Drama-specialist Will Smith dramatically resigns from the Academy β to no effect; Vanity Fair exposes government-fueled attacks on Wuhan-lab theory proponents; sanctions fail spectacularly; much more.
Good morning and Happy Saturday, C&C! Itβs a beautiful spring morning in Florida, equal parts cool and sunny. Itβs a great time to visit if you need a freedom injection, which is a much better injection than those other injections.
In todayβs roundup, we observe: drama-specialist Will Smith dramatically resigns from the Academy to no effect; Vanity Fair exposes government-fueled attacks on Wuhan-lab theory proponents; New York courts strike down democrat redistricting and mask mandates but New York appellate courts rescue them; NYC re-extends toddler masking; Republicans expose CDC politics; Psaki gets a new gig; DOJ seeks to hire scores of new attorneys for scores of new J6 prosecutions; the WHO reports crippling vaccine-induced tinnitus; Russian sanctions donβt seem to be working out very well for Biden; China appears to be helping Russian invade Ukraine; and the best link of the month.
π*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* π
π₯ According to the Hollywood Reporter, after hysterically slapping Chris Rock in the face at Pfizerβs Academy Awards show, thespian Will Smith dramatically resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this week. Poor Will! This probably means heβs going to have to give that award back, right? You canβt reward that kind of bad behavior by giving it an Oscar, can you?
Yes you can! The Reporter explained that βSmithβs resignation only means he can no longer vote for the Oscars. He can still be nominated for Academy Awards, attend future ceremonies and keep the statue he won.β That little Oscar is a pro-violence statue, I guess. Maybe Pfizer should buy a rage-management drug next.
Meanwhile, according to yesterdayβs article in the New York Daily News, βChris Rock Discourages Fan From Cursing Out Will Smith at Stand-Up Show.β Apparently Will Smith needs Chris Rock to defend him. Comedian Rock was doing standup at The Wilbur in Boston Thursday, when a fan shouted βfβk Will Smith!β and Rock cut him off. βNo, no, no, no, noβ¦β said Rock.
Commenting on the event β briefly β Rock only told his audience that βI donβt have a bunch of sβ about what happened. So if you came to hear that, I have like a whole show I wrote before this weekend. And Iβm still kind of processing what happened.β So, no comment. On the biggest celebrity news of the decade, or something. Okay.
If it WAS a fake slap fueled by Pfizer marketing bucks, Iβm starting to think they didnβt plan their little story out far enough. What they really need next is a spectacular reunion and apology video, where the two men make up on camera. Maybe Will could let Chris slap him back or something, after which Chris would dramatically forgive Will, and Will would tearfully confess heβs taking an anger-management course. That would be exciting. And then the video could end with a link to Pfizerβs alopecia web page.
What do YOU think should be in the Smith-Rock reunion-apology video? Leave your suggestions in the comments.
π¦ Vanity Fair published a blockbuster expose late this week after reviewing over 100,000 documents and interviewing more than 30 people about the effort starting in early 2020 to squash the Wuhan lab-leak theory. Apparently β and this is going to shock you to your core β EcoHealth Alliance and Peter Daszak led a heroic behind-the-scenes effort to discredit every single scientist who thought Covid might have come out of the WIV, and label the theory as βmisinformation.β
See, this is the problem with the whole βmisinformationβ deal. Once you let the βmisinformationβ genie out of the bottle, anyone can use it to slander anybody they donβt like. It doesnβt matter whether the information is true or not, donβt be ridiculous. It only matters if you can make the charge stick. Which the NIH and Daszak quite effectively did, long enough to dissipate all the perfectly legitimate anger toward China and the U.S. agencies responsible for this pandemic. Racism! Misinformation!
Verminous plague-doctor Anthony Fauci was in it up to his wormy little neck, too. Tick-tock, doctor.
π¨ββοΈ Yesterday, a New York court rejected a Democrat-drawn redistricting map and ordered the majority party to work with Republicans on a new one after determining it had been illegally gerrymandered. βThe court finds by clear evidence and beyond a reasonable doubt that the congressional map was unconstitutionally drawn with political bias,β Judge McAllister wrote.
The Court ordered the Democrat majority to create new βbipartisanly supported mapsβ by April 11th. But most political observers think that Democrats will just appeal the case to a more βsympatheticβ appellate court.
π₯ New Yorkers got a brief taste of freedom yesterday after a judge found the stateβs school mask mandate to be unconstitutional, arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable, and enjoined it. Shortly thereafter, an appellate court stayed the unmasking decision, so masks were back on again. I guess the appellate court was more βsympatheticβ to the democrat-controlled governmentβs arguments.
Meanwhile, NYC Mayor Eric Adams announced yesterday that, despite announcing before the State of the Union that the hated mask mandate was ending, the city will continue its mask mandate on kids under five after all, due to a βslight uptickβ in cases in the city.
