I’m sorry you are offended. I’m offended that out of all this crime of attacking one man out of pure unreasoned hate, you chose to find my truthful comment offensive. And if it’s a family blog here, does that mean children are reading my words? I think not. In fact, ma’am, respectfully, those of us old enough to remember things like the Vietnam lies, are probably the average age here.

Good grief, she makes a simple, respectful comment regarding your use of gratuitous, obscene language, and you try to turn it around as being her fault?

Folks, this is an example of someone using manipulative emotional guilt to try and control someone else. Don't let anyone in your life do this to you. Seeking Grace's comment was entirely reasonable, and Alan's "how dare you" response is a manipulative tactic to try and guilt her into not speaking up. Purge people from your life that behave like this.

C'mon give the guy a break. He apologizes. Are we all going to be Church Ladies from SNL here?

He didn't apologize, an apology would have been, " you are right, that was inappropriate on my part". He did nothing of the sort but said I'm sorry you're offended.

So he isn't sorry, but regrets that prudes like Seeking Grace took offense. That's known in politics as a non-apology apology. (Not saying Seeking Grace is a prude but that's the implication.)

I’m trying to blame her? Sorry, just pointing out the absurdity of language police and their need to be unoffended, my word. Sometimes, Jeff, the gratuitous obscenity is the easiest, shortest distance to a point. I wasn’t trying to beat up on her, and if that’s the way it appears, for that I am sorry.

Alan, your response was in bad faith. She didn't say anything about your language being worse than other stuff going on in the world. Yet you put words in her mouth implying just that when saying this is what she chose to get offended over. Her commenting on decorum does not mean she approves of evil.

This is a tried and true tactic of manipulators. They use this to stifle speech and control others by inducing guilt. The implication being that one is not allowed to criticize anything when there's other stuff going on. Look around, it's everywhere.

Thanks for your response and I appreciate your candor and I apologize myself as my response to you was too harsh.

I didn’t say you were untruthful, but don’t you think β€œporn actress” is sufficient? We all know what that means. No need for specifics, but you know that. Peace.

I'm old. I know what goes on without painting a word picture. It feels the same as seeing a naked lady tattoo on a man's bicep in church. I know it's an extreme comparison but i am trying to keep my mind swept if not clean.

You and me both, brother. I appreciate how well you took the rebuke. That shows a strength of character that many lack.

Agree. Alan often has very insightful comments. He's a fine man.

He deleted this one to his credit.

I just can't stand the piling on after all of us we're treated like pariahs for two years.

Plank in the eye....and all that...
