Guys, I have to share something or I’m going to bust. A few months ago, I felt led to send one of my books to Gov. Sanders of Arkansas. I included a note thanking her for her stand for Christ and for being a light in the often dark world of politics. This week I received a letter with a personal thank you note from her. It was such a sweet blessing from God.

Churches where I am seem interested in adding to the congregation (but not discipling anyone new) and performance-type music. It seems to appeal to a lot of people. I'm a huge music follower and contemporary (most) Christian music is great but it doesn't have to be hugely loud and repetitive....
Totally agree. Music has the potential of being majestic and reverential. What passes for music in the churches today is reflecting the lowest common denominator in the culture rather than leading the culture.

For those who have been lead to believe that Satan is the ruler of this world and that Christ must come a second time to establish His kingdom, I would point out that Christ established His kingdom with His Ascension and Glorification as King of kings and Lord of lords 2,000 years ago when He sat down on His Throne at the right hand of the Father to rule and reign without end. Upon His Ascension, Satan lost standing in God's court and fell to earth like lightning who is now nothing more than a squatter waiting to be evicted by the Body of Christ. Christ poured out the Holy Spirit to inhabit His Body on earth, the Anointed Ones, and commissioned His Body to go forth in the full armor of God to do battle against Satan and the world systems who "set themselves and take counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed." Christ now rules as King from His Throne on God's holy hill of Zion whose rule will be without end. And in that we can find assurance and confidence. My beef with so many Christians is that they think they don't have to do anything except pray. Get your righteous little bums down to the voting booth! Not a stat. Personal experience from attending hundreds of gatherings over the years. IF all the Christians who COULD vote WERE voting, there is no way the country would be in such a mess. The closeness of so many elections is a sure tell that too many people are at home instead of at the polls, given the overwhelming number of folks who answer surveys claiming to be Christians of some flavor or another. I have heard dozens and dozens of Christians over the years say they don't vote when they can't find a candidate who passes their holiness test. They don't understand that when they don't vote for the lesser of two evils, they are not being neutral. I stand behind my assertion that there is a disturbing lack of participation on the part of American Christians in our duty to vote. My interpretation of "don't hide your light" vis-a-vis our American citizenship is that we should always make a choice at the booth. There is no neutral ground. Failure to vote is a choice to let evil go forward. Satan's minions are highly motivated.
You're entitled to your opinion. I cannot discern an advantage to generalizing about all Christian non-voters. There could be 82 million reasons.
Only 52% of the entire U.S. population votes, so the people staying home is not limited to Christians.
That said, here are some legitimate public stats to shine a light on this:
- Pew's validated-voter data found religiously affiliated Americans had 51% turnout in the 2022 midterms, compared with 39% among the religiously unaffiliated.
- Historically, Barna found 2016 presidential turnout of 61% among evangelicals, 58% among other born-again Christians, and 59% among other self-identified Christians.
- In 2024, PRRI found white evangelical Protestants, white mainline Protestants, and white Catholics were actually overrepresented among voters compared with non-voters.
You just made my point even better than I did. 39% of Evangelicals stayed home, 42% of "other born-again" sat out, and 41% of "other Christian" couldn't be bothered. That is a HUGE number of missing votes. I rest my case.
Be very wary of Statistics. So-called surveys can be manipulated in many ways, from the wording of the Questions to the interpretation of the results. As a Social Scientist, I know how unreliable they can be.
61% of evangelicals voted. That is a majority, and it exceeds the rate of the general population. Is the expectation here that 62-100% of Christian should vote? What about the rest of the country?

I think a lot of pastors don’t want to offend, and that’s why they remain silent. I love my pastor, even though he doesn’t get into politics in a public setting. That’s what small groups are for. 😉

I think you just hit the nail on the head. Jesus was never afraid to offend with the truth. Pastors, being humans, of course they would rather be liked by everyone. And therein lies the problem. But they will have to answer at the pealy gates for shrinking back instead of being bold. Also, many pastors are sadly uninformed about what they can actually say from the pulpit, which is legally a lot more than most of them are willing to say. The lefty lawyers have been brutally effective at scaring pastors into silence.

