
Muslim women are responsible for their plight since they are the mothers raising their children and instilling their values. No sympathy whatsoever for Muslim women..
Nobody will starve. Many households maintain some carryover balance on EBT cards from prior months (averaging $50-100 for ongoing recipients), providing a buffer for essentials. Beyond that, robust private and community alternatives activate quickly:Food pantries and banks: Networks like Feeding America operate over 200 food banks serving 46 million meals annually, with demand surging during crises—volunteer spikes and donations often follow news of delays, distributing non-perishables, fresh produce, and staples to the needy without eligibility hurdles.
Charitable organizations: Groups such as the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and local churches provide emergency food boxes, hot meals, and vouchers, prioritizing families with children or seniors; these often partner with states for rapid response.
School and community programs: Meals at schools (breakfast/lunch) continue via separate funding for most districts, covering kids during weekdays; summer feeding sites or after-school programs extend this.
State and local aid: Some states (e.g., those with rainy-day funds) issue IOUs, emergency grants, or partner with retailers for credit; others accelerate applications for utility/food vouchers.
Family, neighbors, and personal resilience: Low-income households frequently stock basics like rice, beans, and canned goods; informal sharing networks (kin, community groups) fill gaps, as seen in past disruptions.
Historically, even in prolonged shutdowns, acute hunger spikes are mitigated by these channels rather than government alone—private giving often exceeds federal aid in efficiency for short bursts. For the immobile vulnerable, caseworkers or hotlines (e.g., 211) connect them to doorstep delivery. A full halt underscores reform urgency: tighter focus on these groups via work-exempt categories, fraud-proofing,
I used SNAP when my husband left me with twin infants, and again when one of them was diagnosed with cancer at 15 months, and off and on while I was trying to get back on my feet, then more recently when I was "suspended" for not getting the covid shot. I know there is a lot of abuse but SNAP really helps to fill a huge need some times! I agree that it needs reform and you shouldn't be able to bu a lot of junk food and it is definitely abused.
Yes, filling the need when people are in a difficult situation is what it’s designed for! I think the vast majority of people in this country don’t have a problem with that. It’s the abuse, entitlement, lifestyle and cheating parts that are the issue. But there are so many entities actively benefiting from the misuse that it’s been tough to reform.
Sorry you had to go through this difficult time, but I don't think this is a place for govt. You should be able to ask your church for help to get you through this. I know a lot of people in my own church who would happily contribute to fill the gap for someone who was in trouble. Bring back Church Fundraisers.
My church has a weekly collection “$1 for one” ($1 by itself does little but when multiplied it becomes powerful) to give to anyone nominated by a person affiliated with the church. The needs are wide ranging. Our gifting is typically $12-15K per week, distributed between three families. This is in addition to the general offering. And we rent a venue to hold our services. No building to maintain frees a lot of $$$$ for helping.
Your example Sarah, is the Biblical definition of what assistance was intended to be for. Granted, that was the job of the church, and many still help widows and children in need, confidentially and lovingly.
Now, government welfare and homelessness has become a business, with many hands in the pot.
I agree that there are certainly people who are doing their best in difficult situations, and I would not begrudge them food, for sure! I used them the first time as a single parent trying to be present and also pay the bills. If anyone looks at, say, many of the service sector jobs that many people work, how do these people get by? Low wage jobs, even if they were full time, do not yield what many would consider the minimum.
There are many good reasons of course, but yes, that is the thought process, as well as "I am owed" and there is a deep resentment developed for the enablers, really just like how spoiled children often come to hate their parents. That was before our "education system" taught them actively to hate their parents, where now many children tragically hate very good parents.
I think it's a mixed bag. If you got rid of the 75-80% of the users (illegals) and only left the 20-25% Americans...given what I know from working for FL DOR child support back in the day, I'd say probably 10% of those actually DO need it for various reasons like life happening (i.e. loss of work), disabilities, and actually working but not being paid enough (*cough cough* look at Wal-mart, they are KNOWN to pay super low salaries with a large % of people being on SNAP and Wal-mart gets tax breaks/perks for doing this). Many big companies pay super low wages where, with prices these days, 2 working full-time people with kids cannot support their families. It's tough out there.
Gas prices have gone DOWN at least $1/gal in the last year and all prices are continuing to go UP. Normally, the excuses for raising prices is gas prices being high caused it, but as usual once they get people to pay for it they won't lower the prices when gas goes back down because, hey why should they? I mean if people paid those prices just fine when they spent more on gas then they'll definitely pay it when gas prices will go down...straight up greed on companies from both ends imo.
There's a lot more to it, plenty of issues with Americans not being able to find jobs due to foreign visas taking them (both entry level and skilled)...again company greed to pay less so they make more (not to mention all the fraud that's going on there PLUS out and out refusing to hire Americans). I've been hearing around 58% of current college grads cannot find a full-time job in ANYTHING, not even entry level. Then in tech people are being fired or forced to train their replacements and foreign visas are being hired. Shoot, we the people even PAY for fed loans for permanent housing for foreign visa workers to live here. So, they get our jobs and we pay taxes to back their housing loans. It's a rabbit hole I've been delving down lately (probably because hubby is on month #18 after being 'workforce reduced' from where he worked 20+ years and still nothing) and it's not pretty.
Yep, hubby was in the IT sector. It's worse than back in 2008 after the housing bubble burst. It's way worse than what we're being told and unless they stop this visa crap when we have so many out of work, it won't get any better anytime soon. The ONLY time I agree with hiring a visa worker is if we have unemployment below 2% (and not the fudged up #'s either, but the real ones). We have SO many that need jobs, want to work, and are good workers, but they aren't able to get any due to this stuff. (Plus ageism is real for those over 50).
They're getting started, but honestly, they need a full blown moratorium on it and send the ones here back to their country. (So much fraud where certain countries get into our companies, work their way to management positions and then only will hire fellow countrymen). Trump is used to 'just doing it', he needs to 'just do it' before so many Americans lose everything. It's REALLY bad out here.
also, most people who are using food stamps dont actually need them. They take it because its there, but most could do without it. If you go through the monthly budget of anyone who is on food stamps, and add up vapes ,smokes, booze, weed, mental health pills, online gaming, food delivery apps, energy drinks and designer coffees, almost to a tee you will find hundreds of dollars a month in "leaks". Hey, we all love indulgences and vices, but we need to do them with our own money after we pay the bills. Demanding the government help you with your rent or grocery bill when you have that much leakage in your finances is wrong. It leads to bigger government, higher taxation, more waste, and feeds the beast of government , not people who actually need legitimate help with food. THe people who actually do need the help can not get it properly because the system is gobbling up all the resources with abuse. Food stamps are vote buying wrapped in a marketing slogan.
Would love to see Trump flip the script on Dems and say "We will continue to fund SNAP after 11/1 but we have to cut off all foreign aid to Ukraine and Israel to afford it. Do you want to feed Americans or pay for foreign wars?"
Note: I am against all welfare, but this would make Dem and Neocon heads explode.
Note: SNAP costs taxpayers about $7Billion+ per month. Aid to those two countries last year was $88billion.
Tim, end all aid to foreign countries, unless it serves American interest in tangible returns. With one big exception with Genesis 12:1-3 in mind. Israel. The United States must be a friend of Israel, which includes LEGITIMATE assistance when needed. Believe God when He says that those who bless Israel He will bless and those who curse Israel He will curse. This has been proven true throughout history. So any good that we do for Israel will be multiplied back to us. Do you believe the word of God.
I have one question. Demonstrate to me from His Word that when God is talking about "Israel", He is talking about the 21st century political state we call Israel.
I do not believe the political entity that is the Israel of today is the Israel of the Bible. The people of Israel are God’s people, as is every living person, but the politics governing Israel is not of God.
It doesn’t matter. He says ISRAEL. Israel is the LAND and the PEOPLE.
We demanded Israel give up land for peace during the corrupt elder Bushie regime. Almost exactly the same number of people were displaced by a horrible hurricane in the US as were displaced in Israel, and Bushie’s mansion in Kennebunkport Maine was severely damaged as well.
And what did those who displaced the Israelis do?
The DESTROYED the businesses, rather than making something of them.
They destroy…..just like demonicRATS only know how to destroy rather than build, so do those animalistic/annihilistic people groups do.
So obvious that anyone with 2 working brain cells should be able to understand. But the HATE for that teeny-tiny nation seems to escape every lover of islam.
Well, I think my question is very reasonable and on any other issue, it would be reasonable to discuss what God actually says in His Word about that issue. But when it comes to this, you begin with "It doesn't matter." And then you end with an ad hominem characterization that I'm filled with "hate" and a lover of Islam. All you've done is demonstrate that you cannot support your contention from God's Word.
It actually does matter what God says! Just for starters, Jesus Himself in the Gospels and the Apostle Paul both talk extensively about the true Israel of God, but you don't want to look to see what the Word says.
It does matter. Net' n Yahoo is most definitely not the land or the people. War mongers NEED consistent wars and fools to fund them... Hegelian dialectic on full display stateside or in the combattants.
"And God said to Abram go from your country your kindred and your father's house to a land that I will show you. I will bless you, and I will bless those who bless you. And he who curses you I will curse. And through you all the families of the Earth shall be blessed."
That does not say that we have to support israel. I always read it as Israel needs to support the rest of the world. Abram was in israel. So God told him to go from your country.
Obviously everything is open to interpretation, but the real message of Genesis 12:1-3 is you are blessed to be a blessing.
There are different intepretations to that statement. For those who are dispensationalists, it means Israel will forever be God's chosen people.
If you are mainstream Christian/ Catholic who believes in covenant theology, the covenant with Abramam was replaced by a new convenant forged by Jesus for all who believe in him.
