I hear so many people say I don't have time to follow politics because I have work and family obligations, etc. They just don't realize that is the goal and just like that, before you know it, we have an illegitimate president, all the news is propaganda, we are taxed to death, we are censored, or worse. The powers that be totally took advantage of the fact that most Americans just aren't paying attention.

Yes I am so sick of hearing that too. I have those too. Several of my friends actually bring their kids with them to political things, especially junior high and above, although some of the meetings we set up an activity table in the back for some of the younger ones and no one minds if they get a little noisy from time to time. My son spoke at some city council meetings when he was school aged. My parents took me along to political things growing up too. Granted, I do a lot more now that my kids are grown and gone but even an hour to attend a public meeting on something helps. Spend an evening texting friends reminding them to vote in a local election. Lots of little things!
