Nice.

And also nice to hear someone else calling out the ridiculous preoccupation nowadays w Halloween spooky decor. Why the continuing rise in celebrating fear, death, darkness?

I know why. Because Satan wants us to live in fear, death, darkness. He wants to normalize it. To make us forget that God wants us to have LIGHT and LIFE and he came to earth in the person of Jesus to give it to us.

If I didn’t have so much to do today, I would make a similar tombstone for our front yard.

Our pastor's sermon yesterday was from Revelation 19. He said every person has a reservation to one of two feasts. Those who belong to Jesus are invited to the marriage feast of the Lamb. Those who refuse His offer of salvation are invited to a gruesome feast which is described in that chapter. It is a stark contrast. A friend's husband will not submit to Christ, although he attends church regularly. He says he has questions about different interpretations of Bible passages, etc. He's been saying this for several years and at least one pastor has offered to sit down with him and discuss his questions, to no avail. I don't think he really wants answers. I was thinking yesterday that if the message didn't break through his complacency, I don't know what will. Our pastor is an excellent expository preacher.

Another thing I don't understand is why so many Christians are so frightened??? We're in a win-win situation. "To live is Christ and to die is gain."

My observation is that frightened people are people who don't know how to fight. Thus, they lack courage. Pastors have not been doing their job. Where are the Christian warriors who truly know what the armor of God is and know how to fight because they know the difference between right and wrong in any context. Most Christians wouldn't know where to start if they had to apply Biblical law to politics. Why do warriors have courage? Because they know who they are fighting for and they know how to fight. My suggestion is to begin with the Minor Prophets.

I would add, most pastors have taught their sheep to avoid politics as something beneath them. With no gatekeepers guarding the city, the Bolsheviks moved right in.