He has no qualms standing up for what is right - whether Biblical or political. He sees the world through a Godly lens - something I’m working on, myself.
I’ve seen him stand on the court steps to defend parents’ rights (crazy CA bill AB 495 - which would give any human being who showed up with a signed piece of paper to pick up your kid at school and other locales).
Another pastor is Gary Hamrick in Leesburg, VA, who hosts people like Riley Gains.
Allen Jackson is another, in Kentucky. Great podcasts.

I am also a big advocate of those three pastors! Pastor Jack is my "online pastor" every Sunday morning and every Wednesday night... and those midweek lessons are extraordinary! He is much more relaxed and includes many more personal observations that enrich the studies as he also provides scripture to back up everything he teaches, as always. I have learned much more about America from him too. He is an excellent source for American History, Civics, Current Events, and more. Right now he is teaching from Proverbs on Sundays and spiritual evidences (including demons) on Wednesdays. At my age (78), I am so looking forward to meeting my Savior, Messiah, Yeshua .... Jesus. Pastor Jack preaches that it will be very soon!

It gives me a fresh perspective instead of very familiar words which are then easy to gloss over because I have heard or read them so many times before...
I can appreciate that having read The Living Bible to my daughter when she was very young.
But recently I found changes to the words used in a version I used to respect, and while it sounded nice it actually changed the meaning quite a bit. Comfort of read should never supersede accuracy of translation.
And don’t get me started on changing the “women/woman” and “men/man” he/she his/her pronouns, etc. It was infuriating because that definitely changed the meaning behind what God was instructing. They went full on woke. Thankfully I bought that version that was printed in 1990 with the proper English terms so I can still use it comfortably if I ever need a more relaxed language that doesn’t fiddle with and meaning, but I no longer recommend that version because new prints are not accurate.

One of my grandsons prepares a Bible jeopardy game for our huge family gatherings. (We number close to 30 now). He always throws in a few Pidgin quotes for a real challenge.
If you read the information about the FNV - you would find out that it is a real Bible translation from the original text by Bible scholars. I was recommended it by a guy at our church who works for Whitcliffe Bible Translators. It is not 'an easy read' - quite often you really have to think about why they translated a familiar verse the way they did.
I read KJV, NKJV, NIV, ESV, Good News, The Message, The Amplified as well as FNV. My mum also has an ancient version of the Living Bible :-)
Seeing the way that the First Nations folk have a description rather than just a short name also brings some enlightenment at times - one of my favourites is 'Son of his father' for Barabus... having thought about it Abba - father and Simon bar Jonah - Simon son of Jonah - you can see how it fits. The Democrats can file lawsuits and request injunctions to try to strike down laws passed by Congress, too. So passing the Save Act wouldn’t settle the matter. The Supreme Court will end up having to hold that the Save Act is constitutional before Democrats will follow it.
Elections have been stolen in so many ways and have to be cleaned up on many different levels. The key is to make the public aware of the many different ways they have been stolen from us. The fight over the SAVE Act is awakening many to one of these ways.

