Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

The last verse of the book of Esther describes Mordecai as “one who sought the good of his people and one who spoke for the welfare of his whole nation.” These words remind me of Jeff and make me grateful for all those whom the Lord has raised up for such a time as this.

I hesitate to offer, but if interested, I am about to conclude a sermon series on Esther which calls us to be cognizant of our individual responsibility to live accordingly. It is thoroughly biblical, and unafraid to tangle with current world affairs. You may find it at Grace4Aledo.org.

My CHEEKS hurt from smiling so hard through this latest stack - oh how glorious. And Musk pointed out that some of the NPR heads make $500,000 per year!!!!!! For 40 years I've been PRAYING that we strip the millions of our hard earned tax dollars used to fund NPR and their horrible propaganda to groom the younger generation into America hating liberals - I was one of those misguided people and I still bristle with disgust when I accidentally land on NPR when surfing the radio.

We have wonderful examples to show the way now.

As pedophiles seek jobs working with kids, so too do criminal-grifters seek governmental jobs or affiliations grants and policies to gain access power, enrichment, and privilege. The extra bonus of shielding one's criminal actions behind "Governmental Immunity!" makes this even more pronounced and open for widespread heinous abuse for the Political Criminal Cartel Community. Not "immunity" but higher standards and MORE SEVERE consequences are in order (if we truly were a nation of laws and honest weights and measures).

Donna in MO's avatar

Here's the conundrum though: Homan: 'I don't put a price on Laken Riley's life ... I don't put a price on our national security.' Seeing quite a few posts where there are some big ticket spending things - like Trump ordering expedited road repairs in NC including private bridges (saw one post where a single bridge to cross the river to get to a home was going to be $300K and the person's insurance would not cover that - their home was spared, it was high enough up the hill, but they could not afford a new bridge) How many private bridges are there? Then this Iron Dome thing. There are lots of new ideas that cost big $ so this swamp draining savings had better pay for it. I am loving all of this winning, but I am still a fiscal hawk and Trump is not, at least he was not concerned about the deficit in his first term and not sure he cares about it now.

LMWC's avatar

I have been following WNC since the “hurricane” and flooding wiped it out. There was then and still is much we don’t know. I follow a site called “Precision Grading” located in the area who has been taking his excavation business and building bridges and repairing driveways and roads to people’s homes. He documents every day. And has been doing the work by donations. WNC is an example of people helping each other do the forgotten work. I think the excavator’s name is Jason Jarvis or Jared Jarvis.

Kitkat's avatar

Thanks for the heads up on these guys. I've been following Mountain Mule Packer Ranch, and Mark Huneycutt (who post lots of updates and videos). For those asking about donations for Precision Grading, I copied this from their FB page:

I’m still getting asked what the business address is so I figured I’d post it again. I absolutely love all the letters and cards you all send!!

Once again thank y’all. Your generous donations are the only reason we are still able to operate and help the way we are!!

I’ve already received numerous cards and thank you letters. They all just make me want to do more and push harder to help. Thank you so so much ❤️

LMWC's avatar

Yes, that’s him! Thanks for the links and addresses.

I have a friend in WNC, not far from Franklin. They weren’t affected by the flooding, but she said, no one there had a good word to say about FEMA.

Donna in MO's avatar

Yes, I follow Precision Grading - doing God's work! Yeah, he has a crew, but still the need is great. In an ideal world, he could get FEMA money IF they are going to start tossing it out - he knows the terrain, he's efficient as one can be given the challenges, and he CARES about the people he is serving. The $300K number I saw was on an X post, and ya never know if what you see in random posts is true - but with this massive destruction the fix is not going to be cheap - I am all for spending the money but a blank check IS an invitation to all the grifters and corrupt politicians to skim off and waste a lot of it. So I hope there is good oversight as these projects get done!

Juju's avatar

Yes! Jake Jarvis. Love those vids

Kathy McCullough's avatar

Donna, Trump will break some eggs. $300K bridges won’t touch what the last administration has done. We will never get back the trillions they spent. I say let him make some mistakes to drain the swamp.

Politico Phil's avatar

Exactly. Literally, peanuts to TRILLIONS... a lot of which was spent in efforts to destroy America such as federally funding all the NGOs that organize and fund the invasion across our border. Or sending unaccountable hundreds of billions to the giant money-laundering fund called Ukraine resulting in millions of human beings killed.

Trump has never been a fiscal conservative and I don't expect that to change but at least he is not trying to destroy America. Just the opposite.

Bones's avatar

I say we suspend judgment on anything that gives us a moments concern and wait a few months. By then it should be clear if any mistakes were made if it is clear, I’m sure he’ll be willing to hear correction

Renea Buchholz's avatar

I agree. With all the activity there will be broken eggs. no way around it.

