Yes! We have older twin brothers and my twin has twin grands (all fraternal).

Laura Kasner's avatar

Elaine - indeed! But what isn’t cool and is incredibly sad is that our brothers no longer speak to us. They still believe all the lies - or they are too proud to admit they were duped. 😢

RunningLogic's avatar

A belated happy birthday to you too! 😊 I still need to respond to your kind post on homeschooling but haven’t had time to go back and find it 😞

VelvetStitching's avatar

Thanks! Not a problem! We all post comments and then can't find them - the day is so full anyway! I posted a long one on the Lithium ore in NC - maybe I'll go find it and copy and paste tomorrow earlier in the day - no one will read it and it was important stuff - NC Governor posted a video stating that if a “natural” disaster “just happened” to destroy homes in the Appalachian area they would request the people not build back but let their property resort back to the state for “green space!” Three days later “geoengineered Hurricane Helene hit; reservoir waters were released on saturated and flooded areas and the whole place was decimated!

We had heard there was lithium but that fact was very downplayed.

Anyhoo - I may post again tomorrow!

I like thay you posted a “Happy Birthday to me!” post! Cute!

Mine was the 19th - knew I liked you for more reasons than the good / thoughtful posts! 😁

My brother's Bday is tomorrow (my older brother passed in 2022 - 63 years old. Sigh.

Have a great evening!

RunningLogic's avatar

I did see the comment about the lithium, but I was also wondering if the mines were other places in Appalachia since it covers a big area. I guess we’ll have to wait and see but it’s definitely good to be aware and keep an eye on things!

I totally didn’t expect my post to turn into this huge thread!! 🤪😆 I am actually really touched that so many people responded to me with their kind wishes ❤️ I just was tickled by the wonderfully positive and uplifting post Jeff wrote that happened to be on my birthday! I had no plan to monopolize the comment section yesterday 😆 But it was fun to see how many others have April birthdays too!! A belated happy birthday to you also!! 🎂🎉 I am sorry about your brother, it is so sad when they are gone too soon 😞💔

VelvetStitching's avatar

Yes! The thread conversation was really touching! It was an unexpected gift for you! God does lovely things like that just because He loves His children! (we like to give good gifts - He is the ultimate GIFT Giver!)

Your conversation didn't dominate - it became a fellowship thread which blessed many! 😍

Happy Birthday RL. IT'S A GREAT DAY!

Especially with all this winning reported from our intrepid Attorney-in-Chief.

I am NOT getting tired of winning and am salivating at the prospect of criminals like comey, actblue Fraudsters, SPLCracist/fraudsters and so many more heading to indictments and jail cells.

86 that, bitch comey.

Oh, if you want more good news, then please also checkout The Huckabee Post with its well sourced news feed (and great humor/snark too):

Matt L.'s avatar

All great news! Except for the Comey bit. I’m a 1st Amendment absolutist and that seashell case isn’t going to stick. That DOJ case is exhibit A, of “punishment is the process” and ‘red meat’ to emotionally driven folks on the right. Trump should find real evidence of malfeasance w/ Comey like has apparently been found for Fauci # 2, rather than trying to use James as proxy dot-connector to Cole Allen.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Well Matt, while we generally agree, I will tell you that you can't be an absolutist. You can't yell fire in a theater. Comey being in law enforcement (allegedly as I believe he acted a criminal more than law enforcer, seeing himself above the law)) at the highest level, yelled fire in a theater, as a fireman. He knew better, in his TDS state he posted it, realizing his mistake, he deleted the post, now he should get to pay the piper.

BTW, I do believe this is part of the comey, clapper, brennan, obama takedown, all connected.

Il faut savoir ~'s avatar

Yes, Dan. It has to do with the Russia, Russia, Russia setup! A conspiracy against an elected gov. The shell display—Comey just couldn't stop himself, his ego convincing him that there was no risk, he was above it all: "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." We shall see—

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Amen, much more coming for all of those treasonous criminals. They swore oaths to tge Constitution and then violated it in every conceivable way, to the point the country is damn near civil war.

Matt L.'s avatar

Yeah, I'm just seeing the Comey case as weak sauce. The merits of '86 47' is not designed to 'win' the case but instead to occupy the airways. Perhaps this is warm up for something else.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Its a message to all of them. Judgemet day is coming. Where is his case being prosecuted and what will the jury see which you and I haven't.

This is just the beginning of comey's trouble. The motherfucker thought he was above the law, in fact thought he was the law.

Debbie's avatar

Comey also knows exactly what those numbers mean, and IMO making the display and taking a photo and posting it implies malicious intent of riling up Trumps’s opposition. Other democrats were also doing the same thing, like Maxine Waters and Kathie Griffith.

The final nail though was actually deleting it even though there were already screen shots.

Matt L.'s avatar

Well, posting a photo of numbers on the sea shore isn’t breaking any law that I’m aware of. To convict Comey, the DOJ will have to show that this picture was a “true threat” to Trump. It’s disgusting he posted that to Instagram, then took it down the same day. I’m still waiting for official report on what motivated Thomas Matthew Crooks to shoot Trump in the face. If Comey had something to do with that then we’re talking. Either Trump wants to bury the Crooks story because it isn’t politically helpful, or he’s holding it in reserve for just the right time. Which possibility do you think it is?

Kaycee's avatar

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Bgagnon's avatar

Hope you are correct!

Michelle D's avatar

When hurricane Helene devastated NC, I saw discussion on the lithium deposits in the hills and Kamala Harris' husband owning land there and the stall to allow people to rebuild so land could be cheaply purchased, similar to Maui and CA. Make the people.move on. Has there been any more discussion on this? Or was it all theory?

