What about those ridiculous whole body X-ray machines they use in airport security?

We are exposed to radiation endlessly.

You can opt out. I did, traveling to UK two years ago. You have to wait for an agent of your sex to be available to do a pat-down. Annoying person wanted to know why I wanted this--I replied, "Because it's my right"

I have also done this , but they make you feel like a criminal with the waiting, then the looks, then the questions and then the pat down.

Just another of their bullying tactics, I suppose. Too bad for them. They are paid to do this. I utterly hate the Leidos facial recognition machines: raise your face so we can record it (Dublin airport, Nov. ‘22)

SAS airlines at Dulles Airport April 2023 did facial recognition on me.

I have never had any questions asked. I just wait pleasantly and if people ask I say "I don't walk through those." And leave it at that.

Don’t leave out the “face”scans. I flew out of Ft. Lauderdale this past summer and declined the face scan. The TSA agent told me to put my face to the scanner. I said no thank you and handed him my DL and boarding pass. He was shocked and not altogether happy with my answer. “You don’t want your picture taken?” Me: “NO” and after he wrapped his head around my answer he sent me on my way thru security. We all need to say “no thank you”. Who in their right mind wants their face and brains scanned? It was a lil scary I’m not gonna lie your heart speeds up a bit because stepping up to TSA and i was all by myself this trip… I wasn’t sure what the response was going to be. He was bugged with me but it was my right to say no thank you and I had all my boarding items at hand ready to go. We can all say NO Thank You! Xrays and scans goodness is it any wonder! Great comment Mary H.

I have opted out of those machines since they started. It is a little wait for the pat down, but oh well. I think more and more people should be opting out of these.

I also just opted out of the dang face scan they are now using in large airports when going through TSA. I am a big fan of opting out! I hope others join in opting out.