Disagree shibumi, dispensationalism is the belief in a moving target, divided periods in time and people, a changing promise to each. My God never changes His promises. And he warns against changing one jot or tittle of His word. His word is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
It does seem the Catholic Church, especially the Jesuits, wants to find itself as a replacement to the chosen people, ie: replacement theology.
If God does change His covenant, what kind of a promise is that for those, like me, that accept the grace and promise of life eternal through and with Jesus?
I expected the condescending replies Tom. So much hatred to the modern Jews that these people declare are not 'real' Jews. I think there's a word for that...
I agree, there should be no welfare for anyone. The illegals don’t like the work ethic. They’re just here to take advantage of American taxpayers. Enough.
Many illegals get many benefits here AND work for cash under the table. That way they live well here in the US and are able to send money home to help their families and native economies, too.
Why in exchange? Why not do what is right and not hold hostage this es things that should be done and fix those things that need it. But most of all, address America first issues and remove everything that does not do that.
NY AG James: We're taking action to stop this illegal policy and protect New Yorkers' privacy and access to food assistance.
This is what happens when the government gets involved in things it shouldn't be involved in, like food assistance. How do we provide you with both privacy AND food assistance? How do we know WHO the assistance goes to if we can't have your identifying information? Just give it to anyone and everyone? How does that work out?
No, because it hurts us all and the government can quietly find ways to ensnare more and more of us in a net until there aren't enough people out of it to fight back. In schools, students have lost their privacy as schools adopted Chromebooks. On planes we have to use real ID to fly now. It goes on and on. It's powerful and the tyrannical government of the future it enables will be a terrifying thing.
Exactly. Back to the churches. How many lefties have you seen inviting an illegal to dinner at their home? We pay too much in taxes to be taken advantage of this way.
Good point! Food assistance was never private in the first place! Once you apply, your information is public to those who make the decisions and administer the benefits from the program.
I wonder what food producers, shippers, warehouses, grocery stores are doing to prepare for less people buying food. And will those of us who don't use food stamps be at risk as we exit supermarkets. I'm a bit concerned for my backyard hens... I may have to sleep in the coop with my pew pew. 😏
I want all illegals to go back to the land of their ancestors and stay there. They do not fit in with America’s values. Freeloading seems to be their top principal.
When I was born in 1950, America had a consensus of values. Our society was based on a common ground that everyone understood. As Tucker Carlson pointed out, America at that time was 90% Christian white. And the black community was also mostly Christian. Now whites are down to 60% and the tens of millions of invaders do not share those values. The majority of the invaders are from Islamic war-torn countries from the Subcontinent. They are not the hard working Mexicans we were use to in the past who were also Catholic/Christian. On top of that, of the American whites, few of the younger generation are Christian after 16 years of Marxist State education (public education).
The America we were born into no longer exists and that's the bottom line. The 50s are not coming back. Like Israel of the OT, we have fallen into apostasy and we are reaping the whirlwind of God's judgement. I don't mean to sound dramatic but the reality of this cannot be glossed over with wishful thinking. I don't know how things will work out but America is going to break up and the antagonism between white America and the invaders will produce violence on a systemic scale. There is no common ground between us and them. The invaders look at us as occupiers to be defeated so they can take THEIR land. That's their attitude: this land "belongs" to them and they will take it. Just being white makes us a target.
And just in case anyone still thinks we can pull this out, consider the fact that the working age Americans, the ones who would reproduce and make a family, have been sterilized by the mRNA bio-weapon. Recent research is pointing to the fact that this sterilization is passed on to the off-spring and the next generation will have a very high sterilization rate. This is in addition to the fact that, even before 'covid', Americans were reproducing well below the replacement rate. The invaders were not given the bio-weapon shot and they have large families as it is their Islamic duty to have as many babies as possible in order to subjugate and populate the land they live in. This is their plan to conquer the world.
If my people who are called by my name would humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways ... then I will hear from heaven and heal their land ....
Yes. IF... we get that kind of revival. But that doesn't seem to happen till AFTER a society goes through judgement, OT Israel being a prime example. And even then, they often failed.
Jefferson warned us that the government that gives us everything is the government that will take it all away. Looks like that’s happening.
We used to be charitable people before the government forced us to pay for charity. But we could certainly reduce fraud and get rid of some excess obesity if we changed SNAP into a warehouse type of distribution where cheap, but (only) nutritious food would be available for the poor, but with the requirement that the able-bodied put in some hours at the warehouse: https://lizlasorte.substack.com/p/well-snap-yall?r=76q58
We are still a charitable people. We already have food banks in most every community, usually run by a church or local group. They are usually run by volunteers.
Companies like Walmart, Tractor Supply and Food Lion uses to donate " less than desirable" food to animal rescues/refuges, until they were SUED by some of the people because the people decided to eat the food (and got sick), rather than feed the livestock.
The people/churches and groups like the various Cajun Navy factions, saved the people in WNC/ETN last year. The Biden administration and the Gov of NC did little or nothing. There are people who jumped in in the beginning who are STILL helping, for donations... not being funded by any government group. These are the real American people, the most generous in the world.
I attend a tiny church. They have had a food pantry for many years. The volunteers were told by the previous preacher's wife that they could take what they want. One lady who "shopped" at the food bank for our church would choose items for her family. I don't think she ever reimbursed the church. One woman who helps now takes bakery items before they are offered to anyone else, even when there's very few items. I realize they are volunteers, as am I, but this annoys me.
Well, that's between them and God. We only help them once a month. Many of these families have been coming to our food pantry for many years, way before I got there.
Maybe they have a need for the food for their family… and at least they are volunteering their time to get it. Sometimes things are not what they seem. I was very poor growing up… and I helped neighbors and they feed me. I never said how it was at home but they knew and they found a way to help me without embarrassing me.
I know they do. It's just that these two women choose what they want before taking care of the others who come to our pantry. One took baked goods for her family of 2, when we only had enough for the larger families. I just think we're there to serve others first, and we can take the leftovers.
I understand. In these two cases, I know the women fairly well. They are both of the "me first" mindset. There are other people whom I have gotten to know better, and who at first seemed this way to me but don't any more.
Clearly some of these people are in dire straights and cannot work at the moment.
Many of them are profusely grateful.
The are scheduled only once a month. What they are able to get certainly won't cover more than a week if used wisely.
But I do think local-local-local is the answer. Wouldn't it be very good for each community to be able to rely on the community instead of the government?
And serves some purpose that can be done by a government t agency. They are flooded with corporate money to serve their diabolical profits like the American Cancer Society.
I once went through the financial statements for the ACS. One program provided free (donated) cosmetics and counseling ( by volunteers) to people dealing with hair loss, etc. I forget how many millions ( something in the neighborhood of $20 m if I recall correctly) were budgeted for this. Seriously? And check out their not for profit salaries.
I edited my comment as I meant to say the able bodied need to work FT. I don't give a crap they are freaking out. No work, no food. I am tired of paying for these lowlifes. It even says that in the Bible.
For those who are currently employed... where are these jobs? There are VERY limited numbers of jobs out there right now, and many of them have a dozen or more requirements for a $17 an hour job.
Go to indeed.com. Or simplyhired. Start looking up random terms in your city. See how many jobs are NOT there.
As someone who raised 4 children using every grocery discount available including old fashioned paper coupons to put decent food on the table when our income was low, who has a husband north of 60 who was laid off four different times in the course of our marriage (once when we had three children under age 6 and I was at the time a stay at home mom) yet who managed to get a job after the fourth layoff as a consultant at age 61 in a new state where we had absolutely no connections, who has myself changed careers several times and done everything from cashiering in a grocery store to insurance claim adjusting, and all that without ever reaching for government assistance, I can not overstate how infuriated I am at the fact that 1 in 8 citizens of the US are on food stamps.
I am seriously angry.
I genuinely hope I don't encounter in person any of the fools on social media who are demanding their free food (and threatening to steal it) because so help me, if I someone rants like that or tries to steal a shopping cart of food in front of me, I will not be able to restrain myself.
At one time, THRIFT was considered a positive virtue and was actually taught in high school home economics.
As wives and mothers, we understood our job was to make one income stretch to cover the needs of the family, no matter how small and if that meant beans 4 days a week, eggs 2 days and actual meat only on Sunday, so be it. Clothes from Goodwill? Okay. Phone? Maybe, if absolutely necessary. TV? Only if someone gave us one.
And if we needed to, we could also go to work to supplement that income, in a time when daycare was unheard of.
Not that we were better or more virtuous than current poor families, but the expectations are wildly different than they were in the middle of the previous century.
These things are all true. But the cost of housing, health care and college has risen way beyond wages in the last 50 years.
Charlie Kirk listened to young people and he understood their despair. Young people aren't buying houses until a median age 38, not because they have Iphones, but because even a modest (1100 Sq. Ft.) 1950s rancher in a low cost part of the country costs $300-350K now, a good 6 times what even a professional could expect to earn - not factoring in what they would have to pay in student loan repayment costs.
I use the 1950s rancher as a baseline because that's what the house I grew up in in suburban Kansas City is worth now. My husband is an attorney working as an attorney - and WE can't afford it. My dad could afford it while working at the post office. He bought it for $16,000 in 1966.
Of course, in areas of the country where most of the people live, costs are much higher.
In a time of high inflation and high costs, when you KNOW that thrift will get you NOWHERE, it's a rational response to take small pleasures where you can find them.
That's one excuse. certainly, but saying thrift will get you nowhere is nonsensical.
It's the ONLY thing that will get you ANYWHERE.
Sorry, but people have been dirt poor long before there was Gen Z and student debt and high housing costs, and long before Americans expected government to be a sugar daddy.
To think that young Americans are uniquely disadvantaged today is just ahistorical fantasy.