CHop's avatar

I am too. However, I see 2 things that could be occurring. Either Comey is a "double agent" and they have to make it appear that way (He did help sway the 2016 election when he said he was looking at the Clinton emails)

Or, he really is a bad guy and was sending a message to the deep state to kill Trump.

There is a reason they are going after Comey and not Madonna who wanted to blow up the White House or the red headed comedian that posted a photo of Trump severed head. In my view, they did the same thing Comey did, but if Comey's was an order, then that is a different story.

Double Mc's avatar

Comey didn't have to 'order' anything. He was head of the FBI, America's premier law enforcement agency. A mere hint from him was all that would be needed to persuade weak-minded individuals to act. Madonna and Griffin were never in positions of authority like Comey. I will never be convinced that Comey wasn't encouraging someone, anyone, to 86 the president of the US. That, my friend, borders on treason.

FH's avatar

Linked video of Tulsi’s take right after it happened. I got to it via Amuse X account, posted yesterday, linked by commenter on another platform.

Dunno what the judge or lawyers will do; but apparently the people who served on the grand jury were convinced of enough evidence to indict.

https://youtu.be/H0sgeb6n8hc

Matt L.'s avatar

Me thinks this is evidence that both sides can find sympathetic grand jury's. Looks from the video like Tulsi is being a good soldier and carrying water for the boss. I used to work in restaurants and 86 meant we were out of a particular food item. In Comey's case, 86 can be argued it meant to remove Trump from office by the 25th Amendment, and not by assassination. I'm a 3x Trump voter and just try my best to use critical thinking in this age of social media.

FH's avatar

I have used that term for decades as a result of my restaurant work. So Of course I see your point, and at first thought that was what Comey meant - simply to get rid of “that guy.” It’s too much of a stretch for me, given his history, to think that he meant via the 25A.

I also see your point about free speech. I wonder how the “yelling fire in a crowded theater” argument might hold up. Or maybe free speech will not be argued by the prosecution, who knows.

What is notable about what TG says is that it is well known among those in the criminal underworld use that lingo for ensuring the end of life for a perceived enemy or traitor. She goes on to point out that there is no credible way he wouldn’t know this given his long experience with that criminal world. And clearly the grand jury thought something was terribly wrong with his efforts and we don’t know what evidence they saw.

I have watched Tulsi since before she left the Dems. If she didn’t believe what she said, she would have found a way not to be saying what she said in public. That said, loyalty to the CoC is paramount in any administration and this team displays it publicly, smartly. It does ruffle my feathers a bit, but then I have worked (and failed) in highly politicized environments so I get it.

At any rate, I am thrilled Comey has to defend himself and spend a lot of money to do so, after the way he turned so many lives upside down with his treachery.

Michelle Enmark, DDS's avatar

Exactly FH! We can speculate all day about whether or not he will actually have to spend any time in jail, kind of a waste of time really( the speculation , not the potential jail time). What we can comment on and be happy about is that he has to spend his time, and money, combined with most likely some stress for him and his family over this grand jury indictment.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Our friend on X @theVivaFrei has an interesting analysis of Comey’s legal problems and provides context others have missed. Frei explains:

People are either unaware of, or ignoring the context of Comey’s Instagram post. It was not a “one-off”. It was actually the second in a series of three posts, all of which were connected, self-referential, and clearly deliberately so.

Post 1: Comey at the beach, reading his new book, FDR Drive (image attached).

Post 2: 8647 in shells.

Post 3: The summary of his new book which he is reading in Post 1. That summary:

“Garcia believes Buchanan went far beyond the protection of the first amendment when *he singled out his enemies by name* and *suggested “something should be done” about them*. His fans have obliged, killing or grievously, injuring some of his foes.”

Comey is telling you exactly what he is doing.

Reading his book. Singling out his enemies by name (as close as he can get) - 47 for Trump.

Suggesting “something should be done about them” - 86 for kill or eliminate.

And “his fans have obliged” from his book description that he posted.

This analysis also explains why the indictment seeks forfeiture of “property, real or personal, which constitutes or is derived from proceeds traceable to the said offense.” DOJ apparently believes Comey’s coded message “took a page out of his new book,” and promoted its sales.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

Actually this is a nothing burger. Comey is dyslexic. He was really wishing America a happy birthday back in 68( 7468). The Newsom defense

DRK's avatar

No Right, however UNalienable, can be used as an excuse to trespass upon the Rights of another.

Our 51 State Constitution often make this more clear that the Constitution of our federation of States. One example:

California Constitution - Article I, Section 2 (a):

"Every person may freely speak, write and publish his or her sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of this right. A law may not restrain or abridge liberty of speech or press. "

In these United States, since the founding, the exercise of "freedom of speech" never covered libel, slander, public profanity or obscenity, nor incitement to violence.

Similarly ,the 2nd Amendment does not allow one to brandish a weapon at someone, nor to use it to infringe upon anyone else's Rights.

Hope this helps clear up an increasingly common misunderstanding.

Happy Birthday to all my fellow bull headed Taurus peeps! Mine is on Friday! Quick little story: I was born in Venezuela many many years ago and my birthday fell on May 1st, International Workers Day. In Venezuela, like in many countries, that meant military parades, etc. I was 6 before I found out the parades weren’t for my birthday! My dad was quite the jokester!

Margot Wooster's avatar

JudyC, that is so cool! I was born in Japan, back in the middle of the last century, in a MASH.

JudyC's avatar

Another “third culture kid”!