Jay Horton's avatar

I'm hoping it will put some money back in my pocket as a result of changes to the taxing structure etc.... but, as someone said, Trump is no fiscal conservative. Likely, money will be appropriated into other areas. Remember during his 45 tenure, he added ~$8 Trillion to the debt:

"During Donald Trump’s whole presidency, the U.S. national debt increased by $8.18 trillion, a percentage increase of 40.43%. This is less than Barack Obama (69.98%) and George W. Bush (105.8%). However, Donald Trump was in office for only 4 years compared to 8 years for both Barack Obama and George W. Bush."

also, before you get your panties in a wad:

https://www.crfb.org/papers/trump-and-biden-national-debt

All this feels good but the road to hell is paved...... For now, I'll take the feel good part.

daverkb's avatar

The key statement from Trump recently was that he is more immediately concerned about maintaining the ability to roll over the US Treasury debt than paring it down. And so, the inference by actions seen is that 'they' want to 'grow' their way out of the mess. Maintain cash inflows into the United States. And pare down the debt over time, and this could be in whole or in large part an act of relativism in relationship to depreciated dollar. But also, to maintain the dollar, the depreciation of dollars has to be done so by the slight of hand of 'low inflation'. And so, in some sense it is more of the same unless the US government is seen to shrink both its size and scope of powers. Right now, all we can do is watch what 'they' do with the restructure, including fiscal and monetary restructure.

I did vote for Trump out of necessity, the necessity not wanting to further suffer under the greater Evil of Kamala and Company. But I did so with open eyes. I did so realizing that MAGA is not a genuine 1776 Liberty movement, except vicariously (and yes, vicariously in our times counts, and counts a lot). I also well understand that MAGA and Force Trump operates within the same structuring which brought about the American disasters of the 21st century. And so, I voted Trump not for perfection, by for mitigation, limited redress and for restructure ... and I am glad I did.

If we want more than what we are getting, even with vast improvements, then we must better education ourselves to better insistences, better demands without which we refuse to comply. This is what those who stood under the Tree of Liberty in Boston did so long ago. In the meantime, we make do with application of our best judgment.

There are always 'conundrums' so to speak. And if there weren't, we'd have little use for a faculty of good judicious judgment.

Donna in MO's avatar

"unless the US government is seen to shrink both its size and scope of powers" - YES that is why I voted for Trump. At this point just have to trust the process and hope he gets it done. Like Jeff said, Trump 1.0 was foiled by these people and so he is very motivated to ensure it doesn't happen this time.

daverkb's avatar

I really think that Trump 1.0 was the Beta run. The Horrors of Biden the season of discontent setting the table for the feast yet to come, and very necessary to realign the mood and temper of the country to the point that Trump can do what he is now doing. I also say, pragmatically speaking, that Trump is what the American people deserve, maybe even more than what we deserve. Possibly?

In old age I say, it is what it is. And a lot of us, for now, are feeling considerable relief.

DEBORAH E. dds's avatar

John's avatar

I can see the potential for some very expensive rebuilding and rerouting of roads and Bridges there. Some of the creeks became rivers cutting down and very wide through bends and that is something that is a thousand years flood damage in many places. I used to do dirt work and prep for bridges in rivers. Nothing about that is cheap and that was 30 years ago. The fuel is triple equipment more than that and the wages are up there too. I can see what was a $20,000 creek crossing bridge 30 years ago is now ten times that. Would not surprise me at all.

This should be geared towards those who are not retirement eligible. Make those who are retirement eligible to justify their continued employment… if they are a hard worker, it will be no problem.

Kathleen Janoski's avatar

I believe he can be recalled back to active duty and face charges for treason under the UCMJ.

TimeIsNear's avatar

Yes, a soldier can be called back to duty to be tried under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). The UCMJ applies to active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members on active duty or inactive duty training, and certain military retirees. If a soldier is retired but still receiving some form of military pay, they can be subject to the UCMJ and potentially called back to face charges. Source https://www.tullylegal.com/resources/articles/can-you-be-charged-under-the-ucmj-after-discharge/

Stacy's avatar

Very helpful, thanks for the info! He’s been out less than a decade, which is the timeframe set post-retirement for Inactive Ready Reserve status among enlisted members. I’m not sure how long it applies to officers.

TimeIsNear's avatar

From my understanding while I was in for two enlistments, the UCMJ can pull anyone back to be questioned or tried. I still have to be cautious of specific things that I know since I had a TS/SCI/TK clearance. They take national security seriously. Well, you wouldn't think with everything we've seen. For instance, when Hillary was caught with SAP documents, I sure as hell thought she was going down. But nothing happened. I've seen regular people get jacked up at gun point for making an honest mistake. If they want, they can get him if they want. He still drawing a pension even though his clearance has been revoked. "Want to know the main reason why conservatives have zero sympathy for pajama-wearing federal workers being ordered back to the office five days a week?"

I have a theory: people who were told they were not essential in 2020 don't mind if people who have jobs that are actually not essential lose those jobs, which they are hoping is where this is leading — revealing which jobs are unnecessary. It's nothing against the people in those jobs per se; it's just that the jobs themselves should not exist.

SB's avatar

I think the last 4 years have also made people realize that a lot of those government jobs are NOT essential and are tired of paying higher and higher taxes to fund their useless work product. As one example, my husband recently passed away. After waiting for at least 2 hours for social security to call me back to setup a phone appointment, they can't talk to me until March 5th (I called the second week of January). That is MY money because it was my husband's money but yet when I turn 60 I have to choose whether or not I get his SS money or my SS money? NO! It is all my money, we paid it into the system even tho we didn't want to. I would've happily put that money somewhere it would ALL be my money and probably worth 100 times more than what it is now. People are SICK and TIRED of crap like this!!!!! I am fortunate to not be hurting for money but I have thought every day since I made the appointment about widows who don't have money and really need that money and they have to wait 2 months to even talk to someone about getting the money and then I bet it is at least another 2 months before they ever see it. Contrast that with my financial broker, I could pick up the phone and call him right now and say "I need $5k" and I'd have it in 48 hours. People are DONE with government for good reason!