Prior to WW2, most people that were born dirt poor stayed dirt poor.
What we saw in the last half of the 20th century was an anomaly, I'm afraid.
A lot of the youth of today can afford things that look extravagant, to be sure. But consider that a mid range $400 cell phone is between 20% to 50% of the DIFFERENCE in between a single mortgage payment a young family faces today vs that of a family of 50 years ago, even adjusted for inflation.
It may not quite be accurate to say "thrift gets you nowhere". But it certainly won't get you into a house if you can save $100 a month and the cost of a house is increasing $1000 a month or more.
I have a theory of why the housing market has gotten ridiculous: I think it is because people are taking out zero-down mortgages for houses they can't afford. This makes houses look like they are "selling", even though the people who live in them have zero equity in the house, and will be paying a high mortgage payment for the next 30 years. You can't build an entire economy off of debt.
The cost has been inflated by corporations (think Blackrock) willing to outbid all other buyers, thus cornering the market and creating artificial scarcity.
“1 in 8 American citizens” I doubt most are citizens, though that’s how the narrative is pushed. Nobody will starve, they all know where to go for handouts.
I did not want to call them "Americans" because many of them are not. "Residents" seemed weird but is probably most accurate. And the sheer number itself is so infuriating.
Even ‘residents’ seems inappropriate. They are illegals/criminal aliens, grifting off hard-working citizens of this nation, welcomed, aided and abetted by the demonicRAT Party.
that's been us as well. Currently, hubby has been workforce reduced from his 20+ year job and is on month 18 of no one hiring him. We were a single income family with 3 kiddos doing just what you did. I've gotten a part-time job (it's not a great place to work and I was semi-suicidal over it last year), but no one else will hire me either. We've both gotten interviews, 2nd interviews, and in his case 3rd interviews. Just no jobs. We've just about blown through his entire severance pkg/savings. The whole time we haven't used unemployment (not because of pride, but because we know so many people who've been screwed over by FL unemployment, where they are told after getting a job that oopsie, FL made a mistake and paid too much per month (there's know way you could know this since they work all the #'s) and now you have to lump sum pay it back in 3 months or they'll take your house and we don't want to go through that) nor have we gotten any SNAP benefits, as we view it as a definite last resort and we aren't there yet....
yep, that's where my hubby is at. He applied to Home Depot for a job that was entry level and ONLY required a high school diploma. 2 hours after he submitted his app, they rejected him stating he did not meet their minimum requirements....Hello? He has a college degree.....?
Yep. They make all kinds of excuses not to hire people. Your husband is probably too old/ too white/ too straight/ too Christian/ too smart. It's insane.
But... at least he got a rejection. most of the time you don't even get that.
that's exactly right. They ghost you. He had one company he went to a 3rd interview with....never heard from them after that. You'd think after having that many you'd at least get a No....
Of course, I think how HR does hiring is stupid these days. No real need to make a hiring process take a month or 2....just keeps them secure in a job I suppose.
I will help you in your fury! We have ruined people by giving them food stamps, we have taken away their independence and their motivation to be good. We are encouraging, sloth, and corruption by being overly nice.
Our federal government is doing so much more than the Constitution ever provided. Food stamps should be a state or local issue along with a thousand other issues the states should be handling.
Agreed. The concept of "subsidiarity" - let those closest to the problem deal with it. It would be helpful if the government hadn't systematically gutted all the institutions that used to intervene on behalf of the disadvantaged (namely families, churches and communities). Instead society has been intentionally shaped to leave us all islands alone with no connections to the people around us.
Lots of Democrats have said that the government giving out money for food and other necessities is better because recipients don’t feel shame at being on the dole and accepting assistance. I think that is actually something positive about having the community help instead of the federal or state government. People can see when their neighbors are in need, and keep them accountable. It also builds ties between members of a community when they help each other. Anonymous government funds lack accountability and don’t do anything but damage the fabric of a community.
People tend to say that we should vote for the government to do the things that Jesus tells us to do. Jesus didn't tell us to "vote for representatives who will pass an omnibus spending bill that provides food for orphans and widows." He tells us to care for orphans and widows. We've been outsourcing what Jesus meant as a personal act of compassion to an impersonal, corrupt entity with zero accountability. What could go wrong?
My understanding (never having used EBT/SNAP myself) is that the program is funded and administered by the states, with some reimbursement from the feds.
Every political commentator who claims Trump is reckless, destroys norms, throws childish tantrums, can't control his impulses, is stupid, etc. shows their own foolishness and one-dimensional thinking. Or they are just bad-faith actors trying to undermine him.
Trump is a visionary unlike few men, and certainly unlike any president probably since George Washington. Trump intentionally creates chaos for his adversaries and shapes their world thus limiting their options. He does it in such a way that no matter how they respond it always advances his intentions in one way or another. Virtually every move he makes results in some sort of forward progress, even if it's not the specific progress everyone expects of demands.
He is a virtuoso at creating leverage for himself, which is why he has been so amazingly effective. It took the first term for him to sort out just how corrupt things really were, and how many supposedly on our side were just schemers and backstabbers. Once he got that sorted out there's been no stopping him. The progress the Right has made in the last year, not just in political policy but radically changing the culture, is unlike anything I've seen in my life.
Thank God Trump decided to use his skill in his remaining time to save the country rather than just add a few hundred billion more to his net wealth.
I wish he would work on eliminating the monopoly bigHARMA has on medicine in the US. A Frequency Medicine Marketer/Builder is still serving 2 years in prison for building & marketing products that eliminate the need for Medical Doctors and drugs with side-effects. Frequency Medicine works so well and is so cheap to use, it should be available to everyone, but the AMA/FDA won't allow it.
I think President Trump has a plan and he is starting with the big fires first and setting the stage for the next in order of biggest impact. Getting American vaccine lovers on board to even consider there a problem is important. I think RFK Jr is going a good job in that direction… but there is a lot more that needs to get done.
- Reduce the cost of every day drugs (e.g. insulin) via generics, price caps, etc. Stop the blatant pharma price gouging
- Increase skepticism regarding the "a pill for very problem" mentality, we've particularly seen this with vaccines and skepticism toward pharma and public health
- Purge the FDA and CDC of pharma sycophants who won't tell the truth and deliberately lie about safety and effectiveness
- Improve the food supply so people aren't literally eating themselves sick. Get chemicals out of food, remove junk food from SNAP, stop automatic approvals regarding GMOs and additives, etc.
These really are radical when you think about it as no other administration has done anything close to this. To some people it will never be enough (and I get that) but where we've come in a few short years is nothing short of incredible.
And when will Energy Density Frequency Medicine be allowed? It knocks Covid and every other virus out of the body in about 10 minutes. It's probably too revolutionary for most, but would stop the next plandemic before it gets started! Please watch the videos (25 minutes) about it in my reply to SD Scott. I sent info to RFK Jr. months ago, but got no reply. I don't know how to tell him.
Currently, a competitor of mine, marketed a more primitive Sympathetic Resonance Frequency Medicine device that replaced bigHARMA drugs and got sent to prison for his efforts. Being a lawyer, maybe you can help him get out!!!
I have to say this. Of course, there is always waste fraud and abuse. But some people really do need those food stamps. A friend of mine is a 64 year old type one diabetic (for 44 years ) who worked full time, even when ill, his whole life in food Service and later at a veterinary hospital, until he went on disability. None of his previous jobs ever offered any kind of healthcare, and he had many diabetic complications over the years, as well as advanced heart disease. His meager disability check has to cover rent, food, electricity, car expenses (he has an old beater with over 300,000 miles), etc. He gets a small amount of money for food stamps, and he really depends upon it. He has no family to support him. So, yours truly is going to give him some food money until this gets settled. I’m not denying there are some jerks who don’t need it and perhaps are buying caviar, but there are a lot of people who do need it. Of course he blames Trump, and I tried to explain to him that the Democrats are voting no, and sacrificing the food stamps in order to get the money for the illegal aliens. But he’s too upset to take in any facts. I’m sure there are also single mothers who are alone due to being widowed or divorced, or the kids having a deadbeat dad. That being said, I do support the Republicans holding out because we cannot fork out large amounts of money to illegal aliens. That will just give them more motivation to come here. But let’s not demonize all people who receive food stamps.
Solution: Community/Church family adoption. If every church/community adopts a family and commits to feeding them, no one will starve. The quality of food purchased will likely be higher, and community bonds will be strengthened. Families will be stronger, healthier, and support networks deepened.
It’s time to flip the script. Show the nation that SNAP isn’t a benefit. It is an isolating dependency.
Deport the illegals and give the remaining families a hand up as opposed to a handout.
Remove the radical left’s leverage. Leave them demoralized, neutralized, and ineffective. Easy peasy.
This is how we come together. This is how we defeat the radical left and win the soft civil war.
I also am aware of more than one family in need. They work but do not make enough money to feed their families, pay rent, buy food, pay for electric or fuel for heating their homes. They are trying to work and get ahead and off of "The System of Welfare". Everyone's circumstances are different, as are their trials and triumphs. There are people who use this system as intended for help until they can get on their feet again and stay off of "The System". I know those folks who have used the snap and other welfare benefits, go back to school and have changed their lives to be productive and stand on their own 2 feet. Some of them have become nurses, teachers, and such. While I agree "The System" supports abuse of itself and grifters, I can not begrudge those that truly need help. I normally agree with the substack posts but I can see both sides of this. I pray for those innocent children that are truly in need at this time.
I don't want to single you out as many on this site, some who probably think they are good Christians, lack empathy or speak in terms of "should" all of which indicate a hardened heart and judgment. Who knows what happened to a frail senior along the way, but they certainly should not be judged - is that a Christian trait?
