Although Archbishop Vigano wrote this for Christians and Catholics in particular (of which I am one), it is critically important for EVERYONE to read as we head in to the final days of this most critical moment in our nation's history. Please take a couple minutes to read it and pass it on:

https://brownpelicanla.com/archbishop-carlo-maria-vigano-open-letter-to-american-catholics-on-the-eve-of-2024-presidential-election/

One quote from his letter:

"I repeat: the choice is between a conservative President, who is paying with his very life for his fight against the deep state, and an infernal monster who obeys Satan. For a Catholic, there can be no question: voting for Kamala Harris is morally inadmissible and constitutes a very serious sin. Nor is it morally possible to abstain, because in this war declaring oneself neutral means allying oneself with the enemy ."

The fact that Archbishop Vigano has been in hiding for quite some time, along with his recent excommunication by Francis tells me he's over the target. Our holy, decent, parish priest of 25 years was canceled by Cupich 3 years ago- joining the over 2500 canceled clergy around the world. Lately I've been saying the prayer from Fr Chad Ripperger that he wrote for the election. Thank you for sharing this, Daniel.

**Edit: I'm sharing the prayer by request, from Fr. Chad Ripperger, a noted exorcist - his website here: https://dolorans.org/ - the prayer is here: https://divinemercyforamerica.org/wp-content/uploads/fr-ripperger-2024-us-election.pdf.

It is Marian in nature and I realize that there are many Christians who are not Catholic or Catholics who have left the faith for various reasons. I want to say first, that if you were treated badly, I sincerely apologize for that and we will all have to answer to God when we die for these transgressions. It's not easy being Christian in today's world, and it is especially difficult being Catholic - we are the only denomination that culture attacks from all sides, and from other Christian denominations. Today in Georgia, about an hour ago, the satanic temple performed a black Mass to desecrate the Eucharist - this is no joke, it is not a symbol. The number of people stealing consecrated hosts is on the rise and even at my small parish we are continually on the lookout for this -- we even need to remind everyone that they can't take Our Lord back to the pew (we should go back to taking Communion on the tongue, not the hand).

With all the priest cancellations and the scandals in the church (see masonic influence and also Bella Dodd Congressional testimony here: https://unconstrainedanalytics.org/forgotten-testimony-dr-bella-dodd-warns-about-communism/)

We are dwindling down to a remnant church which will go underground. There *have* been many of us fighting for transparency and to keep the faith - this group of men especially has been outstanding: https://www.complicitclergy.com/

The Catholic faith is a billion + strong. As in any organization of such size, evil can, will infiltrate with the goal to do irreparable harm. It has never been the faith which was wrong, it is that evil infiltrated it and damaged it, and is still trying to destroy it. To me, it is unconscionable that the CCP essentially put this current "pope" into power. Thank God for placing people like Archibishop Vigano in to his role and has given him the courage to fight back against Satan and his brood of followers. Vigano's words are truth written. We should stay focused on that.

It wasn't the CCP who put your fake pope in power. It was the same global elite who run everything. They need a world religion to help usher in a new world order. They got it.

We are each to undergo a continual reformation...a continual renewal, a continual metanoia, which is never impossible with Christ. "Re-turn" again and again back to Christ. The Church has done this so many times from the beginning, and will continue as well. It is a part of "not being There yet." And just as the Church, so each one of us.

yes that's right - here's my priest - canceled 3 years ago for standing up for the parish regarding the jabs, church closings, etc, etc, relegated to YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/@frjamesparker777

Expand full comment

So sorry to hear he was cancelled. Was it basically because he stood up against the church and didn’t go along with the narrative? What diocese?

Expand full comment

Rockford Diocese. Notorious Cupich canceled 15+ priests so far. If I can just say, Woman to woman, and as a mom, you understand that we have a special "radar" of sorts when sizing up priests - if there is the slightest "ick" factor we keep our kids away and we look for another parish. We just know - the Holy Spirit inherently guides us. Fr. Parker was already having issues with Cupich, for going against the narrative being pumped out at the Vatican (small things - bringing in more conservative speakers like Athanasius Schneider, singing some of the hymns in Latin, putting a kneeler off to the side for the more traditional families who want to kneel during Communion, offering confessions 7 days a week, twice on Wednesday and twice on Saturday, saying the rosary after daily Mass, etc). When lockdowns happened, our parish was told that we could only have 50 people at Mass. We have 3,000 Famiies! So Fr. Parker split the campus up and put 50 people in each section of the church and school. Strike one. Continued to have confessions -- outside -- doubled down on exposition of the Blessed Sacrament - outside -- drive by blessings in the car with holy water, but most of all he explained to us that getting this experimental jab was *not* a moral imperative and we were *not* sinning or hurting our fellow man by refusing it - our conscience prevailed. And this, I believe, but don't know for sure, was the last straw.

There is a huge difference between being accused of something and actually having done what you are being accused of doing. Look at everything they "accuse" President Trump of, and it was all a pile of lies. I put nothing past these leftists and devil worshippers to go after Father Pavone, because of his Priests for Life ministry and the fact that he was a staunch Trump supporter during the past two (s)election cycles. They do things with purposeful intent against their enemies. I think it very well could be payback for him calling out the Demoncrat party for being the party of death. I would need more information to come to a different conclusion.

