South Africa de-couples; US Omicron cases are mostly jabbed or triple-jabbed; Bloomberg wins the prize; Croatia represents at the EU; CNN out-Toobins itself; and more...
It’s Monday, and here to kick the final pre-Christmas week off right is a chock-full roundup for you: South Africa looks better and better as Omicron overtakes the field; it’s beginning to look a lot like a pandemic of the injected, everywhere you go; a major US news magazine wins an important Covid award; a Croation MEP owns the EU; the Times does some battlespace preparation for national injection databases; Broadway blocks kids; a new UK study shows the jabs are about useless against the mild new Doomsday Variant; and CNN encounters mucho problemos, as our southern neighbors would say.
🗞*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞
📉 Covid cases and deaths have completely “de-coupled” in low-jab-rate South Africa during the last 30 days. “De-coupling” is the Shangri-la of pandemics. It means that the graph of cases and deaths don’t track each other anymore. In other words, cases can go up but it doesn’t affect reported deaths. So, this is a great accomplishment for South Africa in an age where they overcount deaths as zealously as a CDC scientist with her re-definition pen.
Anyway, cases in South Africa are nearing an all-time high, with a 7-day average now approaching the previous peak last summer. But deaths are about tied with the LOWEST point in the pandemic — 18 months ago.
So. More Omicron, please!
💉 Reuters published a fascinating article on Friday headlined, “Most Reported U.S. Omicron Cases Have Hit the Fully Vaccinated -CDC.” It explains that 80% of the 43 reported Omicron cases were in fully injected folks, and 33% of the cases were in the TRIPLE JABBED.
Ruh-roh.
But according to Reuters, the CDC cautioned that even if most Omicron cases are mild, the highly transmissible variant could still possibly, maybe … you never know! … result in enough infections to totally overwhelm our fragile and brittle health systems. So we still need to … um … jab more … except … well … never mind! … It’s still bad! Okay?
🔥 I am beyond pleased to announce that we finally have the 2021 award winner for Hysteria and Hyperbole in Media, as Bloomberg has pulled ahead, late in the race. Yesterday’s award-winning article was headlined, “Johnson Warns of U.K. Covid Emergency, Sets Booster Target.” It’s Omicron! The little Doomsday Virus that could!
To set the stage, the dauntless financial magazine first quotes Boris as darkly warning that “There is a tidal wave of omicron coming, and I’m afraid it is now clear that two doses of vaccine are simply not enough to give the level of protection we all need.” Got it? The U.K. is facing a “tidal wave” of Omicron infections, and Boris immediately raised the country’s “Covid alert level” from three to its maximum setting: FOUR.
A tidal wave! Just when I thought they couldn’t come up with any new disaster metaphors for Covid because they’d already used them all, they did it! A nautical metaphor! Cue the clips of tourists in Thailand being washed away! That clever innovation brought Johnson surging into a neck-and-neck tie for first place, having out-Fauci’d the old fox himself.
But then Bloomberg reported this:
“The number of new omicron cases almost doubled on Sunday from a day earlier amid warning signs the National Health Service is buckling under the strain.”
Buckling under the strain! That’s even worse than overwhelmed! What horrible facts produced this devastating turn of events? Bloomberg explains, later down the article:
“Health Secretary Sajid Javid told Sky News on Monday that of about 3,000 omicron cases in England, about 10 people had been hospitalized and no deaths had been reported.”
My gosh! Ten hospitalizations. Say it isn’t so! Not ten! Double digits! Now, before you start making wisecracks and sarcastic jokes about the National Health Service in Great Britain buckling under ten new cases remember that it’s socialized medicine. It doesn’t take much to bring down a socialized health system. Apparently. Ten new cases probably requires twenty nurses and three hospitals. And they only have four or so. Or something.
Bloomberg’s award for Media Hysteria and Hyperbole will be delivered on December 29 at the Trenton hazardous waste processing facility. No tickets necessary.
🔥 The well-punctuated Ivan Vilibor Sinčić, a Croation member of the European Parliament, delivered a pointed message to EU President Ursula Von Der Leyen on Friday. Here’s the transcript of his statement:
“In the beginning, I will reply to the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who called for a debate on mandatory vaccination. The answer is no. You cannot mandate this medical products. And why you cannot mandate these medical products? Because data and science have shown us that these products are far, far — very far — away from what was promised.”
Uh-oh! Yes, he went there. Questioning the Narrative. Oh yes he did:
“I will repeat it over and over again. On 25th of February, here in Brussels, in the European Parliament, there was a committee and seven directors, CEOs from major pharmaceutical companies, from Moderna and Astrazenica to Pfizer and Moderna, were there. And we as MEPs had the right to ask them questions about their medical products. And they said it had extreme efficiency, 90-95%, all these high percentages. And nine months later, what do we see in the data? What do science and statistics show us? It shows us that the efficiency is far, far less than what was promised. This is the benefit.”
