Today’s extra-saucy roundup includes: a note on yesterday’s mailbag; a new bill orders DoD to report on tick experiments; staff changes at SpaceX; sudden and unexpected deaths and injuries; CDC’s committee meets today to approve infant jabs; a pending Supreme Court decision could change everything, and it’s not the Roe case; Sotomayor praises Thomas; Biden “bidens it” again; CNN shows signs of life under new management; Iowa’s Supreme Court does a pandemic pivot; the Atlantic advises Biden to stand down for 2024; the replacement press sec struggles; the fed raises basis points; and more sudden and unexpected problems at the baby formula plant, again.
🗞 *THE C&C ARMY POST* 🗞
🪖 OPERATION MULTIPLIER UPDATE: According to Harriet Hageman’s team, we passed $65K sometime late Thursday afternoon. That’s amazing! I don’t have the numbers from Thursday evening or Friday yet, so please stand by.
🪖 MAILBAG, CONT’D: Yesterday, in a short note, I reassured liberal C&C readers noting that to me, we are all on the same team — whatever you want to call it. Surprisingly, that remark generated the majority of yesterday’s comments. After some thought, I’m betting it resonated so much because it reflects a broader social realignment.
Someone commented that the labels “republican” and “democrat” don’t even matter anymore. They meant a lot of republicans are legacy RINOs who supported mandates and, rather than being principled and values-driven, are rudderless voids following the same corporate-media playbook as democrats.
I generally agree with that, but it’s even bigger. There was a halcyon time before 2020 when we could afford to think of the world in terms like “republicans versus democrats versus libertarians versus greens.” Those traditional parties are gone now, even if most folks can’t see it yet. Now, there are only two teams: human beings and globalist kleptocrats.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a “republican” or a “democrat.” Either way you lose, badly, if the WEF/WHO/UN/CDC/FDA/NIH/WB/Gates/Soros team wins. Unfortunately, and I really mean it’s unfortunate, the democrat party is now 100% owned by the WEF+ team. Republicans are a mixed bag; and we still have a viable chance to replace a lot of the bad Liz Cheney-like ones. That’s why the Republicans are our last, best hope.
Replacement won’t fix the democrat party right now. It can’t. There’s no bench of pro-freedom democrat candidates left anywhere to replace the current ones with. And even if they did pop up somewhere, the machine would snap online and grind them into bits.
Call it what you want, but we’re all on the same team now. Some people just don’t know it yet, but they will, hopefully before it’s too late. I think it WILL happen; I think it is already happening. It’s just hard to tell because corporate media has been WEFfed and they don’t report on their own losses.
That’s why you need C&C!
🗞*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞
🔥 Change is late but it’s finally pulling up in the porte-cochére. CNN ran a story this week headlined, “House of Representatives Orders Pentagon to Investigate Whether Ticks Were Once Used as Biological Weapons.”
A bill amendment sponsored by New Jersey Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ), which would never EVER have passed the House two years ago, requires the Defense Department’s Inspector General to investigate whether the DoD used ticks or other insects as potential biological weapons in experiments between 1950 and 1975.
Chris Smith has long advocated for Lyme Disease, which is named after Lyme, Connecticut, where the very first human case randomly appeared. By a complete coincidence — a coincidence that before 2020 only a conspiracy theorist would notice — Lyme, Connecticut is plumb spang right across the water from US Bio-Lab 257 — the Plum Island Animal Disease Center. See? Veterinary research! Just like we talked about yesterday.
Again, the actual news seems much more interesting to me than the investigation itself. In other words, two years ago Representative Smith would have just been one of those kooky Lyme disease characters. His crazy Lyme bills would have gone precisely nowhere. But after Wuhan — even though the federal government officially cleared itself and its evil muppets, Fauci and Collins — still, a majority of House Representatives are now willing to consider that maybe, just maybe, we need to check this Lyme thing out.
Just to be sure. Times have changed, after all.
One of the things that changed is a book that came out this year — post pandemic — titled, “Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons,” by Stanford University science writer (and Lyme sufferer) Kris Newby. Newby interviewed a retired scientist named Willy Burgdorfer, who used to work for DoD as a peace negotiator. Haha, just kidding. Burgdorfer was a DoD bioweapons developer.
Guess what retired DoD bioweapons engineer Burgdorfer told writer Newby? And guess what he showed Mr. Newby from his files? You guessed it, he told the journalist about having worked on a bloated bunch of tick research.
