Right? I’m sorry, but especially with the number of people commenting on that mistake, it just seems like repetitive nitpicking 😕 I would have preferred to read a few more insightful comments and analyses on the other issues Jeff write about than read dozens of corrections and snarky remarks that it’s not actually the first half of the year yet. And I agree, Jeff does a great job getting the round up written at all with everything else he has on his plate! It would be nice if he got a little grace for these occasional errors.

Jeff Childers—I share your view on Ono. Re: "Ono enforced strict college vaccine mandates"— so Ono clearly did not consider informed consent for coercing participation in a medical experiment. Informed consent was not possible for these jabs, they were emergency use authorized only. Ono should be held account before the law— certainly not up for consideration for running a university.

Denton is horrible! When we moved here 13 years ago, it was a solid conservative town... Then UNT/TWU insisted on voting stations at the schools, candidates from the schools ran & won, & changed a lot of the common sense election rules. One new rule is that a candidate for mayor or city council cannot declare GOP or Dem on the ballot. The dems pounce on gop candidates & shame them so they try to sound nonpartisan, so you don't really know who's who or what's what. And with open primaries, dems vote in the gop primary for the weakest gop candidate. So exasperating!

I contend that RINOs are simply the lower echelon of DemoCult membership. They are contented to not hold official Cult credentials yet are trained in how to think, speak, behave, and vote to support the greater CULT goals and operations and give tacit fealty to the Cult Leaders, and distance themselves from the icky, unwashed, uneducated, anti-cultist Conservative Republicans who challenge the "natural order" that they find so comforting and rewarding. They avoid the full brainwashing and strict obedience demanded, live the good fake country club lifestyle afforded them, and maintain a superior attitude and position over deplorable, bitter-clinger MAGA types who only embarrass them.

Bu I disagree with Jeff on Ben Sass. He was a RINO in the senate and proved himself to be untrustworthy to his constituents and not a true conservative. He was part of the “slippery slope” leading to Ono.

I recall that Ben Sass started as a staffer to GW Bush, which tells me all I need to know about him.

Expand full comment
RunningLogic's avatar

I didn’t get the impression Jeff was praising him for his time as senator, more that because of his RINO track record Jeff had low expectations but Sasse apparently did a good job as university president despite all that.

Your slippery slope idea does make some sense when taken with what he did in the Senate but not so much with his actions (at least according to Jeff’s take) at the university.

Expand full comment
Freebird's avatar

RL, you’re probably right. I simply have the same animus towards him that I have to George Bush.

We followed Sass closely early on because he “seemed” to be a great guy. After his education at Harvard and Yale, one of his earliest positions was as a small university president in Nebraska. My son is VP at a nearby Nebraska university and back around 2010 or so, he and Sass communicated a number of times in relation to their respective college administrations. My son said that he was brilliant and when he ran for the Senate seat in Nebraska, we wholeheartedly supported him. He had worked in the Bush administration and at that time we still believed Bush was a good guy as well. After Sass’s election to the Senate, it didn’t take long before we began to see his RINO tendencies and then when he voted to impeach Trump we fully realized he was not on our side, but was quasi conservative.

As a college administrator he may have been very good in a lot of ways, but politically I viewed him as a traitor.

Freebird's avatar

Correction, he wasn’t a staffer but a low level administrator in the Bush administration. In reply to RunningLogic, I explained the long story of how we had followed Sass from his years as a college president at a small university in Nebraska, because our son was VP at a nearby university, he talked to Sass a number of times and had high regard for him. So of course we supported Sass in his bid for Senate. His record as a Senator was a sad disappointment culminating in his vote to impeach Trump. As I told her, he may not have been horrible as a college administrator, no doubt he is a brilliant man, but politically he is horrible.

Stumbling Toward the Light

By Joseph J. Mazzella

If there is one thing I have learned over the years it is that God refines and purifies our spirits not only through great challenges but also through everyday encounters and simple moments. I got another reminder of this just the other day at the grocery store.

