The past is the best predictor of the future. Ukraine will lose the war no matter how much aid the US provides.

[Yahweh] is the One who heals the brokenhearted

And who binds up their wounds,

Who counts the number of the stars;

He gives names to all of them.

Great is our Lord and abundant in power;

His discernment is infinite.

Yahweh helps up the afflicted;

He brings down the wicked to the ground.

— Psalm 147:3-6 LSB

The trans agenda is demonic. (Not every trans person, but the agenda.)

Am I the only one shocked by the Vatican’s stance on transgenderism? I feel like there have been several things (as listed by Jeff) that are anti-biblical that have come from the Vatican in the last several years, this hard line was surprising to me.

Fiscal Collapse Accelerates

https://brownstone.org/articles/fiscal-collapse-accelerates/

There is a chart in this article labeled, "US treasury debt out standing". People think that the "economy" is too complicated to understand when in reality this one chart is all you need to know to completely understand the economy and how we are being screwed. It's as easy as understanding your checkbook.

For a bit of background color, the US abandoned sound money domestically (credit based gold standard) for a fiat currency money system based on debt in 1917 with the creation of the Federal Reserve. Ever since that time, the USG domestically has had a blank check to run deficits financed by the Federal Reserve that increasingly placed a debt load on the backs of the American taxpayer through inflation. Prior to that time, the Federal Gov't could only run a budget deficit TO THE EXTENT the American people were willing to buy Gov't bonds. This was THE MOST IMPORTANT restraint on the Federal Government in the Constitution. The American people had the final say in what the Fed Gov't could do because they alone controlled the purse strings! All of this was possible because the US currency was gold and as such every dollar was a credit amount of gold.

With the switch to a fiat currency (debt) system domestically in 1917, the USG began running increasingly larger deficits and rarely balanced the budget. With WWII, this debt ballooned to what appeared to be gigantic proportions. But as you can see in the chart, this was nothing compared to what has happened since then, beginning in 2008. Now, up to 1971, the international dollar was still backed by gold. But in 1971, Nixon (a "conservative" President) closed the international gold window meaning that the dollar was no longer backed by gold internationally which put the US dollar completely on the debt based fiat system.

Now I would point out that beginning in 1917, the local domestic economy increasingly moved from a cash-and-carry (credit) system to a buy-over-time (debt) system that progressively enslaved the American people to debt, ie, to the banks. (All of this increasingly robbed the American people of their productivity to pay for the debt to the international banking system via the Federal Reserve.) With the real estate crash of 2008, the doors were thrown open to the financial rape of the American people with the "bailouts" of the zombie banks and "too-big-to-fail" corporations. From this point on, the corporations have had unlimited access to the productivity of the American people via USG debt. This was sold to the American people and the liberal intelligentsia as Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) which I'm sure everyone has heard of.

Now here's what you don't see in that "US treasury debt out standing" chart. It took 90 years from 1917 to 2008 for the national debt to grow to a little less than $5 trillion while the purchasing power of the dollar dropped 90%. From 2008 to 2023, the national debt grew to $27 trillion, an increase of $22 trillion or 540% in 15 years! If I plotted that history on a linear chart all the way back to 1917, you would clearly see that the growth in Gov't debt has gone exponential. The current trend line would look nearly vertical. You can see the slope of the growth curve and how the slope suddenly changed in 2008 and then changed again in 2019 going nearly exponential.

We are headed for the same brick wall that brought down the last great empire, the Soviet Union. The USG Empire is literally the culmination of the last 500 years of Western Civilization and, as the author states, "At this point there is nothing standing between us and fiscal collapse. The only question is when."

"democrats have “promised” to support Johnson and help keep him in the position" = Lucy holding the football and telling Charlie Brown that this time she'll allow him to actually kick it. Don't make me laugh so hard!

Placing steel reinforced concrete abutments around these vulnerable bridge supports would fix this problem.

Oh, I forgot we have to send that money to the sink hole in Ukraine, silly me.

My wife got mad at me for not waking her up from her nap to see the eclipse. There was nothing to see since we had full cloud cover. But "still" she said. I told her she can see the same thing every day around 9:30pm.

"Fortunately, three tugs had already been assigned to the Qingdao, and three more were staged nearby, apparently for just such an emergency, and leapt in. The six tugs easily moved the massive ship out of harms way, and the propulsion came back on."

This is almost certainly going to be the near-term solution to this currently mysterious problem. I was honestly surprised to learn that these ships were not already required to be accompanied by harbor tugs until they were past the bridges. I would look for the NTSB preliminary report and interim safety recommendation be fast-tracked.

(I live on Maryland's Eastern Shore and this has all been local news for me. We flew past the wreckage yesterday evening on our way back from eclipse-watching and my heart was broken anew.)

What do you think? Is this sudden transgender phenomenon an artifact of ‘cultural evolution’? Or is it something more sinister?

The latter. Definitely the latter. Transgenderism is a reality-denying attempt to recreate the Garden of Eden in "our" own cultural image. As a traditional, Mass-going, Confession-going, Rosary-praying, abortion-clinic protesting Catholic with no love for Pope Francis, I am happy to hear unmuddied words about this issue.

A Politico article says: "A staffer for Speaker Mike Johnson told a group of GOP aides today that the Louisiana Republican opposes imposing a warrant requirement as part of this week’s debate on reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, according to two people familiar with the meeting who were granted anonymity to speak candidly." If Mike Johnson supports a warrantless FISA renewal, it's proof that he is controlled by the Deep State.

Yeah, good Ole Vlad Zelensky is that guy just asking for one more "loan," except he's not bankrupt and his scheme is 100% guaranteed to make him very rich. I can only imagine how many hundreds of millions he's made, courtesy of the US taxpayer. Of course, it's all blood money, but that sure is of no concern to Zelensky or the US politicians and their cronies getting filthy rich off the war. I guess they will continue using Ukrainian men as cannon fodder, while enjoying their expensive glasses of champagne and eating their filet mignon steak in their mansions or on their yachts.
