Welcome to SC from another relatively recent escapee from a very blue state. It is so refreshingly free here. I do see the occasional covidiot at the stores or alone in their cars with their masks on, but its not a topic of convo at all like it was back in NJ.

Welcome to you both! Been in SC for all of my adult life. Live in a village on a lake. Our village pretty much blew off covid since our Gov. didn't get all freaked out about it. Nobody wore masks, our 2 eateries/bars stayed open, the general store stayed open. Hardly anyone got vax'd. You'll like it here.
Thank you! I absolutely love it here. I wish my experience had been similar but unfortunately i has been living in NJ at the time where the gov King Murphy followed Cuomo’s lead on everything totalitarian. My kids lost half of their sophomore and all of their junior year to remote achooling. The taxation was slowly pushing me out if NJ but i was used to it. The abuse if executive powers was what motivated me to finally pick up and move here.
You sound like you live in a lovely village in SC. My husband’s family vacationed in SC for many years; what’s the name of your village, we’d love to visit, thank you!