(For those who don’t know here’s the definition “A Third Culture Kid is defined as a person who has spent a significant part of their developmental years in a culture different from their parents' culture or their passport country.”)

Lolol. Happy early birthday. My wife's birthday is may 1st as well!

RunningLogic's avatar

Yes Tauruses are the best stubborn determined people 😁 An early happy birthday to you!! Lol about the parades, too funny!!

Mehitabel's avatar

Born on May 21, on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini, I always considered myself more Taurus; but I’m told that’s not correct. So I just tell people that the influence of the Taurus bull and the Gemini twins, just makes me twice as bull-headed as others.

I love that! 😆😁

Granny Annie's avatar

My grandson turned four the first year that I was awarded custody of him. His birthday is July 4th, so I took him to see the fireworks. A few minutes after they started, he looked up at me with a huge smile and said, "Thank you, Granny, thank you!" He thought I had arranged them just for his birthday! It was so sweet. And he is still as sweet, and 14 this year! Egads! 😆

Sweet story, I love it and yep, your dad was pretty special. On May Day we made paper cones with handles, filled them with flowers and hung them on our neighbor's door knobs. It was fun!

JudyC's avatar

What a lovely thing to do! We need to bring that type of thing back!

Karen Bandy's avatar

I agree. A few years ago I delivered Easter treats to a few of mom and dad’s neighbors in their retirement community. I wish I had taken more. It was a last minute thing.

Mom was actually born on Easter. Maybe that was the tradeoff for also being born on April Fools day, lol!

What an incredibly sweet gesture! You’ll probably never know what that meant to those people. Sometimes the smallest things mean the world to others.

And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.”

And they WONT HAVE EITHER. FREEDOM IS SCARY, DEAL WITH IT.

We follow this civil rights lawyer guy on YouTube tube. He mostly reports on local issues in W.Va.. some of these cops are just freaks. And I support the blue. I guess hiring and training techniques in that state leave a bit to be desired. Yikes.

I heard Trump was entertaining the notion of changing ICE officers official name of NICE. Just so that the media would be compelled to call them NICE officers. That would be truly quintessential Trump. Aww, c'mon, its funny...

Is it "trolling" to point out that God opposes triple-tapping a girls school, Dianna?

Truth Counts's avatar

Seems like a lot of "christians" here can get snarky, if not vicious when their mythology is countered...

IF they read Biglino's "The Naked Bible"... they would realize that they have built their spiritual foundation on a bed of sand.

But doubtful any WOULD read it... ignorance is bliss, for them.

Maureen Mehlman's avatar

Sigh. Bet you consider Trump supporters as somehow intellectually challenged? I chose to follow Yeshua and accept the Judeo-christiandoctrine teachings in the Hebrew Bible. That necessarily implies I reject any doctrine that contradicts my belief. I most definitely support any/all ppl chosing a path that works best for them. We dont have to agree.

Bard Joseph's avatar

Sounds anti semantic

Phil Denter's avatar

It's their hypocrisy that really sets me off. They actually virtue-signal how they support the American slaughtering of little Iranian girls in the name of God!

A.'s avatar

I can agree with you, Phil, that these "loving Christians" are some of the most insulting and nasty people I have met on any Substack. They delight in attacking others here, often with foul language. They blow their own cover.

Christians they are not. They just usurp that term. Then twist it.

TRM's avatar

Since you quote Revelations are you aware of the "Preterist" view?

Carolyn's avatar

ALL prophecy has not been fulfilled but is being fulfilled during these days. IF all had been fulfilled, we would not be in this spiritual war we are in. The destroyer would be bound and YESHUA would be in charge for the thousand years..the destroyer let free for a time and the books open and all will be judged. GOD is fulfilling HIS promises of exposing things done in the dark to the light which is truth. Let HIM do HIS works. Give HIM the honor, praise, glory and gratitude HE so rightly deserves. Put HIM first and live like HE has given us instruction to live.

What if it's not prophecy but a plan? A human plan.

The U.S. Triple Tapped The Iranian Elementary School.

The U.S. military hit an elementary school three times in succession. A human would have seen the children after the first strike. The AI didn’t look.

https://volitionmaximus.substack.com/p/the-us-triple-tapped-the-iranian

A father in Minab, Iran received a phone call from his daughter’s school on the morning of February 28. There had been an explosion. His daughter was alive. “Come get her.” Before he could reach her, the school was hit again. She was killed.

The principal of Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School had moved surviving children into a prayer room after the first strike collapsed the roof. She called parents. “Come now.” The second strike hit the prayer room. According to the mayor of Minab and Iran’s Ministry of Education, a third strike followed.

168 people died. Children. Teachers. Four parents who came to pick up their kids. The school was painted bright blue and pink with sports fields drawn on the asphalt. It was visually, unmistakably, a school.

The U.S. military did this. Not allegedly. Not according to Iranian state media. According to The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR, CBC, BBC Verify, Bellingcat, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch. According to the Pentagon’s own internal investigation. According to footage showing a U.S. Tomahawk cruise missile striking the site. Tomahawks are used exclusively by U.S. forces in this conflict.

Prof. Seyed M. Marandi: “It’s not just murdering little girls at school and blaming the Iranians. What Trump did was: he tried to say that Iran fired Tomahawk missiles at their own school. And Western media didn’t care. They don’t care. And these are the same lies that we hear about Iran for the last 47 years.”

Why are you triggered... do YOU support the intentional targeting of the Iranian girl's school? And his unprovoked and illegal war on Iran? You are not stupid enough to believe that Iran was weeks away from building a nuke... are you?

And... Do you support Trump's praise and funding of Israel's genocide in Gaza and Lebanon? Some est 600,000 innocents murdered?