I've got a college grad kid at home that is applying for jobs, and has not had any luck. There are plenty of stories of college kids that can't get any kind of jobs, even when applying for the most menial of jobs like motel cleaning.
What do people do if they can't find a job? A lot of us are old and worn out and can't stand up all day to be cashiers. That's most of the jobs that ARE out there. What are we supposed to do?
As most hiring entities know, an over-qualified applicant is likely to work only until the next better job comes along. Also, having connections—who you know—still opens many doors. Being a ‘known entity’ takes some of the risk out of hiring someone with little or no experience.
Grocery stores are hiring and now especially as we approach the holidays. Retail stores will need help. Its a start at least. Perhaps they will keep him on until he finds something in line with his/her degree. Go to Chamber of Commerce meetings as that is a great way to meet business leaders in the community. Networking using friends contacts. Wishing him/her the best in the job journey. There are quite a lot of telejobs out there on the internet for older folks who may like to shave a PT gig.
I had 3 jobs and some of the jobs pay squat and there are only so many hours in a day and I raised my kids alone doing it. I still think there are cases where charity is truly needed and not just a hand out.
I hope you helped those families find community help during this time especially if they don’t know how to find it themselves. Help is everywhere. If you don’t know where to start, United Way (211) list all the different programs in the community. Every state has these listings.
While admirable for its charity, this sort of thinking misses the big picture and leads to more dependance.
Being unable to feed yourself, aside from extreme examples such as intense mental incapacity, requires an extreme social stigma. People should be ashamed to admit that they are unable to earn enough money to buy food and support themselves, particularly if it comes from strangers laundered through the government with no end in sight. It's a powerful motivator to not let it happen.
While your friend's story is tragic, is is really unable to earn *any* money? He is capable of doing *nothing* productive? There are lots of jobs that don't require physical activity, and many can be done at home. Has he ever tried to do any? I'm his age and I work 40+ hours every week because I enjoy it but mainly to set aside money to help my kids buy homes. He can't work at all even to provide for himself?
And not to beat on your friend, but you brought him up. Does he not have *any* social support network? Does he not have adult children or other relatives that can help him out? How can he have "no family"? None? Not a single relative? Or did he drive away those who might help him with his attitude? Does he belong to a good church with people that love him and support him? My church has a free food bank that helps out *any* congregant in trouble. But the church does it as part of a plan to get people self-sufficient, not as a lifelong handout.
And of course he blames others (Trump in this case) for his poor situation rather than himself. Obviously he never saved any money despite decades where he did work. T1 diabetes is a terrible disease but it can be almost completely controlled through an ultra low carb diet. This was proven decades ago by Dr. Richard Bernstein. Did he take ownership of his condition and manage it so he wouldn't be a burden to others? Did he plan for his future knowing one day he might no longer be able to work?
I know it sounds harsh, and Christ in the Gospel talks about giving alms to the poor and helping widows and children. This is an example of our personal charity and kindness towards those in desperate need. By this command, you should be buying him food. But Paul also tells the layabouts in 2 Thess 3:10 "He who does not work, neither shall he eat". There is a difference between short term help to get someone back on their feet and a life of dependance on others.
The problem with programs like food stamps is that the government cannot make a moral distinction between the deserving and the undeserving. The program was *never* meant to feed people for years or decades but as a short term assistance to get people back on their feet. Now is is a way of life, that disincentivizes people from doing all the stuff I mention above.
Edit: Modified a few things that were overly harsh. Forgot to mention God bless you for helping him out. But please structure it in a way that helps him become self-sufficient, not just dependent on you rather than the government.
My uncle just passed away last week after living a life of utter dissolution. His siblings were successful doctors and teachers. He chose to abandon his faith, disobey his parents and proceed down the path of drug and alcohol abuse from his teen years. Later, he managed to bankrupt his parents (who foolishly enabled his manipulation) and destroy a multi-million dollar land inheritance that would have passed to him and his siblings. For his entire life he lived off of his children, parents, and the government. When he died his daughter had to pay for his cremation with her credit card because his life savings was literally nothing.
"While your friend's story is tragic, is is really unable to earn *any* money? He is capable of doing *nothing* productive? There are lots of jobs that don't require physical activity, and many can be done at home. "
You have got to be kidding me, there are jobs everywhere. The current unemployment rate is 4.3%.
Is the number manipulated and are many people working at jobs that they think are beneath them? Absolutely. Are many people working two part-time jobs rather than one solid full-time job? Yes. Is this ideal? Of course not.
But this idea that there are "no jobs" and people have but no choice to sit on the butts all day is absurd. Come on, you know better than this.
Edit: Adding to this, yes it is tough. Yes many jobs are being traitorously given to foreigners over Americans. Yes, many kids are graduating and finding people aren't lining up to hire them at the salary they expected. I get that.
But to claim there are no jobs is a willful denial of reality. People need to be doing something and networking until the good opportunity opens, even if it means seemingly taking a temporary step backwards. There are numerous opportunities to do that.
Plus the comment was about someone on food stamps who is only 64 and doesn't work. There is *something* they can do for money if only to give themselves some self-respect. It wasn't a comment on the state of the jobs market.
I'm going off the top of my head here, so a few details may be a little off:
The U1 Unemployment rate only counts people that are collecting unemployment benefits. People are usually only eligible for them for about 13 weeks after losing a job. That's probably your 4% number. There are other unemployment stats, with the broadest being U6, if I remember right, which includes discouraged workers and people employed part time that want to be employed full time. That's more like 25%.
I've seen a stat thrown around recently that only about 50% of adults aged 18-30 are working full time. Yes, a fair number of those people are in college. But not enough to make that 50% employed number look good.
Also, the job market varies a lot from place to place. If you live in an area where the cheapest houses are $800K, there might be a lot of jobs available that pay $15 an hour - but that's not anywhere enough to live on.
I live in a college town. The fast food places DON'T have "We're hiring" signs out. My daughter is trying. She just got a job at a temporary Halloween store yesterday. Woo hoo! She'll be working for a week!
Yeah I know the unemployment numbers are fudged, I said that right at the start of my comment. But they have a *relative* comparative value, and right now they are historically low. This is nothing like 2008, or 1982, and certainly not like the 1930's.
I know this will sound harsh, but why do you think your daughter (or anyone for that matter) is entitled to a job where they currently live? People routinely move to where the work is. Plus they also have to often move to where they can afford to live. It sucks but it's reality.
Yes, things are more difficult right now than for the Boomers forty years ago. Housing prices have skyrocketed and wages have stagnated. Both are driven by immigration, legal and illegal. Hopefully Trump is going to do something about it. But complaining doesn't really solve anything does it? It sucks but if there's no work where people live, or if it's too expensive, then they have to move. That's the way the world works. I commuted nearly 60 miles each way for ten years as I could not afford to live where I worked.
Now we live in a very nice part of SoCal, we have been blessed. But my kids know they won't be able to live here as they won't be able to afford it. I couldn't afford it until I was 40 and I lived in plenty of dumps moving up the ladder. But they also know they need to have marketable skills which Is why I'm paying right now for them both the get Engineering degrees. They are doing well. It's pricey and I'm driving a 20 year old car that I repair myself. My wife is driving a ten year old car. We are doing that because the money is better spent on them being able to demonstrate their value to an employer that our luxury.
I wish nothing but the best for your daughter, and unlike many of the brain-dead Boomers I also recognize she's got a tough road ahead of her. The country has been looted and she's getting stuck with the bill. It is awful what has been done to the Zoomers (my kids too). But that's why it's so important she recognize reality and make some really hard choices ahead. She absolutely can thrive but she needs to be smart, make herself as valuable an employee as possible, and go where the opportunity is. I'm rooting for her. You are obviously a smart guy and she's got your genes so that gives her a leg up.
Anyways, this is all a side discussion to my initial point. That point was that a 64 year old man isn't entitled to have someone pay for his food (beyond what he's already getting in social security) when he could be doing something productive and paying for it himself. There are opportunities to do that.
What skill set does your kids have that justify the jobs they are going after? Getting a basket weaving degree will get you a job at Starbucks. Getting a degree in Bio-Medical Engineering will get you a 100k+ job immediately.
The older one has a BFA in visual art. I know, that's not much better than underwater basketweaving. It was her choice though. I don't think many majors are doing that well after college these days except for nursing school, and with nursing school, one might be forced to basically play Russian roulette with the COVID shot or whatever else comes down the line.
My younger one was thinking of accounting, but that doesn't seem so practical as her math abilities are not so good. The older one's math abilities aren't so good either. I suspect PANS/PANDAS.
The thing is, AI is likely going to decimate almost all the entry level white collar jobs within a few years.
I think part of the problem is that colleges have created programs that have no job opportunities. A lot of them should be at a trade school where they can focus on the skill set so they have a skill that is viable.
Hi, Kathy, I commented days ago about a single mother I know with a deadbeat dad and who is doing an exemplary job with her 13 year old son. I was saddened by some of the replies that were just plain judgmental. One commenter asked why were people so helpless, and recommended she keep backyard chickens. Well, that’s not possible when you live in a fourth floor apartment in the city of Atlanta.
Yes help Americans only that need it period. You should remind your friend that it is a Republican supporter who is giving him money to get through but yet he is mad at Trump. Where is this guys Dem friends to step up and help him? Let me guess, nowhere.
yes, that was all planned strategy. Not even hiding it. There is a show on TLC where a woman named Jasmine came here from Panama via marriage to Gino, got pregnant by another man and is now living with the baby daddy. She is still married to Gino. Gino reported her to Immigration for fraud. That was over 6 months ago and now she had the kid and the kid is a US citizen so what are the chances to deport her and that illegitimate kid? She does not work, gets her nails done, plastic surgery and most likely getting govt help. It makes me sick that I am working my ass off for someone like her and her illegitimate offspring.
