Several years ago I read a 3 book fiction series by Matt Bracken, Enemies Foreign and Domestic, where a patsy is set up by ATF, I believe, as a mass shooter in a sports stadium. The event triggers a crackdown on 2A, civil unrest, tyranny, break down of the US. The Trump event shooting made me think of this.

I do think it’s plausible that secret service has been providing lax security on purpose, but the deep state didn’t go so far as to set up a loser to do the shooting. The media and left did their part with the rhetoric about Trump- there are probably hoards of crazy’s out there that think they will save humanity if they assassinate Trump.
I think it's plausible too, maybe security has been like this for countless events and no one noticed it (though that seems hard to believe). You would have thought that someone on Trump's team would have noticed it and done something about it. That's what makes me think this event's security was an anomaly. And I don't mean Trump being protected by overweight 5'2" women that cannot holster a pistol, but that the most obvious sniper perch was completely unguarded.
What I cannot get past is the impeccable timing of this 20 year old loser. As RU mentioned above, that he was groomed over time and egged on to strike at this event is all too believable. Particularly in light of what we know know about the Whitmer fednapping and the deliberate incitement that took place on January 6th.

The statement is incomplete. Add " as the patsy who was never trusted to make the shot" and you are closer.

I also wonder why there has been no interview with the shooter’s dad. An early report stated the AR was his dad’s.
I think there’s a lot going on behind the scenes there. It’s just too quiet from the parents, absolutely.