Alan Devincentis's avatar

But genocide! What a bunch of things less than men. Not sure what you are, but manly doesn’t work to describe either if you fops. Faggoty is closer. You both sound like 12 years ago old schoolgirls. What Islam did to Israel, on 7 October, they should have plowed the whole fucking mess into the sea. They didn’t, but they should have. And Hamas, they are all Hamas. Women and children first. 600 k innocents killed? You fucking make up numbers some dope told you? You do realize there wasn’t one innocent In Gaza. Not even the children are innocent after three years of age. I’ll laugh when both of you fops are getting butt fucked by some Islamic pig you invite into your home.

Hi Janice,

How's today's book-flogging and virtue-signaling going?

neener's avatar

Everybody has one, but that doesn't mean you have to BE one. We all know now what the A. stands for!

Free in Florida's avatar

Neener - Someone told me it’s a bot (perhaps from the UK with its spelling of behaviour.) It needs to correct its English, however - it should be “no difference”, not “no different.” Not sure how those work. LOL

Margot Wooster's avatar

Boo. Whoever you are, “A”, know this: you WILL stand before the judgment seat of Christ one day, you WILL bow the knee to Him, and you WILL confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, whether you want to or not. Philippians 2:9-11, the Word of GOD.

Truth Counts's avatar

"Judge not" went out the window, eh, hypocrite?

A.'s avatar

Margot, whoever you are, I have tried several times to explain reality to you, but you seldom take off your judgmental cultist blinkers and think about it.

I suspect it is more likely that God is going to have to have a little talk with you in the afterlife, Margot, than with me. He does not like your behaviour or attitudes. The attacks on other people by you and your fellow cultists really ticks him off. This is the antithesis of Christ-like behaviour.

Shape up! You never seem to learn. You just come back virtue-signaling once again, as cover.

Margot Wooster's avatar

The true Gospel is offensive. I am praying for you, if you are even a real person. God knows.

Margot, God is watching you, Be very careful. Open your eyes and become a decent person. Stop your self-righteous con-artistry. Many of us have had enough of it here.

Margot, go take a time-out and REALLY think about your unacceptable behaviour, and how you are going to improve. Leave the cult, for starters.

☕️ Coffee & Covid News 🦠

neener replied to your comment on ☕️ HAPPENINGS ☙ Wednesday, April 29, 2026 ☙ C&C NEWS 🦠.

Everybody has one, but that doesn't mean you have to BE one. We all know now what the A. stands for!

REPLY

Now what a kindly loving Christian response that was, my friend. You are simply proving that this herd camped on this Substack is not really practicing Christianity, but cult-ism. I notice how quick you all are to attack anyone who does not go along with your groupthink narrative 100%. The claws certainly come out. No different in your behaviour than the WOKE.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

You started it,dickhead.

Politico Phil's avatar

Wow, what a thread. This guy or gal is a shit stirrer. I'm beginning to think he is an AI bot designed solely to degrade a forum. The fact that "it" immediately attacked Janice demonstrates it's tactic. Otherwise, there is no logical reason to attack Janice's comment.

Edit: I spoke too quickly. Apparently, A. is a woman. From the sound of her comments, most likely a PhD or some other high level of education. As is typical of PhDs, she exhibits a narcissistic superiority and fails utterly to even understand how she comes across. Finally, and this is also typical, she exhibits a active disdain for the Christian faith. For people like that, it is their mission in life to ridicule Christianity at every opportunity. Thus the reply to Janice.

Bot or PhD, it doesn't much matter. Simply ignoring it is the only proper response.

A.'s avatar

What a lovely democratic and Christian reply, Alan dear. You just proved my point.

Thanks for that.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

Never claimed to be much of a Christian, certainly not democratic in any form. But to attack Janice, you throw about insults meant to enrage, then act holier than thou when someone like myself, who has no time for democratic bullshit, calls you out on it. What a disgusting waste of humanity, that was given to you.

A.'s avatar
Apr 29Edited

Glad you admit the obvious -- that neither are you a Christian nor democratic. And you are not much of a decent person either. In fact, you displayed zero decency in this rant of yours.

So I am not allowed to state the truth here against what the cultists are saying? I never see you question them when they spout inanities. Or when they attack others for failing to agree with them. What kind of person are you, Alan?

Me....acting holier than thou? I think you mean the Holy Poseurs on this site. You are really sure that Janice is godly simply because she cuts and pastes Scripture quotes daily here, in order to sell her book? She behaves like a lot of fraudsters I know of. This is a common con-artistry trick. Are you so naive you do not spot it? This is a general news site. Why is she posting this material daily? We can all look it up ourselves if we are interested, Frankly, I do not trust Janice's motives. But she counts on the fact that most people will fall for the Scripture-lady routine.

Now run along and examine your conscience, Alan. You have been quite a bad boy here today. You need to apologize and repent.

No, you are wrong. Most comments I make contain generous and valuable information about the answers from my field which will assist in bringing society back to normal. Though perhaps your reading comprehension is low.

And you have the gall to try to stop this by defaming me? I will report you if you continue harassing me here, Which is all you seem to know how to do. I have seen no posts of value from you or your sort. You use this as a chit-chat forum and to encourage your vacuous groupthink. As your own profile says: "Nothing important".

Be careful how you proceed. Do not attack me again. Fair warning.

A.'s avatar

Oh, it's you again. Who only ever sends out foul diatribes.

I'll let you shoot yourself in the foot. You always do.