It is good to be reminded of these situations. Thank you.
It is ironic that your friend will focus his anger at Trump and not at the people who defraud the system or exploit the suffering (as the Democrats are clearly intent on doing) and make it more difficult for people like him to receive benefits. A frustrating situation all around.
So folks on food stamps can't afford food, but they can afford computers to read the government's website informing them that their SNAP benefits are about to be curtailed?
A) lots of people of capable of multiple things, I wonder for Trump’s weekday rallies how people stand in line all day for them.
B) how do you know they’re unemployed? If they’re young their careers are not tied to 9-5, M-F, cubicle-exclusive. Many work multiple part-time jobs, probably places you patronize like wal-mart, target, Home Depot, Starbucks, Cracker Barrel. Those are all jobs typically part-time with varying hours.
Well, there are some people who truly do need help. But, I think that help should be more localized: the church or neighbors. I knew a lady who suffered from chronic pain who was hooked on opioids by her doctor years ago. Now she can barely think straight. She doesn't know how to use a computer. She can barely use her phone, which is an old flip phone. She is the kind of person who needs help.
We believe in feeding the hungry if they are DISABLED, silly.
We are also willing to feed people when they have fallen on hard times and are TRYING to get out of that ditch.
We ARE unwilling to feed those who REFUSE TO WORK and those who came in to live off the backs of working people, and that is Scriptural too.
Thessalonians 3:
“………..We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”
We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer”
I’m guessing you have an EBT card and are a card-carrying socialist.
The World Order sets up countless groups to promote any type of idea, and then sets up other groups to fanatically oppose them, but the masters have no dedication to anything except slavery." The World Order Eustace Mullins 1992
Really, food stamps should just provide the basics...milk, beans, rice, and some fruit/veggies. That's all they need until they can get back on their feet. Would also encourage people TO get back on their feet really fast if that's all they could get.
Want to see several hundred congressman suddenly SNAP into synchronistic fervor?....as part of the stipulations threaten to shut down the Pfizer gravy train and then set your metronomes. "Ladies and gentlemen....I believe we have a deal."
Here are some scary numbers; 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children, 18% are elderly, 11% are disabled. 70% of the people on SNAP do have jobs. I’ve heard the number of illegal aliens collecting SNAP is approximately 50% of the people on it. This is illegal in itself. In Massachusetts there are a little over 7 million residents and 1 million people are on SNAP!!!!! That’s 1 out of 7 people collecting SNAP formally know as food stamps. Nationwide 1.3 people out of 10 are getting SNAP benefits. Imagine that. So 21 million illegal aliens are getting benefits they should not be receiving. You know in New York where a Marxist Muslim Communist is about to be elected mayor of New York City 50% of the votes he receives will be from people that were not born in America, they migrated here from other countries, many are not legal citizens though they vote regardless.
So you can see why the democrats, with a 20% approval rating are allowing this mayhem to hit this country again. And you can plainly see their fight to keep the illegals in country is there way to keep their power. Let the riots, murders, looting and the cities burn, as long as Chuck-U-Schumer keeps his job. I’m sure Chuck and all the democrat politicians will be having a nice big juicy filet mignon smothered in lobsta’s over the weekend as the downtrodden in America begin their fight for food, after all the congress and the rest of the scum in Washington DC get their checks. J.Goodrich
Regarding "40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children": Considering that those children who are of school age (pre-school through high school) are being fed free breakfast and lunch at school as well as during the summer and holiday breaks through additional provisions, that 40% number means that the adults collecting ebt money on behalf of their children can spend it on free "food" that doesn't necessarily end up feeding their children. (Even during the covid shut downs of schools, free food was very accessible in my area, and I am sure other areas at well. Schools were not open for learning, but they were open for free food.)
Exactly. I believe they get 350 dollars per month for each member of the family on SNAP! So if you have a couple with 4 kids it’s 2100 dollars per month. You can see the motivation for fraud!! At least 1/2 of these people are fraudulently receiving this money.
When a leech bites it includes an anesthetic that numbs the area, making it difficult to feel the bite. The saliva also contains an anticoagulant to prevent the hosts blood from clotting, allowing the leech to feed more efficiently.
The other day in the New York Post there was a story about a Columbian national illegal alien Lina Maria Orovio-Hernandez. She has been living in Massachusetts for more than 20 years.
She has received over 400,000 dollars in stolen federal benefits during this time including Section 8 rental assistance. The charges also include voter fraud, specifically the 2024 presidential election, and obtaining fraudulent ID’s including a Mass. real ID.
She faces charges such as false representation of a social security number, making a false statement on a passport application, aggravated identity theft, receiving stolen federal moneys, fraudulent voter registration, and fraudulent voting.
These benefits were put in place for real American citizens in their time of need. Hernandez had no right to these benefits they are for the poor, the sick, single parents and struggling “American” families.
This lady has been receiving social security disability. She is seen, or caught, on camera at an atm withdrawing our money, walking around with an “I Voted” sticker on her designer shirt, what hubris. Watching her agility on camera shows she is perfectly capable of working, she has no disability, it’s all a big fraud. She actually looked healthier and in better physical shape than I am. I’m starting to realize these illegals live a much better life than I do. All I want is to be treated like an illegal alien . No one is handing me thousands of dollars in monthly checks and benefits.
When my mother’s father came here from Italy, legally, through Ellis Island, he had 5 dollars in his pocket. He worked his ass off his whole life, ending up owning 60 apartments in South Boston. I was raised with the mindset if you want something and you work hard, you can achieve your goals. How many millions of Lina Hernandez’s has Biden and the democrats let in? Where’s the media on this story? MSNBC, CNN, News Max, Fox and locally, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS where are they? I thought there was zero voter fraud, I thought we had the most secure voting system in the entire world, another massive lie. If we had a real media, this story would be headline news, and we would find the 2020 presidential election WAS stolen. This is the very reason why Fox News won’t run this story. For some reason they, along with all the MSM, sensor the 2020 stolen election.
If I took a gun and held people up, and stole say 100,000 dollars from a person, or many people, what’s the difference from fraudulently stealing 400,000 dollars from social security. That’s our money, Lina Hernandez stole from us and our families. She’s a common crook. These illegals in my town are still sitting around the pool at the Holliday Inne, every day getting their meals delivered, no charge. These perfectly able bodied people receive free housing, free food, free cable tv, free transportation, free phones, free WiFi, free medical, free schooling for their kids, still to this day!
This story of Lina Hernandez being hidden by the media is like the anesthetic the leech uses to hide the blood they suck from our bodies.
What happens in the next 2 to 3 years, Trump being successful and fix this by throwing all of these leeches out, or God forbid a democrat gets into the White House and tens of millions of illegals continue to pour into our country, and allowed to become citizens. This will determine if our safety net systems survive or completely collapse. If collapse occurs the Cloward-Piven strategy will be in its final stage. Communism will certainly take over and these elites will become our masters. People that opposed them will become imprisoned and slaves. BTW, do you know which university Cloward and Piven were professors at??? You guessed it, Columbia university in the 1960’s, makes total sense doesn’t it…
The leech, that horrible ugly creature. They attach themselves to a passerby and then feed on the hosts blood. Their whole purpose in life is to take more and more so they can produce more and more of their own. The leech teaches us that sin takes all it can from human life and gives absolutely nothing in return. J.Goodrich
70% are working? Originally, food stamps were a way to support small farmers by giving people money to buy food, who would otherwise go hungry. Farmers could then keep their farms, and hungry Americans were fed.
Now it is clear that food stamps are a way to support big corporations who don't pay their employees a living wage.
I'm sure we've all heard the stories about WalMart and McDonald's, for instance, showing their employees how to apply for food stamps and Medicaid. That is American taxpayers subsidizing multi-billion dollar corporations.
I agree that illegal aliens should not be given food stamps, but to have Americans working, but unable to afford to pay for basic necessities, shows that there is something very wrong with the system.
Wonder how much control would fall back to us, the people if we did not pay income taxes next year. What a gravy train would come to a halt and they can't put us all in jail.
In 2019, I suffered a catastrophic brain injury after being kicked in the head by a horse. Long story short, this resulted in emergency surgery, hospitalization and weeks in a rehab hospital where I had to learn to walk again and many other basic necessities. I am single and self-employed. My insurance covered most of the critical care expenses and I paid off the rest with a payment plan.
After I got out of the rehab facility, I called to see if there was ANY kind of short-term disability assistance available until I was able to work again. After explaining my circumstances I was told I "didn't qualify." The government employee told me I would qualify if I had minor children and had less than $2,000 total to my name. Thanks to God, I not only survived (which the neurosurgeon admitted was a miracle), but made a full recovery. I would have lost everything had not friends and people in the local horse industry stepped in and paid my mortgage and basic expenses for 8 months until I was capable of working full time. There's definitely something horribly wrong with "the system" if short-term help isn't available to people in serious need, while generations have come to rely on full-time government benefits.
"Made too much money" or have ANY savings above piddly squat. The bar for getting on food stamps is actually pretty high. Some would say that it disincentivizes work because working at all means you don't qualify. If all you can get is a minimum wage job, sometimes you're better off not working but trying to collect as much aid as you can.
Sometimes I work at a rehab facility. No one who does not have really good insurance gets admitted. If they don't have family or a support network when they get out, they are utterly screwed. Food stamps are great but don't help much when you can't use your hands or turn on a stove.
I think most states don’t offer temporary disability benefits for people who suffer non-work-related injuries. I tried looking up which ones do, and what they offer but didn’t get illuminating search results.
Only five states require employers to provide short-term disability insurance to workers.