Texans are not a monolith, I hate to inform you. Like most states, there is an extreme liberal bunch that lives in the cities (cities seem to attract liberals). So you got that bunch, who will automatically vote for Talarico, no matter what idiotic things he says he believes in. Then there are those in the middle, many of whom enjoy visiting the Rio Grande, especially around Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Since I live here, I get to hear their complaints about the foolishness of building a wall through a national park where few illegals cross. Did not take a poll, but it seems a risk not worth taking by Trump to do this, when the Senate hangs in the balance at the mid-terms.
I get the sense from comments here to my original observations there's a lot of people who just blindly believe whatever Trump comes up with. Some of it just seems counter-productive, like antagonizing both Mexico and Canada. Some of it just seems a waste of money, like the Iran Invasion (by the guy who campaigned on No Forever Wars), or the Wall through a location where there is no big illegal immigration problem. Sorry, I never believed election integrity rules would make it in time. So all those blue states elections will be tainted for 2026. If congress flips to blue, forget the Save Act and watch the next two years of impeachment and 100% blockage of Trump’s agenda. Dang it!
So here in CA we ALL get mailed ballots. Didn’t used to be that way. If you sign up for alerts you get a notification when it’s being sent to you. If we choose to return by mail we receive notifications when it has been counted. Is this unique to CA? Is this what will now be required to happen in all states? Do other states automatically mail ballots to every voter? One aspect is if you want to vote in person you must bring your mail ballot and exchange it for a new paper or iPad/screen ballot and if you fail to bring your mail ballot to the polling place, your in-person vote is only provisional. Meaning only counted if it’s close. Here in Berzerkely as a republican, we have taxation without representation so at the end of the day our votes aren’t ever close so there’s that. But it would be nice to not have a vote be provisional. Last time we voted in person my husband tried to show his ID and the poll worker had a fearful reaction “I did not ask you for that!” Because she knew it’s against the law to do so.
Update: okay so far from your replies I see TN, GA, TX, and Alabama don’t do universal mailed ballots. IL has opt in. And WA is like CA. Curious to hear from more commenters / other states.
I live in Tennessee. We are not mailed ballots unless requested. And we are asked for our ID every single time we vote. We do have a period of early voting. But all in person.
I vote in “every” mid-term and presidential election, and they “always” ask for my ID and my signature… in Texas.
And they look at my signature to see if it matches my ID signature. One woman even commented on the fact that in my ID photo I had long hair, yet now it was very short, so she gave me the once-over look, and decided I was indeed the person on the ID. That was on the last presidential election.
Victor Davis Hanson, a Californian, has said in his podcast that every year he still receives multiple ballots for himself and his children. He's tried to fix it, to no avail. California has perfected cheating.
You receive notification that something has been counted, but the truth of the matter is that you have no proof whatsoever that your ballot, which you filled out was counted or that some other ballot replaced your ballot and was counted instead, and they will never let you look. There is ample technology that they could provide a voter with the ability to log into a secure website and review an image of the ballot to confirm that it was indeed your ballot they counted. So why don't they do that? The answer to that is obvious.
Lets get to the real point. Mail in balloting was implemented to steal elections. Until we stop this process we will have stolen elections. Trump's great admin is doing everything possible to stop the process which allows stolen elections. But those who steal elections put corrupt judges like this cretin to prevent stopping the manipulation.
I have had this exact doubt - “just exactly how do I know they counted my ballot?!”
Are you familiar with USPS “Informed Delivery” system? It sends me an email every day with a photo of every piece of mail coming to me a day before it lands in my mailbox. Would be entirely doable to do this for ballots.
You and people like you must coalesce and force change in CA or you will forever be dominated by stolen elections and the rotten, corrupt, evil people they put in power over you. You must not accept mail in balloting even though you are forced to submit your ballot this way now. It must become unacceptable and voting at local precincts on paper, hand counted at the precinct and reported by secure courier is the only process which you should accept as legitimate. Yes, they have stolen your vote, yes, it will be extremely difficult to get your vote back, but this is really the hill you must die on because everything else is a result of your stolen vote.
So how do you do it? Do a County Citizens Initiative to restore your voting IAW the Constitution, paper ballots, one day (1st Tuesday following the first Monday in the month of November) at local precincts, counted at the precinct and reported by secure courier, no electronic machines, very very limited mail in ballots. Elections are held at County level for a reason, but they want you to believe states run elections which is true but only true if the citizens in the individual counties let them. You can stop it with a Citizens Initiative in your county and if you win, the county MUST implement and the State cannot undo it. Once you win in your County, other Counties will follow. You should do it in the reddest county you have as the first one, you must be a registered voter in the county. The hardest part is getting the signatures of probably 15% of the electorate to support the initiative. And having an honest lawyer (I know that's a stretch but there is probably one) on hand to make sure all the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted.
I live outside Chicago. We were mailed applications for mail in ballots on August 3 without requesting it. So, if I do it for this election, it will automatically be interpreted to mean all future elections too. There’s no option to fill this out for the current ejection only. This is a permanent application to vote by mail.