Karmy's avatar

SB my condolences on the loss of your husband. The SS debacle only adds to your stress. I pray for a quick resolution to the SS issue and that Our Lord comforts you.

Susan G's avatar

I've been thinking about them, too. My husband lost his job in 2018. He was 70. The next day we went to a local Social Security office, and after a wait (1 1/2 hours) filed for retirement and Part B Medicare (he had Part A since age 65 as required by law). We did not need the funds immediately. You do have to wait 2 months, which is why I applied in June for August. Four months is unconscionable. This must end.

Tom's avatar

Sorry for your loss, SB.

RunningLogic's avatar

Very sorry for your loss 😞

And I agree, people are sick and tired of all this!!!

Deb's avatar

My husband died almost 16 years ago ( he was 61 and I was 54) and I still had a kid in college 20 years old). I was given the standard $255 death benefit and that was it! I was told that I made too much money and therefore was not eligible for my husband's SS. We paid it in and then could not receive any compensation! Horrible!

Barbara Moser, RNC's avatar

Omg. That is horrible. It shouldn’t matter how much you make. It’s your money. 💰

Karen Bandy's avatar

I’m sorry for your loss ❤️

You’re right, if both parties paid into SS their whole working careers why shouldn’t they be entitled to both? Where does the extra money go when one dies? Poof, it’s gone, the feds get it? I laugh because where did it go anyway? They keep saying the pot is almost empty. Bush the 2nd, borrowed a lot of it. Where did the rest go? Sorry, here I am ranting, that’s not going to help your frustration.

MayBella82's avatar

I believe the reason the blue states had so many of their elderly die was that they had a chance to get them off their SS rolls. I pray this not true but the way they put people with COVID into the areas with the elderly, what else was going to happen. I remember being so mad when I would hear about another retirement home losing a lot of their elderly… and they were all in blue states. Pure evil.

Lorita's avatar

I have to deal with SS and Medicare also; I think they have weaponized Medicare in my experience. They impede us from getting the good help we need and for those most vulnerable just keep $charging on$.

I think Social Security and Medicare need to be seriously audited for fraud (theirs) and drained of those that participated in delaying outcomes or withholding services.

Karen Bandy's avatar

I agree. They make it especially hard to get counseling help. Counselors don’t get reimbursed much by Medicare, so counselors ‘allow’ us to pay out of pocket at more than twice as much as they’d make if they billed Medicare. They wouldn’t even do that a few years ago, now they have the feds blessing to let us pay out of pocket.

There’s a huge care gap in our demographic.

Many of us are struggling to take care of aging parents, and now, post jab, dealing with family and friend deaths and illnesses.

daverkb's avatar

The bottom line is this for me, and maybe most of us here. That is, we always knew that 'they' in the captive government were using 'our' money to do us in, to wage war against us, and against our welfare, our families, our very basic true self-interests ... even including the right to life.

And this has been a intolerable galling fact beyond question for many, many decades.

L1's avatar

I’m sorry for your loss and you are so right!

I am not your Other's avatar

I’m no expert but I have heard you can apply online and get SS benefits coming in next month. I also have heard it’s best to take your spouse’s SS now and switch to yours later. But the benefit amounts might change that answer. Best to you.

SB's avatar

Yes, there are many things you can do online if you can figure out how. Getting the one-time death benefit for some reason is not one of them. I mean, they know he's gone, my bank told me that social security had already notified them so it makes no sense (and the bank still requires a death certificate from me, argh). Also, they already switched my daughter's (under 18) benefit from his disability to survivor (it's already in the bank) so clearly they know and they have to clearly know I'm his surviving spouse so why the heck I have to have an appointment to actually speak to them is nuts. THEY ALREADY KNOW, just send the dang check! But yet, they're understaffed and months behind? Silly me, I was expecting a few thousand but someone on here posted they got a measly $255 so it's probably going to end up not being worth the trouble. But still IT'S MY MONEY! And the fact that I have to wait until I'm 60?! IT'S MY FREAKING MONEY! Let's just say that our government is NOT KIND TO WIDOWS, AT ALL! Oh so sorry for your loss, too bad and good luck, here's a measly $255 that you had to jump thru all kinds of hoops to get and oh, yea, we don't care that you've spent the last 6 months as his caretaker because he couldn't be left alone and could barely walk, nor do we care he's paid into social security since he was 16, so sorry, good luck!

So very sorry for the loss of your husband.

PEL's avatar

During Covid they actually told us their jobs were not essential. Teachers did that too.

Renee Marie's avatar

Actually Tonya, MANY people lost their jobs. I was one of them. I refused CONvid compliance, and I was sent home after 23 years, although I don’t work for the government.

Trump decided who was “essential”, and “non-essential”. He then implemented the PPP-Payroll Protection Plan…a huge money grift, with fraud. Many people were denied funds they needed!

People forget what actually went on: Operation Warp Speed, and the Prep Act…

When will THAT be acknowledged?

Tonya's avatar

I know. You're right. It wasn't just the Deep State or the Democrats. It was something even bigger. And all the people in Congress who voted for all the massive covid spending are complicit.

Jeff C's avatar

Jeff Chiders wrote: "The truth was the proposed freeze —now halted by a Delaware judge— would only affect non-profits and NGOs."