And obviously, I don't condone inappropriate conduct by priests, pastors, rabbi's, imam's, any more than we should tolerate inappropriate conduct by our elected officials, government bureaucrats, military generals, police officers, grade school, high school or college teachers, etc..

Everyone's spiritual journey is different - it seems your view is catholics are apostates - I won't try to change your mind. I wish you peace in Christ always.

For anyone else reading, the Catholic church has survived over 2000 years despite the grievous sinful offenses of man. The Magisterium of the church, and her traditions, begun by Jesus himself, was established several hundred years before the New Testament was finished being written, completed and established. Jesus said he would build his church upon the rock of Peter, our first Pope... Peter, an extremely flawed man who denied Christ 3 times before the cock crowed. What could Jesus have been thinking by picking him, but he knew our flawed nature and promised we would not be left alone - he would give us the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and that's when the Holy Spirit came down upon the 12 Apostles, giving them authority to represent Christ in his place, until He comes back. The biblical Word of God is used in every Mass (one old testament reading, one new testament reading and one gospel plus the psalms), and in a 3 year cycle you will receive the entire bible. Nobody taught us this after Vatican 2 - reason for many churches to devolve into a social club. The Nicene Creed, which every Christian denomination professes in some manner or another, was written by the bishops at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. It seems easy to dismiss the first several hundred years of Christianity after Christ's crucifixion and say it is not relevant, but it's inextricably linked.

her traditions, begun by Jesus himself,

Nope. READ Luke's pair of wriings, carefully. Not hard to understand. His gospel account, then The Acts of the Apostles. THAT is what they did with Jesus' teachings. Today's RCC is very much "other".

Jesus never established a large organisation. It was always grassroots, local, dynamic, PEOPLE centred. Leadership always came up from the local congregations. .The ministry of each individual was essential, and encouraged.

Your personal interpretation is your own. And the church has always been very much grassroots, local, dynamic and people centered despite you saying otherwise.. I understand you despise the church and Catholics - it's your prerogative. Your insistence on all caps and your scolding tone does nothing to further dialogue. As anyone reading this can see, even Catholics can't have a quiet place to shore each other up in these terrible times -even among other Christians. Feel free to have the scathing last word - I'm not going to fight with you.

I grew up in the RCC, caholic school through second year University. Do not assume I know no whereov I speak.

I d NOT rely on "personal interpretation" which the bible forbids.. I have spent the past four decades of my life carefully studying and exlploring the scriptures. I base my own life on what I see there. I am in a solid bible based church with strong teaching. It is local, too.

Please take my suggestion and carefully read Luke's two significant and in[portant books. HOW did the early church begin and spread?

I am currently reading a book on the Book of Acts. It is called simply "Acts", wirtten by a man named Patrick Schreiner, a noted greek scholar and churchman. Nothing he writes contradicts earlier readings on that book I have done.

You can write me off as a rouser or contentious.. or you can apply yourself to deeper study than what you have had in the past. Be warned, some of what you believe may be challenged. Jesus' word s ARE the truth, and only truth. I always settle on what HE said.

The "rock" spoken of by Jesus were the substance of Peter's WORDS, not Peter himself, who was clearly no rock. The early Church used this interpretation (that Jesus spoke of Peter himself), to build a monstrosity in place of real faith - in Jesus, alone; the author and perfector of it. Adherence to the doctrines of men has splintered and warped true faith and blinded hundreds of millions into apostasy. I love Jesus with my whole heart. No man has the authority to call me "damned", no matter his hat. That determination is God's alone.

In addition it's really unusual that he has never gone back to his native Argentina since becoming pope. He's responsible for 15+ cancellations of clergy just in the Chicago area. He and his bishops have this formula - they target the good guys, ask them to come in for a "talk", explain that they need to go to the notorious "St. Luke's" for some much needed rest and discernment, then they garbage them up on pills and crazy counseling, then declare they are not fit for the priesthood and put them on the sidelines in limbo, hoping they will drop out and ask to be laicized. After 10+ priests had this happen to them, they told our priest to get a canon lawyer and don't go into the meeting alone. Our bishop (Molloy) had him sit outside with his lawyer for 2 hours and then refused to see him. And then canceled him anyway. The whole thing is unconscionable.

Every priest is so different. I can't read their minds but the stealing of the consecrated host has really become a serious problem. Also the dwindling number of priests and the lack of confession opportunities make the whole idea of taking Communion a loaded issue (ie - taking Communion without having gone to confession for serious sin). Most churches have one half hour to 45 minutes set aside for confession once a week, usually mid day on Saturday, when people are out and about, at their kids' soccer games, etc. There's just no opportunity for this extremely important sacrament. Frequent confession is a real spiritual booster when understood properly.

No offense taken, from a former protestant now Roman Catholic, who had some of the same questions. The Lord never denies anything that His Mother asks of Him. Look at the Wedding at Cana. Gary I appreciate this -- It is hard for non-Catholics to believe we truly do not worship Mary but venerate her and that she is the new Ark of the Covenant that is scripturally explained in Revelation. I think Mary also fills a role and wound for many of us who did not have mothers or moms who just weren't emotionally there for us. I have been recently surprised by the number of converts to Catholicism such as Candace Owens, Jordan Peterson's wife (who experienced a miraculous healing with the help of her Catholic nurse who taught her the rosary), comedian Rob Schneider, many protestant clergy and even Russell Brand, although not a convert, prays the rosary (and wears it around his neck, which, meh, not a fan of that).