That’s how CA used to be. It used to be you had to opt in to mailed ballots (called absentee ballots back then), and you could change your mind and revert to in person and they stopped mailing the ballots (in theory). Now it’s automatic universal mailed ballots and you can’t opt out.
True! And I’m old enough to remember the time before all this nonsense when you went to the polls, showed your ID, signed the voting register and voted! Ahhh, longing for the return of that sensibility!
I laugh every time some clown on LinkedIn tries to claim there is no ballot fraud in California. The system is designed to be fraudulent and so well designed that the fraud cannot be tracked. I wish there was a way to break that State into at least 3 separate states. It has WAY too much power in Congress!

Just today an old post recirculating about what local hospitals around me did to deny IVM to a dying patient (and who were ordered by the courts to step aside so the doctor could administer it - AND it saved his life,) had SEVERAL current replies ridiculing the author as spreading lies and conspiracies (never mind the actual proof it linked to,) and stating that tests have proven IVM is ineffective. 🙄🤦🏼♀️ After all that’s been exposed. That’s activism paid for by Big Pharma to dampen the momentum.
In Hawaii we now all get mail-in ballots automatically for primaries and general elections. This past primary cycle, we received the ballot for a former renter who no longer lives here. We could have easily filled out and mailed in the ballot.

Churches where I am seem interested in adding to the congregation (but not discipling anyone new) and performance-type music. It seems to appeal to a lot of people. I'm a huge music follower and contemporary (most) Christian music is great but it doesn't have to be hugely loud and repetitive....
"Contemporary" worship music impresses me more as a mantra than the classical hymns of our forefathers which were rich in word and melody.
And the instruments themselves and electronic amplification (often), not particularly reverence-invoking. (In my experience.)
Totally agree. Music has the potential of being majestic and reverential. What passes for music in the churches today is reflecting the lowest common denominator in the culture rather than leading the culture.

For those who have been lead to believe that Satan is the ruler of this world and that Christ must come a second time to establish His kingdom, I would point out that Christ established His kingdom with His Ascension and Glorification as King of kings and Lord of lords 2,000 years ago when He sat down on His Throne at the right hand of the Father to rule and reign without end. Upon His Ascension, Satan lost standing in God's court and fell to earth like lightning who is now nothing more than a squatter waiting to be evicted by the Body of Christ. Christ poured out the Holy Spirit to inhabit His Body on earth, the Anointed Ones, and commissioned His Body to go forth in the full armor of God to do battle against Satan and the world systems who "set themselves and take counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed." Christ now rules as King from His Throne on God's holy hill of Zion whose rule will be without end. And in that we can find assurance and confidence. Do not be mislead by false gospels of zionism and racial exceptionalism. God's children have always been those who believe in His Son, the Messiah.