I think that sentence is very premature. As far as I know, the administration has not halted anything, nor have they acknowledged the judge's authority to issue nationwide binding orders to do so.

The next few days will be make or break for the administration. If any podunk left-wing judge can over turn any aspect of Trump's agenda it will be killed in the cradle. They know this and I'm sure they've thought through some sort of strategy, and that strategy is not simply "yes ma'am, your honor". If not they are completely incompetent and so far they have shown they are anything but.

Margaret Miller's avatar

I was wondering about this as well. Why should one silly judge be able to block the mandate of POTUS!?

Belling the Cat's avatar

This is not a new move, which makes me hopeful and kinda confident Trump is ready to nuke it from orbit. Excited for greater tsunamis of liberal tears in 3, 2, 1...!

Hoffmeister's avatar

Is there a legal argument to be made that lower federal courts do not have jurisdiction for Executive or Legislative ( level of? ) actions...? we may find out soon

taxpayer's avatar

Somebody has to determine whether it is lawful. If not "one silly judge," then who?

Belling the Cat's avatar

The Supreme Court of the United States has been pushing back the excessive use of national injunctions issued from a single lower court for some time now, and has started to get quite annoyed with those that keep doing it. Watch for this fight to get to their desks sooner rather than later, and for this practice to get slapped back & shut down pretty hard.

Hoffmeister's avatar

one greater judge? Other words, Supremes on certain levels of Executive or Legislative actions

Margaret Miller's avatar

Congress or the Supreme Court

Wendy Lemmel's avatar

Lawfare is continuing.

Peter Schott's avatar

I've seen a lot of "just ignore the judge like Biden did" advice, but I'm hoping they have something a lot more powerful than that to send a strong message. We'll see what happens, but it should be interesting.

WP William's avatar

The Lone Judge can only delay for a few weeks maybe; this should immediately go to a panel of Judges at District level. Still, the groomed Progressivist Swamp State Activist Judges should also face real and regular Judicial Review and threat of Recall, perhaps impeachment as well if warranted.

All means and manner of pressure must be imposed upon the Conspiracists against Impartial and Natural Law and the Legal system who've set out to dilute, demean, adulterate, and disparage Constitutional INTENT in order to support Neo-Socialist hijacking and defense of the twisted system that they advance to further control of the everyday function of American society.

TimeIsNear's avatar

I have a strong feeling they're going to go after the judges soon.

We have a separation of powers for a reason. But if one power can continuously and maliciously block the power that has been specifically designated to another power, it’s no longer separate.

Whatsit Tooya's avatar

iirc, the current halt is just an administrative stay until Monday, because the court wants clarification on exactly what is impacted by the pause. Actual legal deliberations will start after that point, where things like jurisdiction and standing will come into the equation.

Belling the Cat's avatar

Progs, libs, deep state, the cabal (TINC) made this move repeatedly throughout his last administration. There's no way Trump & his team were not anticipating they'd go in this direction again. I have to believe they are well prepared to hit this move very very hard -- they have to strangle it in the crib this time around.

Luckily the Supremes have signaled their irritation with this district overreach, so I'm cautiously optimistic this tactic will come off the table fast. We'll see, but agree that all signs are good so far.

Sherry 1's avatar

I think they have a well thought out play 📖 they’ve been working on it for at least three years.

Janet's avatar

This is all preplanned and the pushback/law as well.

PEL's avatar

Biden ignored the Supreme Court on student loans. Can Trump do the same to these rogue judges?

MayBella82's avatar

This shows us who is bought by the DS and it does make it easier to go after them and get them removed from the bench.

Sam's avatar

I am not in favor of executive orders or declaring a national emergency. That gets us closer to an all powerful president who acts more like a king than a part of the government. If people remember it has 3 equal co-parts.

Congress needs to retract the imperial presidency.

People only like it when their team is in power. That’s hypocrisy.

MayBella82's avatar

Biden was a dictator for 4 years. I believe President Trump is bringing us back to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Valerie's avatar

So I live in Houston and have a client who’s an asylum officer. He came in for a massage the other day and I asked him what his job was like with all the EOs and changes coming down (don’t judge, it’s a chiro office, not a spa). He laughed and said they’re always busy but that everyone’s biggest concern is that they’ll have to go into an office. Apparently their entire staff is fully remote and has been for years, there isn’t even a building for them to return to.

Also, he said the biggest problem with asylum is that a huge percentage of people applying for asylum don’t qualify, are economic refugees, and they take precious time and resources from the legit asylum seekers, but that’s been the case for the last 4 years.

I also have a client who’s in the FBI and prosecutes Medicare fraud, she’s got some interesting stories from time to time.

Peter Schott's avatar

That's actually kind of interesting. What do you do when you have a "return to office" but don't actually _have_ an office? And considering that most commercial real estate like that is just a major cost and not efficient, I'm okay with them not having an office ... if their jobs are getting done. Would rather not invest in some crazy expensive "physical location" just to force people into it.

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

My youngest brother is very high-level IT analyst. He literally works for every US Court across the globe.

Which office should he return to?

I vote US Virgin Islands.

SYFY's avatar

I don't understand why everyone has to go back to an office. If they do not see customers and can work from home, let them. It saves money not having to pay for a building and all the utilities, etc. With computers these days they can measure how productive you are and if you've not even moved your mouse in 39 minutes... So start measuring that, get rid of the slouches, keep the workers. Easy peasy, saves money for all

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

You're exactly right, SYFY.