Harsh! But he wasn’t done. Then he pointed out the downside:
“The efficiency is the benefit. And there are also costs to the benefit. What are the costs? The costs are, of course, side effects. Every product has its side effects. So what does the science tell us about side effects? That there are more reported side effects, adverse reactions to these Covid vaccines, than all the other vaccines combined in several decades. We have products of questionable quality, and this is why you cannot mandate them. You cannot mandate them.”
But not just because the injections are shoddy products that don’t stop infections and create lots of problems. No, he went full freedom, coining a fabulous new metaphor based on “kidnapping:”
“And when it comes to freedom, more and more I feel that our constitutional rights, and our human rights, have been kidnapped. And then we have to pay ransom! Every six months, one year. We have to pay ransom to get our freedoms back. This is simply unacceptable. Our rights are unalienable! That means no kidnapper can take them from us. It’s as simple as that. And we accept nothing else.”
Three cheers for the Croatians! And they have such a serious way of talking. Must be all those years under the communists. There are still a lot of people there who remember what it was like. And they don’t, apparently, think the jabs are good money for value.
🔥 A weekend New York Times propaganda article is headlined, “C.D.C. vaccination data may overestimate first doses and underestimate boosters.” Apparently the CDC has been counting some booster shots as first doses. So, and this is shocking, the figures aren’t completely reliable. But it’s the states’ fault — for having incompatible software. Gosh, if only we had a national vaccination database or something.
We see you, New York Times!
🎭 Starting tomorrow, all 41 Broadway theaters will require kids aged 5 through 11 to be fully injected before they can come in and watch woke musicals. Because science.
I guess the New York City holiday trip is off now. Oh well!
🔥 Pro-injection scientist Peter Hotez tweeted over the weekend that he’s “gone through most of the stages of grief for the Pfizer vaccine holding the line vs omicron.” He says “It’s not the 70-75% protection vs symptomatic illness that bothers me, but the seemingly rapid decline after just a few weeks.”
Stages of grief! My goodness. Somebody send him some flowers or something.
The numbers are really starting to look bad.
A new UK study titled “Effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines against the Omicron variant of concern” reported that two injections basically don’t provide any significant protection against Omicron, with rates as low as only 6% effectiveness! The study was only able to be published because the authors also found that, right after a third Pfizer jab, effectiveness jumps back up — not to 95%, but only to 75%.
They didn’t estimate how long the boosted 75% efficacy would last. At all.
And, if VE rebounds to only 75% with the 3rd shot, what about the 4th? Will it spring back up to 75%? Or will it be something like 55%?
And, what about the NEXT variant? Will it evade the jabs even better than Omicron? Is the spike protein on the virus getting too different from the original formula in the jabs?
So NOW we see why Omicron must be stopped, at all costs. It’s not that it’s a threat: the cases are very mild and nobody’s dying. Which would be great if it took over. The problem is that the new variant threatens the injection industry. It’s a Doomsday Variant all right. Just not for people. It’s a Doomsday Variant for stockholders.
🔥 In the bottom story of the day, two days after Chris Cuomo was terminated for a COMPLETELY UNRELATED reason, a senior CNN producer named John Griffin who worked with Chris Cuomo has been arrested for sex trafficking minors — including a nine-year-old girl. Apparently the video engineer rented a house in Boston just for that purpose. I won’t describe the sordid details, because this is a family blog.
Again: Chris Cuomo’s termination over sexual harassment charges had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the imminent arrest of the senior producer that Cuomo had worked closely with until recently. Nothing at all, stop thinking that. It’s just a coincidence. You can’t prove it.
It’s an ugly story, and really raises questions about what the heck is going on over at CNN. CNN fired Chris Cuomo over sexual harassment ALLEGATIONS, but kept Jeffrey Toobin on — even though CNN’s chief LEGAL ANALYST exposed himself to female coworkers ON ZOOM while milking the reptile. So.
A sad, sordid affair, but there’s a silver lining. Over the weekend, Fox anchor and never-Trumper Chris Wallace announced he was leaving Fox “effective immediately” to join CNN. See? CNN is even-Stephen. One Chris for another. So. Fox’s loss is CNN’s … something. Good luck with all that.
Have a marvelous Monday, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow as we coast toward the best day of the year.

"Kidnapped our human rights and the vaccine is the ransom..." that's a really effective framing of the situation. Kudos to the Croatian guy.
At this point the CNN brand name is completely in the toilet. I wish someone would give me a survey, "What do you think of when you hear the word CNN?" "Sex perverts and wieners." "What about news, fairness, truth and honesty?" "Nope. Grabbing, groping and going to jail. That's what I think of."
What's the difference between politicians and mobsters?.................Sometimes mobsters go to jail.
