There are two things I believe to be true as you read this.

1 - It's not that Democrats love Kamala, they just hate Trump, so who ya gonna vote for?

2 - Republicans often have American flags accompanying their Trump signs. Democrats never have American flags with their signs.

Re: Local elections and spotting the D candidate Union "Bug":

https://i.imgflip.com/97fceh.jpg

Inside The Bug are usually letters like "GCC/IBT" inside of it (photo link above).

Usually most local elections, i.e. city council, county commission, county assessor, election clerk and recorder, elected judges, etc, are 'nonpartisan.' No D or R after their names. So how to tell the difference without having to look them all up? When even the campaign mailings and door hangers don't say R or D but sound like your kind of candidate, hit all the right notes?

The Bug. The union 'Bug' appears on all D candidate printed materials, even yard signs. No matter where you live. That's the tell. And no matter how much the rank and file union members support Trump, and some leaders have been grudgingly supportive, the down ballot local candidates aren't him and the D candidates still get union support, The Bug printed.

Local elections touch us closest. They're the ones who mandated masks, closed businesses, mandated vax passports, COUNT THE VOTES, remove parents from public hearings at school boards for speaking out to protect children from LBGTQ indoctrination, house and provide assistance to illegal immigrants and otherwise impose every single Obama/Biden/Harris policy they can at the local level.

Learn to look for The Bug on all campaign literature, signs. That's who NOT to vote for. And share this tip from an old campaign pro with others. Happy voting!

EDIT: Note my new comment at bottom of this thread I just added about my latest campaign mailer received, another version of "The Bug" is shared in the image links.

Image link above was from previous election cycle. Just got this in the mail today. This is a radical, Marxist D. Campaign mailer:

Union Bug:

Police, Firefighters, Bug:

https://i.imgflip.com/97gkes.jpg

Police, Realtors:

https://i.imgflip.com/97gkm7.jpg

NO! Unions, Realtors, are signals to run away from! To oppose! They are ALL corrupted, a part of the system most C&C readers oppose. Not all members. But ALL leaders. Unless they took principled PUBLIC stands against BLM/Defund the Police/Antifa, Pandemic tyranny, voter fraud, illegal immigration, transinsanity then they are a part of the destruction of our nation, and your own community. It doesn't matter that they may have offended "independents" in your community if they had spoken out, that these issues aren't central and core to police, firefighting, selling real estate issues that the endorsing organizations allegedly stand for. Leadership values involve taking risks to popularity. Going along to get along isn't a value that carries any weight for an endorsement to matter.

If they don't stand with principles against those destructive issues before they seek your vote, before their endorsements are supposed to mean something then they don't stand with you and your values then their endorsements aren't worth jackshite. Period! Stop making excuses. Or be the battered spouse in an abusive relationship and make excuses for how much your abuser really loves you, means well, is trying to get better. Stop. Just stop. And think. And use the small signs, like the Union Bug to help you in absence of any other contrary information. Endorsements are bullshite from organizations that don't stand for freedom.

Are you applying this to just national unions/ candidates? I ask bc I serve on the committee for a local city council candidate that is everything we C&C’ers look in an elected official. She has earned endorsement by both city fire and police unions as well as county fire (IAFF) union. I would hate for someone to mistakenly vote for her very liberal opponent just bc she has union support.

Local. This is your ‘tell’ for local. The Union Bug. A hard, fast rule. No exceptions. If they have the “Bug” on their printed campaign materials they are a Democrat. Which is important to know in local nonpartisan races. No matter how conservative they sound, no matter how C&C they sound.

This is how you get local officials in deep red North Carolina mountains who ban rescue missions for not following FEMA protocols. How illegals in deep red rural Ohio are given sanctuary by the “conservative” mayor who takes in 30,000 illegals into a 80,000 population rural town and opens up the public treasury to provide benefits for them.

Local is where these people hide. They use the language of conservatism to win elections in deep red jurisdictions. The conservative language they use is the con.