Not a stat. Personal experience from attending hundreds of gatherings over the years. IF all the Christians who COULD vote WERE voting, there is no way the country would be in such a mess. The closeness of so many elections is a sure tell that too many people are at home instead of at the polls, given the overwhelming number of folks who answer surveys claiming to be Christians of some flavor or another. I have heard dozens and dozens of Christians over the years say they don't vote when they can't find a candidate who passes their holiness test. They don't understand that when they don't vote for the lesser of two evils, they are not being neutral. I stand behind my assertion that there is a disturbing lack of participation on the part of American Christians in our duty to vote. My interpretation of "don't hide your light" vis-a-vis our American citizenship is that we should always make a choice at the booth. There is no neutral ground. Failure to vote is a choice to let evil go forward. Satan's minions are highly motivated.
You're entitled to your opinion. I cannot discern an advantage to generalizing about all Christian non-voters. There could be 82 million reasons.
Only 52% of the entire U.S. population votes, so the people staying home is not limited to Christians.
That said, here are some legitimate public stats to shine a light on this:
- Pew's validated-voter data found religiously affiliated Americans had 51% turnout in the 2022 midterms, compared with 39% among the religiously unaffiliated.
- Historically, Barna found 2016 presidential turnout of 61% among evangelicals, 58% among other born-again Christians, and 59% among other self-identified Christians.
- In 2024, PRRI found white evangelical Protestants, white mainline Protestants, and white Catholics were actually overrepresented among voters compared with non-voters.
You just made my point even better than I did. 39% of Evangelicals stayed home, 42% of "other born-again" sat out, and 41% of "other Christian" couldn't be bothered. That is a HUGE number of missing votes. I rest my case.
Be very wary of Statistics. So-called surveys can be manipulated in many ways, from the wording of the Questions to the interpretation of the results. As a Social Scientist, I know how unreliable they can be.
61% of evangelicals voted. That is a majority, and it exceeds the rate of the general population. Is the expectation here that 62-100% of Christian should vote? What about the rest of the country?

I think you just hit the nail on the head. Jesus was never afraid to offend with the truth. Pastors, being humans, of course they would rather be liked by everyone. And therein lies the problem. But they will have to answer at the pealy gates for shrinking back instead of being bold. Also, many pastors are sadly uninformed about what they can actually say from the pulpit, which is legally a lot more than most of them are willing to say. The lefty lawyers have been brutally effective at scaring pastors into silence.

He has no qualms standing up for what is right - whether Biblical or political. He sees the world through a Godly lens - something I’m working on, myself.
I’ve seen him stand on the court steps to defend parents’ rights (crazy CA bill AB 495 - which would give any human being who showed up with a signed piece of paper to pick up your kid at school and other locales).
Another pastor is Gary Hamrick in Leesburg, VA, who hosts people like Riley Gains.
Allen Jackson is another, in Kentucky. Great podcasts.

It gives me a fresh perspective instead of very familiar words which are then easy to gloss over because I have heard or read them so many times before...
I can appreciate that having read The Living Bible to my daughter when she was very young.
But recently I found changes to the words used in a version I used to respect, and while it sounded nice it actually changed the meaning quite a bit. Comfort of read should never supersede accuracy of translation.
And don’t get me started on changing the “women/woman” and “men/man” he/she his/her pronouns, etc. It was infuriating because that definitely changed the meaning behind what God was instructing. They went full on woke. Thankfully I bought that version that was printed in 1990 with the proper English terms so I can still use it comfortably if I ever need a more relaxed language that doesn’t fiddle with and meaning, but I no longer recommend that version because new prints are not accurate.

One of my grandsons prepares a Bible jeopardy game for our huge family gatherings. (We number close to 30 now). He always throws in a few Pidgin quotes for a real challenge.
If you read the information about the FNV - you would find out that it is a real Bible translation from the original text by Bible scholars. I was recommended it by a guy at our church who works for Whitcliffe Bible Translators. It is not 'an easy read' - quite often you really have to think about why they translated a familiar verse the way they did.
I read KJV, NKJV, NIV, ESV, Good News, The Message, The Amplified as well as FNV. My mum also has an ancient version of the Living Bible :-)
Seeing the way that the First Nations folk have a description rather than just a short name also brings some enlightenment at times - one of my favourites is 'Son of his father' for Barabus... having thought about it Abba - father and Simon bar Jonah - Simon son of Jonah - you can see how it fits. It also made me chuckle to think he he might in modern parlance be dubbed 'daddy's boy' :-)