Remote work is more the norm for work that's not physical in nature.

Kelly's avatar

My brother has worked (for NIH) from home for 4 years. I asked him if he was returning to work, he said they dont have a building to return to.

c Anderson's avatar

Sheesh, everyone has a “home” office. 🙄 how about the main office you were hired from?

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

He literally doesn't. He and the other 20 or so analysts on his team have never had a "home" office. They don't even live in the same cities - they live all over the country.

They work almost completely remotely, or on very rare occasions, fly out to wherever they need to be.

When I worked for Ross Perot's EDS in the late 90's, I managed a team that was spread out from Oklahoma to Texas, Japan, Singapore and Beijing.

Way back in the mid 1990's when I still worked for the federal courts, I played on a volleyball team with a lady who was the IT Systems Manager for the US District Court in Boston.

She resided in Tulsa, OK.

c Anderson's avatar

He has a manager. That is where his home office is. Not his residence.

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

His director works in Washington DC, where my brother has never even had a desk, much less an office. I'm not sure if he's ever been to that building.

We're trying to move govt personnel OUT of DC to drain the swamp, remember?

Valerie's avatar

I’m assuming they’ll either stay remote (it’s not like asylum officers can slack off, they’re listening to testimony and have a years-long backup), or they’ll be put in an already-existing federal building in the area… since many won’t be full once DOGE blows through their ranks.

Belling the Cat's avatar

Exactly. There's a lot of commercial real estate (in some places) that desperately needs occupants. It will take some shifting but honestly it makes sense. I work with an entirely virtual team and I love not having to leave home BUT this approach is a playground for the shiftless and sycophantic. From office to virtual work goes from 20% of the people doing 80% of the work to 5% of the people doing 95% of the work (and those 5% are rapidly demoralized so that 100% output is an ever-shrinking pie over time).

It's even more terrible for younger workers who need socialization and structure to mature into competent human beings and colleagues. Full-time screen life works against social, political, & economic health & balance (and physical or mental health/balance, too, of course).

My experience and observations but I've been part-time remote with great amounts of offsite travel for most of my career, primarily virtual since 2018. Acceleration of unhealthy distortions in these latter organizations, and since lockdowns especially, has been shocking.

Valerie's avatar

These are the exact same points I make anytime this discussion comes up. I think the younger workers needing the culture is super important.

c Anderson's avatar

Unless you own your own business which makes you the boss, you need to be monitored as a worker. Remote does not mean your personal residence is your place of work. It does not mean YOU are your own boss. This is the problem of federal workers! They think they are their own bosses. NO, they don’t serve…they are employees!

c Anderson's avatar

Put them in FEMA trailers. They use trailers in the military when buildings are remodeled. Everything is fluid now and no employee should work at home. There are going to be a lot of open desks soon. It is called “work” for a reason. Go to work or get canned. There is always a main office the boss/manager works. That is where your office is.

Dr Linda's avatar

That’s a lot of organic garbage for you to work through. I hope you take care of yourself. Actually, I’m sure you do. You have a hard yet rewarding job.

Valerie's avatar

I have never had Covid, have only had 2 colds since 2020, and I don’t remember ever having the flu. I honestly think being exposed to other people’s junk has made my immune system bullet proof. But I also wash to my elbows immediately after every massage, too.

Janet's avatar

That’s how immunity works. We get boosted just living our lives. What a gift of God to humanity. However, every living thing has some kind of immune or protection system.

LMWC's avatar

When I was a freshman in high school over 50 years ago, I had a biology teacher explain that a baby has it’s greatest immunity after birth, and if you fed it and kept it outside during warm months, it would survive quite well. I don’t know why hat stuck with me all these years, but it did. God created us wonderfully and immunity is one of our greatest single weapons. I, too have not had covid, and not been sick in years. Get fresh air, eat raw foods, fresh cooked meats, and exercise, and avoid the media! 😉

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

Describes both me and my RN wife who neither one of us has health insurance because we don't need it. We cut the cord 3 years ago - maybe four now and don't go to the doctor, or have prescriptions. (I just began the 6th year of being totally doctor free.)

Since she's literally hands on with her hospital patients, she has supercharged immunity.

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

Because she now refuses all the jabs - including specifically the flu vax- her hospital recently ordered my wife to wear a mask during the alleged "flu season."

So she's wearing a useless mask again.

Well, not *completely* useless - she wears it under her chin and it keeps her chin and neck warm.

Become ungovernable.

Janet's avatar

I used to carry my baby around our small town in a cloth sling with wind in her hair and cheeks rosy without 10 pounds of winter gear on her and over her face too. It was scandalous behavior to some of the older ladies. She never got those horrible white stiff leather lace up shoes either. She was never sick and later never got those ear infections all the kids got. She had a sand pile too.

PEL's avatar

Which is why giving them vaccines at birth is insane.

MayBella82's avatar

That is reason why I couldn’t believe parents were getting their babies and children the jab. They actually made their health worse and they might never fully recover from it.

Valerie's avatar

Yep, exactly. My daughter never missed a day of school due to illness all the way to the end of high school, and I’m absolutely convinced it’s because she bit her nails. Keep that immune system burning like a furnace.