It was a windy, chilly, and rainy day and all I wanted to do was grab my stuff and go home. As I hurried towards the store entrance I saw a little, old lady bent with age, walking slowly in the rain with a cane in her hand. I didn’t stop to speak with her, though, but hurried on into the store. Later as I was pushing my cart quickly through the aisles I saw her again in a motorized cart slowly steering out of other people’s way. Again I ignored her and hurried on.

Thankfully, God in His infinite Love gave me a third chance. This time as I turned into the aisle with the rice I saw her again, sitting in her cart looking up sadly at the boxes she couldn’t even reach if she was standing. This time I stopped and asked if I could help her. She gave me the most beautiful smile and pointed to a box on the top shelf. I stretched up and grabbed it for her. Then we talked for a few minutes, two souls connecting in a beautiful way, until we said “goodbye” and headed for the checkout counters. As I was leaving the store I felt a sense of peace, a sense of love, and a sense of Grace I hadn’t felt all day long. I smiled and thanked God for giving me enough chances to finally get it right.

In this life we are all stumbling towards the light with varying degrees of love and success at any given moment. Thankfully God keeps giving us countless opportunities to grow and learn, to be kind and loving, and to become who we truly are. May your own journey towards the light be full of faith, full of love, and full of Grace. And when you stumble like I did, may you always reach out, take God’s hand, rise up, and begin again.

I got really sick back in November when I returned from France.

I mean really sick, like the sickest I had ever been in my life. The thought went through my head that maybe I should call 911 but was afraid if I went to the hospital, they would just kill me with their deadly hospital protocol. Figured I would just die at home instead.

Was it covid, the flu, or another bioweapon? Who knows.

After recovery, I had intense fatigue where I was sleeping at least 10-12 hours per day. And I was losing hair - didn't start right away, but about 6 weeks later. Checked with a dermatologist and she said hair loss can happen after a major illness. Thankfully the hair loss stopped after 2 months.

It was definitely a wake-up call. I had become negligent in taking my supplements - quercetin, zinc, and others. Figured I was out of the woods because I survived the whole covid time frame and I didn't get sick.

Expand full comment
Lori's avatar

I am so thankful that you recovered. God is good. I can't imagine how scared you must have been. I would not have gone to a hospital either knowing they would perform a depop dysthanasia. @Dave- and I don't tolerate those people who bend with the wind. I can understand learning through research and changing your mind (I did that with marijuana- realized the new stuff is nothing to fool with) but not saying what others want to hear for the sake of saying it. I like integrity and conviction.

Amen to that. At the basest level, no one says things things they don’t believe. “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). It might have been slightly more believable had he said “some of my past remarks reflect things that I NO LONGER believe, and here’s why…” but no. This is pure hypocrisy, but at $3 million a year it’s easy to undertand the motivation for the current set of lies.

I had a crazy thought. Is it possible that Trump didn't push "too hard" to prove the 2020 election? He's had 4 years to prepare, dig for facts, and get the right people in place. If he had won in 2020, it would have been 4 more years of the same garbage, and probably not much accomplished. But we, and the world, got to see true incompetence and corruption, and most people were ready for a change (even if they won't admit it)

In 2025, that's not crazy at all... lol

We sure learned a lot, and God has brought us through so much so far.

There's still people in bubbles though, and hopefully they are finding useful things to do with their lives... and have a walk with Jesus to guide them.

Meanwhile, I think that it's a balance between exposure and what people can deal with, and between risking people who are awake going back to sleep (or wearing them out with endless seeming rugpulls), some people getting so wrapped up in the battle and not seeing the people around them, and risking that others will live their entire lives without ever really knowing the truth, or The Truth, The Way, and The Light.

Blessings, Robyn Welch!

I don't know how one can defame Eric Coomer (with malice) since he has done a pretty good job of setting himself up for disparaging remarks by the things he's done.

So I saw a video on X this weekend, two women talking, one with a scratchy voice. And she was talking about how the politicians send their children to private school while demanding the hoi polloi belong in government funded schools. Anyway, she claims that the CCP bought the elite school system (Stanford?) that the politicians send their children to and they provide the curriculum they are educated with. So our "future leaders" are being taught by the CCP. I don't know if any of this is true and I don't know how to find the video. I did a couple of searches and it doesn't come up.
