My sense of this is that they fully expected their plan would work & President Trump would be murdered.
They did it before he named a VP and right before the convention. OF COURSE they expected him DOA. It would have thrown the country into chaos. Exactly what they wanted.
I can't imagine the heads that exploded in DC when God said "Not today".