Faith in Christ is actually fundamentally simple, but it’s not easy! My journey came from a bit of a Martin Luther experience, but I am much freer now. If the Church hierarchy is “corrupt and rotten” as you say, why support it? And honestly, we’re really not much different: https://babylonbee.com/news/were-not-so-different-10-things-catholics-and-protestants-actually-agree-on

I have been married to a Methodist for 34 years, and we go to both services every Sunday. Both stubborn I suppose. For me the anchor to the Catholic church is the belief that Jesus truly gave us himself in the Eucharist, and that our participation in the sacraments - We ARE the Body of Christ - is part of our covenant to be faithful. I will say my husband's church is more active - more ministries and more evangelization - but the services are more like concert performances with a sermon and a random prayer or 2 thrown in. I like the reverence and the cadence of the Mass. But I also believe that there are many paths to God and at the end we are all on the same journey and need to encourage & respect those on the that path. We share a common enemy and need to come together and fight regardless of doctrines, bible interpretations and how we choose to worship.

I would agree, but would put it differently.

It's hard to draw a line between the Catholic Church and the people IN the Church.

The Church is the spotless Bride of Christ.

But she is made up of sinners.

Yes, thank you. As long as there are humans involved, there will be disappointments as we are all sinners.

Anyone interested in reading about spiritual battles, this would be a great book by Frank Perretti describing what goes on in the unseen world.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Archbishop Vigano's letter is a most profound and important read. This election is definitely "good vs evil" and he spells it all out in undeniable detail. Thanks for the share.

There's a similar commentary for Christians who are not Catholics. "In a world where secular values often clash with biblical truth, it's crucial that Christians understand their responsibility to engage in the electoral process and to vote. This engagement is not just a civic duty, but a biblical imperative. Many will rightly remind you that we should not place our eternal hope in political parties or candidates. However, this theological truth doesn't absolve us from the responsibility to be good stewards of our citizenship and to vote."

I have heard other well known Pastors who have said two things: a Christian must vote, and vote biblically, and to NOT vote is a sin for Christians. We must all vote conservative, biblical values. I.e., abortion and DEI and trans agenda... all attempting to destroy the family is SINFUL. We must vote against.

I firmly believe that the Triune God is in control of Earth, and especially now. So, I am watching to see which way the cat jumps. Then I will know which way this country is going to go. Given some prophesies in Holy Scriptures, I will not be surprised if the way goes to the Left. But we'll have to see. The Holy Spirit moves in ways that seem mysterious to us.

I’m pleased to see that he wrote this. The problem with churches these days is the clergy thinks they should stay out of politics, and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Amen, Paige. Carlo Maria Vigano is a warrior of God. I hope he is widely vindicated and again, I call on the Catholic faith to remove this current impostor and raise Vigano to the Papalcy.

I think government bureaucrats have attempted to intimidate clergy by threatening their tax exempt status.

Never-the-less, they should seek, always, to do the Perfect Will of God, knowing he will protect them. An important part of their mission is to educate their flock so that government does not stand against faith as ours has. It astounds me that far too many of the clergy seems to think their job is only to CONVINCE US that God will protect us (and for our tithes?) but they forget that for themselves... or to protect their income... or both?

I think the faithful really should start demanding clergy take a stand so we know exactly their position on these things which have such profound impact on our lives.

Plus, NO INCOME TAX. Yes, finally.

Expand full comment

What no income tax would mean for me and my husband just brings me to sobbing tears. Given we have no way to ever shelter any of our money, and only own our home but nothing else, we pay full income tax - probably more than those that earn 5x what my husband does. We have lived paycheck to paycheck for over 26 long years yet have had NO debt during that time other than our mortgage. We’ve had to use any extra money through the years not to save for retirement but care for and advocate for three children with disabilities while the IRS illegally prevented us from accessing the relief in their own laws that we were legally entitled to, and not having extra money we couldn’t afford the attorney it required to fight their corrupt agency. So we are standing just 5 years from retirement’s door with no way to save. Being able to use what we give to the government to save for our future security and care is something I’ve often dreamt of but was convinced was never possible. I’m almost scared to hope for this but it’s the ONLY thing that can improve the quality of our life. Heck our last actual vacation was 30 years ago.

I can’t vote hard enough for Trump, I’m certain I’ll break my pen trying.

I understand. Our family situation dictates how income is spent.

Something you wrote resonates extra. “ almost scared to hope”.

I stopped hoping after GWB campaigned on creating school vouchers in 2000. We sacrificed to send our kids to non-government school. Drove junk cars, no vacations, everything on the cheap.

GWB was a failure and I lost any hope of positive change then. His legacy is 911, war, TSA and Homeland Security. BO campaigned on Hope and Change. Of course, he and GWB brought change, but it was negative change. BO made health insurance for our family unaffordable and ushered in SS marriage so our kids grow up confused. And that led to the trans movement which is physical harm and not just mental confusion.

So Rep and Dem have consistently failed us during my entire lifetime.

2016 - 2020 were the best economic years of my entire life. All the years before and after have made it such that my wife and I will never stop working until we are too old or broken that we cannot continue.