Barnjai's avatar

Nail biting, that’s a theory I’ve actually thought about. I started out as a thumb sucker and graduated to nail biting at about age 5. I’m never sick. I’m almost 75 years old and still chomp on my nails while I’m reading or watching TV. I have eaten so much dirt!

MayBella82's avatar

I let my kids have mental health days in HS since they never get sick and made straight A’s.

PEL's avatar

I do too! Since everyone says you have to wash your hands to stay healthy then why am I not sick all the time!! No one has ever answered that question for me. Am chewing them right now after touching my germy phone!

Kathy's avatar

My father was a dentist, and his immune system was so good that I believe he only had two colds during my lifetime. But when he was elderly, they started giving my parents flu shots, and suddenly they got the flu! I had a hilarious conversation with my mother when they were living in another state and it was obvious that they both had the flu. She said “It can’t be the flu. We had our flu shots!” They still did very well, because they exercised religiously three times a week, and always washed their hands when they came home from going out or to the grocery store.

daverkb's avatar

Hum! Interesting how human being are! And how dangerous assumptions can be.

Valerie's avatar

The same thing happened to my dad! Healthy as a horse until 80 when they started pretty much forcing him to get the flu shot and now he gets it every year. Hes 92.

PEL's avatar

The flu shot is a scam.

PEL's avatar

And now it’s on the annual child vaccine list. Insanity!!

Valerie's avatar

Also, I think it’s the best job out there. Helping people to avoid surgery, move without pain, and get more in touch with how their body works is incredibly rewarding to my soul.

There is an expectation to continue have remote workers. The number I read was somewhere in the 200 thousands. There are also exceptions that can be made by department heads.

MayBella82's avatar

Federal jobs have certain jobs coded to be remote work. That is not unusual. Those who have been teleworking for the last 4 years do not have jobs that coded to be remote work. It is possible to change the job coding but it has to be justified. It is not done for the convenience of the person. My command had people back in the office over 2 years ago. This is a leadership problem… they did not have the authority to continue teleworking their employees… and Biden did not enforce it. OPM knew this was happening.

Carolyn Kennedy's attacks on her cousin are disgusting. Why has she turned against her kin? During RFK Jr.'s campaign he was enthusiastically supported by all his family. We all have a right to learn from our past mistakes, and be allowed to do better. I read this excellent Substack from Celia Farber last night addressing this; she includes quotes that I would not have read otherwise. I am the last one to be "anti-semitic", but I have to say her husband is a royal POS.

She is only 67 and she looks 87.

All that hate shows up in the face.

Pat Wetzel's avatar

Yes. She's my age. I think I'll go smile at myself as I pass the mirror this morning.

Doug's avatar

My God, you're right! I saw a pic of her yesterday and thought, "what a hateful old bag!" She's only a few years older than me, and I don't have half the lines on my face that she has, even with the ones that have developed over the past four years!

CMCM's avatar

The Kennedys were not/are not an attractive bunch, and they all seemed to age a lot after a certain point. I would guess she is a lifelong heavy smoker, also a drinker, and perhaps she spent too much time out on the Kennedy yachts in the sun. I've seen smokers with nearly that degree of wrinkles at a younger age than she is. Many years ago I worked with a 28 year old woman who had been a competitive skier, and she already had noticeably damaged skin with wrinkles she shouldn't have had at 28.

CitizenA's avatar

I agree. Looking at RFK Jr today (at the conformation questioning) his face was extremely leathery looking. My first thought was this family spent way too much time on the water in their yachts. The sun, and reflected sun from the water, and the salt spray have done a lot of damage to their skin.

Reminds me of the line in the movie City Slickers… He looks like “A Saddlebag with Eyes.”

rolandttg's avatar

Saw a photo of Cybil Shephard the other day, then and now. She is still attractive, but like her, Debbie Harry, and so many other women who were truly beautiful in their youth, my wife is prettier than all of them. She was always attractive, but not movie start pretty. Rarely wore make up, only a bra for work, and grew up a farm girl. She has aged so well, even more incredible after curing her cancer. And as you say, she is not a hateful or bitter person. Read eons ago it only takes 4 muscles to smile, but over 20 to scowl.

To be fair, the majority of the Kennedy clan had already turned on him way before this. Wish I could say it's surprising, but money is a powerful motivator and he's threatening a lot of cash cows just by speaking the truth.

Kathy's avatar

I think they are also jealous. He has the brains and charisma of his uncle and his father. There may be others with the substance abuse problems in his in family. I had a friend once who was an alcoholic, along with every single member of her immediate family. She was the only one who admitted her problem and went to AA. Meanwhile, the other family members kept abusing alcohol with difficult and devastating consequences, and yet they made her the family scapegoat. Perhaps there is some of this in the Kennedy clan.

CMCM's avatar

The Kennedy history isn't nice. JFK's sister Rosemary was stupidly given a lobotomy and spent her life after that in a mental institution. Ted Kennedy was responsible for the death of a young woman when his car went off a bridge into a river, he left the scene and lied about it all, and yet his family supported his run for President, which I found disgusting. There are some suicides, alcoholism, drug use in the larger family. I have watched them all with some degree of disgust and fascination since JFK was elected when I was 14. The fact that the family is so against RFKJr isn't all that surprising. He broke some family rules.

She reveals a few previously unknown political facts about the 2020 GA elections (e.g. she cut HUGE checks to Schumer to help with those Senate races) and also promises to primary every Senator that votes against RFK. She names names. It is quite bad ass.