βWeβre seeing a slight uptick and we want to be prepared, not panic. Thatβs the theme, what weβre doing here New Yorkers. We want to be prepared, not panic,β Mayor Adams said. Preparation. I guess heβs a Boy Scout.
New York Cityβs health officials recommended that all New Yorkers wear masks in all indoor settings. New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan said βThis afternoon, weβre asking for a bit more patience and a bit of grace. Cases are definitely rising, and its gotten our attention. They will continue to rise over the next few weeks, and itβs likely that over three weeks, we will rise to a different level of overall risk.β
A seasonal increase in cases is 100% predictable.
There is no evidence that New Yorkβs mask mandates reduced cases or hospitalizations. How big of a slight uptick are they seeing? The uptick Commissioner Vasan referred to is up to about 13 hospitalizations a day, in a city of 8 million people. So it sure looks like NYC is chasing Covid-zero. Good luck with that!
π· Fox News ran an article last week headlined, βRepublicans Expose βUncommonβ CDC, Teachersβ Union Ties on COVID School Reopening Guidance in Report.β
According to a CDC official, despite the CDCβs βpast practice to keep draft guidance confidential,β and despite the agencyβs earlier claims that coordination with political groups like teachersβ unions was routine and nonpolitical, the CDC coordinated with teachersβ unions in a non-routine and completely political βextraordinary levelβ in drafting its school reopening guidance.
The interim report from the Republican-led House subcommittee said the βcozy relationshipβ between the teachersβ unions and the Biden administrationβs political leaders at the CDC granted the unions the ability to impose line-by-line edits on the βscientificβ reopening guidelines.
But the CDC refuses to discuss its political coordination in its βscientificβ process. βWhen Republican staff asked Dr. Walke questions to that effect, a Biden Administration lawyer instructed him not to answer,β the report says. βBecause lawyers for the Biden Administration prevented a key witness from explaining why the CDC allowed AFT to write key portions of its guidance for re-opening schools, there are still several unanswered questions. This matter should be investigated further.β
Steve Scalise, the Republican subcommittee leader, said βAmericaβs children are suffering, academically and mentally, because of the Biden Administration enabled school closures. Republicans will not rest until we uncover all the facts and hold everyone accountable who was involved in holding back millions of children from having equal opportunity to achieve the American Dream.β
We can hope.
π₯ Freckled White House spokeslady Jen Psaki announced late this week that she is hanging up her microphone for good and decamping from her job at the Biden Administration. But donβt worry! Sheβs already landed a sweet new gig with mephitic news network MSNBC, where you can watch her anytime you want, assuming of course that you are clinically insane.
π₯ Bidenβs newest budget includes a request for $34 million so the Department of Justice can hire 131 more lawyers to work full time on January 6th prosecutions. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco explained that the January 6th investigation is βamong the most wide-ranging and most complex that this department has ever undertaken.β You donβt say.
Deputy General Monaco promised that βregardless of whatever resources we seek or get, letβs be very, very clear: We are going to continue to do those cases. We are going to hold those perpetrators accountable, no matter where the facts lead us, and as the attorney general [Merrick Garland] has said, no matter at what level. We will do those cases.β
Okay, fine, letβs be very, very clear. When thousands of leftist activists attacked federal buildings in 2020 and burned police stations with cops still inside, the feds said, βmehβ and didnβt follow the facts like pallets of bricks that had been coincidentally left lying around or videos showing unmarked vans dropping off rabble-rousers. They didnβt hold THOSE perpetrators accountable, no matter at what level.
So that is pretty clear. Now the Biden Administration is escalating its war against conservatives and the Republican party, seeking to hire enough new attorneys to handle tens of thousands of additional prosecutions. But who will all these new defendants be? There werenβt anywhere near that many people inside the Capitol on January 6th. Who do you suppose Biden has in mind?
π₯ On Friday, the National Post ran a story headlined, βWHO: Pfizer Vaccine Potentially Linked to Hearing Loss.β Uh-oh. That canβt be good for business.
According to the post, the World Health Organization has published a report citing βextremely rareβ instances of hearing loss and other auditory issues following injection of the safe and effective mRNA vaccines. The article quotes Dr. Gregory Poland, director of the Mayo Clinicβs Vaccine Research Group in Rochester, Minnesota, who says he himself developed severe tinnitus after getting his second jab.
βIt was like someone suddenly blew a dog whistle in my ear,β Dr. Poland told MedPage Today. βIt has been pretty much unrelenting.β
Itβs not just a little occasional odd noise or tingling sensation, either. Dr. Poland explained that he βcan only begin to estimate the number of times I just want to scream because I canβt get rid of the noise or how many hours of sleep Iβve lost,β he said. The noise he hears is βparticularly loud at night when there are no masking sounds.β
Poland, a vaccinologist, says he STILL believes in the importance of getting the shots, in spite of his life altering side-effect. He said β and I am not making this up β because of his fear of contracting Covid and spreading it to his patients, he decided to get the booster shot. Of course. Makes perfect sense.