The Bug. It’s the tell. And any candidate with the Bug on their printed campaign materials will govern as a D on the most important issues. Throwing you a bone or two for the conservative checklist to keep you believing they’re one of you. They are masters of deceit.

Then I would respectfully disagree with you on this. I know my candidate. She is a personal friend and lover of our constitution and the original intent our founders had for it. It was her answers regarding our constitution and its original intent that won her the union and realtor association support.

On a side note- IAFF nationally has opted to not endorse a presidential candidate for the first time. Even though during meetings a majority of its membership voted to endorse Trump.

You can disagree and say that the sun doesn't rise in the east. Or that fish don't need water. But it won't make you right.

Perhaps read the words I use more carefully. My replies to you and DG. And even if your local police/fire union are truly Patriots and supporting her that isn't synonymous with having the GCC/IBT Bug printed on the campaign materials. Focus on that distinction, not the broader words your own mind inserted into my comment about union. The Bug. It's the Bug. Do you understand?

Your 'feelings' don't matter. And don't supersede my two decades+ of running local political campaigns. Ignore my cautions at your own peril. Because you like a candidate you met in person. So do Hochul, Whitmore, Harris , Biden, Obama supporters. They're charismatic, make you feel good, feel your pain. And will stab you in your back. And cut off your infant son's penis to call him a girl.

Even "R's" do it. Have you seen the John Cornyn video (US Senator from Texas seeking to replace McConnell as Senate leader) of him walking into the Capitol, met with freedom protestors about some issue or other I've since forgotten, started quoting Ayn Rand, mocking them with his proficiency in the language of freedom, as he went on to Whip and vote for the tyrannical sorts of policy his Ayn Rand quote was intended to show as tyrannical. They study us, our language, practice it, deliver it. Then they go back to their elegant gilded private club lives and laugh at how ignorant the masses really are, how easily deceived we are by reading lines from a script in a play. So, no, it's not just D's. It's R's even from deep red localities and states like Texas. The attacks on Texas AG Ken Paxton were from fake R's who are in Cornyn's universe.

It ABSOLUTELY is the rule. Without exception. The Bug. It's all about The GCC/IBT Bug. It's a symbol of union *leadership.* Not to be confused with rank-and-file union members.

I worked these campaigns for two decades. I know the game inside and out.

It's not even that the materials are printed at a union shop - they'll take R money as well as D, could even do the print for both candidates. It's the inclusion of The Bug on the D materials that's not on the R materials they print. No, they don't put The Bug on all materials they print. But the ones they are printed on are D's. Who WILL lock you down, force masks on your face, poisons in your arms, impose preferred pronouns on your lips, indoctrinate your children with Marxism, import illegals to your town. No. Matter. What. They. Say. Running for election.

No better tell. Or you can stay blind and ignorant.

*Note: R's like Cheney and Dewine won't have The Bug on their printed campaign materials. But will do all the above to you as well. So an R is no guarantee, either.

FF,

So I looked at signs around town. Found two with the - Union CWA Label -on the sign.

These two people are both running for different districts for County Supervisor. Because I have done research I know them to be hard core delusional lunatic lefties. But their campaign signs say nothing about the fact they are democrat lefties. So other than identifying them as Democrats - which is good enough for me - if you are a democrat you are bad for America. Period. Full Stop.

Does it give anymore indication about how they were funded? Other insights by virtue of wearing this CWA union label?

I found others with the Firefighters Union label, what can I glean from that? Not that the membership necessarily supports them but the union leadership does?

Expand full comment
Freedom Fox's avatar

Members may or may not be supporting D's. But leadership does. Exception: if the seat is reliably an R seat, no chance a D can win, union leaders may write checks to and endorse an R they don't believe is hostile to them. It's how that hang on to nominal 'bipartisan' appearances. But the R won't have the Union Bug on the campaign materials, even if has leaders who support. It's a D thing.