It amazes me that 'anti-Semitic' in the real world is a near impossibility when most of the alleged Semites are actually of Turkmen origin, steps people broadly speaking.

As to the Kennedy people, they seemed to have drifted to varying degrees into the Woke tendencies of the D party. They the Kennedy clan are largely 'has beens' living in the fog of a legacy now long gone into the mists of history. This just goes to show the value of making your own way up the ladder, so to speak, just as RFK (no matter what one things of him) has done. And RFK did it the hard way, especially when 'vaccines' as an issue are taken into account.

TimeIsNear's avatar

Notice she didn't say anything about Teddy.

So why doesn't the Dem side of the family support him? 🤔🤨

Daily Growler's avatar

I believe a few of RFK Jr's relatives, including his sister Kerry and nephew John (Caroline's son) talked trash about him during his presidential campaign. So sad.

Kathy McCullough's avatar

I had to turn off the confirmation hearings. I want RFK Jr. to be confirmed, and I am sick of hearing congressmen like Ron Wyden of Oregon (who lives in NY) blather on: "You are going to kill our children by creating vaccine hesitancy. I’ve read thousands and thousands of pages of your position on health, and you will kill Americans."(Paraphrased) He never let Kennedy talk. We elect these people who then get rich off of backroom deals and trades. Then we can’t get them out because they use their gains against us and candidates who can’t afford to run against them. Outmaneuvered and outgunned, we end up with sleazebags like Mitch O’Connell, Pocahontas, Pelosi, and other relics like Wyden. Most Oregonians know him as the vampire because he is so weirdly pale. He doesn’t work for us… he works for himself.

Kathy's avatar

I will not be watching any TV or checking any media today. The attacks on RFK make me sick to my stomach. His appointment is crucial to the physical and economic health of this country.

NAB's avatar

These hearings are possibly the worst display of our so-called political class. I can't stand it. No real information is shared, no one is really interested in discussing any of the issues over which RFK would have influence and it's nothing but grandstanding for people who hold their constituents in contempt.

Peter Schott's avatar

Sadly, they pretty much _all_ do this. They are up their to score political points, not to truly determine if the candidate will be appropriate for the job. There are exceptions, but they're the rarity. The worse part is that so many truly bad candidates then get appointed almost unanimously. :(

NAB's avatar

Compare the confirmation votes for Biden's cabinet members against what has so far happened with Trump's. It's ridiculous. I'm sure Trump 2.0 anticipated this circus so I am trusting they have a plan for every possible outcome.

¡Andrew the Great!'s avatar

Yeah, I muted Newsmax. It's on on the tv in my office, but behind me, I can't see it. Now I can't hear it. For the best.

PamelaZelie's avatar

Exactly. I just couldn’t stomach it. I tried to listen, stopped and turned it back on when Bernie Sanders was ‘speaking.’ That made the decision final! I’ll wait for the recap —- Jeff?

I’d rather go for a long beautiful walk, the weather is lovely in NC right now, and ask God’s blessings upon the confirmation of RFK, Jr.

shayne's avatar

The old hag who thinks she's native American, is whining about RFKjr... Her voice would curdle milk...

Art's avatar

Hearing Ron Wyden lisp through his list of grievances against RFK was very amusing. It reminded me of the Airing of the Grievances episode on Seinfeld. Word on the street is Kennedy has the votes for confirmation, so all of the whining is for naught. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l8Eag9CAFk

CMCM's avatar

One questioner...possibly Wyden...played the same omission/no context game the media used with Trump (bloodbath comment, for example). He wouldn't let Kennedy explain that his comment had been selectively abbreviated. He claimed Kennedy had said "All vaccines are not good" whereas the rest of the sentence was something like "all vaccines are not good for all people". I was so disgusted how he wouldn't let Kennedy fully explain.

Fat chance.

The smart ones will get while the getting is good. That may not be very many though :D and personally I hope they end up tending lawns in California after Homan deports all of the illegals.

CPK (Charles Kalina)'s avatar

One reason I supported Gov. DeSantis was that I remembered Trump 1.0 and figured a second term would be more of the same. I have never been so happy to be proven wrong.

(But I still hope Gov. DeSantis goes on to even greater things in the future. It's good to have a deep bench, and he's still young.)

Stacy's avatar

I was not at all saddened by the fact that we got to keep him for a while longer. Vance/DeSantis, anyone? 👀😏

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

Same here. Keep proving me wrong, Mr. President.

I love it.

Call your Senators first thing and demand they confirm RFK swiftly.

Jen's avatar

I sent Lindsay Graham a heated message yesterday. I told him I heard that he was thinking of voting against and I let him know that I have been a supporter of his every step of the way. But MAHA is critically important to me, maybe my most important issue. And if he stands in the way, I said that I would do everything I could to work with other Republicans here in South Carolina to find the best primary challenger for him and oust him. He cannot mess with us on this one. It's too important.

MCN's avatar

Greetings from SC!

And good for you! I have written him several times re several issues and either hear nothing or am sent a canned reply.

And I voted against him last time he ran for re-election. Just sayin’.

nancylee's avatar

I think its more useful to call. When I'd write, an instant form letter would come back. and I always say I represent my local community church etc group.

