I, too, turned off my phone and put it in the microwave (acting as a Faraday Cage). I then promptly forgot about it. I remembered about 6 hours later. I'm old, though.
I said the same thing when it was all over. I had four hours of quiet bliss. I notifications. No swooshes, beeps, dings, or ringtones going off. I think I’m taking a one day a week technology fast. I already shut down the phone on Sunday for church so will leave it off until Monday. Make the sabbath a true day of rest.
When I was young I read 1984, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, and others. What made "The Prisoner" unique, was It demonstrated some of the techniques used to break a person, and that you must be on guard and prepared to fight them.
My hair was standing up on my neck because this is EXACTLY what I did! Did you find the same "beforeitsnews.com" post that I did? LOL

I turned off all my devices for four hours and so was disconnected from the world. It was the best four hours of my life in a long while!
I said the same. It was very freeing to be unleashed from electronics. Maybe we will add more electronic fasts to our weekly food fast schedule.

Great idea. 👍
Know whatcha mean - having that phone dead to the world was like having the sheriff remove the ankle monitor.
"I am not a number, I am a free man!" said Number Six.
"I will not make any deals with you... I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.
My life is my own.”
The Prisoner.
Another fan of "The Prisoner". Hello there!

Lessons that have stayed with me.
Pleased to meet you. The works you describe have proven to be prophetic ... add "Max Headroom" to the list.
Me too! I actually cleaned out my purse while waiting 25 minutes in car line!