J in veritatis inquisitione's avatar

Miss A

You shure like stirring chit. It appears you are always looking for a bone to chew on. "Almost every comment you make contains abuse" : truth said by a commenter. And they always contain a big judgement on people and on their intrinsic value.

And all that « name dropping » you do is so annoying. And the constant lecturing of us poor ill-informed souls. And then you throw in all your "impressive" credentials, as if it makes what you say more true.

It does not.

You have opinions and bits of usefull infos, you don’t have the absolute truth. But you pretend you do and this is not even comical.

Many people here have degrees too, you know, and much life experience, but they do not need to brag about it. And most on this « curious substack » have very interesting things to share with this community.

If you don’t like what you read here, why don’t you just stay away? Why do you persist? May be you are really a BOT instructed with nefarious goals.

Or stay humble if you can and speak with your heart.

Or naturally all should ignore you.

A.'s avatar
Apr 29Edited

That was a whole load of projection from you, my friend. I sense you are very envious. I only had to read your profile and the pseudonym you give yourself to realize what your game is. As in:

"Ph.D., I read people who search for the truth and try to enlighten us during this difficult time. Life and Love will prevail."

That was a lot of vague nonsense. Where is all that Light and Love you promise? Not here....

And you boast at the drop of a hat. It's what you are all about. You are just ticked-off that I can actually discuss and debate at the highest levels. Though I rarely see you doing anything but making catty remarks about others. You offer little or nothing worthwhile here. And you are in a rage because some of us do! You need to learn to control yourself. Some good therapy might assist you there.

Name-dropping? You should know references from name-dropping, unless you are a phony Ph.D. Which I rather suspect. Because you give no evidence of being able to discuss the deeper issues at that level. But you insult others with aplomb! You are more like the religious extremist cult group members here.

Meow, meow, meeeeow......says phony pompous J.

Too funny! "You shure like stirring chit." (sic)

Your writing needs improvement, btw.

J in veritatis inquisitione's avatar

I will repeat. If you don’t like what you read here, why don’t you just stay away?

Why do you persist?

Why this malice and negative judgments that everybody can see in your comments?

I am very sorry for you and wish you the best.

End of this conversation (if there ever was one).

A.'s avatar

You know, that is exactly what we need to be asking you. I will repeat. If you don’t like what you read here, why don’t you just stay away? Why do you persist?

Just back away slowly, J. No one will miss you. You do not contribute anything worthwhile. We won't even notice, Though you will lose your forum for making your chronic insults I realize. Maybe you use this site for therapy, instead of a punching bag. H-m-m? Try a good gym. Or Primal Scream Therapy. We are not here for you to take out your problems on.

Those that started an unprovoked and illegal war on Iran, with so many thousands more innocent lives destroyed... ditto.

Agree?

Skeptical Actuary's avatar

Genocide is defined as trying to wipe out an entire people group. It's not happening in Gaza or Lebanon.

While I don't necessarily agree with President Trump's actions in Iran, it is in fact legal under US law. Between their official stance of wanting to destroy the US, and their stockpiles of enriched Uranium, I think a decent case can be made that action was warranted.

Now, why don't you talk about the real genocides of the Armenians, the Jews and the Tutsis of Rwanda?

And talk about the historical wars the killed millions of people.

I will be blocking you after today, so when you don't see me respond anymore, it will be because I don't see you. I'm too busy tilting at windmills on X to deal with it here too.

Why any woman would have willingly taken any vaccine or pseudo-vaccine during pregnancy is beyond me. I wouldn't even drink coffee in pregnancy. The results of drugs on the fetus are well known.

Garden Lover's avatar

Because they trust their doctors and doctors started pushing vaccines during pregnancy a good decade ago.

Joanne Shannon's avatar

The sooner they can injure a child, the easier it is to distract the vaxxers that the vaccines are the problem. That’s why there is such a push for the hep b vaccine to be given at birth.

Garden Lover's avatar

Oh, 100%. You also have to refuse the Vitamin K shot. I wish I had known that.

I never trusted every doctor. I did my own homework first. Because I know that medical mistakes are rampant. And it is not the doctor who pays the price if it happens.

Garden Lover's avatar

I never did either, but many people do. Even when they see the harm caused, they often deny it.

OK, here is something I am going to mention, seeing as we are talking about injuries to children. Even unintended injuries.

Not many people know about the human Attachment System of the brain, and that properly activating that Attachment System by the mother or caregiver in infancy and early childhood is crucial to the child's wellbeing. Unsuccessful Attachment can follow them for life.

I am not referring to the recent internet craze of figuring out your "Attachment style". Like you talk about your zodiac sign. Just a lot of silliness there.

I am talking about real Attachment issues. From the John Bowlby Theory of the 60s.

A.'s avatar

I will add that it is Attachment loss in the first three years, due to either abuse/neglect, or separation of mother and child, or Attachment loss in an otherwise very caring mother -- that can lead to such adult issues as addiction or the Cluster-B Personality Disorders. Depending on the resilience of the child and/or healing experiences afterwards.

A.'s avatar
Apr 29Edited

In the 90s and early 2000s, there was a spate of adoptions by Americans of children in the orphanages of former Eastern Communist countries. Everyone seemed to believe that plenty of love in a real family would do the trick in healing these children of their prior neglect.

Not necessarily so. A number of them already had RAD -- Reactive Attachment Disorders -- due to early separation from the mother combined with neglect in these orphanages.

In other words, a whole group of potential pathological Narcissists and Psychopaths were introduced to society in these poor children. They certainly did not ask for these troubles. But unfortunately for the children and the adoptive parents, this is what happens too often under those circumstances. When there is serious Attachment System loss.

