"So if the study is correct, the jabs offer kids a limited short-term benefit followed by a future higher risk of symptomatic covid infection."

Here we go again. I've been asking Steve K. to explain this so called Benefit from the jabs for months. So far he has been silent.

How can there be any proof at all that there is any benefit at all to anyone at all because they got the jabs?

Maybe they just didn't get sick because they just didn't get sick.

My wife has a restaurant. Had it all through the Murderdemic.

She's not a fearful kind of person. She never had a plexiglass guard put up. People's faces were 2 feet from her face as they placed their orders.

My wife never got sick, never took the jabs.

I'm a Handyman. I'm in stranger's houses all the time. I told them I do not wear a mask and if that's a problem then don't hire me. Only one woman did not hire me.

Some people have great immune systems. That MAY be why they did not get the covid.

Or...and here's a radical idea...maybe there is something after all to the Terrain Theory.

Regardless...I ask again...How can it be said that the jabs offer ANY benefit, either in the short term, or the long term? How is that claim provable?

Hey Steve...you reading this?

You might want to consider that you may well have gotten COVID, you just didn't notice. A lot of people have no symptoms.. But wouldn't you feel better if you had no symptoms, because the government printed up some new money and gave it to Pfizer or Modena?

There is a temporary 3-6 month period where you will have less symptoms with the original shot(s).

The 5 month vaccine efficacy report was hilarious. J&J was at 13%, AZ at 40%, Pfizer at 55% and Moderna at 65%.

The 10 week vaccine efficacy of the booster juice shots was equally funny. Nobody took a second J&J. If you had 2 AZ and added a Pfizer booster you were at 35%, 2 AZ and a Moderna 45%, 2 Pfizer and a Pfizer was 60% and 2 Moderna with a Moderna chaser was 70%.

The fourth shot was getting 1 month reduced symptoms. ROTFLMAO.

Pfizer execs and stockholders, and Gates are benefiting mightily! So it's worth it!

Expand full comment
TB's avatar

So. You can't "prove" that the vaccine causes benefit, if you mean proof beyond any doubt.

What you can do, is you can collect a bunch of data from people who took it, and people who didn't, and then say that "people who had the vaccine got severely ill with COVID only about 30% as often as people who didn't take it"; and then you can do some maths and say "the chance that these lower numbers in the vaccinated happened purely at random is less than 1 in 100". (* Numbers made up just for example.)

So, **IF** the data reported are accurate and not fudged or faked (which is a big question for some), then there's a high likelihood that the jabs reduce the risk of severe illness **against the specific variant at the time of the study**, and **for the duration they were studied** (eg only up to 4 months past getting the second jab, for example).

However... all the numbers above are averages. People who are already healthy, really weren't going to benefit that much to begin with, because severe illness happens most often in people who are unhealthy for other reasons. As far as I know, there hasn't been any study done on super-healthy people to test whether the jabs provide significant benefit, but observational evidence suggests it probably doesn't help much (even in the short-medium term; obviously in the long term it hurts, if the data are correct).

Expand full comment
Get Real's avatar

You just said that observational evidence suggest it (the jabs) probably do not help much. Well then that means the jabs do help some, or a little, or a tiny amount. You are using a statistical method that uses assumptions to prove itself meaningful. If such and such does not happen (a certain percentage of people do not get sick) then it must be because they took the jabs. What else could explain those who do not get sick? If X number of people do not get sick it must be because some of the people took the jabs...there could be no other conclusion based on this particular statistical model.

Statistics, just like the bullsh*t ways that Big Pharma claims one of their products is safe

is smoke and mirrors. I still stand by my claim that there is NO Way to prove that the vax has ANY value to anyone. It obviously does not stop people from getting the Covid. Isn't that what vaccines are supposed to do...stop people from getting whatever nasty thing the vaccine supposedly was designed to protect people from? Everybody thinks their particular brand of Statistical Methodology is the cat's meow. And perhaps there are statistical systems that are the Gold Standard for very specific types of studies. This vaccine does not stop people from getting Covid. It's a bust. It's not legitimate.

Expand full comment
TB's avatar

You don't actually seem to be disagreeing with me very much. I said above that you can't "prove" beyond all doubt they do any good (because there's always that 1% chance or whatever, that your statistics were just an incredibly unlikely random chance).

I think the data shows [assuming it was collected honestly] that it's "likely" that the vaccine improved the chances of avoiding severe COVID for at least some people, for a period of time after taking it. I am **NOT** saying that it proves they were better off overall, because the studies I've seen didn't measure that - it's quite possible that they had less risk of COVID but more risk of other things, and ended up worse in the end. Measuring only one thing and ignoring other downsides is exactly why a lot of studies are, as you say, BS.

(And certainly, anyone who said "the vaccine will stop you getting COVID" was dead wrong.)

Seriously though, in other news I'm sickened by Congresswoman Katie Porter's recent comment on an MSNBC interview: "Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell" (June 11) where she discussed the failure of Senate Democrats to pass their abortion bill.

“Although abortion was the main topic, O’Donnell questioned how it compared to an issue like inflation in light of President Biden calling it the number one priority of the administration. "Well, I don’t think they compare, I think they actually reinforce each other," Porter said. "So the fact that things like inflation can happen, and it can become more expensive to feed your kids and to fuel your car, is exactly why people need to be able to be in charge of how many mouths they’re going to have to feed. So I think the fact that we’re seeing this jump in expenses, that we’re seeing people having to pay more in the grocery store, pay more at the pump, pay more for housing, is a reason that people are saying, ‘I need to be able to make my own decisions about when and if to start a family.’ “

People can already be in charge. It's called contraception.

Gas is cheaper to now than in the past. But the USD has lost value bc of inflation. 100% government fault. 1965: gas@0.50/gal, gold=$40oz (80gal/1oz gold)

—> 2022: gas $4.50, gold $1800oz (400gal/1oz gold).

Gas is cheap but inflation makes it seem $$$

Federal legal tender laws create artificial monopoly that forces all americans to use dollars. There is no provision in the constitution that allows the US fed government to monopolize one medium as money at the exclusion of all others. The constitution says the government has the ability to “coin“ money. This means that the US government could mint gold and silver coins. Gold and silver are still the only true real money. Since 1971 the US dollar has been a pure Fiat currency. Which basically means it’s a complete scam. We’ve been the victims of the largest wealth transfer crime in the history of humanity since 1971. The US government and its associated cronies have stolen the purchasing power of the American people and anyone holding dollars. But like any addict, this group could not control its addiction to cheap money, Soon it’s going to have to go cold turkey, with devastating effects for the world

I don’t normally quote Keynes, but when I do, it’s always this:

“Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and, while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security but [also] at confidence in the equity of the existing distribution of wealth.

“Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”

– John Maynard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1919.