Diane Jones's avatar

Can I have a copy of what you sent do I can do the same to ToM TILLIS !! Lol

Nicole Shanahan spitting fire for RFK Jr today: https://x.com/CollinRugg/status/1884413672648265729 or this quote:

"I will make it my personal mission that you lose your seats in the Senate if you vote against the future health of America's children."

"To senators Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Bill Cassidy, Thom Tillis, James Lankford, Cory Booker, John Fetterman, Bernie Sanders, and Catherine Cortez Masto..."

"This is a bipartisan message and it comes directly from me. While Bobby may be willing to play nice, I won't if you vote against him."

"I will personally fund challengers to primary you in your next election, and I will enlist hundreds of thousands to join me."

NAB's avatar

She is playing serious hard ball. Love it! I live in NY and thought, "what's the point of calling Schumer or Gillibrand?" but after seeing that message, I am making the call.

nancylee's avatar

YES! its important they hear from as many people as possible. while they act untouchable they are actually cowards and rely on constituents to just give up

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

You voted for pro-choicer Trump though, who thought Desantis 6-wk abortion ban was too extreme, and who allowed his wife Melania to publish a book defending a woman's right to choose.

Lorita's avatar

I have new added respect for her.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

I will call, but I am sure my Dem Senator Durbin will be against him.

RJ Rambler's avatar

What? You didn't vote for him? I really think Illinois@ Chi'ago or Springfield or Peoria or Champaign or all will be the last clogged drains to the sewer. Lord please plunge them deep.

Dr Linda's avatar

Durbin, yikes! At least he’ll know he’s beibg watched

Susan G's avatar

Come on, he owns his seat.

Janet's avatar

Yup. He doe#nt even want me to have OTC supplements unless they are heavily vetted by the FDA. He’s a friend of PHARMA. Duckworth? Is she doing anything but collecting a nice paycheck and benefits and voting to harm us? I really don’t know, but correct me if I am too hard on her. (Yes, I know her physical challenges)

Kathy's avatar

Yes, Senator Durbin is an enemy to anyone who likes to use nutritional supplements as part of their wellness program. He wants to see the small manufacturers squeezed out of the system, and then eventually Pharma can take over any existing production, and eventually it will be treated like a drug. A.k.a. expensive and only available by prescription. This already exists in certain European countries. They do not want us to be healthy! As RFK often says, the two most profitable things are a sick child, and war.

Jen's avatar

He said that? I can understand why, but man, that hurts my heart. A sick child...who would purposely want that? Nevermind, the psychopaths who think they run the world, that's who.

nancylee's avatar

the more pressure the better

Kathy's avatar

You are correct, but I think it is worth doing anyway. They need to know how many of us will be ticked off. If you get a live person, they will be polite.

LMWC's avatar

Michigan here with newly minted Democrat, Slotkin as Senator, and worthless Dem Gary Peters will not confirm. It’s the GOP defectors to worry about. Gary Peters just announced he won’t run again in 2026. Yay! But Mayor Pete, recently defecting to Michigan to live is up for the challenge of being another worthless Michigan senator in two years.

Dr Linda's avatar

I have done a number of times and will do this morning

Kathy McCullough's avatar

Mine doesn’t listen… I wish we could vote him out. Oregon, of course.

Michelle D's avatar

Adam Schiff is one my senators. SMH! His picture has a smug look about it.

Kitkat's avatar

Fellow Commiefornian here. It's sad that Steve Garvey didn't beat out Shifty. But as we all know, it's all rigged 1-party elections here. Newscum made sure of that.

CMCM's avatar

I want to 🤮 every time I see Schiff's ugly, snarky, lying face. Who are the California idiots who voted him into his Senate seat? I haven't talked to anyone who voted for him. I'm sure cheating went on.

Girl on the move's avatar

Can we contact senators not from our state? Texas is all in already…

nancylee's avatar

I've been known to do that. I tell their staff their vote affects the entire country and I am happy to work for or against any politician.

Janet's avatar

Call them. They don’t read emails or see letters. Waste of time. Call and talk to a staffer. Mostly they answer the phone and make notes.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

Update - I just called Durbin's office. The message said that "due to the high volume of calls" they were not answering calls, and I was not able to leave a message. Same for Duckworth. I managed to locate a contact form on Durbin's website, and left my comment there. They do not want feedback from the peons. They do not work for us, they work for vested interests.

Joanne Shannon's avatar

They’re my centators too!

Janet's avatar

I’m sure they have made sure the peon phone mailbox is always full. It used to be not a problem but they see a need to block us out more and more. Till we are just an undefined buzz.

Kathy's avatar

You can tell them that you will be watching the way that they vote, and that the medical freedom people will not let senators off the hook in the next primary if they go against us. We can always donate to the campaigns of people running against traitors! And we can expose them on social media.

SurvivorWen's avatar

Pretty sure Amy Klobuchar will be a no!

nancylee's avatar

call anyway. Its a way of taking your power back from them

Fre'd Bennett, MAHA's avatar

Done. Left both Sens. Lankford and Markwayne Mullin a voicemail repeating my desire they confirm "Pres. TRUMP'S choice" to Make America Healthy Again.

RJ Rambler's avatar

I cannot comprehend a Dr that supports a before birth murder. If he hasn't changed his mind by now, he won't and he will be the greatest influencer!! Snake in the grass? Is there NONE better?! 😭

you aren't going to get perfect. and he is our best and maybe last chance to reform all things pharma death cult. If he can get vaccine program scrutinized it will save a hell of lot of post birth babies.