I feel your sentiment in my bones. We're in our 30s, single income household with young kids, grateful that we haven't had extreme medical issues but we don't have health insurance. We've chosen to be part of a Christian healthshare ministry since the insurance offered through work was prohibitively expensive. It has been nice to be free but we pay so much more in taxes now since our sharing dollars are after tax. It's around $5,000 more a year. There was a bill years ago to untie HSAs from health insurance, thereby allowing us to deduct all that from our taxes but alas, it died in commitee. It hasn't sunk us by the grace of God, but we don't save much if anything. We didn't want to hope the 'no tax on OT' would ever actually happen, since my husband always logs it and it would be such a boon, but this!!. I don't even know what to think. It seems too good to be true!

It deeply impacts the quality of family life. He’s a laborer. He gets up at 3:15 am every day and leaves for work at 3:45am. Gets home around 3-4pm. he is exhausted when be gets home, so doing any maintenance around the house is rare. That’s a lot to sacrifice just to barely make ends meet. I know others who sacrifice those kinds of hours for years too but their pay is 2-3x my husband’s and they have something to show for it, a business to pass on or sell, a better life for their family, ability to do more with charitable work, etc etc. Not true for the average family like ours. This maybe rough for many and many may agree, but are not “comfortable” with voicing such an opinion, but I will never understand why people keep having kids after their first (and especially second) child is born with disabilities. WHY? Whose life people think they are bettering by continuing to bring disabled kids into this world? Theirs? Their childrens’? Neither! Both sets of lives are only full of misery. Not being able to provide your kids with a beach vacation once in a while or any kind of vacation is not happiness. And just surviving is not happiness either. Maybe younger readers might think about this one and plan their lives accordingly.

This may be tough for you to understand, but they WEREN’T disabled when they were born!! These things all happened to them after their vaccines. And overnight too. It’s not like we had a kid and saw they were disabled and said “let’s do it again!” We gave birth to vibrant, intellectually gifted, happy children. They became disabled later in life due to vaccinations. Only one showed the damage at age 2. The other two showed them at age 5 and age 10.

I love my children. And I love them even with their disabilities. They are still just as beautiful and valuable as those without disabilities. But our society doesn’t allow for financial stability if you want to stay home to raise your kids like I did, even AFTER having a career, or if you have excessive medical bills that the average family doesn’t face. They actually make it harder for you to have the American dream as if we are to be punished for being a burden to everyone. SMH

I’m now facing the uphill battle of finding a job because I’m almost 60 and have zero recent work experience and zero references. My degrees are useless in my field (computer science) because of how drastically that has changed I’d have to go back for a minimum of 2-3 years to learn all the new tech. I’m capable yes, but it’s too expensive to do. And even teaching myself isn’t enough - you need to show you’ve applied those skills in the workspace. I have a LOT of research skills from learning the law to fight for special education and advocate for my kids, to fight the IRS, and to fight the mortgage industry. I know I have valuable skills to offer but I just don’t know where to begin and how I could possibly compete among hoards of women who never left their careers in the first place. Not to mention the younger generations looking to be hired too. It shouldn’t be so hard to re-enter the work force later in life but that’s what America has done to mothers.

Even though we live in a blue state that allows 3rd trimester abortions, my spouse and I have chosen abstinence since I told him in no uncertain terms that if our 2 methods of birth control failed I would immediately seek a medical abortion.

I wish I could afford somebody to sit down with us and give us this kind of advice - for our particular circumstances. But we can’t afford them. We can’t make the really good advisors enough money to make it worth their time to sit down with us. And the ones we can afford have so far given us bad advice. I will do an internet search about the treasury bonds (thank you) but I’m not confident to fully understand what to do without someone helping me. Also, dividends only pay a worthy amount if you’re starting with a large sum. I have a $12,000 IRA that is only worth $230 more today than it was 9 years ago. Income just equals expenses. Own house, don't know if mortgaged. Savings of $12K.

I don't know if there is a way to reduced the cost of the housing and still have the living space you need. A lot of ppl are upside down in their mortgage and they can't sell it for what they owe. Their best solution is to let the house go back to the bank and get out from under that mortgage and not worry about credit rating. But with the increasing in housing prices, this is not as big a problem as before.

The 12K is losing purchasing power every year due to inflation so it is being steadily eroded even with the small interest. If it were me, I would take it out (but then you have to figure how much tax the IRS will take) and buy "junk silver coins" (poor man's gold) for a low premium from a reputable dealer. Silver coins will hold their value over time just as gold will but are of small enough denominations (dimes and quarters) that they are spendable in a crisis if needed. Gold is more of a buy and hold forever. It's not good for transactions. OR find a way to use the 12K in a manner that allows you to generate more income from a business. I remember my grandmother bought a lot next to her home and then rented spaces for mobile homes to set up on it to generate income.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

We aren’t under on our mortgage, but our interest rate is 2.25%. It would be silly to sell and repurchase at the interests rates today. That would be losing money. Our mortgage is already lower than the rent around us is, about 1/3 what rent would be. It’s our real estate taxes that are killing us. If not for that I’d happily stay here long term. They are 40% higher each month than our mortgage payment is. It’s ridiculous around us. Our home value has increased real estate taxes unbelievable. When we moved in 17 years ago it was half what we pay today. To sell and be able to buy another home outright with the equity we walk away with from this one and avoid any new mortgage would require us to move completely out of state. We can’t move until my husband retires, because he needs to be within driving distance of his union area. He has 34 years so far and while vested, there’s a huge difference in monthly pension if he took early retirement vs waiting until he is 65. But any home within a 1.5 hour drive would be too expensive to not need a mortgage, and besides we want out of here as soon as he retires so moving twice in a short period of time is not attractive to me. We need to move to states with lower real estate taxes and lower home prices. And better patriots! 💃

Thanks for the ideas for the $12,000. I knew leaving it there was a complete waste but yeah cashing it out will cost a 10% penalty plus the 20% taxes on it. It’s so frustrating how much money they take from everything we have. This is why having no income taxes matters to me! We do have one son still in college this year, his grad school year. Most is paid for by scholarships but maybe we can save on the penalty part by using it for “college expenses.” This would be the last year we could get away with that. Hmm. Thanks. Might pull it before the end of the year. I like the ideas about finding a way to make money with it. It sure isn’t growing in IRAs!

