In the very short amount of time I spent in NYC (a few months) I can completely agree that the police would not bother with a drunk in a trash can. In San Francisco, they'd probably install more trash cans for the purpose of giving seating to drunks/druggies/illegals and would fine or arrest anyone who tried to put trash in it.

If that insane grocery thing passes in SF, I think all grocery owners would have to do is stop ordering and stop stocking. It's hard to loot anything when the is nothing to loot. Where do these morons get these ideas? And how exactly does forcing them to stay open another 6 months not still cause the same problem when they do close? Does anyone in SF in any branch of government or authority have a working brain?
Aren’t these the same people alarmed over grocery store deserts—or whatever they called them? Here's a solution: eliminate grocery stores and we’ll stop thinking about them.
"Does anyone in SF in any branch of government or authority have a working brain?" It is really becoming difficult to discern if they are really that stupid or if they are that nefarious and think we are really that stupid. But the video Jeff posted of Atlanta city councilors has me leaning toward "yes, they really are that stupid" today.

Yes they continually display an astonishing lack of logic and an inability to understand the relationship between cause and effect.