When I worked as a cashier in a convenience store, I saw people buying ice cream and cookies and chips and soft drinks with food stamps all the time. That’s not what it’s for. Nor is it for luxury items like lobster.
John Stossel (I think) did an investigative report on the homeless/panhandlers/food stamps several years ago. The interview that sticks out in my mind was with a "surfer dude". They went to a grocery store so the "dude" could pick up groceries. He was grabbing steaks and lobster and other high end items. When Stossel pointed out that his food stamps were paid for by hard working American taxpayers, the "dude" said, "Thanks, taxpayers!" When asked why he didn't have a job, he said that he didn't like working and that he just wanted to surf.
In fairness, a large portion of those on welfare are, for all practical purposes, unemployable. Many of them simply don’t want to work. Even of those who do, they often lack even the most rudimentary skills. Even to show up at a work site, on time and sober, is a big ask. Who’s going to look after the chilluns while they at work? Even if by some miracle one of these people shows up at a job site, the harsh truth is that more often than not, they are a net negative and the employer would actually be better off without such “help”.
That would change fairly quickly if they got no benefits. Once the got hungry and cold they would either figure out how to work & show up on time (in reverse order), or start stealing stuff (@ which point they can be caught, charged, prosecuted, and incarcerated, at which point the get fed—problem solved.). Rinse and repeat. At some point in the cycle they will get the idea or not.
This concept goes all the way back to the New Testament:
2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
or if you prefer the NIV
2 Thessalonians 3:10 NIV
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”
We had a mentally challenged man in our congregation when we were growing up who fit all the criteria for government assistance and was actually the kind of person for whom these programs were meant to help. Kenny didn't just sit at home and collect his benefits. He went out and worked at whatever kind of job he could create. He washed windows, pressure washed houses, and did other menial jobs. He did this well into his 60s, as I recall. He figured out the bus schedule to get around, or various church members would give him a lift. He didn't have to work, but he wanted to earn his own money and he did it in a very entrepreneurial way. He puts most of the "Snappers" to shame.
As both a food pantry volunteer and a former building contractor, I agree 100% with your comments. This is in large part the direct (perhaps intended) result of American government school education.
Deport the illegals (voluntarily or involuntarily) and give the remaining families a hand up as opposed to a handout.
Remove the radical left’s leverage. Leave them demoralized, neutralized, and ineffective. Easy peasy.
Yes. Churches could be given the perfect opportunity to practice what they preach and take on the responsibility themselves (and NOT outsource it to the government). I really don't want to hear any sermons/homilies condemning government cruelty without hearing about how we, the Body of Christ, are called to care for the poor.
We saw the community come together during Hurricane Helene. Grassroots efforts like these show we don't need the government as big as it has gotten.
At a local level, we know who in our family is able-bodied but lazy and grifting off the taxpayer. We also know who is temporarily down on their luck, or is frail and elderly, who is truly disabled and truly needs food assistance. And not just within our families but among our friends, fellow parishioners, neighbors, co-workers, etc. We must help the latter as well as we are able.
Exactly. Back in the day, before poverty was at its highest levels, communities came together and helped the helpless. That was the best way. Not government intervention. We need to go back to what works.
My only experience with churches...they all have community outreaches and out of the country missions, but they never actually do much to help their members. So many people I know that have fallen on hard times and all the church did was pray for them while they lost their houses or jobs and couldn't feed their families. Praying is great! But we should be helping, too. If the church body is healthy then we can more easily spread the gospel to others. One man had cancer and couldn't pay his hospital bills, house payment, or feed his family because he couldn't work while undergoing treatment. They lost EVERYTHING. The church knew this was going on and didn't attempt to provide help or even really tell ANYONE in the church until after that member left and lost everything and even then they only told some people. Some people probably would've been willing to help in some way if they knew (I'm thinking similar to Jeff's multipliers). They prayed of course, which is great as God can do great things, but he usually does them THROUGH his people and if his people do nothing....this is something I've always felt was off. So much outreach OUTSIDE the church that they forget about the INSIDE of church. They could help members find jobs, help members by feeding them, help them to not lose everything, but nope. It saddens me. I think often about that man I never met that I heard about after he had lost everything while battling cancer and had left the church. I wish I had known before that happened...I don't know what all I could've done since it was after hubby lost his job and we had basically -50% of what we need to survive, but I darn well know I would've tried SOMEthing in addition to praying. This blinde spot within churches IMO.
That is a shame. I guess it depends on the church. In my experience, the churches I’ve been associated with always help the families and their congregations. It’s a pity when churches don’t rally around their communities.
My 6th grade teacher gave us insouciance as a spelling and vocabulary word. I still remember how to use it and spell it. I wonder how many 6th graders in public school now are learning words like that? Another one I remember is vichyssoise.

People love to say we’re a republic, but the truth is that we’re a “constitutional republic” — meaning our elected officials cast votes on our behalf.
Unfortunately, time and time again, these politicians act more like political celebrities than moving our country in the right way.
Are we not entertained?: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/are-you-not-entertained

Accepting foreign bribes = treason. DOGE Congress.
Absolutely especially since we all want to see Fauci in Hell performing masking classes to prevent smoke inhalation.
In a certain way, AF already is in Hell performing masking class.
Except he is currently there counting his millions.
No, it is NOT the ‘sole province of God’. How silly.
Whether a person goes to Heaven and HELL is the sole province of God.
But in this EARTH (which makes me wonder what planet you are on) HE EXPECTS, nay, HE DEMANDS mankind to dispense Justice to evildoers.

AI says Dr. John Mascola, Dr. Barney Graham, and Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, as NIH researchers but Moderna took the NIH to court over this because they say their own scientists conceived the genetic sequence. Would like more information if anyone has it.
In a certain way? How exactly?
Er, he is not the science. He is the arrogance.

But we can take great solace in knowing that Pam Bondi has this file on her desk. Right now.
LOL
😂
Yeah. Uh-huh. Fer sure.
So do we get to boot katanji back to Memphis, or wherever the hell that thing originated?
She will have to be impeached .
By both Houses of Congress.
First, in the House of Representatives, then by the Senate. That’s why we need an overwhelming majority in both Houses.
Sadly, she was confirmed by the Senate, so I'm not convinced the nomination can be voided.
I agree, but would only add the caveat: "anything President Autopen signed without corresponding WRITTEN authorization demonstrating clearly that the actual President Biden authorized the signing of said document WHILE demonstrating that he understood the contents of what was being signed" should be considered null and void.
Exactly! As you must know, there is serious effort to nullify all autopen fraud.
Accountability cometh.
Thank you for your comment. I found myself explaining many times to patients that antibiotics will not help with a viral infection.
Agree 💯🙏🏻🇺🇸
It is about to hit the fan. Watching the Tulsi give that press briefing, blew me away. Heads should roll - Biden is why we have the 25th amendment.
And do recall David Dorn was born today in 1942.
He would have been 83 today.
I wrote this to honor him

We live in a society where people use a $1400 phone to check their EBT balance.
While wearing $150 designer tennis shoes and sporting several thousands of $’s in beautiful body art. The juxtaposition is absolutely ridiculous.
And wearing batwing eyelashes, and burkas.
Don't forget the claw like nail extensions. Those are my favorite. For the lift of me, I don't know how the can do everyday tasks.
They don't.
like wiping their .... mouths??? 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks - I was thinking the same!!!
Puzzles me as well
They probably also have expensive bidets, dahling (spellcheck corrected to ‘dangling’…..that would work too, but change the meaning
enti-ah-lee 😳 😬). (Trying to speak Southun eleete-ese on heah eludes me).
They can't.
With custom nail and hair dos
I don’t have a $1400 phone.
(We pay all our own bills with money earned by working)
My favorite is when the EBT crowd has a WAY nicer car than I do.
Once again... "white, straight, Christian and work for a living."
In Jacksonville, even their poor starving children drive nice vehicles. Of course that’s assuming they’ve not ‘borrowed’ it for joy riding.
We as individuals, not the government
and you have direct knowledge of these generations of people and their actions? here in texas the benefits for a single person went down to 163$ month. not a lot of room for excess.
I do not think anyone it's denying that there are needy people. But there are also many that take advantage of the system.
This is more than I spend for food.
He is not judging what the government does with our money. He will judge us, individually, for what we do with our money, talent and time.
I have an old Ma Bell trim line. No cell at all.
Soon you'll need a smart phone to get groceries and access to any govt service once you deploy the TrueID app and comply with all the requirements (vax status, etc).
How do you afford the bill? I had to let mine go. The bill was almost $120 a month.
Patriot Mobile
I was responding to someone else. Ellen Mayer. She said she had a REAL phone and I can't afford one anymore, because it costs too much. I still have a desk phone, but it's a new fangled phone. 😉😂
$43.84 monthly for phone and internet (net is $14.99 for life).
You are one of the few honest deserving ones then
same.
sounds like the SNAP program is a must for DOGE - surprised Trump hasn't put them on it during the shutdown
and we need to look at what SNAP subsidizes in poor health outcomes: Soda and all those sweet treats and ultra-processed products should not all into the category of "Nutrition"!
Except you can't buy detergent to wash your clothes. Makes total sense...not.
Why not ditch SNAP and start new emergency food stamps called PANS. Apply today with your proof of poverty and US Citizenship.
If only.
Free phones used to be given out to recipients of SNAP benefits. They were called Obama phones. I knew a guy who had 5!!!! of them. I’m not sure if this is still the case.
Here at this house we only ever buy used Android phones costing anywhere from $110 to $300. No $1,400 phones here!
I bought my phone for $80.
Same. We keep it under $200. The camera's "crappy" compared to Apple. But still a bazillion times better than those old film-cameras.
Yup.
I don’t like broad brush either. But read your reply. You are doing the same thing based on what you feel is likely true - not on anything factual.