The problem with the dollar is not BRICS. The problem with the dollar is the MASSIVE monetary inflation the USG has historically engaged in which has, under Biden, gone literally exponential. IF... the US had a sound monetary system (a credit system based on gold) as we did before 1913 (the creation of the Federal Reserve which enslaved all Americans to the international banking debt system), BRICS would not matter. The competition of a rival monetary system would not hurt us.

The vast majority of the USG's funding is based on the international banking debt system which allows the USG to create out of thin air all the financing they need for the empire regardless of how much or how little they get from income taxes. This is NOT the purpose of income taxes. The Income Tax/IRS is a mechanism for subjugating and further impoverishing the American people. It is a tool of despotic subjugation.

If the income tax is ended tomorrow, nothing changes for the USG. They will simply continue to fund their empire as they always have, through money printing/monetary inflation which is the "hidden" tax we all pay and it is the biggest tax there is on us.

The only way out of this debt trap is to defund the USG by 80% or more, default on ALL outstanding debt (thus shafting the international banking system and those, like the CCP, who hold vast amount of US debt) and getting rid of the Federal Reserve by going back to a gold-backed monetary credit system. THAT would change America overnight - literally. "But the USG would lose their credit rating!!!" EXACTLY. America doesn't need a credit rating. F*** them! If Americans were thus freed from their enslavement to debt and empire, America's productivity would out-produce the world in months. But that would mean Americans are once again free and the Marxists/NeoCons/sociopaths can't have that.

It is THAT simple. Economics is not hard. Balance your f****** check book. Economists would be suddenly unemployed. Economists would no longer be needed to practice their economic witchcraft in order to justify the financing of an empire.

Let me put a period to my long rant by quoting David Stockman's conclusion to his excellent analysis published by Doug Casey which should be available on LewRockwell.com in the next few days.................

Conclusion

Whoever wins the 2024 presidential election will face an unprecedented fiscal situation upon taking office. The national debt is projected to reach a new record high as a share of the economy only three years from now, well within the next presidential term. Already, the cost of servicing our high and rising national debt has eclipsed the cost of defending our nation or providing health care to elderly Americans. Three important trust fund programs are on track to become insolvent within the next 12 years, putting Americans’ retirement and health care at risk and limiting our ability to continue to update our aging infrastructure.

In the first year of their term, the next President will also face the return of the debt limit, the expiration of the Fiscal Responsibility Act spending caps, and the expiration of several tax and spending provisions that would prove extremely costly to extend.

All these factors raise the stakes of the upcoming presidential election. America desperately needs a leader with the wisdom and courage to make correcting our unsustainable fiscal trajectory a major priority.

Yet, both the Republican and Democratic candidates for President have put forward campaign plans that would, at best, maintain the status quo and, at worst, add tremendously to our debt and deficits. Neither has a plan to fix the imbalances in the major trust funds.

Vice President Kamala Harris has put forward a campaign plan that, if implemented, could add $3.50 trillion to our national debt, sending it to 133 percent of GDP by the end of FY 2035. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has put forward a campaign plan that could add $7.50 trillion to the debt, sending it to 142 percent of GDP by the end of 2035.

While it’s plausible that the Harris plan could be roughly budget neutral, it is also plausible that her plan could add $8.10 trillion to the debt. The Trump plan could add $1.45 trillion to the debt but could also add as much as $15.15 trillion.

Even in the best case scenario, neither candidate’s plan would be sufficient to put debt on a downward path and point America toward a more secure and sustainable fiscal future. Simply not adding more to the debt is no longer sufficient. Going forward, policymakers should make significant deficit reduction a major focus and priority, especially the Commander in Chief.

I read that the treasury is having a hard time selling the bonds. I’m not sure sure a long term investment in our government is a good idea considering we are swimming in debt.

Dividends from hundreds of grand??? 🤣🤣First of all dividends on $200,000 is NOT enough to live on. It all sounds nice on paper; it’s easy to armchair judge another person’s situation only understanding it from your own experiences, financial class, and theoretical understanding of how things “should” work. You have to have money to build money - period. We won’t have enough equity from this house left over to do much of anything with it after we buy a new place to live rent free. So yay no mortgage, but the pension/retirement will barely be enough to cover the real estate taxes on the new home along with medical and cost of living. We will get buy, yes, paycheck to paycheck as we always have. Ugh. That’s NO American dream. We will NEVER get ahead, and won’t be able to afford to enjoy life like we dreamt of when younger. No travel at all. Not in today’s world and economy. All that hard work all these years to build something and it is not there. Sure if you own a million dollar home you might be able to see it the way you do. I’m sick of people being so out of touch with the true lower class. You just don’t get it.