"you can stay blind and ignorant"--very charitable of you. Good luck winning independents over with that attitude. Dennis Kucinich put the union bug on RFK's campaign materials when Dennis was managing the campaign ack in 2023. Do Dennis Kucinich and RFK, Jr meet your definition of "blind and ignorant"?

Expand full comment
Freedom Fox's avatar

You have your information about RFK Jr to guide you without a Bug. And, like I said, not all R's are good, many examples to cite. But for those without track records, just the nice, warm face you meet at a local community meeting, running for office for the first time, saying all the right things you like to hear, that resonate with you, make you believe they are one of "us," the good ones, you literally know nothing about them until they presented themselves for you to vote for.

RFK Jr has a track record. And was punished for it. That's pretty good earned credibility in my book. But the unknowns? The candidates for sheriff, clerk and recorder, auditor, council, commission, health, coroner, school board, dog catcher, who you know nothing about other than what they themselves tell you, The Bug is your best indicator.

Take the state of Indiana, for example. A "Republican" governor, Eric Holcomb. Same cut of Republican as Ohio's Mike DeWine. Rino's. Who locked down, demanded masks, urged vax, closed schools...and welcome illegal immigrants to their states, allocating more resources for them than Americans already struggling in their communities.

And the local officials. Like Logansport, Indiana Mayor Chris Martin. Elected in a nonpartisan election, small rural town. Who's welcomed the illegals destroying his city. Blaming the locals - who elected him - for the problems they're facing. The cultural differences too much, and too many outside politicians making waves stirring things up for them. His constituents just don't understand the illegals. Who need help "assimilating."

Look at his picture. Nice guy! You'd like to like him. Probably a well-spoken, intelligent, warm, compassionate person. You'd like him. Really like him. He'll even talk conservative to you - like Kamala and Obama speak with different accents to pander to their audience. Sames. He's one of you! But he's not. And you can put good money that he had The Bug on his campaign materials.

https://nypost.com/2024/10/21/us-news/logansport-in-students-struggle-after-thousands-of-migrants-moved-in/

DG, it is blind ignorance to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Actually, that's been called the definition of insane. But I choose to be charitable.

As I said in earlier post, I managed campaigns professionally for more than two decades. I know The Bug. I know it well. And what it means. How much have people paid you for your campaign expertise in your lifetime? People paid me enough to live well for 20+ years because of what I know. How many homes of US Senators, Congressmen, Ambassadors have you been invited into as a dinner guest? How many governors - and their mistresses - have you gone out to bars, drinking, socializing with, have hired you to work directly for their campaigns, taken 1am and 6am calls from on Sunday mornings? How many US Supreme Court justices have you watched sign a final death row appeal denial and fax it back to a prison warden, then heard the radio news report that inmate was put to death five minutes after you watched the fax go through?

I've sat in the office of elected officials who've gotten up in the middle of a meeting we were having to welcome constituents travelling from across the state, back-slapping, big smiles, laughter, long lost friends! Until the constituents left, official sits back down with me, tells me they have no idea who the constituent was, just knew the town they said they were from, where the locals all meet on Thursday mornings to talk about politics, the local community leaders, was enough to make the constituent *feel* remembered, known. "Gotta make 'em like you!"

I've met aspiring first time candidates at backyard BBQ fundraisers, insurance agents, teachers, small business owners, all great, wonderful, nice people! Who were running for all the right reasons! They were going into politics to be a part of the solution, help get power back to the people away from the corrupting influences, good, salt of the earth folks, would have me, a seasoned pro, stand up and say, "Yes! We need you!" And they'd be what they campaigned as for awhile. At least as long as they were removed from the highest positions of power, just back benchers in a minority. But...when they got real power, a gavel, in the majority, a switch would flip. 95% would become that which they said they opposed. With power. Power corrupting, absolute power corrupting absolutely. Truth. Reality.

