First I want to say I have been reading C&C for many months and really enjoy starting my day with it...so I am not trolling. However, the exerpt below made me cringe.

This just doesn't make sense to me. Trying to create some sinister plot between these two temporally related events because they both happened to be Trump allies. There are enough legitimate sinsiter plots in the world right now, and for us to start seeing the boogey man behind every tree will only blur the landscape.
I understand the impulse to see these things but I don't think it does our cause any good. Boris Johnson is not a defender of freedom and just because he appeared to favor Trump does not mean anything. His policies and actions tell us who he is, an actor for the global power structure. He also self destructed, unlike Abe, who was assasinated.
I guess the point I want to make is that if we see maliscious intent everywhere then we will cease to see it when it matters most. Everything becomes a ses of evil and it normalizes a constant state of fear or a knee jerk reaction to conspiracy surrounding every event that seems to negatively affect the cause of freedom. If everything is fake news, what is the truth. We have to sharpen our discrimination tools in an environment where nothing is as it appears. This is a tall order but the one we have been given.

There are so many people out there that I like to refer to as 'non-linkers', those that cannot connect the dots. Jeff helps with connecting the dots in many ways. Nobody is always 100%.
Eh, lots of very smart people like to draw lines where the tie is pretty tenuous. I have yet to follow anyone who is correct 100% of the time, but I think most of the readers of C&C know how to think for themselves; there is no requirement to believe everything you read. The USA Canada land border was finally re-opened on November 8 however entry to the States was restricted to FULLY VACCINATED travelers only.
So... escape to the land of the free and brave (Aka Texas or Florida) via land was virtually impossible.
Ferry services to Washington state from Vancouver Island also resumed. Boarding was restricted to FULLY VAXXED travelers.
Trudeau "suspended" (but did not LIFT) the Canadian travel ban against his own citizens, on April 20, 2022.
Yippee! Unvaxxed Canadians may now fly to Mexico and then somehow, someway, slip across the Texas border to freedom? (Is that a thing?)
With all that said: if you're an American or European or Caribbean Islander or Asian or African or Central American or South American or Australian or New Zealander unvaxxed citizen, reading this rant:
Don't plan either a road trip or book a summer vacation flight to Canada.
(Unless you're a Ukranian refugee or a temporary seasonal migrant worker.)
You'll be denied entry.
Maybe take Canada off your travel bucket list altogether until after King Fancy Socks is deposed in 2024.

First I want to say I have been reading C&C for many months and really enjoy starting my day with it...so I am not trolling. However, the exerpt below made me cringe.
"It’s odd, isn’t it, that in the same week, two of Trump’s close political allies were assassinated? Abe was literally assassinated, and Johnson was politically assassinated. One is a coincidence. Two is … what?"
This just doesn't make sense to me. Trying to create some sinister plot between these two temporally related events because they both happened to be Trump allies. There are enough legitimate sinsiter plots in the world right now, and for us to start seeing the boogey man behind every tree will only blur the landscape.
I understand the impulse to see these things but I don't think it does our cause any good. Boris Johnson is not a defender of freedom and just because he appeared to favor Trump does not mean anything. His policies and actions tell us who he is, an actor for the global power structure. He also self destructed, unlike Abe, who was assasinated.
I guess the point I want to make is that if we see maliscious intent everywhere then we will cease to see it when it matters most. Everything becomes a ses of evil and it normalizes a constant state of fear or a knee jerk reaction to conspiracy surrounding every event that seems to negatively affect the cause of freedom. If everything is fake news, what is the truth. We have to sharpen our discrimination tools in an environment where nothing is as it appears. This is a tall order but the one we have been given.

How true. Thank you for that perspective. It's helpful and informative. It's a fine line we walk and I will give Jeff a pass on this one as I think he making a casual observation that needs to be filed in in the back of one's mind for future reference. There are so many people out there that I like to refer to as 'non-linkers', those that cannot connect the dots. Jeff helps with connecting the dots in many ways. Nobody is always 100%.

Eh, lots of very smart people like to draw lines where the tie is pretty tenuous. I have yet to follow anyone who is correct 100% of the time, but I think most of the readers of C&C know how to think for themselves; there is no requirement to believe everything you read. That being said, I agree that calling Boris an ally of Trump as something of a stretch.

We all knew when Trump was elected and the dems screamed he was illegitimate, that that was exactly what they were going to blatantly do the next election. They cheated even with Hillary and they thought it was enough. But 2020 they weren't taking any chances. Cheat like crazy and make them have to prove it. I'll eat my hat if anyone can prove Basement Brandon got half the votes he supposedly got from real people and citizens.

We have had 50 years on only one side of the story of abortion or the pro-abortion view. If you took 100 people and made them sit down and watch the movie "the silent scream" which shows how a baby screams while being ripped to pieces, most humans would be against abortion. Not to mention the selling of body parts to science companies. People are just uneducated and do not hear the other side of this issue.

Jeff: would love to hear your thoughts on our CA governor's ads in Florida. I find them hilarious and a little scary: 1) Hilarious: Gavin Newsom is so dumb and arrogant that living in the dumpster fire he created in CA he still thinks it makes sense to call out Florida and run ads there 2) Scary: he is using this to gain name recognition for a presidential run in 2024. Gavin Newsom as president....I can't think of anything scarier.
Who the heck is he trying to appeal to here? I can't think of anyone I've met in Florida who thinks California is that great. Most think they're nuts!
Many think he is nuts here in California as well, enough to get him recalled. Newsom is a spoiled trust fund baby whose father used to be the head counsel for Getty Oil. What extra freedoms do Californias have over Floridians: we have higher taxes for the rich and poor (highest income tax and highest regressive taxes in the form of sales and sin taxes), none of our kids had the freedom to go to school last year (and when I took my kids to school playgrounds to get exercise the school would call the cops), pro choice? (Not about vaccines), the freedom to live in a house where homeless people can just pop up a tent and start doing drugs with no consequences…but hey we got great weather…wait Florida has that too.