Juju, I found myself complaining to my Father one day (among many, to my shame) that I was tired of living hand-to-mouth. I don’t claim to hear Him speaking to me often, but I heard Him that time tell me, that it was from His hand to my mouth. Humbling to say the least. We don’t have the same hardships as you, but I do understand and will keep you in prayer.

Not to mention you don’t get to walk away with the $300,000 sale. After realtor fees, selling fees, and the tax on the capital gains you’d be lucky to have $200,000 left. If that.

We sold our last house by owner to avoid the realtor fees but we were on a major busy corner making it possible. We had a lot of traffic because of our visibility. Now we are tucked into a back culdesac behind winding roads. Nobody would see our signs and realtors around here are really nasty and control traffic away from you. Some still see there is money to be made but most don’t. They see you as a middle finger to their livelihood and work against you. When we sold our last home sooooo many buyers told us that realtors had warned them against our home as if it were a bad egg. Many felt we must be hiding something from them because our home was beautiful, prettier than a model home, and the nicest in our neighborhood, but wasn’t selling. There was nothing wrong with it - just the nastiness of realtors spreading false information about it and us. It took a long time to sell because of their interference. It would be 20x harder this time around given our location. We will need to use a realtor.

Juju,

You can do a FSBO and advertise on realtor.com for a small fee. There are an other real estate websites. Most people looking to buy a home don’t solely rely on a realtor, they go on realtor.com too.

Trump floated the no income tax thing in June 2024, so where are the details?

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/06/13/trump-all-tariff-policy-to-replace-income-tax.html

Perhaps he will reveal them on Rogan. But if he has no details, beware, this is just part of the Bread and Circus vote pandering.

The details have to include how you pay down the massive debt that has accumulated - a lot of which has his name on it.

I am no fan of the income tax nor the IRS. But he had 4 years as President to bring some fiscal sanity to the US and didn't. He continued the unconstitutional process of running the country by "Continuing Resolutions". The last presidential candidate that tried to educate the public on the err of our spending ways was Perot. At that time the national debt was $4 Trillion.

Expand full comment

This can help understand just how much tariffs can pay for practically everything

https://x.com/patrickbetdavid/status/1849163345611382898

Expand full comment

There is no miracle cure Juju. Tariffs, if applied, will be paid for by you, just like your income taxes because they will be baked into the prices of goods purchased. They are part of "cost of goods sold". Two can play at the tariff war and other nations can slap tariffs on our goods which could be the end of what little is left of our manufacturing base.

Anyone who is serious about Making America Great Again, should be focused on returning the Federal Govt to performing only the duties outlined in the constitution. This will significantly reduce spending and the need for taxes and/or tariffs. Everything is currently intertwined, so it will need to be done carefully over time to minimize disruption.

Expand full comment

I haven't read all of the comments so I don't know if this has been addressed, but the 16th amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows for an income tax. Trump can procedurally change our taxing methods but unless this amendment is cancelled (like the alcohol one) the Democrats will reinstate the income tax immediately upon regaining control. I like Trump's ideas but am just trying to look down the road.

Expand full comment

People liked but were disappointed in his initial tax statements (no tax on tips, but they were salary….no tax is SS, but they were still working)….I am happy that I was correct in those being baby steps towards this goal and VERY happy that I was wrong on the hopeful timeline…I figured 10+ years out to even bring it up seriously, but this is amazing and needed. Tariffs will prioritize US manufacturers and goods…and the way the government will have to shrink to run off of tariffs would be AMAZING!

Exactly! ALL true followers of Christ Jesus fear the Lord. Anyone who doesn't fear the Lord is not born again. Many of them will one day say, "Lord, Lord, but...".

Jesus will tell them to scram because he doesn't know them personally. I'm convinced that most "Christians" don't even know Jesus.

By the way...the term "Christian" is only used three times in the Bible (New Testament), and never by followers of Jesus. It was a moniker given to followers of THE WAY by non-believers. Apostle Paul didn't use it. None of the disciples used it. So I don't use it to describe myself.

I am a follower of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, who has shown us THE WAY unto salvation and eternal life with him in Heaven.

The word fear is sometimes translated reverence.

Expand full comment

In Deuteronomy 6:13 “Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name”, the Hebrew word for “fear” is Strong’s 3372, תִּירָ֖א (tî·rā), meaning “to fear” or “to revere” 😊 or “to cause to frighten”. Many times when angels appeared to men, these men became “sore afraid” and the angels said “fear not”. I think that the angels knew that this “fear” was reserved for the LORD God alone. Imagine the glory and majesty of the LORD compared to and contrasted with angels!!

Expand full comment

Fear means hold in awe. Not to be afraid. Hold in reverence

I suspect that if I beheld the glory of the Lord with my natural eyes that, not only would I be filled with awe, but also I’d be physically afraid, more afraid than I’ve ever been before in the whole of my life.

I'm pretty sure those Christians would feel fear if God appeared right before them. I also believe it is not the same kind of fear one feels when someone means them harm. It's a fear more related to awe. Our One God who created this entire universe, who is all powerful, all knowing, all seeing, all supreme love, Perfect beyond what we humble humans can grasp - is simply so mindblowing that an awesome fear arises in us before Him.

Much wow on the Trump Economic plan.

