Totally agree. I have been using that abusive partner analogy for a while now.
I also think it applies to the rampant denial still in place. It's like the woman whose husband comes home late each night - disheveled, lipstick on his collar, and smelling like perfume. He says he "had to work late." She replies "OK" and goes on with her even…

It's not that she doesn't see the obvious. It's that deep inside she can't reconcile the horror of what it implies to her life (broken family, loss of income/status/meaning, etc.) I once heard that Denial is a "shock absorber" for the soul. Kinda fits...
Yeah, exactly. Denial allows the human being to continue going on in the face of what otherwise is horrific. It really is not a joke.
The entire charade of 2020-2022 was one grand infliction of trauma upon all of humanity. And I am not making that up. The powerlessness, the general impotence and/or unwillingness of this who COULD HAVE helped to help. Then the isolation, the shaming… right out of the playbook for traumatizing experience. No wonder so many went along with the forced shots in the end.

Exactly. It was RITUAL trauma.
Ugh. I hadn’t even gotten that far in my own mind.
But, yeah, requiring the victims to inflict trauma on fellow victims… Evil does not begin to describe it.
Agree.
Definitely a very good analogy.