This is an interesting take on the poor/smartphone conversation:
https://www.gottabemobile.com/smartphones-poverty-welfare-truth/
The purpose of all devices is to gather data for king AI.
They ain't tryin' to get off of welfare.
Some are, some aren't. The question is, how many in each group?
Another question is, are the ones that aren't trying discouraged or lazy?
The glass you're seeing isn't always half full.
You are free to give personal charity to the illegal freeloaders if you want. Why not invite a family to dinner at your home?
The math doesn't work out.
we still use a tracfone account, LOL
I went from an X to a 12 a year ago and got it as a refurbished for about $350. I haven’t bought a “new” phone in at least ten years when they all started costing over a grand and the phone company stopped comping a new one with a plan extension. And the upgrade requires the old one to actually stop working otherwise what’s the point?
When people upgrade their fairly recent phones for a newer one, the old ones are turned in, checked out, fixed where necessary, and resold by another company for a much lower amount. An AT&T person told me that.
Yeah it’s honestly just dumb to buy a new one imo. 🤷♀️
but its so gratifying to the self righteous to make broad brush statements and utterly ignore Jesus' exhortations to feed the poor and hungry.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Here’s a tip if you need a new phone. backmarket.com For a used phone. And they’ll take your old device for a reasonable price. I went to them because I didn’t want to go any newer on an iPhone then the 11, for 5G reasons. They have an excellent guarantee and they have all types of used devices.
I still have a 10 for the same exact reason. and t-mobile keeps offering me a free upgrade and other incentives to go 5G. no thanks.
Many of these used phones were stolen.
Well, thank goodness then that I found a reputable store, selling recycled electronics.
Keep the government closed!
Do not give the illegals more free medical, they already can get all the free healthcare they need at any emergency room 24/7. Illegals should not get food stamps. Do not refill the SNAP cards.
THE DEMOCRATS are too stupid to shut up and be happy with the massive benefits they already get - such as free rent, free food stamps, free cell phones, and more.
remedy: DOGE
🎯
There are a lot of what they called Obamaphones around.
Freaking insane
provided by the taxpayer too.
The spoiled brats own one of those horrific things to use, yeah.
Can I quote you if FB?
✝️✝️✝️
As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road. As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, shouting:
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord;

Janice, one of my favorite scriptures! Reminds me of another Louie Giglio’s messages; https://search.yahoo.com/search?p=louie+giglio+singing+of+the+whales+video&fr=iphone&.tsrc=apple
I actually saw that when he was in Tulsa with Chris Tomlin years ago. 💖
Chris Tomlin is doing a Christmas concert at our church in December. I’m looking forward to it.
I led a women’s Bible study on God’s character back in 2010. Many of Louie’s messages and Chris’ songs complemented it beautifully. But mainly we studied what the word says, which made it the most moving experience I have ever been a part of.
Chills❤️
Amazing and Very humbling.
The Stack isn't a straight line to NVidia, it passes through masks, the original "masks" of Roman times: winged phalluses, but it gets there, with detail you may or may not already be aware of.
https://freedomfox.substack.com/p/curiouser-and-curiouser
Is a very profitable deadly sin best imported? Or manufactured in the US?
That is concerning.
I like that my church has a fall festival, not a Halloween party. And our Easter services (Good Friday especially) are awesome.
Hope they put some $$ in savings...
really? welcome to wrong again
Why, because you say so?
False belief #???
I'm not following...I need logic...
Now, is that a goal of TAW worth celebrating over or weeping over?
she has zero demonstrated qualifications despite the "likes"
The blind lead the blind?
And what is it they say about opinions??
It is not necessary to be cruel.
Most definitely am no Scipture expert. However know enough to recognize
sophomoric efforts like cut and paste without even the attempt at unraveling the onion skin.
In any case it is a direct subversion of the comment section.
why read? when you can cut and paste verses
You must be kidding? Thoughts??
this is a comment section for JC's article
Janice has no "thoughts" she plucks verses
NVidia has moved stateside, due to the Commander in Chief
Where it can be monitored and regulated.
Smh.
As always, Accurate Assessment is crucial.
It may well come to pass that the CiC's tenure continues
or successors in his stead.
more words beyond, subverting the comment section as usual
99 peeps think so
Many falsely believe it possible to bypass knowledge on the way to wisdom
Scripture magnifies WISDOM on the way to find knowledge.
You just want to do it backwards. Which means you value knowledge, but you obviously have very little, if any, wisdom.
Knowledge is human
Wisdom is a Divine gift.
I have heard and seen more Wisdom from those who plow the earth and produce food than from educated fools who produce nothing.
“Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10
Definitely incorrect. When adequate knowledge is accumulated some converts to Wisdom. How that occurs remains a mystery. Wisdom may be divine.
Interesting last sentence. My Amish master organic gardener friend of almost 30 years (without prompting) suggested the exact same order.
However there is a governor... You do know its name, however may not have considered it. Way north of the aforementioned...
hot stinky mouth air = nothing...
America spends $7.8B monthly on SNAP.
If ILLEGALS were removed from SNAP the cost would reduce 70%.
If all benefits were CUT OFF they would LEAVE.
45% of ALL AFGHANI’s living in America receive FREE FOOD from YOU.
Is this your American dream?

Somalis are the second down on the list of grifters.
was interesting to see that list by %
Ilhan Omar's people.
And i believe the Hatians were next. Of course they supplemented their diets with dogs and cats. :-) lol
Yup, choke the benefits and we will see self deportation right quick.
Right? Think about the "LOGIC" of what the USG is doing. We are PAYING illegal invaders to STAY. IE, a criminal breaks into your home and then you pay him not to leave! Hello!!!
This is all signs of a collapsing society.
Perfect weekend for it.
Beth,
Many independent or non denominational churches sponsor harvest parties to allow parents and kids an alternative to halloween. Search one out in your locale, many are fun, educational, and fun for kids.
I have never liked Halloween either, even as a child. Going house to house begging for candy just felt wrong. My brother, otoh, could make his candy last from one H’ween to the next. 🤢
That's how I always felt, even when very young. It just felt like begging. I never liked Halloween.
Paying them to keep Demonrats in power!
Why Republics Will Collapse
Posted Oct 28, 2025 By Martin Armstrong
...Historically, the intense division between fundamental political factions is not just a symptom of a republic in trouble, but the very disease that always kills it. The fall occurs when the conflict shifts from “how should we govern?” to “who are we as a people?” and is fought with tools outside the established republican framework.
Intense polarization is the warning sign. Political disagreement shifts from policy-based to identity-based...

Big thumbs up for Martin Armstrong. Really smart guy.
Part and parcel of the well coordinated attack by the WEF against western society.
But first we'll see riots.
Seriously, go shopping today. Stay home this weekend.
They are rioting already. Over everything all the time. Nothing new.
If you want something slightly different to do tomorrow night, there is this film, playing for one night only:
https://www.fathomentertainment.com/releases/triumph-over-evil/
Content warning: "Catholic."
Yeah, people don't like starving too much.
I volunteer to help them deport...
Uber them home 😂
That might work, but expensive?
me too.
Pre-Engineered Civil War: 42 Million Americans Will Lose Food Stamps
https://www.2ndsmartestguyintheworld.com/p/pre-engineered-civil-war-42-million
Great recap of how many immigrants are using SNAP benefits…shocking.
A full halt underscores reform urgency: tighter focus on these groups via work-exempt categories, fraud-proofing,
The entire program could easily be cut 75 percent. Real DOGE cuts are needed.
Why don't these households work?
No building to maintain frees a lot of $$$$ for helping.
agreed. And I hope your precious one is doing well and is healthy. They are gifts from God. All the best to you and your family.
Your example Sarah, is the Biblical definition of what assistance was intended to be for. Granted, that was the job of the church, and many still help widows and children in need, confidentially and lovingly.
Now, government welfare and homelessness has become a business, with many hands in the pot.
Prayers for you and the kids, don't give up.
Hope things are better now.
Why work when you can sit home and get everything you need for free?
There are many good reasons of course, but yes, that is the thought process, as well as "I am owed" and there is a deep resentment developed for the enablers, really just like how spoiled children often come to hate their parents. That was before our "education system" taught them actively to hate their parents, where now many children tragically hate very good parents.
There are many that believe there is inherent psychological value in work of any kind, even the lowliest manual labor. Work is good for many people.
Many are paid not to. At one point welfare was reformed and many went to work.
They're too busy plotting to overthrow America.
I know someone in an IT related field who is 45; no one will hire him.
Ran into a woman with a grandson who just finished college. No one will hire him.
I'm in my early 60s. No one will hire me.
There are NO jobs. Unless you are in the medical field or a speciality field you're SOL.
Where I am there are jobs. Sorry for the lack of availability in your area. What about looking for remote work from home?
As you mentioned, continue to deport so Americans can work. The admin is doing just that but are getting real pushback as you know.
The magic question! Why don’t they get a job?
Catholic Charities was part of the NGO scam. But I'm sure they have private donors.
also, most people who are using food stamps dont actually need them.
Aid to those two countries last year was $88billion.
and cut or eliminate pay for congress sleaze
That much would seem to be clear.
Ah, the Socratic Method on display. Did auto correct remove not before talking...
No, I said it right. If he is correct, he should be able to demonstrate his position from Scripture.
There you go. Again. You prefer human intelligence (Socrates) over Wisdom.
Genesis 12:1-3:
Catholicism was started by Edomites.
There are many possibilities to include individuals who are not joiners or parrots. Now on to unraveling that ever lasting covenant.
I expected the condescending replies Tom. So much hatred to the modern Jews that these people declare are not 'real' Jews. I think there's a word for that...
Bullshit.
