Better alternatives: Homeschooling or religious schools that refuse public funding so as to avoid federal and state Dept. of Education interference in their hiring policies and curricula.
I've seen a lot of articles the last 2 years on "cracking down on those homeschooling families." And the organization I help with has been receiving more and more messages from parents asking if the things their school districts are requiring are legal. Districts are pushing the envelope, hoping a family will take them to court so they can overturn or amend our state's homeschooling law. Homeschoolers can never relax, ever. The 80s and 90s were a battleground for homeschoolers and I predict the upcoming decade will be even worse.
that's right. Hope is simply a substitution for strategy when a biz plan or war plan does not allow for change in tactics when the facts on the ground change.
When people lose hope, they lose their will to keep moving forward. This is why they douse the airwaves with all this fear mongering crap. Fear paralyzes most people, especially if they aren’t trained for certain situations.
So, I would respectfully disagree with you. We need hope so we don’t become despondent and give up.

Nobody is going to rescue us; we are on our own! So, figure out a plan, prepare for the worst and hope (there's a bullshit term!) for the best.

Hope in God, not man.
I got nothing else.
Wherever you place your hope, it must stay alive.
Absolutely nobody for rescue... It is God's battle.
