I'll admit to being tentatively excited by this - especially for my parents and how maddening it is for them to navigate through Medicare. Especially if you are able to use standard language in the query rather then having to take a class in "prompt engineering". Prior to this, I have seen AI as yet another "tech in search of a problem" - the AI assisted search rollout at my company was a disaster, the most common question from the teams was "so AI gives this answer, is it correct?"
That is my response to using AI for legal research too. It seems to me if you are asking questions you do not know the answer to, which after all is why you do legal research, you are taking a risk. Citations to cases and statutes seem to be particularly problematic. Of course the simple solution is to verify the cites.