I say let it be discontinued.
Anyone wishing to reinstate must provide ID and proof of citizenship.
Yes… I think this a perfect time to overhaul this program to only serve those it set up to do.
Agree, SD Scott! Remove everyone from the SNAP rolls, and proof of citizenship, income numbers and identification to get back on.
I agree, there should be no welfare for anyone. The illegals don’t like the work ethic. They’re just here to take advantage of American taxpayers. Enough.
Fund only to Americans… not illegals. We need to stop all benefits to illegals in our country. They need to go home to their country.
Many illegals get many benefits here AND work for cash under the table. That way they live well here in the US and are able to send money home to help their families and native economies, too.
that is a visionary statement, flipping the script
Libtards are self destruting, in full panic mode.
Allow them to continue
Why would Trump do that? He supports the Ukraine war and all things Israel.
How about put back SNAP for citizens in exchange for also adding paying salaries for the military, homeland security, etc.
Oh, just like it is right now.
In my opinion if you collect food stamps you forfeit your right to privacy.
If you are collecting anything provided by taxpayers money, you should be made to prove who you are, your need and that they qualify.
That’s why it needs to go back to the churches and communities.
Exactly. Back to the churches. How many lefties have you seen inviting an illegal to dinner at their home? We pay too much in taxes to be taken advantage of this way.
Privacy to commit crimes: what a concept.
🎯🎯🎯
Good point! Food assistance was never private in the first place! Once you apply, your information is public to those who make the decisions and administer the benefits from the program.
We the people are sick of this sheet!
Wait till we start a war in Venezuela.
I think we have all the Venezuelan criminals here already.
In the State Department and the DEA.
I’ll wait…
"Winter is coming."
What is the difference between Arab and "Palestinian"? They should be the same.
Exactly
Always remember "no good deed goes unpunished."
You’re wrong to be too nice, because you are empowering the worst kind of people to take advantage.
Well, that's between them and God. We only help them once a month. Many of these families have been coming to our food pantry for many years, way before I got there.
It annoys me, too.
Isn’t that the same premise as ‘Do not muzzle the ox when it is treading out the grain?’ (To allow the gatherers 1st pick I mean).
Possibly...
There was a time I would have felt the same way… I’ve seen too much in life to judge for taking care of your family first.
I understand. In these two cases, I know the women fairly well. They are both of the "me first" mindset. There are other people whom I have gotten to know better, and who at first seemed this way to me but don't any more.
I volunteer at our local food pantry.
Amen - well said
Just eliminate all tax free foundations created with the Federal Reserve Act and the income tax.
People forget that a "nonprofit " is just a business that doesn't pay taxes. (That sentence sounds like a clarion call for fiscal abuse!)
Here is one cancer cure that they buried. More die from the constant fear and testing.
Great business model.
I've moved to the attached.
https://robertyoho.substack.com/p/320-tylenol-is-a-pharma-atrocity
And throw in a bit of ivermectin for good measure!
Love this idea Liz but anyone able bodied needs to work FT like the rest of us do or have.
Sadly, that’s not true. Plenty of able-bodied people are freaking out about the requirement to work or do volunteer hours to receive SNAP benefits.
Some private-sector, church-run food pantries do exactly that.
We are planning an extra food pantry next week at my church.
Flashback to the Hours I used to spend clipping coupons. 😆
We made it on low income too. We went without some things people find high priority and are better off for it. 😊
Houses are being bought up by large corporations.
And by many from other nations.
a large % of FHA loans were given to foreign visa workers....
I don't think zero down mortgages are being made anymore. Those got shook out with the 2008 housing crisis.
And now there are new "necessities", like cell phones, computers, internet...
Don't forget tattoos!
And apparently fake nails and eyelashes because (almost) everyone complaining about their EBT have them!!
I almost said that...I guess for some people they are necessities...
As Jeff said in the post, SNAP doubled during Biden’s 4 years of open borders. I think we can safely say at least half are illegals on SNAPz.
https://open.substack.com/pub/2ndsmartestguyintheworld/p/pre-engineered-civil-war-42-million?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=ktckf
that's been us as well.
You're not alone. According to the Job Market, I've aged out, and I'm too smart/ experienced/ white/ heterosexual to even get a job interview.
yep, that's where my hubby is at.
They won’t hire you if you’re a white man.
Your use of coupons brought back memories of my mother, may she rest in peace.
And green stamps!
:-)
I will help you in your fury! We have ruined people by giving them food stamps, we have taken away their independence and their motivation to be good. We are encouraging, sloth, and corruption by being overly nice.
I agree with you wholeheartedly!!
That was one heck of a run-on sentence, E33. I couldn't read it out loud in one breath. You deserve a trophy for that. 😉
Don't restrain yourself.
There is no shame any more. That's a problem.
Yup. No shame, only “pride” 😑
Sounds like communism
Agree, I was just saying this to my teenage son who is homeschooled.
past time to get back to the constitution
My understanding (never having used EBT/SNAP myself) is that the program is funded and administered by the states, with some reimbursement from the feds.
Not. It is a Federal program administered by the states.
What could possibly go wrong?? 😑
“Or they are just bad-faith actors trying to undermine him.” It’s this one
We are blessed
I've seen four prongs in his approach so far...
Much thanks for your informative reply.
Who is it? What’s the device?

They are ALL of those things.
I posted this above but will post it again here:
Yep. As Jeff has often reminded us, the solution is LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL.
I pray for those innocent children that are truly in need at this time.
then they need to get a second job. I had 3 jobs at one time when I hit a hard time.
Curious if you will be able to do that at 75 or 80, as many elderly also rely on SNAP.
They should have saved and lived frugally when they were young. And yes, I know many at that age that are healthy and working.
I don't want to single you out as many on this site, some who probably think they are good Christians, lack empathy or speak in terms of "should" all of which indicate a hardened heart and judgment. Who knows what happened to a frail senior along the way, but they certainly should not be judged - is that a Christian trait?
I don't care if you single me out. You do you and opine as you want and I will as well. Next.
I still think there are cases where charity is truly needed and not just a hand out.
yes, there are cases but this snap thing is a farce for those to take our tax money that truly don't qualify for it.
Exactly. The backstory matters.
Where are these jobs? My kids would like to know.
God bless.
Millions of children born here of illegals receive SNAP benefits.
yes, that was all planned strategy.
As Tom Homan said in an interview, “They can deport as families.”
Right. Also, just because lobster tails and caviar are EBT eligible doesn't mean that significant numbers of people are buying them with EBT.
I’d like to see a DOGE report detailing such data.
So folks on food stamps can't afford food, but they can afford computers to read the government's website informing them that their SNAP benefits are about to be curtailed?
Huh, go figure!
and they have time to protest but not use that time to find a job.
It's mostly white boomers that are protesting.
Actually there are a lot of young people as well.
A) yes, people capable of multiple things so what's your point? Why would you wonder about Trump's lines? Why not wonder more about Beyonce, lol.
B) I know based on research and working in the stats field.
Next.
Don’t they all get free phones, or just the illegals?
Hahaha. Not funny, though.
Let the industry, pharma and doctors who ok’d those drugs pay for her care now.
Lord, when did we see you hungry.
Nah, the government hands out those Obama phones. Not sure how many CAN read though.
Wonder if you’ve heard of libraries or resource centers?
Want to see several hundred congressman suddenly SNAP into synchronistic fervor?....as part of the stipulations threaten to shut down the Pfizer gravy train and then set your metronomes. "Ladies and gentlemen....I believe we have a deal."
Or call for the Epstein tapes.
That's obscene.
I approve this message!
Mrs. RW
Wonder how much control would fall back to us, the people if we did not pay income taxes next year. What a gravy train would come to a halt and they can't put us all in jail.
Time for a tea party!
I’ve heard that from other people. They didn’t qualify for food assistance because they made too much money *last year*.
The fact that they lost their job this year and have no money to eat with means nothing.
Lobster and caviar on food stamps. It never entered my mind.
When I worked as a cashier in a convenience store, I saw people buying ice cream and cookies and chips and soft drinks with food stamps all the time. That’s not what it’s for. Nor is it for luxury items like lobster.
Yup
They re-sell the stuff for cash which they then use to buy stuff that, well, you can't directly buy with government gibs.
Absolutely
I heard that the cards themselves are traded for cash.
I am still outraged.

I resent this a good deal less than paying for war, subsidizing corporations or funding and bailing out would-be imperialist powers.
Ridiculous. Right? We hard workers subsidize all these expensive goodies for those who do not want to work. Makes my brain boil.
Mrs. "the Knife"
Yup.
As both a food pantry volunteer and a former building contractor, I agree 100% with your comments. This is in large part the direct (perhaps intended) result of American government school education.
then they best get their shit together and get spayed if they are having too many kids they can't afford. work or no food.
Me either!
I do hate that Americans who need help are having food insecurity while we “assist” illegals. Dems need to deal now. Stat.
New word for me today!
Insouciance thanks! ☕️🌞🙏
I can use the word "insouciance" in a sentence.
In fact, I just did!
I couldn’t until I just looked it up.
Looked it up? That takes all the fun out of it. Just sling it into a sentence and see what happens ....
😂
Well done, Tom! Mix it up in mixed up metaphor like "the tide might be going out on the vaccine industry’s salad years," and you win the internets.
I laughed until I cried, and the tears were like drops of liquid secreted from the ducts in my eyes.
😂
🤣
My 6th grade teacher gave us insouciance as a spelling and vocabulary word. I still remember how to use it and spell it. I wonder how many 6th graders in public school now are learning words like that? Another one I remember is vichyssoise.
I’ve made vichyssoise before 😄
The key is to use a rich chicken stock with dill in it.
the key to a disinsoucianced sauce
Or soup.