A.'s avatar

I will not leave it there without mentioning Therapeutic Parenting. Which was developed by both Daniel Hughes (PACE Program) and Terry Levy (ATTACH Organization).

Miracles might still be performed by parents willing and able to use these specific methods in raising these troubled children.

A.'s avatar

Do they? Could be. I have never looked into this condition in dogs. Though once upon a time I had the MOST anxious terrier imaginable. And I always wondered if they took her away from her mother too early.

It is good that such extremists finally awaken (often when they hit rock bottom), and we should hope that many more extremists on both the far-leftwing and far-rightwing awaken.

However, I tend to trust the always-balanced individuals far more than I trust the recent converts, who did not see the light until they were forced.

Frequently they just use this attention-getting tactic to launch a new and dramatic podcast or Substack. It pulls in the punters. I would believe them more if they were humble about it. When they are not, I smell a rat.

I recall that Michael Shellenberger used this "I am a Convert!!" routine to launch his media career. I paid annual fees for his Substack. Two weeks later, he banned me and kept the money. Not so sure if that lithium vein is good news for Appalachians. Its been well known for a long time now, it wasn’t just discovered. Too bad the App mountain people live on it. They will need to get them to move and give up their land to mine the lithium. Maybe a once in a millenium hurricane causing utter devastation would drive them off their land. Seems like that was tried once.

Valerie's avatar

How about, instead of automatically assuming the worst thing will happen, we think for a minute that technology may have progressed to a point where there won’t be massive disruption of residents? Look how fracking has changed the oil business. I don’t know anything, but it’s definitely a possibility.

Teresa Thibodeaux's avatar

From your comment to Gods ears. 🙏🏻😘

Juju's avatar

And even if they can find a way I pray their families get royalties for ever bit mined. They DO own the land, so … like those who find oil on their lands

Richard Whitney's avatar

"Living near fracking sites causes significant health, environmental, and quality-of-life harms to neighbors, including respiratory issues (coughing, wheezing), cancer risks, birth defects, and psychological stress. Local communities face air pollution from chemicals like benzene, intense noise, vibrations, and traffic, alongside potential groundwater contamination.

University of Colorado Anschutz

Key Harms to Neighbors

Health Issues: Residents near fracking sites report increased incidences of headaches, nausea, nosebleeds, asthma, and skin rashes. Studies show an increased risk of preterm birth and low birth weight in infants born to mothers living near wells, which are leading causes of infant death.

Air and Water Contamination: Hazardous air pollutants (benzene, formaldehyde) and diesel emissions from trucks, equipment, and flaring degrade air quality. Leaking wells or improper waste disposal can contaminate local well water.

Noise and Vibration: Around-the-clock drilling operations, heavy truck traffic, and machinery create constant noise and vibrations, disrupting sleep and reducing quality of life.

Community and Social Disruption: Increased traffic, damage to roads, light pollution, and strain on local resources (hospitals, schools) are common.

Property and Financial Risks: Homes with private water wells located near fracking sites can experience a decrease in property value. Some landowners may face challenges with mortgages due to split-estate scenarios.

Nice idea, but human nature is unchanged over a millennium. Greed and evil will make their run at taking the land. Already have the first time, if you ask me.

All over the country and in Canada, people and organizations with money manipulate laws to take land cheap. Sinner or later, they try.

Donna in MO's avatar

YES! There were theories circulating that the floods were allowed to happen and the disaster response was so pathetic just BECAUSE they want to displace these people in order to get to the lithium. Not to mention the environmental disaster that lithium mines can produce. Definitely not excited about the prospects for people whose land is going to be destroyed. I am a solid fiscal conservative, but also a tree hugger of sorts and not a huge fan of this.

Donna in MO's avatar

Lydia Lozano's avatar

Red herring question. You have no idea what that means.

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

You think Joey wanted to be able to mine the lithium? Since when has any democrat wanted to exploit mineral resources as opposed to locking them in the ground forever.

Mayor's avatar

Sibelco is an international mining company operating in the small town of Spruce Pine, Mitchell County, NC that is also a major employer in the area. The company buys up large tracts of land and strips the land of lithium, quartz, feldspar, and uraninite. I’ve been told the spent bottom sedimentation contains a large amount of fluoride and forever chemicals. There is concern chemicals used in the operations can poison waterways and water sources. Plus, the sound of the heavy equipment from the operation is noise pollution to nearby land owners. These are large scale operations that can quickly devalue your property if they start mining nearby.

Richard Whitney's avatar

I looked it up. It's a Belgian corporation.

So the US is opening land and water up to Chile and Belgium and calling it a "win".

Same worries here. It’s definitely there, just not sure it’s going to be a good thing for Appalachians. First, can we mine it safely, second can the locals still live there safely and third can it be done without trashing the whole area?

While I don’t consider myself a tree hugging greenie, I am definitely a cautious adult who wants us to be good stewards of the land and communities.

And now having typed that, I expect that Trump has a plan for that too. 🙏🏻🤔

Cousin Clem's avatar

Mining and extracting lithium is pretty dirty business. I would imagine the people will have to get out of the way of that business. Hopefully, they get paid really well to be forced out. I don't know if Trump has a plan but the mining companies sure do.

Maggie Think of Me's avatar

Areas in north Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina were hit by Helene, some areas harder than others. The Appalachians stretch from central Alabama all the way to Maine... Not sure where the exact area is they are zeroing in on. There was a great deal of talk about large amounts of mineral deposits in the areas in NC hit hardest by Helene during that catastrophe. Would not be the least surprised to find out it was planned....

Justin's avatar

Haven't most Appalachians already been displaced from that area by that catastrophic flooding from Helena in 2022?