Charging tariffs on imported goods to encourage domestic manufacturing... to pay for ending the income tax. Game changing!

Expand full comment

Agree. One of my concerns however is that much of even the Made in America crowd still has to outsource way too many components to actually manufacture anything. That being said, if we could bring back those outsourced products=jobs, wow, that would be awesome!

Expand full comment

Repel minimum wage and get teenagers working again! Then we can bring back manufacturing (pieces of it require so little skill, great for teens….and then real pay for the jobs that require more work/thought/expertise/skill)

Expand full comment

This is a good point. It will take time to get all of that back. We’ve lost some expertise and experience in certain sectors of manufacturing and it won’t come back overnight.

I agree wholeheartedly! Trump could do the whole Revitalization of America thing with pipelines, rebuilding infrastructure, roads and bridges. Bring back manufacturing and as stated, put teenagers back to work at a starter rate, at jobs not intended for a lifetime career. If we do in fact have LNG/Crude, lithium and silica within our borders, we need to put America first and rebuild this experiment in self governance and liberty!

I truly believe Trump can bring this country back from the brink and together we can restore peace around the globe!

I don't blame them for the pricepoint.

You can listen to the head of the company on Mike Rowe's podcast, "The Way I Heard It". They do it right. But few appreciate that. {Although these flannel are sold out!}

Expand full comment

But isn't that the problem then? It's all well and good to pay for high quality, made in America goods if you can afford it, but a lot of us can't afford that. It seems to me that eliminating cheaper options isn't a great idea.

Of course, I'm a libertarian anarchist so I don't see why we need to replace the income tax with any other tax. No need to fund the government (or anything else for that matter) by force. Any services people want, people are willing to voluntarily pay for. If you have to steal to fund it, then that means people don't really want it.

Allow free and open trade and don't tax anyone.

Expand full comment

Well, it's a rip off the band-aid option (yours) or a step in a better direction (supply/demand and/or similar prices to allow the too-expensive to drop... Mine)

Which has a better chance happening in the short term to aim for a better long term?

Expand full comment

It truly would be! I remember 20 years ago I was HUGE fan of the Fair Tax, and it went no where. It was all based on ending income tax and using sales tax. I LOVE it. It greatly benefits people like me (savers). It gives us more power over how much money we give the government, which I suspect is why they hate it so much.

Expand full comment

I have also been an advocate of a national sales tax but ONLY if the federal income tax is completely eliminated. Completely. Otherwise we’ll just add one more tax to our overly burdensome load.

I don’t know why more people aren’t for a national sales tax - it’s super fair, because rich people buy more things and more expensive things. You can’t shelter yourself from a sales tax, like the rich can do now. And also, visitors to our country pay, illegals will pay. Plus, there’s SO much less process to manage than an income tax.

Expand full comment

No. We don't need no stinkin' national sales tax. I don't subscribe to any idea that is not part of the original United States of America Constitution. What did it say about funding the national government? You want Limited Government? Trump's Plan, basically, is to go back to the Constitution. In this sense, alone, Trump is a true Conservative. We have gotten used to our Federal Government so much that we can't even imagine it having to survive on tariffs and such. This is one of our main problems. Vivek was right-on. We don't need a Dept. of Education. We really do not need the FBI or the CIA. Think about this. How much money would be saved from eliminating these things? And it is just a good start.

Expand full comment

keep in mind that the dirty tricks are what has allowed americans to live way above our productivity levels while the army and swift make everyone else pay for our good times.

Expand full comment

These “dirty tricks” allowed prosperity in the USA at the expense of other economies. If the USA has been a kind and patient and gracious neighbor — instead of a global hegemon, intent on maintaining its hyperpower status at all costs — perhaps there would have been cooperative and slow growth across the entire economic spectrum. The big trouble is that the powers that be — namely, the evil psychopaths at the top of the global political-economic-ecclesiastical power hierarchy — are feverishly working to make the people miserable instead of virtuous and joyful.

what I find particularly ironic are the cries: we were good virtuous citizens who did no wrong. nope, you were the sleepers o so happy to ignore the obvious signs that the 3rd world was paying for your american dream. turned nightmare.

To my shame, it took the Covid scam and the deadly mRNA injections to fully wake me up to what the USA has become. I spent YEARS being asleep, essentially a zombie.

Sometimes shame is healthy.

What ought I do now, I wonder (as I allow my mind to wander)? Endure being awake until the end of my days.

rejoice in being awake, and find the place where you can take healthy action toward the world we desire. and now and again poke other sleepers. not much profit in that, but every now and then sometimes works . . .

October surprise - they’re eating the fries, they’re eating the Big Macs. The MAHA/MAGA dream team cabinet with DOGE and no taxes would lead us into a new golden age: https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/make-america-healthy-again-cabinet-recipe

Tariffs vs. Income Tax? I would happily pay a premium for a “Made In America” product. I would pay a sales tax for a “Made in America” product. No “Made in the CCP” products in America. Sorry Walmart.

Expand full comment

No income tax? Among it's many benefits, wouldn't it also be a great way to take a huge set of pruning sheers to the leviathon of the fed government, remove all the bloat of evil which attempts to undermine our Constitutional Republic. No money, Department X, Y, and Z have got to go. Refocus the Fed government back to its clearly limited enumerated rights in the Constitution.

Exactly! Musk fired a huge chunk of the Twitter staff when he bought it. And it's running stronger and leaner now. Image that happening to the bloated US Government!

