The reason for the grocery store nonsense from 2 San Francisco supervisors is because a grocery store has said it is closing which would leave the neighborhood it is in without a grocery store. I believe the city already made a deal with the store to delay closing for awhile. I don't think crime is an issue with that particular store. The Whole Foods market discussed is a different issue.

The supervisors in question are trying to get votes. Peskin is running for mayor and pretty much everyone is fed up with Dean Preston who I believe is up for reelection.

This kind of grandstanding is typical of almost the entire board of supervisors which is one of the reasons why San Francisco is so badly governed.

Well just cause the store has to post signs doesn't mean they have to stock the shelves. The way people steal in CA, if this passes, why bother.

I had the same thought! I’m guessing those who wrote the new ordinance were too stupid to include language about maintaining stock, so the store hires a security guard to sit in the empty store for six months (still a stupid thing to have to do), and then they lock the doors at six months. It gives everyone the opportunity to do the same and in six months, all stores are closed. They just accelerated the exodus.

I hope the stores aren't responsible if their required posted signs get stolen.

I’m going to again recommend the lean into it method. Signs also have pictures, names, contact info, etc of supervisors. Store replaces goods with flyers of BOS wall of shame. All that’s needed is a swift public shaming.

These guys are shameless. What they need is to be tossed out of office. We'd probably get another bunch of idiots though.

The SF board of supervisors is an accurate representation of liberal mentality. 🤣 What a joke. They all need to take at least their 5th booster. Wow!

I have a Lib friend who lives in SF (30+ years.) I used to visit her all the time. SF was such a beautiful city. I could see the decay spreading each year I would visit. I haven't been in years. And right on que, my friend became a rapid Covidian. We used to always be able to avoid discussing politics and keep things light. Then I was call a "F-ing idiot" for supporting Trump. sigh. And now with her being Jab-happy, and always sick, I don't plan to visit ever again.

At least they are being a little honest now, telling people they'll need one every 4 months.

Why not One A Day, like the vitamins?

😆

The sad thing is, if they marketed it that way, there are actually people who would take one every day 😳
