I thought of that. So our question is then..what is forgiveness. And is it only a thing when people ask for it?

We let go of the hatred for them in our hearts. We pray for their conversion. And we persecute the heck out of them for their legitimate crimes.

It can mean that you don't seek personal compensation for the harm they did to you personally, but nobody has the right to "forgive" on other people's behalf. And if someone wants to be forgiven then they darn well better be doing everything they can to make amends and fix the harm they did, and if not then they should be forced to do so by legal process.

If it is a fake call for forgiveness..fake apology. Then what. We still have fauci, hitler, Stalin, mao, ..great atrocities that we never cease to hate on.

Not contingent on anyone apologizing. We forgive AND hold them accountable. This is not a get out of jail free pass for them but a get out of hell for eternity pass for us. I posted a video in the thread about forgiveness that should help explain what I mean by forgiveness.

The answer starts at "forgive one another as God in Christ has forgiven you." Remember though He is coming to judge the nations and destroy His enemies.

When Christ says to forgive one another, He is talking about your brothers and sisters in Christ. He is not talking about evil reprobates. He does not forgive Satan or those who reject Him. Our understanding of His Word is flawed if we cannot even understand that.
