In the centuries that have passed since the enlightenment, our "elite" seem to have become more stupid. There are many things about our species, our brains, our souls that are still well beyond our comprehension and may always be. The philosophers, artists, scientists and leaders of the past understood this. The hubris of our current philanthropaths will not allow them to conclude that anything is beyond their reach, and beyond their control. History will ridicule them, but those of who live through it will do the suffering.
