“It’s nearly a miracle he took the time to do it. One struggles to comprehend the pressing emergencies and urgent crises that must also have been competing for Lincoln’s attention amidst as difficult a presidency as any man has yet endured.”

This reminds me of your unwavering efforts to pen C&C every morning despite the pressing emergencies and urgent crises that must be competing for your attention, Jeff :-)

On this Thanksgiving, I am grateful to you and the uplifting community you have cultivated here. What I wrote about my readers in the poem I published today, “What I Like About You” (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/what-i-like-about-you) applies equally to the C&C Army, and I am thankful to all of you for lifting me up during my journey through grief and loss over the past four months (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/the-art-of-losing) 🙏

Please, everyone, use this Thanksgiving to create moments you will cherish for eternity. Don’t waste it arguing or saying things you will regret. Love is the most compelling argument you can make for your values and beliefs 💓

Griefshare class and the book Hearing Jesus Speak Into Your Sorrow along with journaling helped me so much during loss. May the Lord continue to heal your broken heart so that someday, someday, when you think of your loved one, you will only shed tears of joy for having known and made memories with him.

Praise Him for His mercies all day, every day!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed.”

Good morning my dear Caffeinated family.

Let’s be thankful to the LORD for all his blessings and mercies.

As a pilgrim in this beautiful country I came to learn and love what is to become an American and share all kinds of cultures in it. But the most beautiful thing is when all this different cultures become one. American 🇺🇸

We did pray and beg to the All Mighty LORD to give us one more chance (2 Chronicles 7:14) and HE has answered.

We all cannot be enough THANK FULL TO HIM for this opportunity.

We all have an idea of where could we all be right now if HIS HAND has not changed that day the projectile that would ended everything for us and the World. Today let us rejoice and renew that bow.

Thank you LORD and all of you for four beautiful years and many more together here, changing this country and the world in Yashua name. Amen and Amen.

When we experience God’s grace, our perspective is changed, and we are able to recognize the good in the ordinary. We see the good side of the people we meet, and the light in the midst of darkness. We learn to appreciate any kind of person and any circumstance, often being impressed and touched by nearly everything around us. When that happens, we notice God’s love in every situation. We become grateful for everything we enjoy, seeing how undeserving we are.

From J. Kang "Spirituality of Gratitude: The Unexpected Blessings of Thankfulness"

Expand full comment
Jeff C's avatar

Very true, and thank you for posting this. I love that is says "touched by *nearly* everyone" as opposed to just "everyone". There's moral clarity in that difference.

As one becomes more committed to Christ and studying His word, part of that awakening is an understanding that spiritual warfare is very real. Demons are real. A doctor that performs sex-changes on children for money is demonic. A parent or counselor that tries to push this on a child is demon-possessed at the very least.

As we give thanks for God's grace, we should also give thanks that He dropped the scales from our eyes allowing us to see the world clearly. Without this we would be unable to protect our loved ones from the demons that walk among us.

While I don’t typically discuss politics with my patients, it has been a very interesting experience to observe the verbal “dance” that people do when they are trying to figure out your politics. This person didn’t do too much dancing before it became clear that I was working with a kindred spirit. We started exchanging our favorite Websites and substacks and this person sent me yours. I am forever grateful as your humor and wit, and your ability to cut through the cow manure and laser focus on the real issues is a joy. So thankful for you on this Thanksgiving of hope, 2024.

A Psalm of Thanksgiving.

Make a loud shout to Yahweh, all the earth.

Serve Yahweh with gladness;

Come before Him with joyful songs.

Know that Yahweh, He is God;

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving

And His courts with praise.

Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

For Yahweh is good;

His lovingkindness endures forever

And His faithfulness, generation unto generation.

— Psalm 100:1-5

May we always be thankful for our nation and may it again become a nation deserving of such gratefulness.

Make it so, Lord Jesus. We thank you for your mercy and for keeping your hand upon our country from its very foundation.