Dr. Poland also says heβs not the only one suffering from the βextremely rareβ side effect. βWhat has been heartbreaking about this, as a seasoned physician, are the emails I get from people that, this has affected their life so badly, they have told me they are going to take their own life,β Dr. Poland said.
These poor folks are suicidal because of the jab. Oh well. Nothing to see here.
According to the WHO researchersβ findings, people who reported vaccine-induced tinnitus ranged in age from 19 to 93, and 63% of the cases were women. Vaccine-induced tinnitus was recorded in 27 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy. Pfizer was involved in 80% of the reported cases.
Tragically, more than a third of the reported cases came from healthcare workers like Dr. Poland. As an attorney, my immediate suspicion is this is because healthcare workers are much more likely to report their condition than lay people. So who knows how many similar cases are out there.
Tinnitus is NOT currently disclosed as a known side-effect of the jabs.

π The AP ran a story Thursday raising questions about the Biden Administrationβs sanctions program, with the headline βRussiaβs Ruble Rebound Raises Questions of Sanctionsβ Impact.β
The AP explained that βthe Russian ruble by Wednesday had bounced back from the fall it took after the U.S. and European allies moved to bury the Russian economy under thousands of new sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine.β Uh-oh.
The AP made the obvious connection: βThe rubleβs recovery could be a sign that the sanctions in their current form are not working as powerfully as Ukraineβs allies counted on when it comes to pressuring Putin to pull his troops from Ukraine.β Could be.
By Wednesday, the ruble was trading at 85 rubles to the U.S. dollar, which is roughly where it was BEFORE Russia started its invasion a month ago. The ruble had fallen as low as 150 rubles to the dollar on March 7, following the Biden Administrationβs announcement it would ban U.S. imports of Russian oil and gas.
The rebound appears to be related to two things: first, Russia is requiring its oil customers, including China and most of Europe, to pay it in Rubles or else in gold. No dollars. Second, Russia is buying up gold well below market prices from internal sellers who arenβt now allowed to trade on international markets; in other words, Russia is taking great advantage of the sanctions to improve its own position.
It seems that Putin has somehow outsmarted Joe Biden. It seems incredible, but there it is. How could this happen given Joeβs razor-sharp intellect?
π The Times UK offered more news bad for the Biden Administration yesterday in an article headlined, βChina Accused of Hacking Ukraine Days Before Russian Invasion.β
The Times reported that intelligence memos it got from Ukrainian intelligence agencies show that China βstaged a huge cyberattack on Ukraineβs military and nuclear facilities in the build-up to Russiaβs invasion.β The intelligence memos purport to show that over 600 websites belonging to Kyivβs defense ministry and other Ukrainian institutions suffered thousands of hacking attempts co-ordinated by the Chinese government. The Chinese attacks started before the end of the Winter Olympics and peaked on February 23rd, the day before Russian troops and tanks crossed the border.
US intelligence sources confirmed to the Times that the information about the Chinese cyberattack on Ukrainian government facilities before the Russian invasion was accurate. The Chinese embassy did not respond to a request for comment, for some reason.
The articleβs sub-headline draws the obvious conclusion: βBeijing is complicit in Putinβs war.β
This is shocking! I was assured by top experts on MSNBC that the invasion of Ukraine was ONLY masterminded by a deranged dictator, Vladimir Putin. And it was ONLY because the Russian president harbored lunatic notions of reassembling the USSR or something because ever since he was just a tiny communist toddler dreaming of hammers and sickles heβd always harbored racist bigotry and prejudice toward the Ukrainian people. And I was assured by the smartest people in the Biden Administration (wellβ¦) that Putin had NO IDEA what he was doing or what he was up against and the Ukrainians were going to quickly teach him a thing or two about invading other peoplesβ countries.
But β¦ if this new information is accurate β¦ then Putin has been cleverly working with the Chinese from long before the invasion, and the Chinese must have a stake in the outcome or they wouldnβt get on board either. And that means β and I know you wonβt believe this β our experts were WRONG AGAIN. Itβs starting to look like OUR experts are the ones who have no idea what they are doing. Biden has managed to unite the two biggest nuclear powers in the world, historical enemies. Great work. Thanks, Joe.
Do you think our top generals might consider putting aside their cross-dressing hobbies and putting their pants back on for ten minutes to focus on what is really going on in the world and what we should do about it? Jeff, you are very talented and hilarious!
Speaking of murder and genocide, Dr. Zelenko revealed in a video interview earlier this week that he and other doctor and scientist "truth tellers" are under credible threat of death from the establishment. This means they are making a difference and we should be praying for their safety.