John infinity N's's avatar

Nope, they lived in tents all winter. Truck loads of donations coming in daily, volunteers rebuilding roads and bridges. Eric Church building them new houses

JudyC's avatar

Apparently the Amish are still there building houses!

LMWC's avatar

Kind of came to say the same thing. Hurricane Helene which took that mysterious left turn to head straight north into the heart of the southern North Carolina mountains causing immense devastation, was immediately proposed to be geo engineered to get land cheap for developers of guess what….lithium, that was well known by many. Over a year and a half now.

Maureen ODH's avatar

LMWC… Yes, I was prepared to add the same on the Helena damage of 2022… https://jimjordanreport.substack.com/p/is-the-dod-attempting-a-land-grab

OUTSTANDING POST TODAY (note to Jeff… every day is!!!!… but today is over the top and on fire!!!)

JudyC's avatar

They’ve known about this vein of lithium for years. After the horrific floods in WNC, the land grab was on, just like after the Palisades fire. Corporations swooped in and started buying up property. I just hope that this doesn’t go sideways. Unfortunately, I have very little trust in the state governments to not let this get out of hand.

CStone's avatar

I read that Doug Emhoff (kamalatoe Harris’ husband) is trying to get resident kicked out so he can mine the minerals there.

Conservative Contrarian's avatar

There's a theory hurricane Helene was intended to clean out the rabble so big corps could waltz in and scoop the land up for bargain basement prices. That happened to a degree but Appalachian rabble are a stubborn breed, so now it looks like the "new" announcement indicates they have a new plan. I won't be surprised if an eminent domain attempt is on the horizon.

Lydia Lozano's avatar

You people! Every silver lining has a dark cloud, right? This take on a positive news story says more about you and your cramped, conspiratorial world view than the actual news.

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

I’m sure when the racist pedophilic senilities handlers moved those people off their land and beyond slow walked help to the hurricane victims, they weren’t thinking about getting the lithium out, but instead locking it up as federal land forever.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

How about they already have new ways to access that mineral that doesn’t involve two mile holes inthe earth. So…

Yes, weren't most of the people in that area already forced to move after that Helena flooding in 2022 destroyed that area?

Jeff Lynn's avatar

Juju's avatar

I sit here amazed at that story. It took three years for our son to be approved for social security disability benefits. Every day I thank God for that help in the cost of supporting him as it drained our entire savings taking care of him, but the monthly aid is not that much, ($1300/mo,) and they keep back $200/month for Medicare even though he remains covered by my husband’s insurance. They told us he qualified for SNAP benefits too, and that we would be behaving financially foolish if we didn’t take the benefits. On one hand I understood the financial wisdom of that, because it’s still a tiny drain on our own resources, and we WOULD like to save for him somehow for the days we are no longer here, but I never took the aid because he lives with his parents and we ARE able to supplement his aid and afford food for him. It didn’t feel right to use SNAP when there are people out there in his position with less resources and no one to help. So we chose to pass on it. It was a difficult choice, maybe not a smart one to those more wealthy than we are, but it just didn’t feel right. Now if there were an additional benefit for clothing or medical that didn’t cost money out of his check we might use something like that. But this is specifically for food, and we are able to share our food.

I can’t get my head around owning a Porsche and using SNAP. I mean, my son’s car is an old entry-level Audi, but it was purchased long ago before he became fully disabled. The government allows him one car, and it is the only asset he owns to this day, depreciating as the clock ticks. (I think the book value on my son’s Audi is $12,000. 🤣) So I can see how there are circumstances where someone might own a nice car and need aid, BUT - not one worth $100,000 or more! We would have sold THAT and downgraded to one that costs around $25,000 tops. But still people see “Audi” and imagine luxury (he took good care of it so it is nice looking.)

So yeah, there may be cases where you can’t judge the book by the cover, but not THAT many cases, or with such expensive vehicles!

David Nelson's avatar

Juju, THESE LUXURY CARS are the sign you've needed to behold: Take the legal benefit, and set aside whatever savings it allows. Take it before it is stolen.

You can bet "the govern-ment" is not going to suddenly grow a heart of care for your son after you are gone. Do your best. God sees. May He bless you and your family.

Juju's avatar

Or send us a thank you card for being courteous stewards of the public piggy bank. 🤣

David Nelson's avatar

Long ago, Joe Sobran (R.I.P.) suggested a revolutionary voting reform to require voters in government elections demonstrate they were NOT receiving benefits from the government holding the election, on simple conflict of interest principles.

He went on to add that "It will also speed up the election process considerably since me and the other guy not receiving any benefits could cast our votes pretty quick."

My father was firmly in your camp, as were his dad and grand-dad. However, he gradually came to the conclusion that "THEY are DETERMINED to WASTE it however they may, and I will at least spend it more WISELY than they are, so he lined up and signed up for every legal benefit he was entitled to.

YOU will spend it more wisely than they have been. Please.

Juju's avatar

Alright. I added it to my “To-Do” list to look into it again, but contacting them for ANYthing is a months-long trial chamber of horrors. Lol

It would be nice to save more of his money for his future. As it is he pretty much goes through his entire monthly check and can’t save anything. This would help with that. I worry about his future.

I don’t like that he loses $200/mo for Medicare either when he is covered under my husband’s insurance since he is fully disabled. I’ve been meaning to call and cancel that because it’s $2400/year we could place in savings for him. But last week he ended up with emergency surgery to have his appendix out. I wonder if his out of pocket 20% under my husband’s insurance would have exceeded $2400? I must admit it feels good knowing that the entire thing is paid for complete. We don’t have co-insurance for ourselves so always have medical bills we owe. So this is nice.