For balance, I’ll note that the American Lyme Disease Foundation’s president Phillip Baker says people should ignore Newby’s book because the CDC and NIH experts promised Lyme came from deer. I know it sounds like a joke, but he really said that. Baker thinks that if the CDC and NIH said something, that should settle it.
Oh! More good news. The AP reported this month that Pfizer is in phase III clinical trials for a Lyme disease vaccine. It uses two shots plus boosters. I’m not making this one up, either. So get ready.
I’m not even going to MENTION the newest conspiracy theory connecting Lyme’s red-meat allergies and Bill Gates’ fake meat campaign. It’s just too much.
🔥 According to widespread media reports, SpaceX fired at least five employees on Thursday. One day earlier, the hapless employees published an open letter criticizing Elon Musk and angrily claiming his tweeting was a “frequent source of distraction and embarrassment.” Whoops. Buh bye!
In other words, the adults are still in charge at SpaceX. What do employees these days THINK is supposed to happen when you criticize your own boss? A promotion?
🔥 A highly-insensitive meme making its way around social media this week cheerfully advises “Heart Attacks, Blood Clots, and Strokes? That means it’s working!”
💉 18-year-old actor Tyler Sanders, nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his role on the Amazon Prime series ‘Just Add Magic: Mystery City,’ died suddenly and unexpectedly Thursday. Police in Los Angeles got a call for a male not breathing; responding officers found Sanders unconscious at his home. Shortly thereafter, police pronounced Sanders dead.
The cause of Sanders’ death is unknown. The family said there will be an autopsy and an investigation into his death. Sanders also appeared in The Rookie and Fear the Walking Dead.
💉 The Today Show ran a story on its website yesterday headlined, “Young, Active Man Suffers Massive Heart Attack After Two-Hour Workout: ‘Listen to Your Body’.”
30-year-old police officer Ethan Bradshaw felt “severe” chest pain and numbness in his arm after two-hours of Brazilian jiu-jitsu practice. At first, the state trooper just thought he was tired, and that resting would help. But some of his first responder friends told him to go straight to the hospital. Their advice saved his life.
Bradshaw had a massive heart attack five minutes after he got to the hospital.
Bradshaw’s wife was shocked and baffled. “He’s healthier than I am,” she said. “I would have thought something would happen to me before him because he constantly works out, every day. He stays pretty healthy in his eating habits. He’s never had any prior health problems.”
Dr. Samuel Turner — Bradshaw’s doctor — said “I cannot overstate the importance of seeing a physician regularly at least once a year no matter how young you are. That is probably one of the most important things you can do.”
So, in 2022, the most important thing young people can do is see a doctor AT LEAST once a year for a cardiac evaluation. At least.
💉 The CDC’s ACIP committee meets today — Saturday — and after 90 minutes of discussion, they will vote at 12:30pm on whether to approve Pfizer and Moderna for infants 6 months and up.
I bet I know what happens!
🔥 Everyone’s focused on the Roe decision but there’s another pending ruling you should be keeping your eye on. Politico ran an article about this one last week, headlined “How SCOTUS’ upcoming climate ruling could defang Washington.”
The lawsuit is about an EPA rule setting punishing fines on coal producers for creating greenhouse gases, supposedly to combat “climate change,” and relying on a 1970’s-era law called the “Clean Air Act.”
Liberals are worried that the court will agree with Republican states and coal companies, who say that the EPA lacks authority to essentially create new laws. They argue lawmaking should be reserved to the Legislature, not the EPA, which is controlled by the President in the Executive Branch, and the rules it comes out with are drafted by unelected, appointed bureaucrats.
If the Court agrees with the Republicans, it could endorse a doctrine called “non-delegation,” which Politico says would stop Congress from handing off big decisions to agencies AT ALL. “A narrow reading of what the federal agencies can do is going to literally handcuff the federal government from taking action to protect Americans’ health safety and the environment,” said Lawrence Gostin, a public health law professor at Georgetown University.
Wouldn’t it be terrible if the federal government were “literally” handcuffed from taking action to “protect” American’s safety? Just awful. We might have to look out for our own safety.
And, I hate to quibble, but Professor Gostin used “literally” wrong, which is one of my pet peeves. For that to be correct, the Supreme Court would have to order the federal government to be arrested. But it doesn’t even have “hands,” so that won’t work, either.
Anyway, Politico says that courts, including the Supreme Court, have been using another legal tool to limit agency action, which is called the “major questions doctrine.” Court have cut back agencies a whole lot during the last two years while dealing with the Biden Administration’s repressive covid policies. But the “non delegation doctrine” would go even further than the “major questions doctrine.”