The Democrats can file lawsuits and request injunctions to try to strike down laws passed by Congress, too. So passing the Save Act wouldn’t settle the matter. The Supreme Court will end up having to hold that the Save Act is constitutional before Democrats will follow it.
Elections have been stolen in so many ways and have to be cleaned up on many different levels. The key is to make the public aware of the many different ways they have been stolen from us. The fight over the SAVE Act is awakening many to one of these ways.
I'm sure this is a stupid question, but why doesn't SCOTUS do anything about all of this lawfare? Judge shopping. Rogue judges. Unconstitutional national injunctions. I honestly don't know how it works, where SCOTUS is involved, but it seems to me they would be exhausted having to take on so many cases involving Trump over anything & everything. Texans are not a monolith, I hate to inform you. Like most states, there is an extreme liberal bunch that lives in the cities (cities seem to attract liberals). So you got that bunch, who will automatically vote for Talarico, no matter what idiotic things he says he believes in. Then there are those in the middle, many of whom enjoy visiting the Rio Grande, especially around Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Since I live here, I get to hear their complaints about the foolishness of building a wall through a national park where few illegals cross. Did not take a poll, but it seems a risk not worth taking by Trump to do this, when the Senate hangs in the balance at the mid-terms.
I get the sense from comments here to my original observations there's a lot of people who just blindly believe whatever Trump comes up with. Some of it just seems counter-productive, like antagonizing both Mexico and Canada. Some of it just seems a waste of money, like the Iran Invasion (by the guy who campaigned on No Forever Wars), or the Wall through a location where there is no big illegal immigration problem. (Which was supposed to be paid for by Mexico, if I remember correctly). In any case, we're still better off with Republicans and Trump, so I hope we don't lose it to the Democrats.

We'll see. Building a wall where there is no one seems pretty ridiculous, pretty much gives the Rio Grande to Mexico, at great expense. What a lot of people really don't understand is Trump was elected president because of who he ran against (Harris), not because of some great love of Trump, who acts unhinged a lot of the time. There are those who worship him, something that is a mystery to me.

Where did you see me say anything about "coexisting"? I think one does not eliminate an Islamist nation, surrounded by several allies, with pinprick bombing. If the western world wants to eliminate Iran, a full-on military ground and air offensive, assisted by the US's purported allies, is required ... along with some vigorish to keep various regional Arab states from destroying our in-country assets and destroying Israel as well.

Sorry, I never believed election integrity rules would make it in time. So all those blue states elections will be tainted for 2026. If congress flips to blue, forget the Save Act and watch the next two years of impeachment and 100% blockage of Trump’s agenda. Dang it!

So here in CA we ALL get mailed ballots. Didn’t used to be that way. If you sign up for alerts you get a notification when it’s being sent to you. If we choose to return by mail we receive notifications when it has been counted. Is this unique to CA? Is this what will now be required to happen in all states? Do other states automatically mail ballots to every voter? One aspect is if you want to vote in person you must bring your mail ballot and exchange it for a new paper or iPad/screen ballot and if you fail to bring your mail ballot to the polling place, your in-person vote is only provisional. Meaning only counted if it’s close. Here in Berzerkely as a republican, we have taxation without representation so at the end of the day our votes aren’t ever close so there’s that. But it would be nice to not have a vote be provisional. Last time we voted in person my husband tried to show his ID and the poll worker had a fearful reaction “I did not ask you for that!” Because she knew it’s against the law to do so.
Update: okay so far from your replies I see TN, GA, TX, and Alabama don’t do universal mailed ballots. IL has opt in. And WA is like CA. Curious to hear from more commenters / other states.
I live in Tennessee. We are not mailed ballots unless requested. And we are asked for our ID every single time we vote. We do have a period of early voting. But all in person.
Same for Alabama, except we don't have early voting.
Same here in Georgia. I'll never forget voting in NC several years ago when I offered my ID and they refused to look at it.

I vote in “every” mid-term and presidential election, and they “always” ask for my ID and my signature… in Texas.
And they look at my signature to see if it matches my ID signature. One woman even commented on the fact that in my ID photo I had long hair, yet now it was very short, so she gave me the once-over look, and decided I was indeed the person on the ID. That was on the last presidential election.

