In the moment I was shaking my head at the Speakers “agreement” but in hindsight & after listening to Speaker Johnson’s interview with Hannity afterwards I changed my mind. I feel like the Speaker wasn’t so much nodding in agreement as he was trying to get settled in those first few minutes. Biden was extremely late & then took forever to actually enter, Biden was skipping over protocol (i.e. letting the Speaker actually introducing Biden & inviting him to speak to Congress / the Nation) and Johnson said he was being respectful to the office by not insisting on protocol. After hearing that I felt he was trying to be polite at first. The Speaker also talked about the lack of anything that could be seen as bipartisan on the night. I appreciated his demeanor because quite honestly it would be brutally hard to sit through that train wreck of lies & say nothing.

Good points, thanks for adding. I hadn't heard his take on it. It's possible. I'd imagine it's hard to sit there in front of millions and not get caught up in the moment or make expressions you don't intend to make, esp. if it's your first go round. I guess we'll know in time one way or the other, based on what gets funded and what doesn't. The old "know them by their acts."