Amen. I subscribe to get the table of contents of the Federal Register in my email every business day. Pick any daily issue at random and check out the list of agencies posting notices. https://www.federalregister.gov/

Today for example, these inscrutable federal agencies are represented:

Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled

Industry and Security Bureau (Commerce Dept)

Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (Interior Dept)

Ocean Energy Management Bureau

Railroad Retirement Board

KBB, it has un-constitutionally taken control of every aspect of life... we might as well be living under a dictatorial regime... oh wait, we are.

I am utterly convinced that Trump is at least partially God's answer to our prayers. The rest of it is, on us, to humble ourselves to Him as the most important choice we can make in life.

BINGO DAN!

Agree. And maybe we would become wiser consumers, willing to pay more for things that are well made and not cheap, inferior throw-away stuff that has built in obsolescence to be sure we remain voracious consumers.

I have been for years. If I can’t pay more for something made in America, do I really need it? Shop local!

I still have my Made in America hot air popper from 1983. It still makes the best popcorn!

Expand full comment

Unfortunately, "Tariffs vs. Income Tax?" misses the point. The Federal government gets most of its money via inflating the number of dollars in circulation (which we pay through another tax called 'price inflation'). End the Federal Reserve and we end this problem.

Expand full comment

Jeff C commented yesterday that perhaps we should join BRICS? It certainly deserves serious consideration if it will end the destructive "FED".

Expand full comment

I imagine how our situation would be different if:

Congress reclaimed its authority to coin money and determine its value, if the fed bank returned the interest to the treasury, which was the agreement and why they have a 501c tax free status, and if America calculates what our true debt is, after claiming all the lost income from the money barons, our debt would be minimal, but that’s an estimation. We wouldn’t need any Taxation!

Expand full comment

The tariffs would make the foreign goods more expensive, not American-made products.

Expand full comment

And therefore American made products more price competitive in the greatest market in the world.

Still, we must be careful that we don't select Made in America where the product is inferior. Superior product at superior price drives the engine of innovation which was always at the heart of the success of America.

Our 30 year old Maytag dryer died a few nights ago. Not worth having a service guy out. Going to buy a new one today but I hear the quality is so bad these days one has to buy an extended warranty. Perhaps if they were made to the old standards with American parts and workmanship…. A girl can dream, right?

Expand full comment

Still might make sense to have the old one repaired by an independent local appliance technician. Ours brought our older clothes dryer back to life for a minimally-priced service call.

(I'm still using a wonderful old GE refrigerator my parents bought in 1987 -- that has never needed service despite moving households twice.)

I’m not against products or parts made in China or Mexico, etc. I am against the insane incentives, subsidies, and regulations that drive those producers overseas. Yesterday I bought butter made in New Zealand! And it was cheaper(and probably healthier) than US made product on the shelf next to it. Make it make sense!

I am excited, but also VERY sad thinking about the whole thing.

Between the covid scam, the cheating in 2020, the false accusations, the courts not hearing a dang thing about the vote, but agreeing to haul him in for every bogus case, Trump being in the crosshairs twice so far, and a slew of other things, I just can not see him getting back into office.

Even if everything goes 100% perfect, I do not think they will allow him back in to mess up their plan. I am sure they will off him and it will be released as a tragic accident. A car crash. A plane malfunction. A nuke to Florida. Anything to stop a Trump win.

I am hope I am wrong, but I've thought this since he first got in. I said it will never happen again. I really hope I am wrong.

I'm pessimistic, too. I hope we're both wrong.

I really like your cabinet choices Yuri, except for one: Tulsi as SecState. Rationale?

Expand full comment

She recently switched parties. I'm guessing that was intentional to set her up for a prominent position within the administration.

Expand full comment

I just dont think she has the qualifications to be in such a critical role as Sec of State. But perhaps Yuri knows something I don't?

State needs to be completely gutted and rebuilt from the ground up.

Expand full comment

She has the most important qualification needed, IMO: she is pro-peace.

It's going to be really tricky, filling cabinet posts with people who can work the system and still upset it. I wouldn't be surprised if many position go unfilled until the DOGE is turning our recommendations.

It will also be really tricking finding people who are currently raging against the machine and will continue to do once they are in charge of the machine. Power corrupts. Maybe a way around that is to limit terms to 2 years. I know, then continuity is a problem - but probably not as bad as it is now (too much continuity).

Expand full comment

Took the words out of my mouth. Pro peace is the most important qualification

Expand full comment

Weeding out the evil which is weaved in and throughout State is the most important qualification. State is the most radical band of progressive liberal ideologists in government. State is absolutely necessary, but not in it's current state. State is as deep state as it gets. They forever work on the premise that their ideology and efforts supersedes whomever is currently in the Presidency.

Expand full comment

Tulsi's big negative was her anti-gun stance. Her stance has been to strip us of our 2nd amendment rights.

Maybe she's evolved since leaving the Dems?

Expand full comment

She doesn't.

She is been there and understands the evils of war, second who is more qualified than someone that has deserted their demonrats for the very same reasons.

Expand full comment

So, perhaps, she has enough knowledge of war to work well in the DOD? Not Sec DOD but perhaps Sec Army?

Sorry Carlos, abandoning the "demonrats" does not qualify one to be able to run such a critical entity as State. But it does show that she has matured from her demonrat ways. I'm proud of her for that.