That's the truth of it. And if someone is a D the power rests with those atop the D party, no matter how local they are. And unless they have a track record of bucking the power atop, like RFK, Jr, 95% will become that which I describe. Whether you or so-called "independents" want to believe it or not. The time for living on fantasy island is over. Long over.

You're certainly entitled to your feelings. But don't mistake them for reality.

After meeting enough of these people in the backyard of mansion BBQ fundraisers who always (95%) disappointed I realized it could never be changed. That absolute corrupting nature of power. And #WalkedAway.

No, I never played dirty. I had a conscience. A liability in the profession. THAT'S the real "glass ceiling" in political power. I have no penance to pay. I fear not the gaze of my own eyes into my soul when looking deep inside them in the mirror. My former colleagues? Not a chance.

The problem is the entire corporate media, with some exceptions from Fox, very successfully brainwashes these people. Years ago, when I believed that the Democrat party represented free speech, anti-war, and favored the worker over the big corporation, I believed that the party was the one that loved the country?. I really hated the batch of Republicans that let us into the war in Iraq on false pretenses. If there was any good in the Democratic Party, it started to drain away after Citizens United, and Obamacare. I heard that Rom Emmanuel basically sold the parties soul to big Pharma in order to get that through. Now the globalists definitely seem to favor the Democrat party, which is now chock full of neocons. But I’m telling you that some of your Democrat friends really think that they are trying to save the country. As a group, I think they are more gullible. Something tells me you live in a bubble, Cstone. Polling has shown this repeatedly, and if you haven't been paying attention, the "lesser evil" argument has persisted and been dominant now for many years. I know many people who are voting for Trump because Kamala is so awful, not because they idolize the guy like you.

I did NOT vote for him in 2016, but did 4 years ago.

Oh my god Cstone, talk about projecting.....good grief. The lesser evil argument isn't something I'm making up. Its well acknowledged. You can like and idolize the man, and others, like myself, can realize we are voting for the lesser evil. I'm not the only one in that boat by far. You are acting like what I am saying is crazy and holds no truth. You are being blind to the reality that most people realize. Have a great day.

But we have been focusing on mostly working class areas of Raytown the last 6 weeks and have only seen 2 Harris signs so far and maybe a half dozen Trump signs. BUT it's been a job to get people to take Sean Smith for Congress signs as people are afraid of vandalism or ire from their neighbors, even though a lot of households in the app that are listed as moderate D's are saying they are considering voting R this year. It's been very encouraging. Have not had ONE unhinged person at a door yet. Oh, some will say, no thanks, I vote D, but no one has felt the need to rant beyond that, which is a big departure from 2022 when it was about 1 a day.

Well, in your defense, that used to be an ironclad rule of door-knocking in my circle - that even if the house was not in the database of the houses on your list/app, to hit that one anyway if they had an American flag flying. (and to skip the ones with a pride flag.) We still hit the American flag houses anyway, but the last 2-3 years it seems like it is not as reliable as it used to be. Of course there are Democrats and then there are leftist nut jobs and they are all under the same party. My late dad was a blue dog/Truman D and we always flew the flag growing up.

I am pretty sure there is more than one, but I noticed this sign in particular because of the mini American flags actually attached to the Harris sign. And yes, it’s a good general statement, my point was that even if it’s a vast majority, there are still plenty of exceptions. Plus I think as one other poster noted, they are all in with the “Trump is a threat to democracy” lie, so using the flag is their way of highlighting that.

Here in Northern Virginia, there is a marked difference in the signs this year. The Harris Walz signs are everywhere, and many of them are simply ENORMOUS. This is not a measure of their support for Kamala. It is simply a measure of their fear and hatred of Trump. One guy whose house is across from the Catholic Church I attend has bravely hung a Trump flag and an American flag vertically between two large trees. All of his neighbors have Harris Walz signs. His flags have been vandalized and stolen 5 times so far. I think he has finally given up, but I appreciate his courage and efforts.

These are not nice people.