I told you all this covid overreach would have consequences. We’ve seen it happening at the local levels. Now the top court in the nation is considering limiting how much authority federal agencies have — which could be a game changer.
Give it time, people. It’s happening.
🔥 Justice Sotomayor, of all people, defended Justice Clarence Thomas this week. Justice Thomas is under attack because the January 6th Committee accused his wife Ginnie of overthrowing democracy or something.
During a recent public event, Sotomayor said “Justice Thomas is the one justice in the building that literally knows every employee’s name, every one of them. . . . he is a man who cares deeply about the court as an institution, about the people who work there — about people.”
Despite Sotomayor being arguably the most leftwing justice on the Court, woke leftists have been attacking her mercilessly ever since. Of course. But Sotomayor is setting a good example for us all.
🔥 Joe Biden claimed this week that inflation is higher in the rest of the world than in the US. He’s just as correct as when he told us if we took the jabs we wouldn’t get sick. In other words, he Bidened it again.
🔥 CNN is now owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, and the network is showing signs of life. First, the new owners promptly drained the steaming pool of wastewater known as the CNN+ service, into which the old owners had dumped over $100 million dollars and Chris Wallace. Recently, the network has, at times, begun daring to challenge the narrative. Late this week, on prime time, the anchors even compared Joe Biden to Jimmy Carter — unfavorably:
🔥 Yesterday, in a historic decision, the Iowa Supreme Court overturned its own 2018 decision that had found a right to abortion under the Iowa Constitution. Yesterday’s decision harshly criticized the prior case, saying it “lacks textual and historical support,” and that its “constitutional footing is unsound.” The new opinion explained, “textually, there is no support for PPH II’s reading of the due process clause as providing fundamental protection for abortion.”
You might ask, what’s changed in four years? I would argue: the PANDEMIC, that’s what. The pandemic changed everything.
🔥 The reliably-leftwing Atlantic ran an article this week headlined, “Why Biden Shouldn’t Run in 2024.” It begins with this advice: “Let me put this bluntly: Joe Biden should not run for reelection in 2024. He is too old.”
Although the author gamely tries to defend Biden, such as by pointing out “how well” the old codger is dealing with all the random curveballs that this crazy life has been throwing his way, he admits there is a “recurring theme” going around official circles, circles otherwise “predisposed to liking the president.”
“He just seems old,” a senior administration official told the author at a social function a few weeks ago. I think the emphasis was on the word, seems. He just SEEMS old. He IS old, and he SEEMS old.
The article was responding to a Monday night tweet from replacement press secretary Karine Jean Von Claude Von Damme-Pierre. “To be clear, as the President has said repeatedly, he plans to run in 2024,” she twittered. And apparently, that otherwise politically innocuous tweet nearly ruptured the wokeverse.
They DO NOT want Biden on the ticket again, for some reason.
I found the article most interesting because this is only the first round of public calls for Biden to clearly say he’s not running and to get out of the way for 2024. But Biden doesn’t seem to WANT to get out of the way. This article represents the first public, gentle, “let’s face reality” phase. Expect the complaints to ratchet up as Biden stubbornly hangs on.
🔥 I’m not sure Karine Jean-Pierre is going to make it, to be honest.
📈 On news of record inflation this week, the Fed announced a giant interest rate increase of +75 basis points. Immediately after, the Bank of England and the Swiss National Bank also raised their rates. We haven’t seen a rise in rates like this since 1994. Thanks for the lockdowns, experts!
At a committee meeting this week, Fed officials admitted there were dwindling chances for any quick economic recovery, and admitted that they will probably need to raise interest rates from the current 1.5% to as high as 3.375%.
🔥 You cannot make this stuff up. I know you wouldn’t believe me anyway, even if I tried. The Abbott baby formula plant in Sturgis, Michigan is shut down. Again. This time, it’s from “severe thunderstorms.” Probably just like the ones that shut down United Airlines last year.
You may recall that back in February, the plant has to stop its production on FDA orders, over allegedly contaminated formula that turned out to not have been contaminated after all. Abbott restarted production on June 4th, but made it less than two weeks before the next shut down happened this week. Abbott says that plant flooding from the “severe weather” will require the entire plant to be “re-sanitized.”
It is unclear if the FDA will then have to re-approve the plant’s operations before it can resume making the baby formula.
It’s so weird! Let’s face it, not only is he too old to be president, but Joe Biden hates babies. So far this year he’s starving them AND jabbing them with experimental drugs. What’s next, Joe?
Have a wonderful weekend and fantastic Father’s Day, and I’ll see you guys back here on Monday to kick back into gear.
