The dangers have been terribly exaggerated. Newer plants are much safer than the 3 Mile Island power plant, but even there, no one was harmed. Not a single person.
The palisades plant was already 10 years past its design lifetime when it closed. Three mile island was running for 45 years and has been rusting for 5 years since then.
Some parts inside the reactor can't be serviced or replaced.
Agree..never should have left. They were "priced" out of the market. Hopefully, the Chevron decision will open the door for more. And they are new and improved:
“But the nukes are back.”
They never should have left. Yes, there are inherent dangers however I think some of these folks “running” the government are far more dangerous.
I have read that the newer 4th generation nuclear reactors are indeed far safer than the 3 mile island reactor.
Yes, but they're still not being permitted (yet). However, even the 3rd gen is now very safe.
They are permitted regularly outside the U.S.
Right. The US needs to get with the program!
I hope so..
I sure hope Elon develops better reactors.
And less ominous looking personal robots. Those things are creepy! I’d never want one of those in my house!!
How 'bout no personal robots. All machinery designed to look human is creepy and deceptive.
Yes.. maybe they should look like a plump little grannie.😀