Still chewing that one over …

David Nelson's avatar

We settled on Medigap insurance to cover the 80% [80%!!!, I must have been sleep-walking: That IS 20%] that Medicare doesn't pay. And we DO have an annual deductible, but the cost to buy "insurance" that includes that costs more than the deductible itself. We decided to eat it.

I suspect Medicare's $200/mo for duplicate (non-)coverage is in the way of clawing back anywhere they can to try to keep it solvent. Yes, yes, by all means, do whatever you can to leave as large a legacy for him as you can. Turning that $12,000 auto into a Roth mutual fund IRA might be a way to go. but #i'mnomarketseer

rolandttg's avatar

I'm sure there are tens of thousands of stories from decent hardworking people like you who are , or at least should be enraged at this and all the other medicaid , covid, and DEI fraud/ theft. My dad as a WWII vet took 2 years and a job offer to get permissions to emigrate to the US. A departed friend who had progressive degenerative MS took over 2 years to get disability approved. I qualified but never took Unemployment benefits. And yet these bolshevik satanist monsters are still leaving people like you, and vets, memory holed while they let proven criminals milk the system we are paying for every day. Way past time for a reckoning.

Juju's avatar

Yes the average monthly benefit that illegal aliens get is twice what my legal citizen son gets. And they didn’t have to go through three years of torturous, anxiety ridden red tape to get it, but maybe a couple days at most. It’s quite anger inducing.

Then those who the system paid handsomely with endless nonstop government income in return for their votes and loyalty. It’s all hard to accept, and why we just put our heads down and say “I trust you Lord Jesus, to take care of my needs today as you do the sparrow.”

And …. vote for those that want to end the imbalance and grift.

Look at the cast of deviants that have filled the office of FBI director and Attorney General over the past 4 administrations, Clinton’s 2 terms which had FBI director Bill Sessions who was fired for ethical lapses, and Attorney General Janet Reno who oversaw 86 deaths at Waco Texas including 20 children. The follow up for FBI director Sessions was Louise Freeh who took part in Ruby Ridge and the Waco siege.

Then we had Obama with FBI director Robert Mueller and finished with James Comey, who Obama called uniquely qualified. Of coarse Obamas Attorney General was Eric Operation Fast And Furious Holder who gave guns to the Mexican drug cartels which were used to kill American border patrol. Oh yah he was found in contempt of Congress in 2012 for failing to produce documents related to the case after they were subpoenaed. Of coarse nothing happened to him.

Then we had Biden with Merrick Garland as Attorney General and Christopher Wray as FBI director. Handcuffs and Shackles Garland after crying during his confirmation hearing, saying he wanted to be the best Attorney General ever and wanted to pay America back for taking his family in, arrested and jailed thousands of protesters. He put political opponents in handcuffs and shackles, even stripped searched Peter Navarro, despicable. Of coarse Christopher Wray constantly lied under oath. He also took part in the Arctic Frost hoax and the infiltration of the FBI into the January 6th protest, what a POS!

All of these people should have been convicted with long jail sentences if not life in prison for the destruction of peoples lives and the killing of citizens in the wake of their “public service”. With Comey I can’t see how he could be convicted for his sea shell threat, of coarse I don’t know all the evidence, but they have him “six ways to Sunday” for lying under oath, stealing Chuck Schumers line about the deep state. Comey’s another scumbag that destroyed people’s lives and their families while completely knowing they were innocent, it seems to be a requirement for these positions. I don’t have much faith though that he’ll ever see the inside of a prison cell. J.Goodrich

Trump seems to know what some would call - in esoteric teachings - the Law of Image.

In plastering his name, his image on everything, as he facilitates, sometimes obnoxiously, his family's business endeavors, and as he actively encourages his offspring to take full LEGALLY PERMISSIBLE ways to benefit from privileged relationships, Trump lays the groundwork for an enduring legend:

Graced with a wife beyond reproach, a one in a million beauty, staggeringly poised and grounded, with his youngest son prophesized in a book published 130 years ago, and even the surname itself: "Trump", how could his story not be more epic, more biblical?

As we know, all of this ring dang do is smearingly ascribed to vanity, egotism, self-dealing, megalomania, etc, but there's another piece of the puzzle that some of us are beginning to complete, namely, Trump is intentionally deploying the power of IMAGE, a power originated in ancient Egypt.

And, if used effectively, from pure thoughts, it can be a power influencing generations to come

(We've all been unknowingly using “image” in our lives, but without understanding the principle, our results have are helter-skelter.)

The image Trump is creating is of a leader beyond any known stature in history. He has the means to create that image; he doesn't care about what people think 'egotism' is.

(“Ego" ... as pop-psychology a term ... meaning a million different things to a million different people: We should all look in the mirror on that mark.)

Our limited imagination precludes seeing 'freedom from ego' on Trump's level. But we can certainly cultivate it in ourselves.

Trump is living for - setting things up for - generations to come. Truth will see through the hot takes, now, and forever.

WOULDN'T Jesus Christ WANT ten thousand Men and Women to live and SERVE at HIS level?

Or do we believe He just floats above us and thru us dispensing His superiority?

My understanding is that He ardently wants us to rise to His level ... NOW ... and not just ii some 'afterworld' or other.

In fact, He says so explicitly:

“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father (John 14:12)

If last week's Jesus meme is stuck in your craw, well that's another story.

I don't recall criticizing Jesus. I am just saying Trump is NOT the second coming and demonstrates non of the qualities you state Jesus wants us to rise to. The meme was just plain silly.