You receive notification that something has been counted, but the truth of the matter is that you have no proof whatsoever that your ballot, which you filled out was counted or that some other ballot replaced your ballot and was counted instead, and they will never let you look. There is ample technology that they could provide a voter with the ability to log into a secure website and review an image of the ballot to confirm that it was indeed your ballot they counted. So why don't they do that? The answer to that is obvious.
Lets get to the real point. Mail in balloting was implemented to steal elections. Until we stop this process we will have stolen elections. Trump's great admin is doing everything possible to stop the process which allows stolen elections. But those who steal elections put corrupt judges like this cretin to prevent stopping the manipulation.
It is no coincidence that the all-mail ballot states are firmly Democrat.

Are you familiar with USPS “Informed Delivery” system? It sends me an email every day with a photo of every piece of mail coming to me a day before it lands in my mailbox. Would be entirely doable to do this for ballots.
You and people like you must coalesce and force change in CA or you will forever be dominated by stolen elections and the rotten, corrupt, evil people they put in power over you. You must not accept mail in balloting even though you are forced to submit your ballot this way now. It must become unacceptable and voting at local precincts on paper, hand counted at the precinct and reported by secure courier is the only process which you should accept as legitimate. Yes, they have stolen your vote, yes, it will be extremely difficult to get your vote back, but this is really the hill you must die on because everything else is a result of your stolen vote.
So how do you do it? Do a County Citizens Initiative to restore your voting IAW the Constitution, paper ballots, one day (1st Tuesday following the first Monday in the month of November) at local precincts, counted at the precinct and reported by secure courier, no electronic machines, very very limited mail in ballots. Elections are held at County level for a reason, but they want you to believe states run elections which is true but only true if the citizens in the individual counties let them. You can stop it with a Citizens Initiative in your county and if you win, the county MUST implement and the State cannot undo it. Once you win in your County, other Counties will follow. You should do it in the reddest county you have as the first one, you must be a registered voter in the county. The hardest part is getting the signatures of probably 15% of the electorate to support the initiative. And having an honest lawyer (I know that's a stretch but there is probably one) on hand to make sure all the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted.

I live outside Chicago. We were mailed applications for mail in ballots on August 3 without requesting it. In bold at top, in a prominent box, “If you wish to receive Vote by Mail ballots for this election AND ALL FUTURE ELECTIONS, you can be placed on permanent vote by mail status by completing, signing, and mailing or hand delivering the enclosed application to: [my local county clerk office]”
So, if I do it for this election, it will automatically be interpreted to mean all future elections too. There’s no option to fill this out for the current ejection only. This is a permanent application to vote by mail.

That’s how CA used to be. It used to be you had to opt in to mailed ballots (called absentee ballots back then), and you could change your mind and revert to in person and they stopped mailing the ballots (in theory). Now it’s automatic universal mailed ballots and you can’t opt out.

I laugh every time some clown on LinkedIn tries to claim there is no ballot fraud in California. The system is designed to be fraudulent and so well designed that the fraud cannot be tracked. I wish there was a way to break that State into at least 3 separate states. It has WAY too much power in Congress!

Just today an old post recirculating about what local hospitals around me did to deny IVM to a dying patient (and who were ordered by the courts to step aside so the doctor could administer it - AND it saved his life,) had SEVERAL current replies ridiculing the author as spreading lies and conspiracies (never mind the actual proof it linked to,) and stating that tests have proven IVM is ineffective. 🙄🤦🏼♀️ After all that’s been exposed. That’s activism paid for by Big Pharma to dampen the momentum.

In Fl you have to request a mail ballot in advance. If voting in person, ID and signature must be close on the screen to your ID.
In Hawaii we now all get mail-in ballots automatically for primaries and general elections. This past primary cycle, we received the ballot for a former renter who no longer lives here. We could have easily filled out and mailed in the ballot.

WA is all mail-in, with drop boxes also available, which I use. I'm not opposed to the system per se, but unfortunately it leads to cheating.
Even MA doesn't do universal mailed ballots.
They do send everyone a registration to receive mailed ballots, but the in-person voting is still open (and I just utilized it today for our primary).
